Akshay Kumar’s Viral Gutka Remark at Jolly LLB 3 Launch
Bollywood’s association with pan masala and gutka brands has long been a controversial subject, with several top stars facing backlash for endorsing harmful products while earning massive paychecks.
However, Akshay Kumar recently set himself apart with a firm stand against gutka consumption. At the Jolly LLB 3 trailer launch in Kanpur, when asked about the city’s infamous gutka connection, the actor promptly replied, “Gutka nahi khana chahiye” (One should not consume gutka).
When the journalist pushed the point further, Akshay snapped back, saying, “Interview mera hai ya tumhara? Main bol raha hoon, gutka nahi khana chahiye, that’s it. Next question.” (Is this my interview or yours? I’m saying one should not consume gutka, that’s it. Next question).
The video of Akshay’s sharp response quickly went viral, sparking debates on social media. While many Bollywood stars are usually trolled for promoting pan masalas, Akshay drew attention for flipping the script — shutting down the reporter instead. The moment also revived memories of his own past endorsement controversy.
On the work front, Jolly LLB 3 brings back Akshay Kumar as Jolly Mishra, locking horns with Arshad Warsi’s rival Jolly in a gripping courtroom drama. Saurabh Shukla also returns as the beloved Judge Tripathi. Packed with witty exchanges and intense arguments, the film is all set for a grand theatrical release on September 19, 2025.
