The Telangana high court on Monday admitted a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition against allotment of costly lands worth hundreds of crores to industrialist Jupalli Rameshwar Rao, a close associate of Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.The petition was filed by Pradesh Congress Committee working president and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy. He alleged that the KCR government had not only allocated lands to My Home Group owned by Rameshwar Rao, but also exempted them from paying stamp duty worth Rs 38 crore, against rules.

The high court admitted the PIL and served notices on Rameshwar Rao, the state government and also another infrastructure group DLF. The case was deferred by four weeks.The case relates to developing of real estate venture My Home Bhuja. The YS Rajasekhar Reddy government had allocated 424.13 acres of land to AP industrial Infrastructure Corporation at Survey No. 83 of Rayadurg village of Serilingampalli mandal in Ranga Reddy district in 2016.

The APIIC was supposed to allot the piece of land to Information Technology park and other IT-related infrastructure companies, as per the state IT policy.
Subsequently, the APIIC allotted 31.35 acres worth Rs 580 crore to infrastructure major DLF Ltd for development of buildings for IT companies.After the land was registered in the name of DLF Rayadurgam Developers Pvt Ltd in September, 2013, the company had written a letter to the authorities stating that it wanted to change the name of the company to “Aqua Space Developers Pvt Ltd.” Strangely, the authorities gave permission to the same.

Later, Aqua Space Developers Pvt Ltd placed another request stating that it be allotted another piece of land in place of the original land registered in its name and also requested for exemption of stamp duty. This was also allowed by the then government.The petitioner alleged that the Aqua Space Developers is a shell company belonging to My Home Group and the entire exercise was done only to benefit Rameshwara Rao.

Thus, lands worth hundreds of crores of rupees changed hands and allotted to My Home Group which is presently developing the real estate ventures, Revanth alleged.

Why are IT sleuths grilling Naidu’s ex-PS?

For the fifth consecutive day on Monday, the Income Tax department sleuths have been conducting searches in the residence of P Srinivas Rao, former personal secretary of Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.This is for the first time in the country that the Income Tax officials have raided the house of personal secretary of any former chief minister, though there was instances of I-T searches on the CM’s residences in the past.

What is more interesting is that the I-T officials came from Delhi directly, and with a team from the Central Reserve Police Force, to conduct the raids at the residence of Srinivas Rao both in Hyderabad and Vijayawada.The local police have been kept at bay and the media persons are not being allowed anywhere near the house.
Nobody knows what the I-T officials are searching for and what they have found so far.

The media persons could only notice the officials loading several documents in their vehicles.The speculation is that the documents are pertained to the ill-gotten wealth worth crores of rupees, which are in disproportionate to his known sources of income.

It is not known whether the I-T officials are suspecting him to be the benami of Chandrababu Naidu or somebody else and questioning him on the suspicion.
Srinivas, who served as the personal secretary of Naidu when he was the opposition leader between 2004 and 2014, continued as Naidu’s PS after he became the chief minister.

However, soon after Naidu lost his power, Srinivas returned to his parent department – Commercial Taxes.If Srinivas resorted to any corrupt practices in the department, he would have been targeted by the Anti-Corruption Bureau and there is no need for the I-T department sleuths from Delhi to target him.

Moreover, he would not have amassed so much wealth that necessitated the I-T officials to raid continuously for five days.So, there is definitely something fishy about Srinivas. Let us wait and watch!

Vijay Deverakonda, who used be a bit hyper and over confident at the promotional events of his previous films, seems to have changed his attitude. The Arjun Reddy star has cooled down himself and looked composed and matured at the pre-release function of World Famous Lover.

Vijay stated that he attempted to hit a Sixer with WFL and said he is not sure whether the ball would cross the boundary or would he get caught before the boundary. Vijay also gave full credit to director Kranthi Madhav and said he got the opportunity to play three different roles due to Kranthi Madhav’s script. Many who know Vijay closely observed a change of attitude in Vijay who seems to have become more practical and matured.

Looks like after the debacles of NOTA and Dear Comrade, Vijay seems to have learnt his lessons. He even openly admitted that his previous films were “misses” indicating that they didn’t do well. These indicate that Vijay has become matured person now. Let’s hope he will a sixer with World Famous Lover.

The reception in B and C centers was even bad. It is turning out to be a huge flop in overseas despite good reviews.

Dil Raju went ahead with remaking a classic like 96 despite many people warning him not to do so.

2) Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo: Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo had a very good weekend considering it is into its fifth week run.

Thanks to some lacklustre new releases, AVPL minted handsome shares on Saturday and Sunday.

It has collected around Rs. 120 Cr share in Telugu states alone, which is now the Non-Baahabuli 2 record in AP and Telangana.

3) Aswathama: Naga Shaurya’s Aswathama maintained average hold right from the day it was released and is slowly inching towards breakeven mark.

The film was released in deficit and Shaurya may not recover his investment as it didn’t turn out to be a big hit like Chalo.

4) Sarileru Neekevvaru: Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru had an okay Sunday after a very dull week.

The film’s run has almost exhausted, but the buyers are dragging it towards the fifty day mark.

5) Sawari: Nandu’s Sawari grabbed attention with a couple of hit songs. However, the film barely recovered theater rents in its first weekend.

Character artist Rao Ramesh whose career is in peaks now, has landed in the biggest project ever in his filmy career. Ramesh is signed for the film ‘KGF Chapter 2’ and it is the director of the film, Prashant Neel who revealed this update.

Here comes this MP who has stunned everyone recently with his behaviour at a private event. Apparently the event saw the attendance of a couple of heroines, and one of them has worked in almost all the south films. And when the heroine greeted him at the event, he simply stood up from his seat and hugged her tightly. Even the lady embraced the hug with warmth and that set the rumour buzzer ringing.

One wonders if something is transpiring between this married MP and unmarried single heroine, but actually the two are said to have known to each other from a long time. How come they know each other as the MP is not even remotely associated with any film is a big shocker to onlookers as well.

Janhvi fans appreciate her trip to ‘Tirumala by walk’

Tirupati: Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor is currently on a religious trip to Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh.

The “Dhadak” actress took to Instagram on Sunday and posted a gamut of photographs from her trip. According to comments on her images, Janhvi trekked it all the way to the top of Tirumala town to make it to the shrine.

The actor took to Instagram stories to share pictures from the trek.

The pictures she posted on the photo-sharing website, Janhvi, who is dressed in a white salwar kameez paired with a yellow dupatta, can be seen looking away from the camera and smiling.

She captioned it with rainbow and sunshine emojis.

On the acting front, Janhvi has been shooting for two films — “Gunjan Saxena” and “RoohiAfzaa”.
