YS Sharmila wants Covid-19 brought under Aarogyasri
HYDERABAD: YS Sharmila on Friday said Telangana’s citizens had spent lakhs of rupees for Covid-19 treatment by mortgaging their properties as the State government had not provided them with treatment under Aarogyasri. She sought to know the reasons for not incorporating Covid-19 treatment under Aarogyasri. She was speaking to people after visiting a follower’s residence in Almaspur village of Karimnagar district. The follower had died of Covid-19.
Addressing the gathering, Sharmila asked the government why it didn’t consider itself responsible for public health during the pandemic. Common people were forced to pay Rs 10-20 lakh for treatment, she voiced.
“Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao goes to Yashoda Hospital for getting treated for Covid-19 and the common man has to shell out lakhs of rupees in private hospitals. The CM should step out of the farmhouse to see what the poor people are going through,” she said. She demanded that the government provide Rs 5 lakh compensation to families who suffered bereavement due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Early trading makes Pushpa producers lose big!
Allu Arjun‘s Pushpa is one of the most anticipated films of 2021. The film is being made on a massive budget with the makers not comprising in aspect when it comes to allocating the budget for the shoot.
However, the producers of Pushpa are said to be losing a massive sum due to early trading. It is known that Allu Arjun teamed up with Sukumar even before Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo hit the screens. The pre-production of Pushpa began early and the makers even closed the deals for non-theatrical rights for Rs 60 Crore.
But after the release of ALVP, the craze of Bunny increased many times, and it boosted his market too. If the makers have closed the deals in the current market trend, they would have easily gained nearly Rs 100 crores.
As per reports, the team will resume shooting from July 5 in Hyderabad and the schedule will last for up to 40 days. Rashmika Mandanna will play the leading lady in Pushpa while Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil roped in to play the antagonist.

COVID-19: Delta variant surfaced in Andhra Pradesh in April
VIJAYAWADA: The first case of Delta Plus variant of Covid-19 was detected at Tirupati in the State on April 4 and treated, said Deputy Chief Minister (Health) Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas (Nani).
Speaking to media persons after CM Jagan Mohan Reddy’s review meet on the Covid-19 on Friday, Alla Nani said at present there are no active Delta Plus variant cases in the State.
According to sources in the Health Department, the analysis of samples of a Covid patient of Tirupati at the National Institute of Virology in Pune, which came on Thursday, confirmed that it was Delta Plus variant. As the Covid infection of the patient was severe, his samples were sent to the NIV as part of routine process. Samples of around two dozen patients with high content of infection from across the State are sent to premier institutes like NIV for genome sequencing every day. As on date, the patient and the primary contacts have been treated and discharged.
Meanwhile, the Union Ministry of Health has alerted the State about the new variant citing INSACOG inputs. In a letter to Chief Secretary Aditya Nath Das, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said Delta Plus variant, which is currently a Variant of Concern has increased transmissibility, stronger binding to receptors of lung cells and potential reduction in monoclonal antibody response.
Positivity rate under 5% in 6 districts, recovery rate higher than national average
Pointing out that a case of Delta Plus variant has been reported in Tirupati, the Health Secretary advised the Chief Secretary that the public health response has to become more focused and stringent. He advised the Chief Secretary to take immediate containment measures in the districts and clusters, including preventing crowds and intermingling of people, widespread testing, prompt tracing as well as vaccine coverage on a priority basis.
Further, the Chief Secretary was asked to ensure that adequate samples of positive persons are sent to the designated labs of INSACOG for whole genome sequencing in the context of Covid-19 pandemic, promptly so that the clinical epidemiological correlations can be established.

At the review meeting, the officials informed Chief Minister about the decline in active Covid cases in the State, which fell below 50,000. The positivity rate in the State is 5.23 per cent and it is even less than 5 per cent in six districts, while the recovery rate is 96.67 per cent, which is higher than the national average, they said.
They further explained that 76.51 per cent of beds in private hospitals are occupied by patients under the Aarogyasri scheme now. The number of calls to the 104 centre dropped significantly and it received 1,021 calls on Friday. As regards to black fungus, they said 3,148 cases were reported. Surgeries were performed on 1,095 patients and 1,398 were discharged. The black fungus toll in the State stood at 237.
As far as oxygen plants are concerned, the officials said the government is setting up 134 PSA plants. Emphasis has been laid on setting up of oxygen plants in hospitals with more than 50 beds. By September, 97 plants will be set up and the remaining 37 plants are expected to be completed by March next year, they added.
The Chief Minister directed the health officials to strengthen infrastructure in government hospitals in rural areas and ensure that medicines being provided to patients are of WHO and GMP standards. Special attention should be paid to sanitation in hospitals and food provided to patients and Standard Operating Procedures should be prepared for the purpose. A special officer should be appointed to ensure that all hospitals get access to infrastructure. The attendance of doctors, nurses and other medical staff should be closely monitored, he said.

మూవీ ఆర్టిస్ట్స్ అసోసియేషన్ (మా).. గట్టిగా వెయ్యి మంది ఓటర్లు కూడా లేని అసోసియేషన్ ఇది. ఈ విషయాన్ని ‘మా’ ప్రముఖులే చెబుతుంటారు. చాలామంది సినీ ప్రముఖులు అసలు ఓటే వెయ్యరు ‘మా’ ఎన్నికల్లో. ఎప్పుడో.. చాన్నాళ్ళ క్రితం చిరంజీవి చొరవ చూపడంతో ‘మా’ ఏర్పాటయ్యింది. ఆ తర్వాత క్రమంగా సినీ పరిశ్రమలోని రాజకీయాలు ‘మా’ ప్రతిష్టను మసకబారేలా చేశాయి.

Dattatreya’s ‘rebel’ look!! Guv shares throwback pic
Bandaru Dattatreya may be in Himachal Pradesh, but he continues to make waves back in Telangana. His Alai Bhalai is a trademark programme that is known to bring political and social leaders of all hues and shades together. On Friday, he shared a throwback pic of himself and made news.
The photograph was of 1975 vintage! Dattatreya, then an RSS pracharak (fulltimer), worked as an underground worker against the draconian emergency of Indira Gandhi. He changed his attire and sported beard. He had also changed his identity. He was later arrested by the police after nine months in Bellampalli. He was jailed under MISA act. During his imprisonment, he elder brother passed away. Dattatreya was released on parole to attend the last rites.
Sharing a pic of those days, Dattanna said that he was sent back to jail soon after the last rites were over. Later, the police suggested to his mother that Dattanna would be released if only he gave an undertaking not to participate in political activities. Dattatreya’s mother refused to do that and said that her son did no wrong. She said he would continue his fight against tyranny. Dattatreya shared this detail while posting a pic of those days.
Popular actor to play Hanuman in Adipurush
Pan India star Prabhas has multiple big-budget projects in his Kitty. One of them is Adipurush, directed by Om Raut of Tanhaji fame. The film will have Prabhas essaying the role of Lord Ram and it is based on the epic Ramayan.
According to the latest reports, popular actor Devdatta Nage has been roped in for Adipurush to play Lord Hanuman. It is learned that some scenes have already been shot on him.
The actor is famous for his serials like ‘Devyani’ and ‘Jai Malhar’. He has acted in many movies since then. Of these, films like ‘Satyameva Jayate’ and ‘Tanaji’ brought fame.
The shooting of Adipurush is likely to resume by the end of July or August. The film stars Saif Ali Khan as Ravan and Kriti Sanon as Sita. Sunny Singh plays the role of Laxman. T-Series is producing this epic flick.

Another minister joins anti-AP tirade
Telangana minister Niranjan Reddy joined the chorus of the TRS leaders criticising Andhra Pradesh in the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Scheme issue. He said the project was illegal and that the Telangana government would stop it at any cost. He said the very formation of Andhra Pradesh state was a conspiracy and said that AP was formed to rob Telangana of its rightful share of waters.
Reddy said that Mahabubnagar was the biggest loser due to the formation of Andhra Pradesh. He said while the projects being taken up by the Telangana government were legal, but those of AP were illegal. He said those who had resorted to robbing of Telangana’s rightful share of water were criticising KCR today. Reddy further said that the AP was not bothered about the interests of Telangana and was not taking Telangana’s needs into account. He said that as per the AP reorganisation Act, AP has to obtain permission from Telangana to take up new projects. It was to protect the interests of Telangana that KCR had begun works on the Jogulamba barrage.
Stating that Telangana would wage a relentless battle to protect its irrigation interests, Niranjan Reddy said that it is incumbent upon the Central government to stop the illegal irrigation projects being set up by the AP government.
Photoshoots & Look Tests Going On For NTR’s Next Project!
Young Tiger NTR is back to work again. Sources claim that he completed a minor schedule of ‘RRR’ and did a photoshoot for his next project. If you are guessing that these trials are for his next movie with Koratala Siva, you are mistaken. It is reportedly for the shooting of his television program ‘Melo Evaru Koteeswarudu’.
Apparently, NTR has been doing dress rehearsals and photoshoots all day in order to find out the best look for him. This look will be carried on for the entire run of the popular television show this season. Rumours say that the look hasn’t been finalised as of now but it will be done in the next few days.
The shooting of ‘MEK’ was supposed to start already but the second wave of Coronavirus pushed the filming further. News is that NTR will be wrapping up his work of ‘RRR’ by the end of July and will start working on the episodes of this well-known television show. Sources say that the shooting of Koratala Siva’s project will kick-start from August too. As we know, ‘Evaru Meelo Koteeswarudu’ was hosted by Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi in the past but it is changed as ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’ and it will be telecasted in TV soon.
MAA president Naresh responds to Nagababu’s comments
Naresh, president of the Movie Artists ‘Association, said that the remarks made by actor Nagababu about MAA were very hurtful.
Naresh Media came forward on Saturday morning as a counter to the media conference recently arranged by actor Prakash Raj introducing his panel. He named the development programs undertaken by him so far as President.
He said that Prakash Raj is a good friend of his. Three months ago he called Naresh and said he wanted to compete in this year’s election.
“I said that anyone who acts in Telugu movies can compete. Manchu Vishnu is also fighting in this year’s election. Anyone is welcome. ‘MAA’ is not a political system. Chiranjeevi, Krishnam Raju, Krishna and many other film personalities have established it step by step. All previous presidents have worked hard for ‘MAA’ development,” Naresh said.
He also added that the present members of the General Body joined the Prakash Raj Panel before the end of their tenure.
