Telangana adds 623 Covid cases

HYDERABAD: Telangana recorded 623 cases of Covid-19 on Thursday, taking the statewide tally of active cases to 9,188. There was a drop seen in active cases as more individuals, 746, recovered on the same day. The State conducted 1.11 lakh tests to identify these cases.

The highest caseload was seen in GHMC with 70 cases followed by Karimnagar with 68 and Warangal Urban with 67 cases. Khammam caseload saw decline for yet another day with only 51 cases. On the day, three deaths were also reported, taking the death toll to 3,796.

This is Naga Shaurya 20th film and he is sporting a new look in this movie. His appearance attracted many and he will be seen as an archer in this much-awaited film. This project which is directed by Dheerendra Santhossh Jagarlapudi promises to be quite entertaining and exciting. Presented by Sonali Narang, ‘Lakshya’ is produced by Narayan Das K Narang, Puskur Ram Mohan Rao and Sharrath Marrar under Sri Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Northstar Entertainment Pvt Ltd banners.

Jagapathi Babu will be seen in a crucial role while Ketika Sharma is Shaurya’s romantic interest in ‘Lakshya’. The film is in the last leg of its production and the post-production works like dubbing and editing are also going on simultaneously. The story, screenplay and direction were done by Dheerendra Santhossh Jagarlapudi while Raam Reddy is the cinematographer. Young and talented Kaala Bhairavaa is composing the music while Junaid is editing this flick.

Along with ‘Lakshya’, Naga Shaurya is simultaneously shooting for ‘Varudu Kaavalenu’ under Sithara Entertainments banner and an untitled project with Anish Krishna under his home banner Ira Creations. Ritu Varma is the heroine in the first film while Shirley Setia is the female lead in the untitled project. All three films he is doing right now are completely different from one another which stands as a testament to his good script selection.

The women athletes are making India proud at international level as India is on the verge of getting its second medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

Indian Boxer Lovlina Borgohain had forayed into the semifinals of women’s Welter by crushing China’s opponent Nien-Chin Chen in the quarters.

Keeping India’s hopes of winning the see second medal at the prestigious Tokyo Olympics, Lovlina Borgohain had won the bout by 3:2.

Borgohain had made history by becoming the third Indian boxer to win an Olympic medal. She is the third Indian boxer overall to achive the rare feat. Earlier, Mary Kom and Vijender Singh had won the Olympic medal.

Lovlina will lock horns with Turkey’s Busenaz Surmeneli in the semifinals. She will win a medal for sure but the result of the semis will determine whixh medal she will win.

India clinched first medal at the Olympics with weightlifter Mirabai Chanu winning silver in the category.

Indian legendary boxer Mary Kom had to bid goodbye to Olmypics journey after losing the semifinals with split decision.

Legendary director Raghavendra Rao who made over 100 films and made numerous blockbuster films is now making his debut as an actor. He introduced many heroes, heroines and artists throughout his career but the filmmaker is finally coming in front of the media. He is playing the role of Vasistha in his own film titled ‘Pelli SandaD’.

This film featuring Roshan and Sree Leela is a sequel to ‘Pelli Sandadi’ which was directed by Raghavendra Rao himself. Rajamouli revealed the official video which introduced the character of his guru Raghavendra Rao. He wrote, “After directing over 100 films, our Mounamuni comes in front of the camera.. Here’s the first look of @Ragavendraraoba garu as an actor, with #PelliSandaD.”

He is seen in a blue coat and playing with a volleyball. He seems to be playing a role that suits his age perfectly. He is seen with hero Roshan, Rajendra Prasad, Srinivasa Reddy and others. We can also see Deepthi Bhatnagar in the video and she was one of the heroines in ‘Pelli Sandadi’ in 1996. Gowri Ronanki is the film’s director while MM Keeravani is composing the music.

Is Samantha Really A Part of Prabhas’s Project K?

For the past couple of days, we have been hearing that the makers of Prabhas’s Project K have initiated talks with star actress, Samantha Akkineni as they wish to rope her in for an important role in the film. It was rumored that Samantha too is willing to come on board for the project.

It was also said that Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran is in consideration for another key role in the film. These speculations were so very rife that Samantha’s personal team took notice of them and reacted to the same. Here is an interesting update on whether or not Samantha is a part of Prabhas’s Project K.

As stated by Samantha’s team, she is not a part of Project K. Any report claiming otherwise is baseless and doesn’t have any authenticity. “Samantha is not associated with the project in any which way. Any reports claiming that she is on board for the project are just random rumors and nothing more.

The makers haven’t approached Samantha for any role in the film,” a member of Samantha’s team said. This should put an end to the series of speculations about Project K and especially, Samantha’s involvement in the project. It is very much evident that she is not starring in the film.

Meanwhile, the makers of Project K are currently erecting a special set in Hyderabad for shooting purpose. As reported earlier, the majority of the shoot will be taking place at a specially assembled set in Ramoji Film City Hyderabad.

The lead actors, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone will be joining the sets once they are done with their current commitments. Amitabh has already started shooting for the film in the set that has been erected. He will be shooting for a week or so before leaving for Mumbai again.

The regular shooting will commence only after Prabhas turns available. The unit is presently preoccupied with wrapping up the pre-production works as early as they possibly can. Nag Ashwin is directing the film and Vyjyanthi Movies are producing it. Project K is tipped to be one of the costliest projects in Indian cinema. More details about the project will be out in the days to come.

Uma moves HC seeking bail, says he was framed

VIJAYAWADA: Former minister and senior TDP leader Devineni Umamaheswara Rao filed a petition in the High Court seeking bail in the case registered against him under SC/ST Prevention Act by the G Kondur police. Uma was arrested after clashes broke out during his visit to Kondapalli forest area to inspect alleged illegal mining activity going on there.

In his petition seeking bail, Uma said he was framed in the case by the police. Uma said he is 59 years old and lodging him in a prison is not safe for him in view of the Covid pandemic. The petition is likely to come up for hearing on Friday.

On Thursday, TDP chief and Leader of the Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu spoke to the family members of the former minister over phone, and assured them all necessary support from the party. Mylavaram MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad accused the TDP for spreading lies. “Mining was going on in the area for the past 40 years and it was Naidu and Uma who were involved in illegal mining,’’ he alleged. He accused Uma of taking `3 crore bribe in 2018 for converting Kondapalli forest lands into revenue lands.

As a big development in the case, Raj Kundra’s wife Shilpa Shetty has knocked on the doors of the Bombay High Court to file a defamation case, reports say.

According to the reports, Shilpa Shetty has reportedly filed a defamation case against media houses and media personnel on the grounds of publishing false news that harms her image.

The actress has sought directives from the High Court to stop the publishing of false news against her on social media and other media.

It has been widely reported that in her petition, Shilpa Shetty had mentioned a few leading media outlets both print and electronic and social media platforms as the parties

Petitioner Shilpa Shetty also requested the High Court to see that no false, defamatory information agaisnt her appears on social media and news channel.

Having said that, Shilpa Shetty also requested the Court to order the media houses and other platforms to remove the false news and information.

In addition to this, the defendants should pay Rs 20 crore to Shilpa Shetty for publishing fake news and issue an apology for their acts, she stated in the petition.

Raj Kundra was arrested by the Mumbai Police on July 19 on the grounds of being the key conspirator of the adult film racket, which is involved in filming and publishing obscene content.

After Raj Kundra’s arrest, a few actresses become vocal of the issues they faced with the racket and sought action against Raj Kundra.

Recently, the Mumbia Crime Branch officials told the media that Shilpa Shetty was not given clean chit in the case as ths investigation is still continuing.

After getting to a conclusion, we will take a call on this, they said.

As of now, the police arrested 11 people in connection with the case including Raj Kundra and people who might have connection with the case are being questioned. Shilpa Shetty was questioned by the officials at her residence last week.

Posani’s health condition is fine for now and there is nothing to worry about. Even his family members are doing alright.

Meanwhile, Posani has shared a heartfelt note to the producers of his ongoing projects. In this note, Posani apologised to his producers, saying their film shootings have been postponed because of his unavailability. He assured them he would back to work once he is fully fit.

Telangana government releases Rs 500 crore for Dalit Bandhu scheme implementation

HYDERABAD: The State government on Thursday issued a budget release order for Rs 500 crore to implement the Dalit Bandhu scheme. The funds were released to the SC Development Department under the CM Dalit Empowerment Programme, a new scheme announced in the State Budget 2021-22. For the first quarter, Rs 250 crore and for the second quarter of this financial year another Rs 250 crore were released. A budgetary allocation of Rs 1,000 crore was made in the 2021-22 Budget under the CM Dalit Empowerment Programme.

The Dalit Bandhu pilot project will be implemented in Huzurabad. If successful, the scheme will be implemented in other parts of the State. So the SC Development Department is most likely to spend Rs 500 crore in Huzurabad. Under Dalit Bandhu, the government will deposit Rs 10 lakh into the beneficiary’s bank account. If the entire Rs 500 crore is spent in Huzurabad, then 5,000 SC families will be benefited in the segment slated for a bypoll.

Currently, officials are touring Huzurabad to identify beneficiaries. The amounts will be given to SC citizens, belonging to BPL families, to start their own enterprises. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had recently conducted an orientation programme with select SCs from Huzurabad.

Hyderabad: Demanding that Eatala Rajender return the assigned lands he allegedly encroached to SCs, former minister Motkupalli Narasimhulu vowed to campaign against the BJP leader in the forthcoming byelection, if he failed to do so. Speaking to the media at his residence in Begumpet, Narasimhulu alleged that it was Rajender who encroached assigned lands and requested the people of Huzurabad to boycott him. “He should immediately return the lands he encroached to the real owners,” Narasimhulu said

Official: Radhe Shyam locks Sankranthi release

The makers of Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam have officially announced that the film will indeed by releasing next Sankranthi season. A special announcement confirming the same dropped a short while back.

As per the announcement from the makers of Radhe Shyam, the film will be releasing in theaters on 14th January. This confirms that the film will be locking horns with Pawan Kalyan and Rana’s Telugu remake of Ayyappanum Koshiyum. Even Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata is likely to release next Sankranthi season.

Radhe Shyam wrapped up shoot just a few days ago and the makers have opted to release the film in theatres next Sankranthi season, which often proves to be a lucrative release window for Telugu films.

Now that Radhe Shyam has locked Sankranthi release, it remains to be seen if other films which were initially slated for release during the festival period will be postponed.
