JP Nadda Backs PPP Medical Policy, Challenges YS Jagan’s Opposition

YS Jagan and his political strategies continue to be difficult to comprehend. His firm opposition to the largely beneficial PPP medical policy, which aims to strengthen the medical industry, is a clear example of this.
While the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh has proposed a PPP policy to bring together the public and private sectors to enhance the medical industry, Jagan has openly opposed it. In fact, he has threatened to arrest anyone who acquires medical colleges through this PPP policy if he returns as Chief Minister. This stance created panic among potential investors, leading to the recent PPP bids for four medical institutions in Andhra Pradesh failing badly.
However, a significant development has emerged. Union Medical and Healthcare Minister JP Nadda has written to the Andhra Pradesh government, emphasizing the benefits of the PPP model. In his detailed letter, he encouraged the state to expand and amplify the project, highlighting the central government’s support. The letter also stated that the Centre would provide 30–40% financial grants for the initiation of medical institutions under the PPP model, along with 25% of operational budgets for the same.
JP Nadda further pointed out that the PPP model represents the future of the medical industry, combining the expertise and resources of both public and private sectors to enhance healthcare services.
With such a strong endorsement from the central government, it remains to be seen how the YCP government, which has been firmly rejecting the policy, will respond. Will Jagan continue to threaten potential suitors of the PPP model despite the Centre’s prompt? Only time will tell.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan Lauds Chandrababu Naidu’s Vision for Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has long been praised for his visionary ideas and innovative decisions, earning admiration from leaders across party lines. During his current term, Naidu has introduced several pathbreaking policies, and leaders nationwide are lauding his efforts to steer the state back on track.
Now, Union Minister of Agriculture Shivraj Singh Chouhan has joined the list of admirers, expressing his appreciation for Naidu’s vision on technology. Speaking at the launch of the statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee at Venkatapalem in the Amaravati capital region on the occasion of Good Governance Day, Chouhan remarked that Andhra Pradesh is moving towards a ‘Quantum Yug’ under Naidu’s leadership.
He further announced that a Quantum Valley will be established in Andhra Pradesh and predicted that Amaravati will emerge as a great capital city during Naidu’s tenure. Chouhan highlighted that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working towards achieving Viksit Bharat by 2047, Chandrababu Naidu is taking initiatives to build a healthy, wealthy, and happy Andhra Pradesh, aiming for Swarnandhra Pradesh by 2047. “For Andhra Pradesh to become healthy, wealthy, and happy, the central government will leave no stone unturned and will walk shoulder to shoulder with the state,” he added.
Reflecting on the long-standing relationship between Vajpayee and Naidu, Chouhan said it was not merely political but a partnership based on trust, vision, and development. Naidu, in turn, described Shivraj Singh as a practical politician who plants saplings daily to protect the environment. He also noted that the Vajpayee memorial park in Amaravati could be developed only with the sacrifice of capital region farmers, emphasizing the importance of their contribution.
Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu: Chiranjeevi’s Big Sankranti 2026 Challenge

Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, starring Megastar Chiranjeevi, is among the most anticipated Tollywood releases for Sankranti 2026. The film marks a crucial moment for Chiranjeevi, who is aiming for a strong comeback following the disappointment of Bholaa Shankar. While expectations are high, the box office challenge is significant.
Post-COVID, Chiranjeevi’s theatrical performance has largely been underwhelming, with Waltair Veerayya being the only major success. However, fans and trade circles remain optimistic this time, largely thanks to director Anil Ravipudi, known for consistently delivering mass entertainers. Anil’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam in 2025 was a blockbuster, further boosting confidence in his collaboration with Chiranjeevi.
That said, the numbers paint a tough reality. Though the makers haven’t officially confirmed the budget, industry reports suggest that Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu was made on a massive budget of around ₹200 crore. To merely reach the “safe zone” and avoid losses, the film needs to collect at least ₹200 crore net in India.
For perspective, Waltair Veerayya — Chiranjeevi’s most successful post-COVID film — collected ₹161.06 crore net. This means Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu must earn roughly 24% more than Waltair Veerayya just to break even, a feat achievable only with strong word of mouth and audience support.

.
The killing has sent shockwaves through the Indian community in Canada and drawn a strong reaction from Indian authorities. The Consulate General of India in Toronto expressed deep anguish over Avasthi’s death and confirmed that it is extending full support to the bereaved family during this difficult time.
The incident comes just days after another Indian national was killed in Toronto, raising renewed concerns over the safety of international students and residents. Last week, 30-year-old Himanshi Khurana was found dead inside a residence, a day after she was reported missing from the Strachan Avenue and Wellington Street West area.
Following an investigation, Toronto Police issued an arrest warrant for 32-year-old Abdul Ghafoori, a Toronto resident, charging him with first-degree murder in connection with Khurana’s death. Police stated that the accused and the victim were reportedly in an intimate partner relationship.
Reacting to Khurana’s murder, the Indian Consulate in Toronto had also conveyed its shock and grief, extending condolences to her family and assuring them of all possible assistance.
In a post on X, the Consulate said,
“We are deeply saddened and shocked by the murder of Himanshi Khurana, a young Indian national, in Toronto. We extend our deepest condolences to her bereaved family during this moment of profound grief. The Consulate has been closely monitoring the case and remains engaged with local authorities to extend all possible support to the family.”
