HYDERABAD: TPCC president A Revanth Reddy on Monday levelled serious allegations of corruption and nepotism against Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, his son KT Rama Rao, their relatives, friends and partymen in the e-auction of 50 acres of Kokapet lands. Revanth, who was kept under house arrest after trying to lead a delegation of Congress leaders to the Kokapet land, later alleged that the entire eauction reeked of corruption, which helped KCR’s near and dear ones corner the valuable land parcels for a song.

Speaking to mediapersons, he alleged that apart from 17.684 acres of land bought by My Home’s Rameshwar Rao’s sons and their firms (Aqua Space Developers Pvt Ltd and Hyma Developers Pvt Ltd), known for their relations with KCR, 9.4 acres went to benami companies of Siddipet Collector P Venkatrami Reddy (Rajapushpa Properties Pvt Ltd, Rajapushpa Reality), against whom a CBI inquiry is pending for alleged irregularities during his term as secretary of HUDA in 2006. “Now you understand why the Collector and his wife touched the CM’s feet on his visit to his office in Siddipet recently,” Revanth said.

Raj Kundra has been arrested by the Mumbai Police for questioning in connection with making porn content and publishing them. He was served notices before taking him into custody.

The Indian-British businessman was arrested by the cops as part of their investigation in a porn production racket. A case was filed in February this year after raiding a bungalow in Mumbai.

After arresting nine people on the grounds of filming and publishing pornographic content, the Mumbai Police has started to dig deeper into the case and arrested Raj Kundra.

Reports claim that Raj Kundra’s Whatsapp chats with his alleged partners contain a big evidence in the case which was being examined by the cops. The cops are likely to produce hom before the court today.

After he was placed under arrest by the cops in connection with his alleged role in this case, the cops arrested one more person. With this, the number of arrests made by the cops in the case has gone up to 11.

Before appearing for the questioning, Raj Kundra filed a petition seeking anticipatory bail and the court is yet to take a call on this.

Expelled AIADMK general secretary V K Sasikala in an interview recalled her association with former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. Speaking about leaving Poise Garden in 2011, Sasikala said that she anticipated it even before it happened.

Sasikala explained that she had received information that a conspiracy was going on to separate her from Jayalalithaa. The former CM wanted to know who was the conspirator. So, Sasikala said that she came out as per the plan.

“There was a big role of mine in reuniting the ‘AIADMK’ which were two factions at that time. I went directly to the late Chief Minister, Janaki Ramachandran and then went and talked to Jayalalithaa. At the time, Janaki felt that she had to enter politics to protect the AIADMK founded by the MGR,” said Sasikala.

“Jayalalithaa loves movies and fight scenes starring MGR. The two of us saw many movies in the estate bungalow, Kodanadu. Our favorite deity is Hanuman,” added Sasikala.

Sasikala announced before the assembly elections that she was moving away from politics. But now, the audios of her talks with the party organizers toward capturing the AIADMK are stirring.

Don’t compromise on Polavaram rehabilitation, resettlement works: CM Jagan

VIJAYAWADA: Emphasising the need for completing Polavaram Project on time, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday, July 19, 2021, directed the officials concerned not to compromise on the quality of the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) colonies being constructed for the displaced families.

Reviewing the progress of the project and R&R works with ministers, officials and others at Polavaram after conducting an aerial survey and inspection of the project site, the Chief Minister pointed out that despite financial constraints, the government has not kept pending any bills pertaining to R&R and directed the officials to ensure that in the future too, no such bill was left unprocessed.

“Though Rs 2,300 crore bills for Polavaram Project are pending with the Centre, the State government has not delayed the project and is executing works with its own funds,” the Chief Minister said and instructed the officials to redouble their efforts to get the outstanding dues cleared.

The Polavaram project bills have been pending with the Centre for the past six months. When the Chief Minister suggested that an official be deputed to New Delhi to pursue the matter, he was informed that already an official had been sent to Delhi as per his previous instructions. During the review, Jagan announced that he would visit R&R colonies and directed the officials to focus on providing employment and imparting skills to the Polavaram project evacuees. He further directed them to identify land for distribution to the evacuees who have ROFR pattas. Officials explained to him that they have set a target to shift the displaced families from 48 of the 90 habitations by August.

‘Appoint special officer’

He advised them to appoint a special officer to monitor the quality of R&R works. “Mistakes happen here and there in the eagerness to achieve targets, but they should be identified and corrected without delay. Quality of work should never be compromised. Everyone should understand that those displaced will be staying in these colonies for a lifetime,” he said and asked the officials to take up constructing infrastructure like roads and other social development works.
