అఖండ.. ఇంటర్వెల్ బ్లాక్ మైండ్ బ్లాక్ అవుతుందిట

Share

Telugu regional parties back Modi on farmers’ stir

Share

The Black Day sponsored by some anti-BJP political parties and farmers groups on May 26 seems to be exposing the political games of the major regional parties in the two Telugu states. Interestingly, none of the regional parties in the Telugu states are supporting the Black Day being organised to mark the completion of six months of the farmers’ stir.

KCR has not come out with any statement supporting the Black Day. Instead, he is maintaining studious silence. KTR who normally is given the task of criticising the BJP, has perhaps been asked to remain silent. On this issue. At the same time, AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy too is silent on the issue. Clearly, both the ruling regional parties are not with the other opposition parties.

But the real surprise is Chandrababu Naidu and his TDP. Even TDP, which normally opposes everything that Jagan does, is one with him. Even the TDP is not backing the Black Day. It has not signed on the declaration brought out by the Opposition parties. In fact, it was Chandrababu Naidu, who had led the formation of an anti-BJP front before the 2019 elections. But, he himself is absent in the list of signitaries.

Clearly, Chandrababu Naidu, who is eager to mend fences with the BJP leadership, does not want to take a risk. So, Chandrababu Naidu has played safe and did not even make an attempt to talk about the farmers’ strike. Meanwhile, Congress Party, which once strongly supported the farm bills while it was in power, is now one of its strong opponents. It is in fact leading the non-BJP parties on the issue of the farmers stir.

Oppo Reno 6 Pro+ Spotted on Geekbench Ahead of May 27 Launch, Specifications Leaked

Share

Oppo Reno 6 Pro+ has now been spotted on Geekbench further leaking specifications of the phone, ahead of the anticipated launch of the phone as a part of the Oppo Reno 6 series launch on May 27 in China. The Oppo Reno 6, Oppo Reno 6 Pro, and Oppo Reno 6 Pro+ are the three phones that are expected to debut, and the phones have been listed on JD.com and Suning ahead of going official. The Oppo Reno 6 Pro+ is rumoured to be the most premium model of the three.

The Oppo Reno 6 Pro+ was spotted on certification site Geekbench, with the model number PENM00. The listing tips that the phone is powered by a processor codenamed ‘kona’. Earlier rumours had suggested that the Oppo Reno 6 Pro+ would be powered by the Snapdragon 870 SoC. However, this premium model could also feature the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, given that the previous version, the Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ 5G, is powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC. The ‘kona’ chipset is listed to have a base frequency of 1.8GHz and an octa-core CPU.

The benchmarking site has also listed the Oppo Reno 6 Pro+ to run on Android 11 software and pack 12GB of RAM. The phone scored 4649 single-core points and 12712 multi-core points on Geekbench.

PS5 India Restock: PlayStation 5 Pre-Orders Restart On May 27

Share

PlayStation 5 restocks are here sooner than anyone expected. The Sony Center official website ShopAtSC has announced that the PS5 will be available again for pre-order on Thursday, May 27 at 12pm (noon), just 10 days after the previous round of orders. These next wave of PlayStation 5 orders will be processed from June 7 onwards, ShopAtSC says, though delays are expected depending on local COVID-19 restrictions on deliveries of non-essential items where you live. Sony Center is currently only advertising the PS5 for May 27, and there is no mention of the PS5 Digital Edition.

For now, ShopAtSC is the only website to announce the next wave of PlayStation 5 pre-orders for India. Others including Amazon, Croma, Flipkart, Games The Shop, Prepaid Gamer Card, Reliance Digital, and Vijay Sales are likley to be involved as well based on earlier pre-orders. Considering how soon the PS5 is back in stock in India, the new batch of PS5 units that are being made available are no doubt part of the same import shipment as those that were released to the public last Monday, May 17. The PS5 stock sold out in seconds at that time, with some websites failing to even load, and the experience is unlikely to be much better now as demand continues to lead supply.

Sony Center also notes, as it has before, that those who have previously bought a PlayStation 5 on its website will not be allowed to purchase another unit. That restriction stands even if you bought a PS5 Digital Edition last time around. The one-unit restriction also applies to all new PS5 pre-orders on Thursday, May 27. You can buy multiple accessories and games though, for what that’s worth. ShopAtSC, like most other online retailers, also requires you to create an account to buy the PS5.

Another Day, Another Record Broken By Sai Pallavi!

Share

There are a few things that are quite inevitable in this world and Sai Pallavi’s song getting hundreds of millions of views is one of them. Every song starting from ‘Vachinde’ in ‘Fidaa’ to the latest ‘Saranga Dariya’ in ‘Love Story’ got record-breaking views.

While ‘Evandoi Nani Garu’ passed 120 million mark, her ‘Rody Baby’ from ‘Maari 2’ became the first South Indian song to touch 1 Billion views on Youtube. Though the complete video song is yet to be released, the lyrical video of ‘Saranga Dariya’ has now crossed 200 million views.

The sung is beautifully composed by Pawan Ch, Mangli’s voice is a huge asset and lyrics by veteran Suddala Ashok Teja are wonderful. But it is the presence of Sai Pallavi and her craze which pushed a mere lyrical video towards the 200 million mark. The song came out on 28th February and touched 50 million views within 14 days which was a huge record. After crossing 200 million views, we need to wait and see how far it goes by the time the film releases.

‘Love Story’ directed by Sekhar Kammula was supposed to release by the end of April but got postponed due to the second wave. Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi are the lead actors in this film.

Raghurama to walk free only after 4 days

Share

Despite the Supreme Court’s ruling that renegade YSRCP MP Raghuramakrishnam Raju be given the bail, it could take another four days for the MP to walk free. According to Raghuramakrishnam Raju’s counsel Lakshminarayana, there are several procedural issues and that the release could actually happen four days later.

He said that a sureties petition was filed in the trial court as per the orders of the Supreme Court. The judge has sought a discharge summary. For Raghurama to get discharged from the hospital, it would take another four days. Only after that, a sureties petition can be filed, he said. He said that till then Raghurama Krishnam Raju may have to stay in the prison.

Raghuramakrishnam Raju, who had won on a YSRCP ticket turned into an opponent of YS Jagan. Recently, the AP Government arrested him on charges of sedition. Challenging this, Raghurama sought bail. When the High Court refused to consider his plea and asked him to go to a lower court, he went to the Supreme court and secured a bail.

Vaccinate at least 10 per cent of population by September in every country: WHO

Share

GENEVA: At the opening of the World Health Organization’s main annual assembly on Monday, Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus hailed the sacrifices made by health workers around the world to battle the pandemic.

At least 115,000 health and care workers have died from Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, the WHO chief said Monday, calling for a dramatic scale-up of vaccination in all countries.

The WHO chief stressed the need to urgently fix the imbalance.

“Today, I’m calling on member states to support a massive push to vaccinate at least 10 percent of the population of every country by September,” he said, calling for the coverage to be expanded to 30 percent by the end of the year.

“For almost 18 months, health and care workers all over the world have stood in the breach between life and death,” he said.

“They have saved countless lives and fought for others who, despite their best efforts, slipped away.

“Many have themselves become infected, and while reporting is scant, we estimate that at least 115,000 health and care workers have paid the ultimate price in the service of others.”

He said many health workers have since the start of the crisis felt “frustrated, helpless and unprotected, with a lack of access to personal protective equipment and vaccines.”

And they are not alone. He described the overall inequity in access to vaccines as “scandalous”, warning it was “perpetuating the pandemic.”

More than 75 percent of all Covid-19 vaccines have gone to just 10 countries.

“The number of doses administered globally so far would have been enough to cover all health workers and older people if they had been distributed equitably,” he said.

“There is no diplomatic way to say it: that small group of countries that make and buy the majority of the world’s vaccines control the fate of the rest of the world.”

He urged those countries that have large stocks of vaccines to share them, and greater cooperation to scale up production and distribution of the jabs.

The WHO and others have created Covax, a global vaccine-sharing programme, but it remains severely underfunded and has faced significant supply shortages, delaying efforts to roll out jabs in poorer countries.

“We have shipped every single one of the 72 million doses we have been able to get our hands on so far to 125 countries and economies,” Tedros said.

But he lamented that those doses were only enough to barely cover one percent of the combined populations in those countries.

Sri Lanka set for week-long lockdown as COVID-19 cases surge

Share

COLOMBO: Sri Lankans are set to enter a seven-day lockdown period starting Tuesday, as the country continues to register record numbers of COVID-19 deaths and infections.

“We will only relax the current travel restrictions at 4 am tomorrow (May 25).

This will enable people to buy their essentials but no vehicular movement will be allowed,” Army chief and Head of COVID-19 Prevention Task Force Shavendra Silva said on Monday.

The restrictions will be again reinforced at 11 pm tomorrow and will be continued till May 31, he said.

Silva said similarly the first week of June will also be in lockdown, though exceptions are to be made on June 4 and 7.

Sri Lanka has been under a semi-lockdown the whole of May, with a complete ban on gatherings, including weddings, schools and offices.

Only people in essential services are allowed to travel.

Public bus and train services have been suspended.

All inbound international passenger flights are also suspended.

The tough restrictions have been implemented after a tremendous spike in cases following the Sinhalese New Year in mid-April.

Sri Lanka recorded its highest single-day fatalities from COVID-19 on Saturday last at 46 deaths.

As per the latest official data, the country’s COVID-19 death toll stands at 1,210 and total cases at 164,201.

Since May 1, the country has recorded over 56,000 cases.

Top medical associations have demanded a blanket lockdown for at least two weeks to stop the chain of transmission.

Meanwhile, the police said over 600 people have been arrested in the last week for violating lockdown rules.
