AP Reports First Case of Delta Plus Variant
The Delta Plus variant is slowly emerging as a big concern to the country. The list of states to have reported the infections of the Delta Plus variant is growing bigger. After northern states, the southern states are also reporting the infections.
The first case of the new variant was reported from Andhra Pradesh and the government had acknowledged it. The person underwent treatment and he had recovered from the variant.
Andhra Pradesh’s State Medical and Health Minister Alla Nani said the first infection was reported from Tirupati, a few days back. He was provided with the treatment and he is ok now.
The Minister said, no transmission of variants took place from the person. He was given the proper treatment. All the required measures were taken to be ready to tackle the Black Fungus and Delta Variant plus infections, he said.
So far the states like Maharashtra, Kerala, Delhi, and Madhya Pradesh have reported infections of the Delta Plus variant. The first death caused by the Delta Plus variant was reported in Maharashtra.

KARIMNAGAR: With the local BJP leaders showing him overwhelming support, Eatala Rajender expressed confidence that the constituents of Huzurabad are solidly behind him and are ready to bless him once again in the upcoming bypoll. Targeting the ruling TRS party, the newly-inducted member of the saffron brigade said the byelection would be a fight between good and evil, and he is ready for ‘Kurukshetram’.
Speaking at the BJP party coordination meeting in Huzurabad, in the presence of Dubbaka MLA M Raghunandan Rao and former MP AP Jitender Reddy, he said that the ruling party was now engaged in cheap gimmicks to lure voters of the Assembly constituency.
“Everyone from Ministers to MLAs started luring people in the name of schemes. The five Ministers who are from this part of the State weren’t able to enrol even a single person during the past two and half years in these schemes which they are talking about. Everyone knows in whose hands power rests with and you are nothing but helpless when it comes to decisions making,” he said.
The former Health Minister alleged that TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao was trying to rope in all the local associations working for the government in an attempt to ensure the party’s victory in the byelection.

I Will Extend my support to Telugu People in Parliament: Maharashtra MP
Actress-turned-politician and Amravati Lok Sabha member Navneet Kaur, who recently hit the headlines with caste row, visited Tirumala temple on Friday and offered her prayers to the deity.
She addressed the media and spoke about the controversy. The Lok Sabha member said there was a conspiracy behind the issue and said, Shiv Sena candidate who lost the elections to her had filed a petition, two years after the elections.
Navneet Kaur Rana said she visited the holy shrine to offer her prayers as the Supreme Court stayed the orders issued by the Bombay High Court in her caste row.
‘I got the name from Telugu land. I want to serve the Telugu people. I will extend my support to the Telugu people in the Parliament. I prayed to God to save the people from the Covid outbreak,’ she said.
As a major sigh of relief, the Supreme Court issued orders to stay the Bombay High Court orders to cancel the Scheduled Caste certificate of the MP, she submitted for the 2019 elections.
Akshay Kumar all set for Rakshasudu Hindi remake
Rakshasudu, which is an official remake of the 2018 blockbuster Tamil film Raatchasan, had given a break to Bellamkonda Srinivas from his failure streak. The film garnered excellent reviews from both critics and the audience.
We know Havish, who backed the film under his banner, planned to remake it in Hindi. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar was on the board in the Hindi remake of Rakshasudu but because of the coronavirus pandemic, the film was halted.
The latest update is that Havish sold the remake rights of Rakshasudu Akshay Kumar for a whopping Rs 2.7 crore. The Padman actor is all set to play the lead role in the remake of the film.
Ramesh Varma, who handled the Telugu remake as the director, is rumoured to be doing a Hindi remake as well, but it seems to be untrue. Bollywood is predicting that this psycho-thriller genre movie will definitely have absolute success in Hindi and enjoy sensational collections.
Telangana begins vaccine drive for citizens aged above 30, teachers and non-teaching staff
HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has begun vaccination drives for teachers and non-teaching staff of schools and colleges and for the general public above the age of 30 years. These vaccines will be given free of cost and are both via walk-in and prior registration on CoWin portal.
According to officials, if one is a teacher below the age of 30 years, they could bring in their ID card and letter from HOD and get vaccinated at the nearest Primary Health Centre. Citizens above the age of 30 years can also head to the vaccination centre and take the shot.
Private schools begin COVID vaccine drive for teachers, staff
Soon after the State government announced that teachers will be returning to work, several private schools including Pallavi Model School, Oakridge International School, and Nasr School started free vaccination drives, especially for teachers.
“The teachers and the staff are definitely at more risk as they will have to attend classes in person, which is why these vaccination drives are going on, in order to get all the teaching and non-teaching staff vaccinated. The drive is still going on at SR group of institutions, Akshara schools, and Delhi Public schools,” said Shekhar Rao, Telangana Recognised Schools Management Association’s president.
“Today, around 20,00 staffers, both teaching and non-teaching, staff got vaccinated at various vaccination centers. However, the number is increasing daily and we are anticipating a better response in the coming days,” added Shekhar.
There are more than four lakhs teaching staff of both teaching and non-teaching personnel in the State, who will be joining the institute in person from Friday, as per the State government’s directions. In this regard, all the DIEOs are requested to instruct all the principals, to make arrangements for the reopening of colleges. Further to supervise cleaning fogging and sanitisation of all classrooms by taking help of local bodies.
Chief Secretary visits Monda Market
Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar said that around 96 lakh jabs have been given so far in the State and it is set to cross the one crore mark in a couple of days. The State government has taken up vaccination of high exposure groups on a priority basis. So far, 25 lakh such citizens have been vaccinated.
The CS visited Monda Market on Thursday and inspected the “workplace” vaccination centre. He interacted with street vendors and motivated them to get vaccinated.
