Will they get back in form with WFL?
It has been sometime since Vijay Deverakonda has bagged a hit, and undoubtedly, he is desperate to get one. Dear Comrade has been disappointed at the box office.Hero is a film that has been doing rounds since sometime and there was a controversy surrounding it for a long time due to a clash of the title. The latest report is that the project has been shelved, yet an official confirmation is awaited.
And now, finally, the time for his next film has come. When the teaser of World Famous Lover was released, it looked pretty much like a reloaded version of Arjun Reddy. And now, the trailer raised expectations all over.Initially, there wasn’t much buzz on WFL. But now, looks like his fans are showing some interest in knowing more about the film. Director Kranthi Madhav’s last film Ungarala Rambabu is such a disaster at the box office. So both actor and director are desperate to bag a hit.
It is evident that one of the character’s Vijay plays in the film has a lot to talk about lust. So there might be an influence of Arjun Reddy, and his character on this World Famous Lover.Let us leave the judgement to audiences now for the film which is slated for release on February 14.

When a heroine appears on the screen for the very first time in that particular film, and if that presence brings a blast in theatres, it means that there is something special about her. Especially when it is not a woman centric film, it is understood that the actress has a top place. Such is actress Samantha Akkineni.
Since the last couple of years, the actress has been on the top most place of actresses in the industry and she’s been doing some amazing roles that she has never even looked at before. With back to back blockbusters, the actress has increased her image in the market. With every role she has been playing, she has scale heights.
Also, audiences are now walking into the theatres with a blind belief that when Samantha is there in a film, there is something special to offer. It is very rare that a heroine gets this kind of image, craze and stardom within a less span of time. Meanwhile, with the response she is receiving at the theatres, even audiences are shocked. Feels nice to her isn’t it?
In Majili, which released last year, Samantha’s entry happens just before the interval. All those people who have waited for her entry, have screamed out loud when she was seen. Even a star hero wouldn’t have got such a great welcome and applause to their entry on screen and this was surprising to many. To be frank, it is Samantha who receiving amazing response in the film more than her husband Naga Chaitanya.
Now something similar is happening in the case of Jaanu too. Sharwanand has his own image, but it is Sam who has bagged the applause for her entry, yet again. In this film too, Sam’s entry as Janaki Devi takes a lot of time, but then too, she has grabbed all the attention. Though the film is classy, the response she managed to earn in multiplexes also is quite shocking.
Better late than never, all we have to say is, “Samantha Sir… Samantha anthey!”
Bringing Openings is Vijay’s Big Challenge
Vijay Deverakonda is a heartthrob to young women, he has an immense fan following youngsters. But his choice of scripts and doing films that are no match to his stardom has pulled down his status as a star.Although he has now started an aggressive promotion to upcoming release “World Famous Lover”, there are doubts whether this film would set the box-office on fire on an opening day.
These days, getting massive openings in the first weekend has become crucial. A star’s true power lies in pulling the audiences to the theaters on the first day and first weekend.Vijay Deverakonda has been acting in films where the director’s name doesn’t generate excitement in the audience. “World Famous Lover” is directed by Kranthi Madhav who is not a big name.
The reason why “Ala Vaikunthapurramloo” became such a blockbuster is Trivikram’s brand name. Though Allu Arjun is a big star, Trivikram’s name had generated a big craze.Vijay Deverakonda doesn’t have that luxury and he’s to prove that he still could bring openings irrespective of the director’s name.
Vijay is now even giving interviews to YouTube stars like Gangavva to pull the audiences to the theaters.
Coronavirus: Nag Looking Other Options
The outbreak of coronavirus in China has affected tourism in many countries. Even film shootings are getting canceled.According to media reports, nearly 25 countries have confirmed cases. Thailand is one of them. So, a couple of Telugu films which planned to shoot this month in Bangkok have dropped their plans.
Nagarjuna is currently working in a cop drama titled “Wild Dog”. A new director Solomon is directing it while Matinee Entertainments is producing it. The makers wanted to can a lengthy action episode in Bangkok but it has now been canceled.
Nagarjuna is looking for other options like moving to a European city or creating sets in Hyderabad. “Wild Dog” is a police drama that is scheduled for summer 2020 release. But if they wait for some more days to shoot in Thailand, they may not meet the deadline for releasing in summer.
So, Nagarjuna wants to wrap up the same portion in Hyderabad.
Allu Arjun Scraps Flop Director’s Film Completely
After “Ala Vaikunthapurramloo” smashing all records (non-Baahubali), Allu Arjun has changed his plans. He doesn’t want to take a misstep now.Before the release of “Ala Vaikunthapurramloo”, Bunny Vaasu informed the media that Allu Arjun would team up with Tamil director AR Murugadoss. The project will start rolling after Sukumar’s movie.
But now, this film is not going to happen. After the debacle of “Darbar”, Allu Arjun has got clarity.After the release of “Spyder” in 2017, all Telugu stars are staying away from him. Now, Tamilnadu distributors are seeking compensation for the losses for “Darbar”.
The name Murugadoss no longer have craze in trade circles. After the releases of “Ala Vaikunthapurramloo” and “Darbar”, equations have changed and Allu Arjun also has decided not to team up with Murugadoss now.Allu Arjun will not take up Murugadoss film at all. He will join the shoot of director Sukumar’s film from next month. After Sukumar’s film, he will work with another top Telugu director only.

That is for one single reason – the over assessment of Chandrababu Naidu and under assessment of Jaganmohan Reddy.Several senior politicians in AP have overestimated the leadership qualities and winning chances of Chandrababu Naidu in 2019 general elections. They also under estimated the winning chances of Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Finally, when the election results were out on May 23, they were proved wrong and that causes pain in the chest.The over estimation of Chandrababu Naidu was because of his proven political track record and his “successful” political strategies.Though Naidu’s success is associated with the strong and uncompromising support of the media in his favour, these leaders failed to make an assessment of the emerging social media impact, where his image had gone down several feet down.

Diwakar Reddy was very vocal in dismissing Jagan Mohan Reddy’s strength in front of Chandrababu Naidu, as he had known Jagan as a child and Naidu as a leader.But, when the child proved victorious and began paying back for his loose talk, it is causing him severe pain both in the brain and chest.Anyone who saw Diwakar Reddy lowering himself and wailing in the hands of Chandrababu Naidu this week, can make out the psychological situation of this leader.
The best thing he and others who have similar “pain in the chest and head” should come to terms with the reality and accept Jagan as a proven leader and not as a child grown up in front of their eyes.One may not have accepted Jagan before the elections or failed to assess his chances, but when the results are out and he is proved, one should accept the reality.
The reality is that the child is no more a child and the child is the leader of the State today.It is good for these leaders to admit this fact and reduce the pain in chest and brain. Or else, this pain might lead to undesirable consequences.

This is one of the hottest news from Telugu film circles. Top producer and distributor Dil Raju is getting ready to marry again.Dil Raju’s wife Anitha passed away few years ago and the star producer is re-entering wedlock shortly.
The bride is from Brahmin community and is not related to film industry in anyway.Dil Raju’s only daughter was married and he has been living alone since his wife passed away. Therefore, he decided to get married again, which is not a secret among the industry circles.
There is no official news about it as Dil Raju wants to keep it a strictly personal affair.
Anti-CAA protesters allege ill-treatment by Hyd police
Hyderabad: A group of anti-CAA protestors arrested here on Saturday night have alleged that they were ill-treated by the police during detention.Police detained 10 women and 18 men, including a journalist from Mallepally in the heart of the city during a flash protest.Those arrested including women were kept at Central Crime Station (CCS). The youths, including two minors, spent the night in the cold on the floor at the entrance of the building.
They were released on Sunday after 15-hour detention and only after they were booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for rioting, wrongful restraint, assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty and disobedience to order promulgated by public servant.Shiba Minai, one of the protestors detained by the police, told IANS that the police beat up a young boy who is regular at all the protests against Citizenship Amendment Act.
She said the arrested boys were forced to spend the night out in the cold. “They were without food for the whole night. There were mosquitoes all around. They were treated badly with policemen repeatedly pushing them and shouting at them,” she said.Minai said the police were trying to suppress the protests through this high-handedness. “They are denying permission for protests and when we are conducting peaceful flash protests they are resorting to high-handedness,” she said.
Mubashiruddin Khurram, a journalist with Urdu daily ‘Siasat’, was also detained by the police. He said he was at there to cover the protest but police forcibly picked up him saying he was behind the protest.The journalist said he was kept at the office of West Zone Task Force. He said two boys were kept in the lock-up and were treated badly.
He said four teams of officials questioned him and wanted to know why he was tweeting from protest venues.Khurram took strong exception to some comments made and questioned asked by the police officers. “One of them was saying why do you want to protest against CAA. What is wrong in NRC and NPR. You people have 50 countries. When I raised an objection he changed the topic,” he said.
The journalist said the police questioned him for being active on Twitter and also for being seen with Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Azad during the latter’s visit to the city.Activist Khalida Parveen said they were arrested despite the peaceful protest. “Except raising slogans, we did nothing but the police still detained us,” she said. The activist found fault with the police behavior saying to protest is their democratic right.

Oscars 2020: Parasite Best Picture, Joaquin Best Actor
The most-anticipated moment of the year for all the movie lovers is here. The 92nd Academy Awards have been announced. South Korean’s Parasite made history which won Best Film, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best International Feature Film categories. While many analysts, experts had predicted Sam Mendes and his war drama 1917 would take Best Director and Picture, making all those predictions wrong, Parasite swept the 92nd Academy Awards.
However, there are no surprises in acting category. Joker actor Joaquin Phoenix won the Best Actor for his outstanding performance in Joker. Renee Zellweger won Best Actress for Judy, Brad Pitt is this year’s Best Supporting Actor for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, and Laura Dern went home with the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for her performance in Marriage Story. As expected, War drama 1917 won Best Cinematography for its great camera work where the whole movie was filmed to make it seem like a single shot. It also won Best Visual Effects. Jojo Rabbit won Best Adapted Screenplay. Toy Story 4 won Best Animated Feature.
India’s Oscar entry this year, Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt had hit headlines during shortlisting stage for Best International Film. However, Gully Boy had failed to make the cut in the top-10 movies.

A Game-Changer For Manisharma’s Son?
There are various phases in the music of Telugu cinema in the modern era, as Manisharma kick started it followed by Devi Sri Prasad and Thaman. In between, we have Tamil composers like Harris Jayaraj and Yuvan Shankar Raja enthralling us along with some Telugu composers like Chakri, Gantadi and others.
Guess what, there are some composers who have couple of hits to their name but they never got the big break. There is a huge list of such names and it looks like Mani Sharma’s son Mahati is also joining that list. After he scored that Choosi Choodangane song for Chalo, many thought that he is gonna make big. But nothing such happened.

Whether that is Whatte Beauty or Sara Sari or the Singles Anthem, Sagar has done a fab job from tune to orchestration, new sounding to differently voiced singers.Hope the young composer won’t join the list of underrated composers but will emerge as a game-changer like his father. At the Hyderabad Metro service launch between Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) and Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) this happened. And here is the picture of KCR and Revanth in one frame. While KCR was cutting the ribbon, Revanth is present next to the other guests.

Ram Gopal Varma has become grandfather. RGV’s daughter Revathi Varma has delivered a baby girl. Both mother and newborn baby are healthy. Couple Revathi and Pranav, who blessed with girl child, are on cloud nine. Usually, Ramu doesn’t like news about his family and private life to come out.

Revathy and Pranav Kidambi who studied medicine fallen for each other. Revathy and Pranav’s wedding took place in Hyderabad with close relatives, friends and some industry friends of Ramu.The couple got married on Aug 15, 2013 with the consent of both families. Pranav, the son of of Dr Harish Kidambi and Jayasree Kidambi, hails from doctors family.
