Pawan Kalyan does what no one else cared to do
The privatisation of Visakha Steel Plant hasn’t sat well with anyone belonging to Andhra Pradesh, and definitely not with the people belonging to Visakhapatnam. The steel plant has been a matter of pride and honor for the people of Visakhapatnam forever, and thousands of lives are dependent on the plant.
The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, has written a letter to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, a few days ago, stating that the privatisation of the steel plant is not the best idea and that it should be reconsidered.
However, this letter has been met with a lot of criticism, with everyone calling out Jagan for being a coward and writing just a letter, and not doing anything substantial to make sure the plant is not privatised.
TDP Chief and ex-CM of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu has also done nothing in the matter, and has been restricted to being in the state. People and political activists have called him out for not saying anything in the matter, despite boasting of his political experience.
While all of the prominent people who wield a lot of power in the state have chosen to remain silent, Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan has met with Amit Shah and several others in Delhi, and discussed the privatisation of the Visakha Steel Plant.
He is also said to have discussed other issues as well, but Visakha Steel Plant was reportedly the central topic of interest. Pawan Kalyan has released a statement since, saying that the reaction in Delhi has been favourable.
While it is good to hear that the reaction in Delhi has been favourable, about not privatising the Visakha Steel Plant, it doesn’t undermine the fact that the central government will not privatise the plant.
Stating the same opinion, Jana Sena member Nadendla Manohar said that the YSRCP should show a united front to the Central Government, and should go to Delhi and make sure that the center does not privatise the steel plant at any cost.
Ram Charan Locked Two Directors For His Next Two Films
While many young actors in Tollywood have lined up at least a couple of films for their next, Mega Powerstar Ram Charan has not locked his next project yet. The Magadheera actor is currently busy with Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR and Koratala Siva’s Acharya.
However, for a long time now, many star directors are in talks with Ram Charan regarding his next project. So far, going by the reports, Charan has evinced his interest to work with director Shankar and Gowtam Tinnanuri.
According to the sources close to the actor, an official announcement on #RC15 will be out soon. Now, the insides reports clarified that Charan has locked both Shankar and Gowtam Tinnanuri for his next two projects.
In a few days, the official word on these two projects will be made. It remains to be seen who will direct #RC15 and #RC16 and who will be Charan’s priority between the two.

మంత్రులు, ఎమ్మెల్యేలు, ఎంపీలు.. ముఖ్యమంత్రి కూడా ప్రజలకు చేసేది సేవ మాత్రమే. రాజకీయాల్లోకి వచ్చేదే ప్రజా సేవ చేయడం కోసం.. ప్రతిఫలం ఆశించకుండా సేవ చేస్తారు ప్రజా ప్రతినిథులు, రాజకీయ నాయకులు. వారికీ వేతనాలు అందుతున్నాయి కదా.. అదీ లక్షల్లో.
ప్రభుత్వ వ్యవస్థలో సలహాదారుల గురించి ప్రత్యేకంగా చెప్పుకోవాలి. ‘అయినవారికి’ ఆ పదవులు కట్టబెట్టడం ద్వారా కోట్లాది రూపాయల ప్రజా ధనం వారి ‘సలహాలకోసం’ వెచ్చిస్తోంది ప్రభుత్వం. సంక్షేమ పథకాల పేరుతో ఎడా పెడా డబ్బులు వెదజల్లుతున్న ప్రభుత్వానికి, వాలంటీర్ల వ్యవస్థ భారంగా మారిపోతుందా.? ఆ వాలంటీర్లంటే అంత చులకన భావం ఏర్పడిందా.? సరే, వాలంటీర్లంతా వైసీపీ కార్యకర్తలేనా.? కాదా.? అన్నది వేరే చర్చ.
ప్రభుత్వం ప్రవేశపెడుతున్న సంక్షేమ పథకాల్ని ఇంటింటికీ చేరవేసే బాధ్యతని వాలంటీర్లు తీసుకుంటున్నారు. ఈ క్రమంలో వాళ్ళు పడుతున్న కష్టం అంతా ఇంతా కాదు. తమ చేతిలో నెలకి ఐదు వేలు మాత్రమే భృతి పడుతున్నా.. ప్రతి నెలా లక్షలాది రూపాయలను పెన్షన్లు, ఇతరత్రా సంక్షేమ పథకాల కోసం పంచుతున్నారు వాలంటీర్లు.
వేతనాలు పెంచండి, మమ్మల్ని గుర్తించండి.. అని వాలంటీర్లు ప్రభుత్వాన్ని వేడుకోవడం అత్యంత బాధాకరమైన విషయం. ఊరిలో ఉపాధి దొరక్క, వాలంటీర్లుగా కాలం నెట్టుకొస్తున్నవారికి, ‘నచ్చితే చేయండి, నచ్చకపోతే మానెయ్యండి..’ అన్నట్టుగా ప్రభుత్వం తరఫున చీదరింపు ఎదురవడం దురదృష్టకరం.
కోట్లకు పడగలెత్తిన ప్రజా ప్రతినిథులు, సలహాదారులు.. తమ వేతనాల్ని వదులుకుని అయినా, వాలంటీర్ల పట్ల దయ చూపాలనే డిమాండ్ కూడా తెరపైకొస్తుండడం గమనార్హం. అయినా.. వాలంటీర్ల గురించి గొప్పగా ప్రచారం చేసుకుంటున్న జగన్ సర్కార్, వాళ్ళనెందుకిలా రోడ్డున పడేసిందట.? ఇక్కడ విపక్షాల కుట్ర ఏముంది.? అన్నిటికీ నెపాన్ని విపక్షాల మీద నెట్టేయాలనే ఆలోచనతో ప్రభుత్వ పెద్దలు వుంటే, అంతకన్నా హాస్యాస్పదం ఇంకోటుండదు.

Farmer police stations to be set up in Andhra Pradesh soon
VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed officials to ensure various legislations, brought by the government to safeguard the interests of the farmers and aquaculturists, are not violated. He also advocated measures to be initiated to ensure farmers do not get cheated.
Addressing a review meeting with higher officials of agriculture and allied sectors at his camp office on Tuesday, he asked the agriculture department officials to coordinate with the police department for drafting an action plan for setting up special police stations for farmers. In an earlier review meeting, the Chief Minister had mooted the idea of ‘farmer’ police stations to protect their interests.
He said awareness should be created among tenant farmers under Polambadi programme on cultivator rights Acts and also that they won’t have any problem with crop cultivator rights card and posters with this information should be displayed in Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs).
The Chief Minister said hoardings should be placed at RBKs, village clinics and village secretariats with details of services being provided so that awareness will be created among people. He said steps should be taken for setting up an insurance company on behalf of the government for crop insurance and a special officer should be appointed for it.
The CM said steps must be taken for payment of insurance money for Kharif 2020–21. He directed officials to release the first tranche of Rythu Bharosa Scheme in May and said special focus should be on organic farming with crops to be purchased under RBKs and added that regular monitoring should be done on the same. He stressed on the message that millers should come directly to RBKs to buy the crop should be strongly conveyed.
Later, Jagan reviewed the AP Amul Project and also on setting up of Aqua hubs. He also reviewed fund pooling and setting up of multi-purpose facility centers.
Reviewing Janatha Bazaars, he discussed the proposals for setting them up in an area of 500-5,000 sqft. It was decided to set up Janata Bazaars for a population of 5,000 in the first phase and have buildings constructed to house them.
Jagan said quality items should be available in Janata Bazaars at lower prices. He said farmers should get a minimum support price for their produce and the same should be made available to consumers at lower prices, benefitting both farmers and consumers.
Angela Merkel, German governors to decide on extending Covid-19 lockdown beyond February
BERLIN: German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the country’s 16 state governors are to decide Wednesday whether to extend a lockdown beyond mid-February, as overall infection numbers are declining but concern is high over cases of new variants.
Germany’s second lockdown began in November and was extended and toughened before Christmas as numbers of COVID-19 patients threatened to overwhelm hospitals.
It is set to end on February 14, but authorities are expected to extend it again — keeping bars, restaurants and most stores closed, among other things.
The reopening of schools is certain to be a major point of controversy as many favor the quick reopening of kindergartens and elementary schools to take the burden of home schooling off of parents and make sure that underprivileged children don’t fall behind.
In Germany, state governments have extensive powers — including authority over education.
On the other hand, the country’s stressed medical staff are demanding that the lockdown be extended in its current strict form.
The head of the German intensive care association, DIVI, warned Wednesday that the reopening of schools and kindergartens would lead to the re-emergence of virus cases.
“Schools and kindergartens are unfortunately places where the virus is passed on,” Gernot Marx told daily Rheinische Post.
“The kids carry it into the families and most teachers are not vaccinated. As an intensive care doctor I am therefore telling you: this is irresponsible.”
The country’s national disease control center said last week that the more contagious variant first observed in Britain has now been detected in most of Germany’s 16 states.
The variant first detected in South Africa has also been found several times in Germany.
Despite concerns about the new variants, there are signs that lockdown restrictions are slowing the country’s outbreak.
On Wednesday, the disease control center, the Robert Koch Institute, reported 8,072 new virus cases and 813 deaths over the past 24 hours.
In all, Germany has seen over 63,000 confirmed virus deaths.
The weekly number of newly infections has dropped to 68 per 100,000 inhabitants .
The government’s goal is to push the number below 50 to enable reliable contact-tracing.
It peaked at nearly 200 just before Christmas.
The number of people having received at least their first vaccine shot stood at 2.34 million people, or 2.8 per cent of the population, as of Monday.

Chandrababu Naidu: Fall of YSRCP has begun
Telugu Desam Party national president and former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu has said that the first phase of Grama panchayat results in Andhra Pradesh is the beginning of the fall of the YCP.
He criticized YCP leaders for campaigning that YCP has won 94 percent of seats and TDP won 38 percent of seats in the first phase of panchayat polls.
He said that the TDP is in the hearts of the AP people. YCP leaders have been criticized for speaking against the constitutional systems.
Chandrababu was incensed that All India Service officials were being threatened and that a case had been filed against Kollu Ravindra, a TDP leader who had done nothing wrong.
