In the seven days in a week, AP CM YS Jagan has to dedicate one whole day to be in Hyderabad in connection with disproportionate assets case. Every Friday Jagan has to appear before the CBI court and regarding the same, Jagan has filed an exemption petition. But the court had declined Jagan’s plea.
On the last two occasions, Jagan skipped to make it before the CBI court citing his exemption petition and also the work as CM. This Friday Jagan had no choice rather than to make his presence felt. But in a relief, Jagan can happily be in his camp office.
Going into details, the Judges of CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) courts are on leave and so Jagan’s advocates have suggested that his personal appearance is not needed for today. With Hyderabad’s trip getting cancelled, Jagan has asked officials to prepare the schedule for the day.
A three offs in a row but next Friday it won’t be the same.
After accusing TDP leaders of doing Insider-Trading with Amaravati lands, the ruling YSRCP government has initiated CID probe. With the allegations and information from the government, CID has taken over the case and in one day, the cops have booked seven cases.
Former ministers Narayana and Prathipati Pulla Rao are booked by the CID among these seven cases. In their investigation, the police have learned that the TDP leaders and other big shots have bought land using white colored ration card.
The other people on whom cases were filed are Abdul Zamedar, Polineni Kodalrao, Mandava Nagamani, Mandava Anuradha, Bollineni Narasimha Rao and Bhukya Nagamani.
The CID sources say that many TDP leaders names are likely to come out in the coming days as the investigation progresses. We are yet to hear the first reaction of Narayana and Prathipati who are booked for now.
The YSRCP government has alleged that TDP leaders have bought close to 4700 acres of land in Amaravati before announcing it as capital city of AP.
The most important aspect in a film’s release is to get massive openings and also fantastic word of the mouth such that it will recover all the investment poured by distributors. Even if critics praise or scold, these figures are what that matters in the end for all the parties involved in making that movie.
Here comes Samantha and Sharwanand’s Jaanu that is hitting cinemas today. Directed by Prem Kumar who made the original ’96’, the film is produced by Dil Raju in Telugu and they are targeting youths as their primary audience. The film got sold for 18 crores when it comes to theatrical rights as it made 15 crores from Telugu states alone while collecting 3 crores from Overseas market and other states. If we include print and publicity costs, Jaanu should collect nearly 21 crores to safeguard the buyers. Can it do?
If we look into Sharwa’s recent track record, his Ranarangam got sold for 16 crores and the film struggled to get past half of it at the box office. But Samantha has massive solo hit in the form of ‘Oh Baby’ that was sold for 10 crores and collected 18 crores share in the full run.
While Samantha’s fame helps to get huge footfalls, it is those youths who got failed in love or who are in love that are going to flock theatres in the first week. Hope they will altogether make it a super hit.
Whenever a hero hosts a party related to a film’s success, there will be always rumours saying that the film’s producer has paid the bill, and some say that hero forced them to pay it. But then, gossip mills haven’t left even Allu Arjun while throwing away such gossip.
Recently Allu Arjun hosted a party for all the big celebrities of Tollywood who helped spread good words about Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Later he organised a similar party to some other industry friends and distributors. Some rumours have erupted that apparently Alu Arjun has asked producer S Radhakrishna to take care of the bills of these parties.
We are hearing that Bunny is very upset with the way some of these rumours are turning out to be. The moment #RRR got postponed to January 2020, all the equations regarding the film sales in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana got changed. Because those distributors who will be able to release the film in a huge number of theatres will be able to bet on it now. Looks like even Dil Raju entered the game for the same reason.
In its amazing run of more than 140 days, Baahubali 2 has made 67+ crores ‘share’ from Nizam area in the Telugu states. And now, Dil Raju is said to have offered to buy #RRR at 76 crores, a deal that the producers of this upcoming magnum opus being directed by Rajamouli couldn’t say no to. Why would Raju bet so higher than a Baahubali 2 range for #RRR? Here’s the logic.
Apparently films with terrific content will make good at the box office. But the likes of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Sarileru Neekevvaru made more money from Nizam than a Rangasthalam due to Sankranthi season and hiked ticket rates. So, after releasing on nearly same dates, if Ala could get 42+ crores share and Sarileru a 27+ cr by releasing side by side, can’t #RRR get all of it if released solo?
And if Raju adds the logic that he will give all of his theatres to #RRR (this year he shared between Ala and Sarlieru), which makes his 75 crores an easily achievable task provided with the fact that Rajamouli always makes box office working content.
Unlike bashing and slapping, this time sensational star Vijay Devarakonda is coming up with sensible content related to various types of love. Directed by Kranthi Madhav and featuring Raashi Khanna, Catherine Tresa, Izabelle Leite and Aishwarya Rajesh as heroines, the film has Vijay appearing in sensible roles.
At a time when many are actually raving about the trailer’s greatness, there is this big doubt on the movie’s story. Audiences are right now confused as to what is going to happen inside the movie. Is it the story of the same Vijay Devarakonda who went through different career paths in various stage of life? Or is it the story of four different people that is being narrated in parallel?

As intense as an election campaign, Chandrababu Naidu is criticizing Jagan and his governance with regards to Kia Motors’ issue and Capital shift. In his recent meeting, Chandrababu pointed out the need for Amaravathi as the capital of Andhra Pradesh while he mentioned the troubles of two capitals in South Africa.
The opposition leader called YS Jagan as Naya Tuglaq (New Tuglaq) for his policies and cracked jokes that he never anticipated that a long-gone Sultan in the thirteenth century would be born again in Andhra Pradesh. Rubbishing Jagan’s policies of changing the capital, Chandrababu reminded that top media houses in the nation condemned Jagan’s three capital idea.
Recalling YS Jagan’s walkathon the state, Chandrababu said the CM has cheated people with the kisses during the padayatra and also said that neither YSR nor his son Jagan would have done the walkathon if he did not want them to, during his tenure. Chandrababu called the YSRC leaders as ‘pilla kunkhalu’, and said the time comes where Jagan would be paying back with interest, for what he has done to the state.
Center clearly mentioned that the Amaravathi was announced only after the Sivaramakrishnan committee suggested it to be and as per the reorg act and only after the farmers volunteered with 34000 acres of land to build a world-class capital.
Chandrababu stressed the need for prayers to all the gods so the Tuglaq changes his mind in shifting the capital and once again reminded that it is not the authority by the majority, but its the justice and equity that wins in the end.
Former MP Undavalli Arun Kumar spoke at large on the present situation in the Andhra Pradesh state, Three capital ideas, Jagan’s policies, Chandrababu’s criticism, Pawan Kalyan’s films, Special category status, Investments, Polavaram, CAA, Vizag and many more. He said he wanted to speak on other topics like liquor, pensions, and sand, but had to speak about all these.
Undavalli called it a breach of trust and contract when the new government denies the policies of the previous government with respect to building the capital city as it has thousands of acres of land sacrificed by the farmers. The former MP questioned how any investor wants to pour money in a state where the next government is not willing to continue the privileges or exemptions provided by the former government.
Don’t Repeat A Hyderabad With Vizag
Stating that no one has the proper idea on the 3 capital formula, as it is a new concept, Undavalli underlines that Jagan remains as a CM that made the Amaravathi farmers suffer and said the CM should have announced a move of few offices that belong better to another city in the state.
Pointing out the mistake done by Chandrababu in pouring all the money to develop Hyderabad as a great city, Arun Kumar called Jagan’s idea of developing Vizag as IT hub the same mistake. He instead advised Jagan to develop other cities and towns in the state, which can be called a proper decentralized development.
Undavalli mentioned Punjab as exemplary to this decentralized development sating that there are more than 60 percent wealthy people in that state with not more than ten lakh population in each city and town. Undavalli read out the statistics of Chandrababu’s proposed allocation to different sectors in the capital city and as those numbers appear too far from reality, he asked why would anyone want to invest if we show these exaggerations.
‘Capital’, But Not ‘Capital City’
Also mentioning why the film industry never really left Hyderabad for Andhra Pradesh, Undavalli said that nobody would give up on their business and comfort for caste or region unless they were given more exemptions, facilities, and related amenities. Talking about special category status, Undavalli Arun Kumar underlined that ‘capital city’ is never the matter of issue but the ‘capital’ from investors always is.
Undavalli also alleged that Polavaram project work is not going on the full note and once again he stressed the need for the completion of Polavaram for future of Andhra Pradesh, which he hopes should be done at least before the YSRC term ends. Undavalli says the capital city issue is nothing, but the industries, investments, and Polavaram are much bigger and important at this hour.
If Jagan Is Wrong, So Is Chandrababu
Undavalli also mentioned how TDP is now alleging that the retired Judge Chalameshwar meeting Jagan, A1 in disproportionate assets case is influencing the judicial system. He asked if an honest and sincere retired chief justice like Chalameshwar meeting a Cheif Minister of a state is wrong, how is the same judge meeting Chandrababu Naidu while he was facing the note-vote case, at a private party for one complete hour behind the closed doors, would be right?
Pawan Kalyan Going Back To Films
Undavalli Arun Kumar backed Pawan Kalyan going back to films. He said he advised Pawan Kalyan to not leave the films for which the Janasenani refused. Undavalli says that he then would have thought of becoming the CM and now the elections are nowhere near, it is reasonable that Pawan goes back to movies. When asked about Pawan’s inconsistent political alliances, Undavalli says there are no rules in alliances, reminding what Chandrababu did by joining hands with communist parties in one election and shook hands with BJP for the next.
Tamil film 96 of Trisha and Vijay Sethupathi, has left a great feel on audiences’ minds and the movie turned out as a classic. Remade as ‘Jaanu’ in Telugu, with Samantha and Sharwanand in the lead roles, the movie is releasing today.
Prem Kumar of the original is directing Jaanu in Telugu and he seems to have made some changes here. While Samantha has got all the applause for her extraordinary performance in Oh Baby, the high expectations on her ‘Jaanu’ are now intact. And also, Sharwa seems to be the best fit for the male lead in Jaanu, we have to see if this duo from Jaanu recreates the magic of 96 or hypnotizes us to forget 96 for Jaanu.
Final Report:
Jaanu is a carbon copy of the original that has different actors who tried to recreate the original.
Jaanu can connect to school time lovers from 90s and it is to be seen on how well the present day youth might connect to it.
Few scenes from School episodes in the first half were etched well and the younger Jaanu did well.
The slow narrative needs a mention though the performances of Sharwanand and Samantha manage to fill it up.
Background music in heart touching scene and few revelation scenes is good while the songs run along the story except the first one.

First half report: Goes on a slow pace with most of the scenes from ‘back to school’. Younger Jaanu is expressive. Sharwanand performing well, a cake walk for him too. Vennela Kishore and Thagubothu Ramesh doing their part. So far, Director strictly following the original ’96’ format without any deviation. Nothing much for Samantha till now.
