There are very few actors who are as dedicated as Prabhas. He dedicated around 5 years for the Baahubali duology. Not many modern-day actors in Telugu cinema would allot as many years for a single project. Cut to now, Prabhas is set to emulate a similar feat again for his next project with Nag Ashwin. He has reportedly allotted as many as 200 working days for his next with Nag Ashwin, which has been tentatively titled Project K. Add all the layoff periods, shoot breaks, etc. and Prabhas will end up working on the project for well over a year at the very least.
The last time Prabhas allotted so many days for a project was for Baahubali duology and he might be doing the same again for Project K. Given the magnanimous scale of the project, Prabhas understood that he had to allot bulk dates for the project and he decided to act accordingly. Nevertheless, his dedication and willingness to encourage larger-than-life projects is there to be seen for everybody.
The makers of Project K are planning to carry out much of the shoot at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. This way, they will have the opportunity to cut down on the traveling costs and also carry out the shoot in a well-managed enclosure. This will also keep the risk of Covid transmission at risk.
Even Amitabh and Deepika Padukone are said to have agreed to allot bulk dates for the project. The actors are fully trusting in Nag Ashwin’s directorial capabilities and they are willing to allot consecutive dates for the project. More updates about the project will be out once the regular shoot commences. Prabhas and Deepika Padukone are expected to join the sets once they wrap up their commitments.
Meanwhile, there are also rumors that the makers of Project K are in talks with Samantha and Prithviraj Sukumaran for lead roles in the film. The final call will be taken after the two actors intimate the makers about their availability. Nag Ashwin has reportedly penned a sci-fi thriller subject for the Prabhas starrer. Vyjyanthi Movies are bankrolling the project on a lavish scale.
Instagram to make accounts for users under 16 private by default
Washington: Instagram has rolled out a few new features to make the application safer for everyone, especially minors.
Users below the age of 16 (18 in some countries) will now have private accounts by default.
For the unversed, only approved followers can see posts and like or comment under private accounts.
In a blog post dated July 27, Instagram also announced other major changes. It will roll out new technology aimed at reducing unwanted contact from adults — like those who have already been blocked or reported by other teens — and it will change how advertisers can reach its teenage audience, reported TechCrunch.
“For young people who already have a public account on Instagram, we will show them a notification highlighting the benefits of a private account and explaining how to change their privacy settings. We will still give young people the choice to switch to a public account or keep their current account public if they wish,” the post read.
The decision has been taken after detailed research carried out by Instagram. The research suggested that eight out of ten young people accepted the private default settings during sign-up.
However, Instagram will not force teenagers to remain private. They can switch to public accounts at any time, including during sign-up.
Instagram increases time duration of Reels
Washington: After seeing an increase in people’s interest in making Reels on Instagram, the social media application has now announced that users can create 60 seconds videos on Reels.
According to TechCrunch, the recent update also adds functionality for a captions sticker on Reels, which transcribes audio to text. Also, the caption sticker is currently available in a handful of English-speaking countries only.
Instagram earlier supported Reels up to 30 seconds only, while its competitor TikTok recently expanded its limit to three minutes for all creators.
Announcing the news, Instagram posted a meme on its official Twitter showing the progression of Reels, starting with no Reels and progressing to the new time limit.
However, more details about the latest update have not been mentioned yet.

Sharmila’s dharnas turning out to be her biggest enemy?
YS Sharmila, the daughter of united Andhra Pradesh’s former Cheif Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy, and the sister of the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, launched her party officially in Telangana. Sharmila has been very vocal from day one that she would fight for the unemployed youth of the state, and that she would not stop until justice is served.

The Telugu remake of the Malayalam film Ayyappanum Koshiyum is being directed by Saagar K Chandra and produced by Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments. Billed as an action thriller, the film is set to release in theatres on Sankranti in 2022.

Rahul going to Visakhapatnam for VSP
The privatisation of the Visakha Steel Plant and the issues surrounding the matter have become the talk of the town, with all political parties in the state of Andhra Pradesh against the privatisation of the steel plant, which provides employment to lakhs of people. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy even wrote a few letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting for the PM to withdraw the decision of privatising VSP.

Panama scandal: Pakistan PM names ‘common friend’ who offered Rs 1,000 crore bribe to withdraw case against Nawaz Sharif
LAHORE: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has finally filed a reply in a defamation case and identified a “common friend” who allegedly offered him Rs 1,000 crore on behalf of Shahbaz Sharif to withdraw the Panama Papers case in the Supreme Court against then prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
Khan in 2017 had alleged that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shabaz offered him Rs 1,000 crore through a “common friend” to withdraw the Panama Papers case in the Supreme Court against then prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
Khan at that time did not disclose the identity of the person who offered him the bribe on behalf of Shahbaz.
Shahbaz, 69, is the younger brother of 71-year-old Nawaz Sharif.
Following Khan’s allegation, Shahbaz filed a defamation case against the cricketer-turned-politician.
In a written reply to Lahore session court on Tuesday in response to the defamation suit, Prime Minister Khan disclosed the name of the person who offered him Rs 1,000 crore to withdraw the Panama Papers case against Sharif as Omar Farooq.
“Omar Farooq — a common friend — made this offer to Imran Khan,” the prime minister’s counsel told the court.
The counsel said the incident was disclosed for the consumption of the public at large and in the interest of the public good which does not constitute any defamation.
He said the plaintiff and the defendant are political rivals and have been facing each other in the political arena for more than two decades.
Shahbaz himself made numerous “defaming and malicious” statements against Khan and other leaders of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) as well as other political parties in the past, the counsel said, requesting the court to dismiss the suit as the PML-N leader is not entitled to any damages.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Mudassir Farid adjourned the hearing till August 4.
In the four years, Khan’s legal team sought adjournments on at least 50 hearings.
In his petition, Shahbaz requested the court to issue a decree for recovery of Rs 1,000 crore as compensation for the “defamatory” comment, which caused great damage to his reputation in the public.
In a statement on Wednesday, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Auranzeb demanded an apology from Prime Minister Khan for levelling baseless allegations against the Opposition leader.
Calling him a “pathological liar”, she said Khan is no longer “morally eligible” to hold the office of a member of the National Assembly and the prime minister of Pakistan.
“Does a liar, incompetent and unqualified person deserve to be the leader of the Pakistani nation?” she asked.
In the wake of the Panama Papers scandal, the Supreme Court in July 2017 disqualified Sharif.
He was later convicted in two corruption cases — Avenfield properties and Al-Azizia — and sentenced to a seven-year jail term.
The PML-N supremo has been living in London since November 2019 after the Lahore High Court granted him permission to go abroad for four weeks for treatment.
Sharif was declared a proclaimed offender last year by the Islamabad High Court after he failed to appear before it despite several warnings.
US moves to better protect infrastructure from cyber threats
WASHINGTON: The Biden administration is eyeing ways to harden cybersecurity defenses for critical infrastructure, announcing Wednesday the development of performance goals and a voluntary public-private partnership to protect core sectors.
The actions, outlined in an order being signed by President Joe Biden, are an acknowledgment of the cybersecurity vulnerabilities of critical industries — a reality made clear by the May hack of the nation’s largest pipeline, which delivers about 45% of the fuel consumed on the East Coast.
But they’re also meant to address the “patchwork of sector-specific statutes” that have been adopted piecemeal over time and that leave the government without a uniform or adequate cybersecurity threshold, according to a senior administration official who briefed reporters before a formal announcement.
The partnership was launched as a pilot program in April with electricity utilities, and additional alliances with other sectors will be formed this year. It comes as federal officials have been promoting greater cybersecurity resiliency among private companies, including announcing new requirements and protections for pipeline operators last week.
The partnership is voluntary, though the administration has not ruled out the possibility of mandatory requirements in the future, the official said. But short of legislation, the official said, “there isn’t a comprehensive way to require deployment of security technologies and practices that address, really, the threat environment that we face.”
In addition, Wednesday’s order will direct the departments of Homeland Security and Commerce to develop cybersecurity performance goals for critical infrastructure.

TRS spending crores to win Huzurabad bypoll, claims Telangana BJP leader Eatala Rajender
KARIMNAGAR: Former Minister Eatala Rajender alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was spending thousands of crores of rupees to win the Huzurabad byelection. Rajender also claimed that his supporters were being threatened by TRS leaders.
As part of his padayatra, Rajender took part in various programmes at Bheempalli village on Tuesday, July 27, 2021. “I do not have the resources to face the money power of TRS chief KCR, but I urge you (voters) to teach a befitting lesson to the TRS party in the upcoming byelection,” he said.
Rajender demanded the Dalit Bandhu scheme be extended to nomadic communities, in addition to the SC community. Meanwhile, the Congress party kick-started its preparations for the byelection on Tuesday. Former deputy chief minister Damodara Raja Narasimha took part in the party’s meeting at Kamalapur.
Addressing the workers, he said that this byelection was going to be one of the most costly elections in the history of Telangana. He alleged that CM KCR was damaging State’s politics with his ‘corrupt’ attitude. “He (the CM) has pushed the State into a debt trap,” he said. Commenting on the Dalit Bandhu scheme, Raja Narasimha alleged that the programme was tailor-made for the upcoming byelection. The leader also criticised Rajender for joining the saffron fold.
