Upcoming Diwali Season To be Jam Packed For Tollywood?
The Festival season is empty for movie lovers without films. That’s the reason why the makers try to target the festival season. The chances of films becoming successful are very high during the seasons as movie lovers want to watch films for the season.
On the eve of the Dasara festival, Tollywood had three releases today. Chiranjeevi’s GodFather, Nagarjuna’s The Ghost, and newcomer Bellamkonda Ganesh’s Swathi Muthyam. The three films hit the theatres today and all the films received good responses and are seeing good collections. Besides Dasara, Sankranthi and Diwali are the other two big seasons for Tollywood.
As Dasara had a good season, the focus is now on the upcoming Diwali season. As many as six films were locked for the season including a few interesting films. Besides Telugu films, dubbed films are also aiming for the season.
Tamil hero Sivakarthikeyan became a noted name in Telugu as his few films did good business here. He is awaiting the release of his upcoming bilingual film titled Prince. Jathi Ratnalu fame Anudeep is the director and it is said that Prince will hit the theatres on Diwali in Telugu and Tamil too.
Tollywood young hero Vishwak Sen is also coming for the season reportedly. His upcoming film Ori Devuda might arrive at theatres during the season. The film is carrying high expectations. Mithila Parkar is playing the leading lady.
Manchu scion Vishnu might also try his luck with his upcoming film Jinnah. Though the official announcement is yet to be made, the film might clash with other films in the Diwali season.
Nandini Reddy’s Anni Manchi Sakunamule and Daggubati Abhiram’s debut film Ahimsa might also come to theatres for the festival season. If all the films arrive at theatres, then the season is going to be paisa Vasool.
Adipurush Criticism Turning Political Worrying Makers?
Post Baahubali, Prabhas became a big star and all his films are making his fans and movie lovers eagerly wait for his films. High ticket film Adipurush is one such film. But everything went upside down after the teaser was dropped. Many objections were raised from multiple corners.
People who pinned high hopes on the film as it is based on the Hindu epic Ramayana were not impressed with the teaser. The poor VFX added fuel to the criticism of the alleged misrepresentation of Ramayana. Netizens are also talking about boycotting the film.
The criticism forced the makers to focus on damage control. Director Om Raut already said that the VFX for the film was made keeping the big screen in mind and one cannot under the VFX by watching the teaser on YouTube. His statements received a mixed reaction.
Making it tough for the makers of Adipurush, the criticism turned political with a few politicians lashing out at the makers of the not-so-good VFX. The Hindu outfits and a few BJP leaders already came down severely on the makers.
Popular Kannada actor Malavika Avinash, who also serves as the BJP spokesperson blamed Bollywood for the wrong representation of the Hindu epic. She said that the makers did not do the correct research. She asked the makers if they know about NT Rama Rao, Rajkumar, and SV Ranga Rao who earlier portaryed such roles.
Joining the force, Uttar Pradesh deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak lashed out at the teaser and said that they will not let anyone hurt the sentiments of Hindus. BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj also raised a few objections after watching the teaser.
On top of the severe criticism, the makers unveiled the teaser from Ayodhya city, the birthplace of Lord Rama as per Hindu beliefs. People are asking what is the point in launching such a teaser from Ayodhya city.
If the same continues, the criticism towards the film would increase for sure. Now all eyes are on the makers and we have to wait and see what they will do now. The makers are under severe heat.

TRS Now Becomes BRS, To Fight First Big Fight In Gujarat?
For the past few days, we have been hearing a lot about Telangana Chief Minister KCR’s entry into national politics. It was also said that we might hear a big announcement from the Chief Minister on this on Wednesday on the big occasion of the Dasara festival.
Making the reports true, KCR announced the change in his party. At a party meeting where the executive members and the legislators were present, KCR announced that TRS is now Bharat Rashtra Samithi(BRS). For this, a few changes were made to the party constitution. A letter was also sent to the Election Commission of India.
It is known that KCR has been gathering support from other parties too, As it was fixed that KCR would make the big announcement today, the leaders who are supporting him reached Hyderabad the other day and they were also present at the meeting when the new name was announced.
Reports say that for easy recognition in other states the name change was announced. As a letter was sent to the Election Commission of India, the top election body will issue a party symbol making sure that no other parties will have an objection.
Shortly after the announcement, Telangana Minister of Prohibition & Excise V. Srinivas Goud made a big announcement that the BRS will contest the upcoming general elections in Gujarat and the party will start campaigning there.
KCR intensified his efforts to enter national politics to take on the saffron party BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Now the Chief Minister is reportedly gearing up to make the big fight in Gujarat, the strong fold of the BJP. It is the home state of Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Before becoming Prime Minister, Narendra Modi served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Before the 2014 polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party used the Gujarat model extensively as a vehicle to promote the party.
In the same place, the TRS is trying to do its first battle in Gujarat, which has been a strong fortress of the saffron party for over three decades. BJP, Congress, and AAP are busy with a campaign already.

‘The Ghost’ Movie Review

Akkineni Nagarjuna has been struggling for the past couple of years to secure a good hit. Most of his films have tanked at the box office. He teamed up with Praveen Sattaru who made a thrilling action film titled ‘PSV Garudavega’. On the occasion of Dusshera, the film got released on Wednesday. Fans have pinned decent expectations and let us see how the movie turned out to be.
Story:
Vikram (Nagarjuna) is an Interpol officer. He targets the underworld mafia and made everyone fear him. But he resigns from the job due to a few reasons. His life partner and colleague Priya (Sonal Chauhan) too get separated from him. He does the freelance job for his officers in Interpol at times. One day, he receives a phone call from his sister Anu (Gul Panag) who keeps her distance from the family for a long time. She tells Vikram that her daughter Aditi is in danger and Vikram decides to protect his family. Despite all his efforts, Anu gets killed and Aditi is still in danger. Who is targeting Aditi? What does Vikram do to protect his niece? Will he become successful? All these questions will be answered on the big screen.
Analysis:
Long before the release of ‘The Ghost’, the team released a special promo revealing the unique sword which will be used by the hero in the film. They generated good buzz around it and people got a feeling that hero’s character will be more powerful than the sword he handles. As soon as the movie begins, you get hints that the hero is quite strong and undeniably powerful. He is shown as merciless towards underworld criminals and even dons begged for their lives near him. People get curious to know what happened in the flashback. But all he does are two fights. Though are designed in a very stylish manner, there is no build up before that or an emotion during the fight. There are zero elevations as hero arrives and kills everyone. The director did not even care to show the power of villains and he completely forgot to tell the reason why hero behaves in such a ruthless fashion. How can one think that world class action design and slick background score is enough to elevate the proceedings? Not just one episode but this is the problem with the majority portions in ‘The Ghost’. Despite the well-designed action scenes, there is no story and engaging screenplay in the movie which usually makes the audience own the characters.
‘Garudavega’ may not be a big commercial hit but making such an interesting film with an out-of-form hero like Rajasekhar showed Praveen Sattaru’s capabilities. His tight screenplay worked wonders in that film. But he took a wrong step in terms of the story itself this time. Mixing a thriller with family emotions might have worked in ‘Garudavega’ but it misfired with ‘The Ghost’. People are subjected to see completely different from what they expected from ‘The Ghost’. Hero protecting his family becomes a main plot in this movie and other storylines become subplots. After a certain point the audience get confused about what the hero is doing. The flashback of hero’s sister lacked depth and fails to create interest. It bores the audience a lot and the audience get completely disconnected with the plot by the end of the first half.
Hero elevations and fights gives you a feeling that the second half will be quite good but the protagonist’s flashback is restricted to fights as mentioned before. We don’t get to see the ferocious side of the hero at any point despite the underworld people uttering heavy elevation filled dialogues. Things take a bad turn when the flashback is over and the proceedings bore you to the core. While the climax part is dealt well, the damage has already been done as you watch the entire film with a disconnect. His stamp is nowhere to be seen and he does not live up to the expectations this time.
Performances:
Nagarjuna is okay as Interpol officer. His grace can be seen in a few scenes but he failed to look ferocious as a merciless officer. A lot of energy was need him during the emotional scenes but he lacked it. But he should be commended for fitting the role perfectly even at this age. His fitness is truly remarkable.
Sonal Chauhan’s role had a lot of limitations. She did not get a scope to perform. Gul Panag did a good job and Anikha Surendran attracts you with her energy. The villains are quite new and they did decently well.
Technicians:
Technically, ‘The Ghost’ is a well made film. Three music composers worked on this film and the background score is quite impressive. The regular scores are nowhere to be seen but the re-recording is quite to listen to while watching the scenes. Mukesh’s camera work is commendable and the production values are top-notch as usual.
Praveen Sattaru failed both as a writer and director. The story doesn’t excite the movie lovers at any point and gives you the feeling that it is happening in a fictional world. Praveen lost track with ‘The Ghost’.
Verdict: ‘The Ghost’ – No Mercy On The Audience

Can Team Adipurush Outcome Criticism With Press Meet?
India is home to crores of movie lovers and the stars are seen as demigods here. The mad love for films also makes it tough for the makers to do films. When it comes to films that are based on epics and gods, the makers had to be cent percent sure in the representation.
If something goes wrong, the makers have to face the heat. The same is happening with the makers of Adipurush. The Prabhas starrer is one of the much-awaited films and after the teaser was released, the film is facing severe heat. The portrayal of Ravana and the bad VFX made the makers face severe criticism.
The makers did not expect that the teaser would make them the target of harsh criticism. This forced the makers to focus on damage control. Director Om Raut said that the VFX used in the film is for the big screen and the VFX cannot be understood by watching it on YouTube.
The issue even made the VFX company owned by Ajay Devgan which is said to have worked on the film denied any connection with the film. The VFX company reportedly said that it has not worked on the VFX and distanced itself from the Pan-India film.
Now it is said that team Adipurush is busy making arrangements for the event in Hyderabad. The teaser was launched in Ayodhya and no event related to the film happened in Hyderabad so far.
Amid the criticism, the makers are reportedly gearing up for a big event and there is a big possibility of makers addressing the criticism and clearing airs on that. However, there are a few questions on can the makers outcome the heat with the possible event.
Not just common people, but even a few political leaders who are from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party are not happy with the film’s teaser and the makers might not take the risk of making them angry. They might look into the objections and address them. Adipursuh is reportedly made on a big budget of over 400 crores and the film will have a Pan-India release.
Will Chandrababu Naidu Grace Unstoppable Show?
Film personalities hosting talk shows has been a popular concept in Bollywood and it slowly forayed into southern states and a few stars are doing such shows. Senior hero Nandamuri Balakrishna also turned a host. He cleared all the doubts and proved that he can host the shows entertainingly.
He made a stunning debut as a host with the celebrity talk show Unstoppable With NBK. After the successful first season, the second season was announced which will be streamed on the OTT platform Aha.
When the second season of the show was announced, many names popped up as who could be the guests at the show and who would appear in the first episode of the show. A viral picture provided some sort of clarity as to who could be the guest in the second season of the show.
None other than former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu was present on the sets of the show and he received a stunning welcome at the sets. He posed alongside his brother-in-law Nandamuri Balakrishna and the Aha team at the sets. Producer Allu Arvind received him at the sets.
The viral picture gave birth to big speculation about whether Chandrababu Naidu will grace the first episode as the guest and we might see Nara Chandrababu hosted by Nandamuri Balakrishna for a special episode.
For the first episode of the forest season, the Manchu family was invited and the show touched on some political issues as Manchu Mohan Babu and Nandamuri Balakrishna pulled each other’s legs during the show.
It appears like the makers are in plans for the same for the second season too. However, the possible episode might not be like that of Mohan Babu’s episode and we can expect Balakrishna to get the untouched incidents in Chandrababu Naidu’s political career.
Chandrababu Naidu has been in politics for a long period and many don’t know the interesting things that happened in his career. If the incidents can be highlighted then the show will get good reviews. Let us wait and see what the makers have planned for the first episode.
Can Pawan Kalyan Reach Where Chiranjeevi Wants Him To See?
Big film stars entering politics is not a new thing in India and many stars followed the path. The list of stars who ventured into politics is very long. Coming to Tollywood, many stars entered politics. The likes of NTR, Superstar Krishna, Krishnam Raju, Mega Star Chiranjeevi, and Powerstar Pawan Kalyan entered politics.
The interesting thing about the Mega family is that Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan, who are brothers, ventured into politics. While Chiranjeevi floated Praja Rajyam Party and merged it later into Congress, Pawan Kalyan launched his political party named Janasena and he is trying his luck despite losing the 2019 general elections in Andhra Pradesh.
Megastar Chiranjeevi stunned everyone by sharing his thoughts on Pawan Kalyan. Speaking highly about Pawan Kalyan, Chiranjeevi said that Pawan Kalyan is a leader with sincere commitment and we need such leaders. He also said that people might make Pawan a leader and he wants to see that happen. “He is a sincere leader with commitment. We need such leaders. People might make him their leader in the future,” Chiranjeevi said.
After Chiranjeevi passed such comments, Janasena leader Nagababu reacted and said that Chiranjeevi’s comments won the hearts of many brothers who are supporting Pawan Kalyan. He even expressed confidence that Pawan Kalyan will reach where Chiranjeevi wanted him to see.
It is no wonder that Nagababu wanted to see Pawan Kalyan holding power as he is a brother. But the question is, can Pawan Kalyan achieve it? Though Janasena has been active for eight years, the party could not create any big impact in the elections. In the previous elections, the party lost cheaply with Pawan Kalyan also losing the polls.
Even though an MLA won as a Janasena leader, he is taking the YSRCP side causing a big embarrassment for Janasena and the chief Pawan Kalyan.
Janasena is focusing on making the party strong and making the cadre active. Though the party is looking strong in a few regions like Godavari districts, it will not be enough to come to power. Moreover, the main fight is between the ruling YSRCP and the opposition Telugu Desam Party and Janasena is in the third position.
