Big Gossip: Balayya To Play Jr NTR’s Father In Trivikram’s Movie

Share

Director Trivikram is all set to direct Jr NTR in his next venture after he relaxes for a while as he has just come from the super success of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. And for this project, it is heard that the talented star director is looking forward to pulling some big names for the casting.

A gossip is doing rounds in Film Nagar that Trivikram is getting ready to approach Nandamuri Balakrishna for this film, as he wants him to play the role of hero’s father. It is the dream of some Nandamuri fans to see Balayya and Tarak together but now they are not even doing that at film events in the least. In that scenario, can Triivkram really convince Balayya for this movie?

Some reports have that Balayya will appear in the flashback episode when NTR’s role appears as a kid and literally there will be no screen sharing between the duo. In that case, that will be doing more bad to the movie than any good because film lovers will get more hurt if the two doesn’t appear together.

Anyway, all these things are mere speculations, so let us wait for the official announcement regarding this project.

Telugu box office is going on a terrific level right now with both the Sankranthi releases Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Sarileru Neekevvaru breathing huge oxygen into trade circuits with their enormous collections. The success of those films will give new energy even to big producers to come up with big projects. But what about our neighbourhood Tamil folks?

Apparently Tamil distributors expected huge from Superstar Rajnikanth’s Darbar that released on Pongal eve. But the film has not only created huge losses but also made sure that Rajni’s image will take another big beating. And then, Danush came up with the film Pattas a week later, but this too didn’t excite any. Audiences felt watching the routine run of the mill movie.

Now came director Myskin’s Psycho which has loads of thriller elements and even scared the audiences. The film has Udayanidhi Stalin, Aditi Rao Hydari and Nitya Menen in the leads, and they advised pregnant women and heart-patients to not watch it. Though critics didn’t like the film, it looks like box office is racing ahead with terrific collections.

Is She Getting Mega Lift From Rajamouli?

Share

Through his movies, legendary director SS Rajamouli always showcases heroines at their glamorous best we must say. Whether that is Shriya in Chatrapathi, Genelia in Sye, Anushka in Vikramarkudu or Tamannain Baahubali, they have portrayed as brand ambassadors of ravishingness through the songs Rajamouli films on them.

Talk is that, after giving a big break to Tamanna through Baahubali at a time when her career is in doldrums, now Rajamouli might do the same thing for one of his previous heroines. After looking at the way Ajay Devgan’s scenes are coming out, actually the director is said to be adding another back story for him in #RRR. In that case, a heroine will be required to play the Bollywood superstar’s wife.

Reports are coming that the Baahubali maker is considering to rope in Shriya Saran for that role. As she acted as Ajay’s wife earlier in Hindi remake of Drishyam and also quotes quite less than those aged star heroines, #RRR team is said to be considering her name. Let’s see what happens.

Suresh Babu Finding Tough To Get Hero For That Project

Share

The classic example of a typical Telugu hero mindset is that they don’t’ take up roles that won’t have heroism, that will have them to underplay or wear a lady getup. That’s the reason we don’t get fantastic content on the silver screen as it happens in Bollywood.

In recent times, Bollywood hero Ayushman Khurrana is picking fantastic subjects and even scoring 100+ crores at the box office. In the film ‘Dream Girl’, he appears as a guy who speaks in a girl’s voice and also plays the role of a lady in many theatre plays. Raj Tarun was supposed to do this movie for Suresh Productions, but the hero walked after his Iddari Lokam Okate failed at the box office.

Producer Suresh Babu, who has actually wanted to bring new content to Telugu cinema through his banner, is now said to be running from pillar to post to find a hero for this project. From heroes who are in his family to those heroes who got sensational applause, are said to have rejected to take up this film.

One wonders why Tollywood heroes still doesn’t want to take up such roles and stories!

‘Nuvvu Super Baasu’, Disco Raja’s Tribute To Mega Star

Director VI Anand gets great ideas but often failed in execution. One of them is Raviteja’s Disco Raja that has a good concept, but could not entertain the audience much. After a formal success meets, the makers did not try to promote it much, looking at its performance at the box office, but released few new teasers than may not fail to enthrall us.

In the new teasers, one that has a mention about Chiranjeevi is definitely highlight. Raviteja who wakes up from coma after 35 years happens to see Chiru Khaidi no 150 movie poster and thinks it is the poster of Megastar’s Khaidi movie that was released in 1983 and is running till today without a break.

The conversation between Raviteja and Vennela Kishore about how Chiru just stopped aging and looks all the same in Khaidi and Khaidi no 150 is interesting. The makers of this movie call it a freaking blockbuster, but actually this teaser is.

Roundup: Vizag as capital: Much ado about nothing!

Share

The leakage of a portion of experts committee headed by G N Rao on the Andhra Pradesh capital issue to a select group of media has generated a lot of heat and dust in the political circles.

It is an open secret that chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was firm on shifting the administrative capital from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam.

Naturally, the briefing given to the experts committee also could be the same and the committee also gave its final recommendations on the same lines.

It is a natural that any committee appointed by the government will go according to the thinking of the government.

Even the Narayana Committee appointed during the TDP regime, also gave its report in favour of Amaravati as the capital city, because then chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu wanted the capital there.

So, nobody would expect the G N Rao committee to give a report that would be entirely against the interests of Jagan Mohan Reddy.

During the course of study, the committee only made certain observations on the constraints of various places including Visakhapatnam, Machilipatnam and Vijayawada in running the administration.

But ultimately, in its final recommendations, it suggested executive capital at Visakhapatnam, legislative capital at Amaravati and judicial capital at Kurnool, as per the requirement of the chief minister.

While the YSR Congress government disclosed only the operative portion of the experts committee to the media, the report carried by the pro-Telugu Desam Party media on Wednesday was only a paragraph of a big report about constraints in running administration from Visakhapatnam.

This is nothing but making much ado about nothing. What matters is the executive summary which made the final recommendations. But the pro-TDP media continued to highlight only the small reference.

On Thursday, too, Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy sought to project the constraints part of the report, quoting G N Rao who hurriedly held a press conference to clarify his point.

While admitting that there are constraints in having Visakhapatnam as the capital, he pointed out that the report clearly referred to the location of executive capital away from the coastal zone.

While Eenadu gave huge coverage to the TDP leaders’ reactions on the expert committee describing the committee reports as bogus and that Vizag is still not suitable for the capital, Andhra Jyothy accused the government of looking for establishing administrative buildings closer to the coast, in contrary to the recommendations of Rao committee report.

Sakshi confined itself to defending the decision of choosing Vizag as the capital city and made Rao’s press conference as banner saying it is the best city for being the capital.

Meanwhile, the massive rally taken up by the farmers of Amaravati continues to make the headlines in the pro-TDP papers. Apparently, these dailies want to sustain the movement as long as they can.

Sakshi has highlighted the statement of Bharatiya Janata Party spokesman G V L Narasimha Rao saying that the Centre would act according to the Constitutional norms in deciding the fate of the legislative council.

The release of fishermen from the captivity of Bangladesh, fate of Telugu engineers in Coronavirus-affected China and India’s victory in the super over with New Zealand are some of the important stories in the front pages of the Telugu media.

Bureaucrats not cooperating with Jagan?

Share

In any democratically-elected government in any state, it is the ruling party which takes the policy decisions, but the implementing authorities are bureaucrats who always call the shots in the government.

Though the chief minister and his cabinet colleagues take crucial decisions, they cannot be implemented at the field level without the cooperation of the bureaucrats.

Generally, the IAS officers religiously follow the orders of the political bosses. But if they want to create hurdles in the implementation of these orders, they are capable of doing it.

There have been reports from Andhra Pradesh that some of the IAS officers in the YSR Congress party government led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy have turned out to be hard nuts to crack.

May be they have their own interests or they do not like the decisions of the Jagan government, these IAS officers are said to be putting spokes in the implementation of various decisions.

There are complaints that several draft policies are lying with some secretaries for several months and they have been sitting over them on one pretext or the other.

If any MLA or a minister comes up with a proposal and takes it up with the chief minister, the latter would refer it to the secretary of the department concerned.

The files come to the secretary and get stuck there for months. The IAS officer raises several queries on the subject and delays the processing on the pretext that he should take a legal opinion or finance department approval etc.

In the meantime, he gets another important file and the previous file is pushed to the backburner. Since the chief minister is too busy to keep track of every file, nobody bothers to do a follow-up.

“The government is not able to take several policy decisions like industrial policy or IT policy, only because of these bureaucratic hurdles. For example, if an investor comes up with any proposal, there is no way to follow it up as the IAS officers do not evince to process them,” a ruling party leader lamented.

Who leaked panel report to pro-TDP media?

Share

The way pro-Telugu Desam Party media carried a big story on the constraints for Visakhapatnam being declared as the administrative capital as mentioned by the five-member experts committee headed by retired IAS officer G N Rao was definitely an embarrassment to the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government, if not a setback.

Embarrassing because, the full report of the G N Rao committee was leaked only to a select group of media, favourable to the TDP, knowing fully well that the opposition would use it as a weapon to attack the government.

The YSRC and the government might have enough weapons to counter-attack the TDP, but the leakage of the report to the pro-TDP media only shows the Jagan government’s lack of control over his administration.

Both the GN Rao committee report and the BCG reports are confidential and not public documents, like Sivaramakrishnan Committee report. Both the reports were not tabled in the assembly.

The government only released the operative portions of the reports and constituted an expert committee report to study them and come out with an action plan on the three capitals.

So, how could these confidential reports come into public domain and leaked to only select media houses?

Definitely, it must be the handiwork of some officials at the highest level in the Jagan government. These days, even the most confidential government orders are being accessed by the TDP, thanks to such kind of officials.

The TDP which had been in power for more than five years would have its own moles in the government to gain access to such confidential information.

As an opposition party, it is fully justified in doing so. But the YSRC government should have taken all precautions to prevent such leakage of information to the opposition.

That is where the government is failing. Anybody listening?
