దేశ రక్షణ సంబంధిత అంశమిది.. అంటూ పెగాసస్ వ్యవహారంపై కేంద్రంలోని నరేంద్ర మోడీ సర్కార్, సుప్రీం కోర్టు యెదుట చిత్రమైన వాదన వినిపించింది. ‘పెగాసస్ స్పై వేర్’ వినియోగంపై సవివరమైన అఫిడవిట్ దాఖలు చేయలేమని నరేంద్ర మోడీ సర్కార్ చెప్పడాన్ని ఎలా అర్థం చేసుకోవాలి.? అసలు దేశ ప్రజలపై ‘పెగాసస్’ని ప్రయోగించారా.? లేదా.? అన్న ప్రశ్నకు సమాధానం చెప్పకుండా, ‘దేశ రక్షణ పరమైన అంశం’ అంటూ కుంటి సాకులు ఎందుకు.? అని సర్వోన్నత న్యాయస్థానమే కేంద్రాన్ని నిలదీసింది.
పెగాసస్ అనేది.. ఓ నిఘా అస్త్రం. దీన్ని కంప్యూటర్లలోకీ, స్మార్ట్ ఫోన్లలోకీ చొప్పించి.. ఆయా డివైజ్లలోని డేటాని తమ ఆధీనంలోకి తెచ్చుకోవడం.. ఇదంతా ఓ పెద్ద ప్రసహనం. దేశంలో ఎన్నికలో, ఉప ఎన్నికలో వచ్చినప్పుడల్లా ఫోన్ ట్యాపింగ్ అంశం తెరపైకొస్తోంది.. కంప్యూటర్ల హ్యాకింగ్ అంశమూ చర్చకు వస్తోంది. పెగాసస్ అనే స్పై వేర్ ద్వారా దేశంలోని పలువురు రాజకీయ ప్రముఖులపైనా, జర్నలిస్టులపైనా నిఘా పెట్టినట్లు గతంలో వెలుగు చూసిన ఓ అంతర్జాతీయ మీడియా కథనంతో అసలు వ్యవహారమంతా వెలుగులోకి వచ్చింది. అప్పటినుంచీ పెగాసస్ ప్రకంపనలు దేశంలో కనిపిస్తూనే వున్నాయి.
విపక్షాలు నిలదీస్తోంటే, అధికార పక్షం మాత్రం అడ్డగోలు వ్యాఖ్యలు చేస్తూ వచ్చింది. సర్వోన్నత న్యాయస్థానంలో దాఖలైన పలు పిటిషన్లపై విచారణ సందర్భంగా కేంద్రం ఇరకాటంలో పడింది. ‘మౌనం అర్ధాంగీకారం..’ అని ఇలాంటి విషయాల్లో భావించాల్సి వస్తుందేమో. దేశ భద్రత.. అంటూ, దేశ పౌరులపైనే కేంద్రం నిఘా పెట్టిందా.? అన్నదిప్పుడు అత్యంత కీలకమైన అంశం.
