Legendary filmmaker Christopher Nolan, regarded as one of the most celebrated directors in world cinema, is set to return with another ambitious project titled The Odyssey. After delivering iconic blockbusters like Inception, Interstellar, Tenet, and the Oscar-winning Oppenheimer, Nolan’s next venture has already created unprecedented buzz. The film will also release in Telugu, with the makers unveiling the Telugu trailer yesterday.
Inspired by the legendary Greek mythological epic, The Odyssey has been under intense spotlight ever since filming commenced. The excitement around the film is so massive that advance bookings were reportedly opened nearly a year ahead of release, reflecting Nolan’s unparalleled global fan following.
The newly released trailer is set against the backdrop of the Trojan War. Matt Damon essays the role of the Greek hero Odysseus, who embarks on a perilous journey back home with his men after the devastating war. Having endured immense suffering, death, and destruction on the battlefield, the group hopes to reunite with their families. However, the journey that awaits them proves to be as harrowing—if not more—than the war itself.
The trailer showcases stunning large-scale visuals and gives a glimpse into Nolan’s grand cinematic vision. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, with Anne Hathaway playing Odysseus’ wife Penelope and Tom Holland portraying their son Telemachus. Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, and several other prominent stars appear in key roles.
Mounted on a massive budget of approximately ₹2,250 crore, The Odyssey is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on July 17, 2026, promising an epic cinematic experience on a truly global scale.

Shivaji’s Comments on Heroines’ Dressing Spark Backlash at Dandora Event
Senior actor Shivaji, who rediscovered popularity after Bigg Boss and later earned appreciation for his negative role in Court, is currently busy with multiple projects. His upcoming film Dandora, in which he plays a key role, is slated for release on the 25th of this month.
During the film’s pre-release event held on Monday night, Shivaji’s comments about heroines and dressing styles sparked major backlash on social media. Addressing the audience, Shivaji first appreciated anchor Prashanthi for attending the event in a saree, praising her elegance and grace. He then expanded his remarks to discuss actresses and glamour in general.
Shivaji stated that true beauty does not lie in revealing outfits, but in grace, dignity, and self-respect. According to him, traditional or well-covered attire enhances a woman’s elegance more than outfits that excessively expose the body. He remarked that while people may smile outwardly when actresses wear such clothes, many silently question why they choose them when they could appear more dignified in decent attire.
He clarified that such opinions are often misinterpreted as opposition to women’s freedom, which, according to him, is not his intention. Shivaji emphasized that a woman represents nature itself, and dignity only adds to her respect. Recalling his mother, he said she continues to be a symbol of strength and grace in his mind even today.
The actor added that even in the current generation, many women carry themselves with elegance and cited several actresses who managed to strike a balance between glamour and grace. He concluded by saying that glamour is acceptable, but only up to a certain limit, and pointed out that on international platforms too, women dressed in sarees have won major beauty titles—highlighting the enduring power of traditional elegance.
