Releasing Today: Multiple Releases, But All Eyes On It

Share

Most of the mid range movies that missed out on December release were scheduled for February release to maintain safe distance from Sankranthi biggies.

Sharwanand – Samantha’s Jaanu is the first notable release of the month.

There are a few other small films like 3 Monkeys and Sawaari that are releasing today, but all eyes are on Jaanu.

Directed by Prem Kumar and bankrolled by Dil Raju, Jaanu is an official remake of Tamil cult hit 96.

Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha weaved magic with their magnificent performances and made it a movie to remember.

It is not easy to recreate such magic in other languages, but Jaanu seems to have achieved it going by its promos.

Sharwanand’s last two movies were duds, but Samantha is in top form lately. She was the main pillar for the success of Majili and Oh Baby.

Samantha’s presence will be the USP for Jaanu, which should dominate the weekend box office.

Sawaari starring Nandu has been making noise with a couple of chartbusters and Three Monkeys has the Jabardasth’s Sudigali Sudheer’s team playing lead characters.

Kia Is Not A Banana Push Cart

Share

The TDP leadership and its yellow media are good at spreading rumours. They are the best and trained political magicians who can create anything out of nothing and nothing out of something.

They are good at manipulating through the media. Their wide contacts in the national and international media comes as advantage to create something from the air.

The news about Kia Motors plans to shift its base from Andhra Pradesh to Tamil Nadu, which had shocked everyone across the two Telugu States, and also in the Parliament for a while on Thursday, was one such magical manipulated rumour created out of nothing.

However, by evening, the air was clear and the magicians were exposed.

The governments of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, the management of the Kia Motors have condemned the rumours, thus shutting the TDP-sponsored rumour mongers.

Kia Motors was established in Ananthapur and it has the bultup area of 23,000 million sq ft and has the production capacity of three lakh cars every year.

It is not just a push cart selling bananas or a tea shop, to shift so easily, as easy as the news flashed and as easy as the news was spread across the two Telugu states by the TDP and its media.

The company is one of the biggest both in terms of production capacity and turnover and if anything goes against its interests, the company can directly deal with the Government of India or the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The company had made a whopping investment of almost close to Rs 13,000 crore, will not just close the plant and go somewhere to invest again.

The South Korean company knows it very well to manage Indian bureaucrats and politicians. In fact, any foreign investor would first learn to manage the Indian bureaucrats and politicians before making the investment move and Kia is not an exception.

What the rumour mongers missed is that no business man would close the firm established at Rs 13,000 crore just like that as the politicians change their parties.

It is not an easy task or rather any investor would prefer to leave the investment to repeat it elsewhere!

Jagan believes in silent work, sans publicity

Share

Since morning, Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been crying foul from roof tops over a report carried by a news agency on the shifting of Kia Motors from Anantapur to Tamil Nadu, claiming that the Jagan government has been driving away all the industries he had brought during his regime.

It is an open secret that Naidu used to spend Rs 10 on publicity for Rs 1 worth work he had done. So, whatever little he had done during his regime has been given massive publicity in the local, national and international media.

On the other hand, the Jagan government has been accused of not bringing any investments to the state as there have been no such reports in the media about any industry coming to the state in the last eight months.

But, finance minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy says Jagan believes in doing work silently rather maintaining a low profile, without craving for any publicity. That is why nothing is being heard or seen in the media about what he is doing for attracting investments.

Buggana pointed out that in the last eight months of YSRC rule, as many as 1,252 companies have come forward to set up their units in AP, for which 1,057 acres had been allotted.

Some of these companies include: Grasim Industries of the Birlas, Smart Chemtech, ATC Tyres, Triamonium Nitrate, CRRC corporation and Metro Coaches.

“Negotiations are under way with major units of Hyundai Steels and Posco Steels to set up their plants,” he said.

Similarly, since June to November 2019, as many as 19 units were grounded with an investment of Rs 15,600 crore. Moreover, eight more units with an investment of Rs 7,916 crore are ready for trial runs in production and eight other units with an investment of Rs 8,663 crore are in the construction stage, the minister said.

He said Chandrababu Naidu government had left the present government with works worth Rs 38,000 crores to be completed. If the CRDA works were included, the amount increases to Rs one lakh crore. This was done without any financial backing, he pointed out.

Samantha To Retire In Two Years?

Share

Samantha, being one of the established actresses in the South, has also become a household name. With her one on one memorable performances in the past year through Majili, U-turn, Rangasthalam, Oh Baby and Super Deluxe, Sam is leaving no stone unturned to prove her versatility again and again.

However, fans, who have always wanted to see the actress constantly on big screens, might now feel disappointed with her latest statement. During her next film release Jaanu’s event, Samantha hinted that she would soon stop acting in the films. The news is indeed heartbreaking. We can not call it as retirement from films as many actresses have made their comeback later in their lives.

“As a married woman, it’s high time I should think about extending my family. Since, an actress’ film career has always been short-lived than heroes, I may keep my family as my top priority and might act for 2 or3 years more,” she quoted.

Within these next couple of years, Samantha also assured that she would be seen in memorable roles and entertain fans as much as possible. The news of Samantha putting a full stop to her full-swing career and planning about pregnancy has been a long-time rumor ever since Majili and now, the actress herself confirming it made netizens upset.

No matter what, we wish her good luck in all the endeavors, be it motherhood or the film career. Samantha’s next film, Jaanu, a remake of Tamil blockbuster 96, is all set to release tomorrow, on 7 Feb, opposite Sharwanand.

Nehru divided India to become PM: Narendra Modi

Share

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday, took a brief swipe at opposition Congress party while replying to motion of thanks on President’s address in Rajya Sabha. In his long speech, Modi said that Nehru had bifurcated our country into two nations with an intention to become Prime Minister of India.

He said “It hard to imagine how dangerously Hindus, Sikhs and other minority people were persecuted after country was divided.” Modi also reminded the house about Liaquat-Nehru Pact between India and Pakistan to safeguard the rights of minorities.

Modi went on to question why the former PM (Nehru), despite being a secular man, preferred to use the word ‘minorities’ over ‘citizens’. While reiterating that CAA will not trouble any religion, PM said ‘there must be some hidden agenda for Nehru to use the word minorities in the bilateral treaty’.

He further added, “Congress party is trying to divide the people by their religion and beliefs, while we are considering the people of entire nation as Indians.”

Dil Raju Bags Nizam Rights Of #RRR For A Record Price!

Share

Top league buyers from all areas are vying for bagging the distribution rights of Rajamouli’s Mega Multistarrer #RRR. There’s heavy rush for distribution rights after the release date of #RRR was announced.

Dil Raju offered a mind-boggling Rs. 75 Cr for Nizam rights and the deal is said to be closed for Rs. 76 Cr.

None of the films collected Rs. 70 Cr share in Nizam till now, not even Baahubali 2. Dil Raju is usually a safe player when it comes to betting on the distribution rights. Raju coming up with such an offer shows the potential of #RRR.

Andhra region rights are being sold at Rs. 100 Cr ratio and Praveen bought the rights for West Godavari in the same ratio.

At this rate, Ceded rights might fetch Rs. 50 Cr easily. #RRR pre release business in Telugu States itself would be around Rs. 225 Cr, which is twenty crore more than what Baahubali 2 collected in AP and Telangana.

Kia Motors Row: Reuters to Sack the Scribe!

The Andhra Pradesh government took serious note of Reuters story of “Kia motors contemplating to move its plant out of Andhra Pradesh.”

The YS Jagan Reddy government was quick to send clarification on the whole issue and also pursuing legal options to take on the international agency as it was found that the said journalist concocted the story without any base.

The Andhra Pradesh government concluded that the journalist was influenced by some political forces and the higher editorial bosses were informed how this news was planted by vested interests to malign the state.

Security to Lokesh further reduced?

Share

If the reports coming from the Telugu Desam Party sources are believed, the security cover of Nara Lokesh, TDP general secretary and son of party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, has been reduced.

According to these sources, the security cover of Lokesh was reduced from Y plus category to X category, which is provided to individuals with the lowest threat.

He will now be having only one personal security officer along with two security personnel.

Before 2014 elections, Lokesh, being the son of the leader of opposition, was provided with 2 plus 2 security cover.

After the TDP came to power, he was given 4 plus 4 security cover which was continued after he became an MLC and minister in the Naidu cabinet in 2017.

However, in 2018, the security cover to Lokesh was upgraded to Z category after the killing of a TDP MLA in the Maoist attack.

The Z category entails two Personal Security Officers (PSOs) and one escort car, besides a security cover of 22 personnel including a pilot.

When Naidu lost the elections and YSRC came to power, the Jagan Mohan Reddy government reduced the security cover of Lokesh was reduced from Z category to Y plus category which entails 2 PSOs with a security cover of 11 personnel but without an escort car.

The TDP sources alleged that the reduction in security cover to Lokesh was part of the overall strategy to weaken him politically and drive him out of politics ultimately.

However, the police sources say the decision was taken after reviewing the threat perception to Lokesh, which is done from time to time.

Pic Talk: Chiru and Balayya in ethnic wear

Share

Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nandamuri Natasimham Balakrishna were spotted at a wedding in ethnic wear and this picture of them sitting next to each other and chatting is going viral on the social media.

Going into details, Chiru and Balayya graced the wedding of late director Kodi Ramakrishna’s daughter held in Hyderabad. As both Megastar and NBK share a good association with the late director, they did not miss this event.

The Mega hero wore a grey colored Kurta, Pyjama while the Nandamuri hero appeared in yellow outfit. Once again Balayya is seen with short hair in salt & pepper beard style which in the recent times drew a lot of attention.

After blessing the newlywed couple, Chiru and NBK sat down besides each other. They had a brief chat and their camaraderie was pleasing to watch.

Botsa and Bugganna to head Select Committees

Share

Days after TDP, BJP and PDF parties have sent their names to Select Committees, the YSRCP government has appointed ministers Bugganna Rajendranath Reddy and Botsa Satyanarayana as the chairmen of the committees.

Finance minister Bugganna will head the Development Decentralisation committee while Botsa will head the Dissolution of CRDA bill committee. Each committee has eight members. Nara Lokesh, Ashok Babu, Sadhya Rani, Thippe Swami, KS Lakshman Rao, PVS Madhav and V Gopal Reddy are part of Bugganna committee while Deepak Reddy, Bachchula Arjunudu, Beeda Ravichandra, Gounivaari Srinivasulu, Shaik Mohammad Iqbal, Illa Venkateswara Rao and BJP’s Samu Veerraju are part of Botsa’s committee.

This is interesting aspect as the chairmen are ruling party leaders. Even if the committee members delay or oppose the bill, Bugganna and Botsa can change their final report.

However, an official statement is yet to arrive on Bugganna and Botsa heading these committees. Legislative Council Chairman Sharif has sent the committee initiating process to assembly secretary. Also this appointment comes in a surprise as the other day an YSRCP leader commented that when the council itself was dissolved, there is no question of select committees.

When will the committees meet and what would be they discuss is something to be watched out for.
