Netflix pays big bucks for Viraat Parvam’s digital rights

Viraata Parvam, starring Sai Pallavi and Rana Daggubati in the lead roles is in final leg of production. The film is slated for theatrical release on 30th of April but there are rumors that it might be postponed to a later date.

Coming to the topic, Netflix has apparently paid big bucks for the digital rights of Viraata Parvam.

As per reports, Netflix shelled out Rs 11 crores for the digital rights of the film and the makers have signed an agreement already. The renowned digital streaming platform now owns the Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam digital rights of the Sai Pallavi and Rana starrer.

Both Rana and Sai Pallavi are known faces in South India and that is the reason why Netflix paid a fairly good price for Viraata Parvam’s rights.

Venu Udugula is directing the periodic rural drama and Sudhakar Cherukuri is producing it. Suresh Bobbili is composing the music.

Ever since YS Sharmila, the sister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, announced that she would be starting a political party in Telangana. Many started saying that she is launching her own party because of her anger towards her brother not giving her enough prominence in his party.

A lot of publicity is being done about Sharmila’s party, and reports about several prominent political leaders planning to join the party are also doing the rounds. However, sources say that no one except those who are not part of any political party are being seen around lotus pond. This became a major point of trolling on social media.

On the other hand, recently, Sharmila met with some university students, and nearly 200 students turned up to meet her, from God knows where. One of those students, when speaking to Sharmila, said that he has no father and started crying, saying that Sharmila ‘akka’ should come to power. To this, Sharmila too replied in a very dramatic way, with tears of joy in her eyes. She said that she would get into politics and get a stronghold, and would make sure that all those who need support will get it from her. Later on, it came to light that this man who cried is a performing artist in the Calvary church. This attracted a lot of unwanted attention towards Sharmila, and the matter turned out to be a comedy for everyone, with people questioning the need for theatrical publicity for Sharmila.

It was said that the name of the party would be announced, and that the party would be officially launched on April 9th, at a gathering of lakhs of people in Khammam, and that the parties aims and details would be revealed on July 8th, at a gathering of 5 Lakh people, in Hyderabad. When asked where this gathering would be organised, the reply was LB Stadium, whose capacity is just 30,000. So, the logistics of fitting 5 Lakh people into that stadium became shocking and comical.

Sharmila’s publicity strategies are very similar to the strategies of the YSRCP. However, since Sharmila does not have the backup of media in Telangana, like YSRCP has the support of Sakshi in Andhra Pradesh, it is being very easy to pick apart Sharmila’s words and her publicity techniques.

Sharwanand’s Sreekaram gets a clean ‘U’ certificate from CBFC

Sharwanand‘s upcoming rural drama ‘Sreekaram‘ has created a lot of buzz ever since its inception. The makers of the film on Wednesday revealed that the film received a clean ‘U’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification.

Touted to be a family drama, the film is set on issues of farmers, which is currently a burning topic in the country.

A debutant director Kishore Reddy helmed the film, while Gang Leader actress Priyanka Mohan plays the female lead in Sreekaram. Bankrolled by 14 Reels Plus, the film has music from Mickey J Meyer and J Yuvaraj for cinematography and Marthand K Venkatesh for editing.

Apart from the lead pair, Sreekaram also features Sai Kumar, Murali Sharma, Rao Ramesh, Naresh and Aamani in major roles. It is slated to release on March 11, on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. The Trailer of the flick will be out soon.

AP High Court dismissed the re-notification orders of SEC

The AP High court gave a huge shock to SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar. The court quashed the orders issued by the SEC allowing re-nominations in the municipal elections. The High Court also quashed orders to seize the volunteers’ tabs.

The SEC has allowed re-nominations for 14 wards in Tirupati, Punganur, Rayachoti, and Erraguntla. It has also directed to seize the volunteers’ tabs till the end of elections. Against this backdrop, the Jagan government challenged these decisions in court and the court finally dismissed the orders.

In Chittoor district, 6 in Tirupati, 3 in Punganur, and in Kadapa district, 2 in Rayachoti, and 3 in Erraguntla wards were given the opportunity to re-nominate for the Municipal polls.

The government has challenged in the high court the orders given by the SEC to keep ward volunteers away from municipal elections and seize their mobiles. The state government has filed a Lunch motion petition on SEC orders in the AP High court.

On the other hand, Nimmagadda has issued key directions to the collectors on municipal polls nomination withdrawal. He made it clear that the nominations should not be withdrawn without the presence of the candidate and the entire withdrawal process should be videotaped.

He said that the Election Commission had received complaints from the opposition parties about the forced withdrawal of the nominations. Under these grounds, SEC has taken this decision.

Pooja Hegde joins Acharya shoot

For the unversed, Pooja Hegde is pairing with Ram Charan in Acharya. The latest reports suggest that Pooja has joined Acharya shoot today and her combination scenes with Ram Charan are being shot now.

Pooja has reportedly joined Acharya unit in Maredumilli today and she received a warm welcome from the cast and crew.

This schedule will go on for another week or so and the unit will then be returning to Hyderabad to commence what could be one of the final schedules.

Ram Charan plays a studen union leader named Siddha in Acharya and Pooja Hegde will be seen as his love interest. The duo previously shared the screen space for a special item song ‘Jigelu Rani’ in Rangasthalam.

Acharya is slated for theatrical release on 13th of May and the makers are planning to wrap the forthcoming schedules at a brisk pace. Koratala Siva is helming the social drama and Matinee Entertainments are bankrolling it in association with Konidela Productions.

The ruling TRS in Telangana is coming under severe criticism over the way in which the memorial for Telangana movement’s chief ideologue Prof. Jayashankar is being readied up. The biggest criticism is that there are more idols of KCR and KTR rather than those of Jayashankar in the memorial garden which is being constructed in Warangal.

Sources say that there are only three statues of Prof Jayashankar in the whole garden while there are more statues of KCR. Even when there is an image of Prof.Jayashankar, it is usually overshadowed by KCR and sometimes even by KTR. Several citizens are questioning the role of KTR in the Telangana movement. They say he is a late entrant and his contribution is minimal. They are also pointing out that it is because of the contribution of Prof. Jayashankar that KCR could build up the movement for Telangana. Several people point out that several leaders of the Telangana movement, who were part of the initial campaign are also not to be seen in the frescos. The role of leaders like Prof. Kodandaram and others has been completely obliterated, they claim.

Prof Jayashankar was the chief ideologue of the movement for a separate Telangana. He had worked hard to build an ideological basis for the movement. It was his intellectual inputs that helped KCR to raise key issues during the movement.

Despite being a remake of the Hindi film ‘Pink’, ‘Vakeel Saab’ is undoubtedly one of the biggest movies which are about to hit the screens this year. It marks the return of Pawan Kalyan to the silver screen and fans cannot wait for that moment to arrive. The film is slated for release on 9th April and Pawan will be seen as a lawyer in this courtroom drama.

The makers made a lot of changes to suit Pawan’s image and insiders say that the film is doing tremendous business. Reports suggest that the non-theatrical rights of this film excluding the Hindi dubbing rights went for 31 crores which is quite huge. Since it is a remake of Hindi film ‘Pink’, we need to see if they buy the Hindi dubbing rights for a heavy price or not.

Apparently, the Zee network bought the satellite rights while a popular OTT platform grabbed the digital rights. The official details are yet to come out. On the other hand, the overseas rights of Pawan-Krish project were bought for a whopping 15 crores. We need to get more information regarding it but it seems like Dil Raju and Boney Kapoor have struck gold with ‘Vakeel Saab’.

The second song ‘Sathyameva Jayathe’ is a fast-paced song and the lyrics are perfectly suited for Pawan Kalyan. The song is crooned by Shankar Mahadevan, Prithvi Chandhra and S Thaman which has lyrics by Ramjogayya Sastry.

Thaman has given perfect music, making the fans wait for a worth one for about a year after the first single Maguva Maguva in March 2020. Undoubtedly, goosebumps guaranteed for Pawan Kalyan’s fans and followers out there.
