Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa announces resignation
For a long time now, it was speculated that Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa will resign from his top post. After months of speculation, the towering Lingayat leader has announced his resignation on Monday. This marks the end of his two-year rule.
Yeddyurappa will meet the Governor at 4 pm to submit his resignation. Speaking on the two-year anniversary of his government, the emotional veteran leader said his government had fought for farmers, Dalits and the people of this state. He shed tears at the two-year anniversary of his government.
BS Yeddyurappa said Atal Bihari Vajpayee had asked him to join the Union Cabinet when he was the Prime Minister, but the former denied the latter’s offer and said he would remain in Karnataka politics. The CM said he had always been through Agni pariksha in his career and that the Covid-19 situation had troubled him for the past two years. He spoke for almost two hours in the Karnataka Assembly and said he had run the government successfully for two years.
He also asked officers and MLAs to regain people’s trust by working harder, in a clean and honest way

తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర ముఖ్యమంత్రి కేసీఆర్ హుజూరాబాద్ లో గెలవడం కోసం ఏకంగా రెండు వేల కోట్ల రూపాయలను ఖర్చు చేస్తున్నారు అంటూ మునుగోడు ఎమ్మెల్యే రాజగోపాల్ రెడ్డి ఆరోపించాడు. తన నియోజక వర్గం అభివృద్దికి నిధులు ఇవ్వాల్సిందిగా ఎన్ని సార్లు కోరినా కూడా ఇవ్వడం లేదని.. ఆ రెండు వేల కోట్లను తన నియోజక వర్గంకు ఇస్తానంటే తాను రాజీనామా చేసేందుకు సిద్దంగా ఉన్నాను అంటూ ఆయన పేర్కొన్నాడు.

Ex MLA Gone Prakash extends his support to Etela Rajender
Former RTC chairman and Ex-MLA Gone Prakash Rao has said that he will support the former minister and BJP leader Etela Rajender. He hailed Etela as the man who worked tirelessly during the Covid-19 period. He said that people will also support the former health minister in the Huzurabad by-election.
“Huzurabad constituency belongs to the Reddy community. In such a place, one has to think that a BC leader has competed six times and won. The people of the Huzurabad constituency have moral values. Even the intelligence wing cannot predict the victory of Etela,” he said.
“The TRS government has to put the Dalit Bandhu pilot project in SC Reserve constituency instead of Huzurabad. CM KCR is giving Dalit bond in Huzurabad to defeat Etela in the by-election,” Gone Prakash added.
Prakash Rao has been criticizing the ruling TRS party and CM KCR for quite some time now. He recently made sensational remarks that the party MP Santosh Kumar has been aiming for the Chief Minister’s chair. He even said intelligence information would also go to the CM through Santosh Kumar.
Prakash Rao alleged that Santosh Kumar and his family members looted thousands of crores. He also said that Santosh is using his powers to file illegal cases against innocent people.
Chiranjeev’s Lucifer remake to start rolling from this date
Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film, the Telugu remake of the Malayalam film, Lucifer, has created a great buzz among film circles even before the shooting was commenced. We already reported that the team has kick-started pre-production work.
Now, the latest update we hear is the makers of the film have locked a date to start the production. As per the info we got, Chiranjeevi’s 153rd film will start shooting from August 12th in Hyderabad.
As per reports, the makers have erected the sets required to shoot the mass entertainer. Interestingly, #Chiru153 will feature the Megastar in a salt-and-pepper look. Director Mohan Raja will helm the project after VV Vinayak and Sujeeth of Saaho fame walked out of the project.
On the other hand, Chiranjeevi is also wrapping the pending work of his next film, Acharya, which is being directed by Koratala Siva. The film will hit the screens this year.
It’s A Wrap For Nani’s ‘Shyam Singha Roy’!
After wrapping up ‘Tuck Jagadish’ under Shiva Nirvana’s direction, Natural Star Nani has started working on ‘Taxiwaala’ director Rahul Sankrityan’s ‘Shyam Singha Roy’. Set in the backdrop of vintage Kolkata, this prestigious project is made on a good budget and the first look posters of Nani and Sai Pallavi impressed the audience.
The shooting of this flick came to a halt due to the second lockdown but the team bounced back onto the sets as soon as the restrictions were lifted. Despite the grand sets getting damaged due to the heavy raises, this period drama surpassed all the odds and completed its shooting. With the principal photography done, the film’s team is heading towards the post-production stage. Several teams of VFX will work on this flick to make it a visual extravaganza.
It is a very special film in Nani’s career and his makeover won a lot of appreciation. Rahul Sankrityan penned an interesting subject and is looking forward to giving the audience a completely new experience. Producer Venkat Boyanapalli making this movie on a grand scale and never compromised on the budget. Speaking about the team’s efforts, he said, ‘Shyam Singha Roy shooting has been wrapped up. We are really happy with the way the film has been shaped up. We could complete the film within the estimated time despite many hurdles, thanks to everyone for their support.’
A huge schedule was done in Kolkata while a huge temple set was erected in Hyderabad which reflected the culture of Bengal. An important part of the shooting was done in that set. Talented actresses Sai Pallavi, Kriti Shetty and Madonna Sebastian are playing the female leads in this flick which has other actors like Rahul Ravindran Murali Sharma, Abhinav Gomatham and others playing key roles.
Satyadev Janga wrote the original story while Mickey J Meyer is composing the music. Sanu John Varghese cranks the camera while Naveen Nooli is the editor. ‘Shyam Singha Roy’ is produced under Niharika Entertainment banner. Rav Varma is composing the fights while Avnash Kolla has bult some wonderful sets for this period drama. The release date is yet to be announced.

Three KCR strategies for winning Huzurabad bypoll
Is KCR planning something very big for the Huzurabad election? It is now becoming increasingly clear that KCR has several plans up his sleeve to win this prestigious contest. He seems to be adopting a three-pronged approach to defeat the BJP. Firstly, he is weaning away key influences like Kaushik Reddy, Peddireddy and Mothkupalli from their parties and is making them join the TRS.
The second strategy is to bring in schemes such as Dalit Bandhu and Sheep Rearing to wean away significant sections of the voters. The Dalit Bandhu is aimed at winning the Dalit voters, while sheep-rearing is aimed at Yadavs and Kurumas in the BC sections. He is planning to bring in similar schemes now.
The third strategy is to ensure that there is a division of anti-Government votes. He wants to bring in new players to cut into the anti-TRS votes. For instance, the field assistants, who want regularization of their services, are threatening to put up 1000 candidates. Assuming that each candidate gets at least 10 votes, this would come to 10000 votes, which is a huge cut into the anti-TRS votes.
Now an organization called Arya Vysya chaitanya Porata Samiti has jumped into the fray. The samiti is claiming that it will put up 500 candidates if the government did not announce the formation of a corporation for the Vysya community and allocate Rs 10000 crore for the corporation. This is being viewed as a ploy on the part of the TRS to divide the vysya votes. Also, by increasing the number of the candidates, there seems to be a plan to go in for paper ballots instead of electronic voting machines.
Popular veteran actress Jayanthi passes away
Veteran South Indian actress Jayanthi has passed away due to illness on Monday, July 26. She was 76. She had been ill for the past few years and passed away this morning.
The popular actress, who had won the hearts of millions of people by portraying various roles over the last several decades, was also called as Abhinaya Sharadhe.
Jayanthi was a prominent name in the Kannada film industry during the 70s and 80s. She made her debut in the Sandalwood with ‘Jenugoodu’ directed by Y R Swamy, which was released in 1968. Having acted in over 500 flicks, the star actress has won six State awards (four Best Actress and two Best Supporting Actress).
Jayanthi also tasted success in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam cinema. Born on 6 January 1945 in Bellary, then in the Madras Presidency, she fell in love with the famous actor-director Peketi Sivaram and got married. She has a son named Krishna Kumar.
