Karthi Bags ₹23 Crore Role in Chiranjeevi–Bobby Film

Some film careers grow gradually, while others take bold leaps — and Karthi’s journey clearly belongs to the latter. The Tamil star, known for blending charm with powerful performances, is once again in the spotlight — this time for reportedly receiving the biggest paycheck of his career. According to reports, Karthi has been offered a massive ₹23 crore for a key role in Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film directed by Bobby (K.S. Ravindra). For an actor who usually charges around ₹12 crore in Tamil cinema, this marks a remarkable jump.
Karthi shares a special bond with Telugu audiences. Despite being a Tamil actor, his films consistently perform well in the Telugu market, often surpassing expectations. He even made his direct Telugu debut alongside Nagarjuna in Oopiri, a film that remains close to fans’ hearts. Since then, audiences have eagerly awaited his return to Telugu cinema — and this Chiranjeevi–Bobby project might finally make that happen.
The buzz began right after the official announcement of Chiranjeevi and Bobby’s second collaboration, and soon reports emerged about Karthi being approached for a crucial role. The ₹23-crore figure has since become the talk of both Tamil and Telugu industries, sparking discussions about whether such a fee could be justified for a supporting role. However, considering Karthi’s rising pan-Indian appeal and the brand value of a Chiranjeevi film, many believe the number isn’t far-fetched.
Both actors currently have packed schedules — Chiranjeevi is busy with Vishwambhara and Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu, while Karthi is juggling multiple high-profile projects including Va Vathiyar, Sardaar 2, Khaidi 2, Hit 4, and Martian.
If everything falls into place, this collaboration could be one of the most exciting Tamil–
Telugu crossovers in recent times — bringing together two powerhouses with distinct yet complementary styles. And if reports are accurate, Karthi’s ₹23 crore deal could set a new benchmark for inter-industry collaborations in South Indian cinema.
Revanth Reddy’s Big Push to Make Hyderabad a Global Film Hub

Telangana Chief Minister and Congress leader Revanth Reddy has made a bold promise to transform Hyderabad into a global hub for the film industry, on par with major international destinations. He also expressed his ambition to attract Hollywood productions to shoot in Hyderabad, provided the Telugu film industry extends full cooperation to the government’s initiatives.
Speaking at a felicitation ceremony organized by the Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation and the 24 Crafts Union at Yousufguda Police Grounds, Revanth Reddy was honored for his decisive intervention in resolving the recent standoff between the producers’ council and craftsmen unions that had halted film shootings. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized that he is fully aware of the challenges faced by film workers and assured them of the government’s continued support.
Revanth Reddy announced several major welfare measures aimed at improving the lives of film employees. These include the establishment of an exclusive welfare fund of ₹10 crore to assist workers during difficult times, the allocation of housing plots for film workers, the provision of corporate-level education for their children, and the extension of Rajeev Arogyasree health benefits to their families.
He also introduced a new policy linking movie ticket price hikes to profit-sharing, stating that ticket prices would only be allowed to increase if producers agree to share 20% of their profits with employees of the film federation. Revanth Reddy underlined that his government considers the film industry as important as the IT and Pharma sectors and promised to implement long-term, industry-friendly policies that benefit both workers and producers.
Recently, after government mediation, the producers’ council agreed to increase daily wages, addressing several union demands. With these new welfare initiatives and the proposed profit-sharing model, Revanth Reddy’s move is being hailed as a major boost for thousands of Tollywood workers. However, all eyes are now on the producers’ council as they deliberate on how to approach future ticket hikes under the Chief Minister’s new guidelines.
Japan, India Boost Indo-Pacific Partnership

Highlighting shared democratic values and strategic interests, Japan’s new Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi on Monday underscored the pivotal role that Tokyo and New Delhi play in promoting peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific and the wider international community.
Motegi held a bilateral meeting with India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur. Noting that the regional and global security environment has grown increasingly challenging in recent years, Motegi called for deeper and more coordinated strategic engagement between the two nations.
According to a statement issued by Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Motegi expressed a commitment to work closely with Minister Jaishankar, including through frameworks such as the Japan-US-Australia-India (Quad) partnership, to advance shared security and strategic objectives.
He also recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Japan in August, noting that the meeting between the leaders reaffirmed the robustness of the Japan-India partnership and laid out a collaborative roadmap for the next decade. Motegi emphasized that both countries would focus on three priority areas — security cooperation, economic and technological collaboration, and people-to-people exchanges — to elevate the relationship to new heights.
During the meeting, the ministers discussed expanding bilateral ties and reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the joint vision for the coming decade. Minister Jaishankar welcomed Motegi’s return to the Foreign Minister’s role and described the India-Japan partnership as “special,” rooted in shared history and mutual strategic trust.
Following their talks, Jaishankar posted on X: “Delighted to meet FM Motegi Toshimitsu of Japan. Held wide-ranging discussions on our bilateral ties… Our conversation reflected the strength and warmth of our Special Strategic and Global Partnership.”
Motegi previously served as Japan’s Foreign Minister from 2019 to 2021. His return comes amid leadership changes in Tokyo, with Sanae Takaichi recently elected as Japan’s new Prime Minister. Both Prime Minister Modi and Jaishankar have extended congratulations, affirming readiness to deepen the strategic partnership.
India-Japan relations were elevated to a ‘Global Partnership’ in 2000, a ‘Strategic and Global Partnership’ in 2006, and a ‘Special Strategic and Global Partnership’ in 2014. Defence and security cooperation remains a key pillar of the relationship, strengthened by shared perspectives on Indo-Pacific stability and the need for a free, open, and rules-based international order.
Pakistan’s Prisons Hold Over 140 Children Who Have Committed No Crime, Report Reveals

The inhumanity of Pakistan’s justice system is laid bare through the silent suffering of children living behind bars—not because they have broken any law, but because their mothers have nowhere else to go. A recent report by Islam Khabar has revealed that at least 140 children under the age of six are growing up inside prisons across Punjab, forced into confinement by circumstance rather than crime.
These children—67 boys and 73 girls housed in 45 facilities—spend their earliest years surrounded by steel bars, overcrowded cells, and the constant sound of clanging iron doors. The largest numbers are found in Adiala Jail and Multan Women’s Jail, both of which have become grim nurseries for childhoods that should have blossomed in freedom.
Though the law allows children to stay with incarcerated mothers until the age of five to preserve maternal bonds, the provision translates into a cruel reality. Their presence is legal, but their childhood is not protected. When these children reach the age limit, they are separated and sent to relatives or SOS Villages—a second forced rupture that compounds years of emotional deprivation.
Inside these prisons, life is defined by scarcity.
Meals often consist of lentils and flatbread, insufficient for growing children. Milk and fruit are luxuries. Education, where it exists, is inconsistent and conducted in cramped rooms. Most prisons lack pediatric care, proper ventilation, or sanitary conditions, leaving children exposed to illness and developmental delays.
These are spaces built for punishment—not protection—and yet they have become nurseries.
Officials cite “legal obligations” to justify the situation, exposing a justice system more invested in compliance than conscience. The children growing up behind bars are among the most powerless victims of structural indifference: innocent lives shaped by confinement, deprivation, and emotional neglect from the moment they enter the world.
A prison cell was never meant to be a cradle. But for more than a hundred children across Pakistan, it is the only world they know—a childhood stolen long before it had the chance to begin.
Ravi Mohan’s Bro Code Faces Trademark Trouble

Tamil actor Ravi Mohan’s upcoming film Bro Code has landed in legal trouble after the Delhi High Court issued an order restraining the production house from using the title, citing trademark infringement. The court observed that the title Bro Code is already a registered trademark of Indospirit Beverages, a popular alcohol brand, and that the film’s title could potentially damage the company’s reputation and mislead consumers.
The bench, led by Justice Tejas Karia, ruled that the use of the identical title without authorization amounts to infringement and could create confusion in the minds of consumers. The court stated, “A prima facie case has been made by the Plaintiff showing that their registered mark has been used identically in the Defendant’s film title without permission, which could dilute the goodwill and consumer trust built over time.”
However, the production house, Ravi Mohan Studios, argued that the beverage company’s trademark registration does not extend to “Class 41” under the Trade Marks Act, 1999, which pertains to entertainment and film-related services. They claimed that since the beverage brand’s trademark covers only its product category, it does not apply to the film industry.
Despite this argument, the High Court maintained its interim restraint, barring the makers from using Bro Code as the film’s title in any manner — directly or indirectly — until further notice.
Directed by Karthik Yogi, Bro Code features a star-studded cast including Ravi Mohan, S.J. Suryah, Arjun Ashokan, Upendra, Gouri Priya, Shraddha Srinath, Malavika Manoj, and Aishwarya Raj. The film is currently under production and is slated for release in 2026.

Speaking to the media, Lokesh assured that the state government is monitoring the situation in real time, with relief and rescue operations being executed on a war footing through close coordination between departments.
He stated that officials, MLAs, and MPs in the vulnerable districts have been placed on high alert, and teams are actively working to evacuate residents, restore essential services, and provide immediate aid to affected families.
Lokesh cautioned that the hours following 11:30 p.m. could be particularly critical as the cyclone’s intensity increases. He further added that control rooms are operating round the clock, ensuring swift response and communication.
Reiterating the government’s commitment, Lokesh emphasized that no effort will be spared to protect lives and minimize damage as Cyclone Montha continues its course inland.

Emraan Hashmi’s Punctuality Comment Sparks Debate
Punctuality has always been one of the most debated topics in the film industry, as it directly affects production schedules, coordination among technicians and co-stars, and ultimately the film’s quality. Actors who value time and arrive punctually on set are often held in high regard for their professionalism.
Recently, Tamil filmmaker A.R. Murugadoss stirred controversy when he openly criticized Bollywood superstar Salman Khan for being unprofessional during the shooting of their upcoming film Sikandar. Murugadoss alleged that Salman frequently arrived late to the sets, forcing the team to adjust their schedules, which disrupted the production flow. His remarks have since sparked widespread discussion across media and film circles.
Adding fuel to the debate, acclaimed Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi made some sharp comments during the promotions of Yami Gautam’s upcoming film Haq. While praising Yami for her discipline, he took a veiled dig at certain actors, saying, “She’s one of the few who come on time, like me. So there was no problem there.” When the host asked if actors still tend to come late to sets, Emraan quipped, “Arey kuch log toh aate hi nahin” (Some actors don’t even show up at all).
Emraan’s remark has since gone viral, igniting curiosity about whom he was referring to. Given that he recently worked alongside Salman Khan in Tiger 3 and Pawan Kalyan in OG, fans began speculating if his words were aimed at either of them.
While some linked his comments to Salman, especially after Murugadoss’s recent statements,
others speculated about Pawan Kalyan, who balances both his film and political commitments as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. However, industry sources clarified that Pawan Kalyan worked tirelessly—often more than 15 hours a day—to finish OG on time, even traveling to Mumbai for key scenes. In fact, certain combination scenes were delayed due to Emraan Hashmi’s health issues, not Pawan’s schedule.
Thus, it remains unclear who the real target of Emraan’s comments was. Nevertheless, his statement has sparked a major discussion across Bollywood and South Indian film industries, reigniting the age-old debate about punctuality and professionalism among top stars.
