Balayya witnesses Rayalaseema heat!
Hindupur assembly constituency in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, considered to be the bastion of the Telugu Desam Party in general and family of party founder N T Rama Rao in particular, revolted for the first time against the family and the party.
On Thursday, NTR’s son and local MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna had to witness the ire of the people in Hindupur for opposing the three capitals plan of the YSR Congress party government which proposed to set up the state high court in Rayalaseema.
A large number of people, of course led by local YSR Congress party leaders, waylaid Balakrishna while he was on his way to the constituency as part of his one-day tour.
Tension prevailed at Rahatmatapuram Circle in Hindupur, where the YSRC activists raised “Go Back Balayya” slogans and prevented him from entering the town.
The YSRC workers said Balakrishna had no right to enter Rayalaseema, as his party was opposing the three capitals plan. However, they were confronted by Balayya fans and the local TDP activists who gathered there in big numbers.
The police had a tough time in controlling the agitating mob from both the sides. They arrested the protesters from both the sides and took them to the police station. The district authorities deployed police forces in big numbers in Hindupur.
Chalameshwar meets Jagan: What’s up?
The sudden meeting of former Supreme Court judge Justice Jasti Chalameshwar with YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in Hyderabad raised many an eyebrow.
Chalameshwar was accompanied by Andhra Pradesh official languages commission chairman Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad and Narsaraopet MP Lavu Krishna Devarayalu.
According to sources, Jagan and Chalameshwar discussed the latest developments in the state, including the three capitals plan and also abolition of legislative council. Apparently, Jagan had sought the advice of Chalameshwar in overcoming the legal hurdles in the three capitals issue.
But what interested the political circles is the timing of Chalameshwar’s visit to Jagan. Though it is considered to be a courtesy call by the retired Supreme Court judge, it has led to various speculations in the political and media circles.
It is not a coincidence that Chalameshwar was accompanied by the leaders from his own community when he met Jagan.
While Yarlagadda and Krishna Devarayalu are now part of the YSRC, Chalameshwar, too, is a hardcore opponent of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, though he is distantly related to N T Rama Rao family.
So, definitely, the strategy to counter Naidu on Amaravati issue and the repercussions of the agitation by his caste groups in shifting the capital from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam could have come up for discussion.
It is also not exactly known whether Chalameshwar has any political ambitions. However, he made it clear several times in the past that he would keep away from politics. But in case Jagan needs any expert advice on legal matters, he might be looking towards Chalameshwar.
Jagan Gives One More Major Shock!
AP CM YS Jagan has been giving shock after the shock to the people of Andhra Pradesh. Jagan who had vowed to reduce the consumption of liquor in the state in turn led to the increase of prices of liquor. He had also stalled the crucial projects in the state. The sand policy had turned out to be a deathknell to the construction and real-estate industries.
After proposing the scrapping of the CRDA bill and proposing three capitals for the state that led to the collapse of real market in and around Amaravati, in a fresh shock, CM Jagan has hiked the VAT (Value Added Tax) on petrol and diesel by 4.5 percent. Ironically, Jagan, when he was in Opposition, had argued in the Assembly that AP is one of the states that imposes high VAT on petrol, diesel and in a major volte-face, he has increased petrol, diesel prices along with the hike of state government-imposed VAT.
The existing 31 percent VAT on petrol has now become 35.20 percent which is in addition to increase of Rs 2 per litre on petrol. On Diesel, the 22.25 percent VAT is increased to 27 percent in addition to Rs 2 hike per litre on diesel. This is seen as a big shock to the automobile users. The hike of diesel prices and VAT is likely to incur huge burden on APSRTC and the goods transporting lorries. This is directly affect the increase of the groceries and daily-used commodities.
Opposition parties are demanding CM Jagan to roll back the hike of VAT on fuel.
Pawan Kalyan Struggling To Get Modi’s Appointment?
The aggression and passion found in Pawan Kalyan when he first lifted his fist for Janasena flag, is no longer visible. While a colossal loss in elections is the prime reason, his handshake with BJP seems to be the next. When many ardent followers of Janasena appeared to be upset over Pawan’s U-turn to form an alliance with BJP, the actor-politician is in no mood to worry about that, as he is struggling with something else.
Pawan Kalyan announced the Janasena – BJP alliance for the next elections, in the presence of BJP leaders like JP Nadda, Purandareswari, Kanna Lakshmi Narayana and others, but none from the top cadre acknowledged it in any way. This seems to be bothering the Janasenani, who went to Delhi to meet the top two of BJP, but was denied the appointment and had to return with disgrace.
Pawan is heard to be trying his best to meet Modi or Shah, to attain importance to the Saffron – glass tie-up. Looks like the top BJP leaders are just ignoring him or they are really not very excited about Janasena’s support to BJP in AP.
While many of Pawan’s close aides asked him to return to AP, the Janasena chief was in no mood to get back without a formal bouquet-photo scene with at least one from the top cadre of BJP.
Pawan Kalyan has not tried to meet Modi post-breakup with BJP-TDP after the 2014 elections, and now, his desperate attempts to meet Modi-Shah remained in vain. Apparently, the supreme duo of BJP has no reason to meet Pawan Kalyan now, as there is no election nearby nor there would be any great deed happening right away by advertising their friendship with Janasena.
When this struggle of Pawan Kalyan is on one side, very recently, Manchu Mohan Babu’s family managed to get the PM Modi’s appointment for a casual chat, selfies, and exchange of tweets. Looks like Pawan Kalyan is not even among the least priorities of the Centre.

True to the title, Taapsee is seen getting smacked on her cheek by someone. Her expression and pain in the face are clearly evident. Anubhav Sinha is directing the movie which also stars Ratna Pathak Shah, Manav Kaul, Dia Mirza, Tanve Azmi, Ram Kapoor and others.
“Kya yeh bas itni si baat hai? Kya pyaar mein ye bhi jayaz hai? Yeh #Thappad Ki pehli Jhalak hai!” wrote Taapsee sharing the first look.

Trivikram Toned Down Young Hero’s Role for What?
Though the writer in Trivikram comes up with brilliant characterisation for almost all the lead roles in his movies, it looks like the director in him always tones down based on the hero’s stardom. If the reports coming from Film Nagar about the things that have happened in Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo script, it looks like that is true.
Actually this film is the story of a rich guy (Allu Arjun) who gets raised as a poor middle-class guy throughout his life. But then, this other guy is getting raised as a rich guy despite the fact that he was born in a poor family. Initially, Trivikram is said to have written this story as a multi-starrer project, but then everything changed with Allu Arjun’s arrival.
After Bunny is aboard, naturally the other hero’s role gets toned. And later they signed Sushanth, and citing that the stardom of these two is not equal, they have further toned down the role of the other-son character. They say that the film’s level would have been different if Trivikram deals it like a multi-starrer.
Whatever it may be, the film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo has already collected quite massive, almost like 133+ crores share in two weeks.
Stark Coincidence? Pawan Follows Chiru In Comeback Films
There is a dialogue from Jalsa movie mentioning Pawan Kalyan as ‘Chikkipoyina Chiranjeevi’. The pattern of Pawan Kalyan’s moves, both political and films, is resembling that of Chiranjeevi.
Chiranjeevi waited long to come back to films after his disastrous political journey, due to the inhibitions on how the audience will accept him back at films. It is not the same with Pawan, as the Janasena leader is jumping on two boats, after shaking hands with BJP.
The interesting part is that Pawan Kalyan chose a remake film, Pink, for his comeback film, just like Chiranjeevi has gone for the remake of Tamil blockbuster Katthi, titled Khaidi No 150 in Telugu. Not stopping there, Pawan Kalyan reportedly started shooting for his next with Krish, which is touted to be a period drama, again, just like Chiru did with Sye Raa, a period film on Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.
Well, it should be a sheer coincidence that Pawan Kalyan’s choice of films post-political stint appears to be a pattern of Chiranjeevi’s films. Apart from films, the political fans of Pawan Kalyan are much worried if he decides to merge Janasena forever in BJP, just like Chiranjeevi merged his PRP with Congress. They hope he does not follow the political pattern, not even by coincidence.
Dancers Beat Kangana, Though Both Are Below Par
Like we said already, though Kangana Ranaut scored few points through her Kabaddi acts in “Panga” and the likes of Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor scored marks with their dances in “Street Dancer 3D”, the major missing elements of drama, entertainment and intriguing narration have taken its toll we must say.
Despite the tall claims made Kangana Ranaut and her team about Pangaa’s magnanimity and other great perspectives, the film struggled to touch even 20 crores mark in the Indian circuit. It has collected 19 crores nett in its First Week at the box office and we must say that even Kangana getting a Padmasri award hasn’t boosted the film’s collections.
However, due to the glamorous presence of Shradhha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi, and their spicy dances that have set the screen on fire, it looks like Dancers are faring a bit better. ‘Street Dancer 3D’ collected 53+ crores nett in Indian circuits, thus making a gross of 70 crores gross from worldwide box office. For the bduget invested on the project, this is nowhere looking like a positive prospect.
On the other hand, Ajay Devgan’s Tanhaji collected 235 crores nett while Good Newz collected 205 crores nett, becoming two all time blockbusters.
Rumour: Maruthi Demanding 6 Cr From That Producer
Running high with the success of his latest movie Prathiroju Pandage, director Maruthi is said to be planning his next project. However, the director has given a commitment to producer DVV Danayya that he will be launching the producer’s son as a hero. Here comes the rumour about this nexus now.
without having big expectations on Prathiroju Pandage, actually Maruthi is said to have agreed to do a film for DVV Danayya to launch the producer’s son for a nominal remuneration. And now that he got a super hit with the Saidharam starrer, the director is said to be demanding nearly 6 crores remuneration for this project. Rather asking this directly, he is said to have given a shocker to the #RRR producer.
Rather launching Danayya’s son, Maruthi is said to have proposed the idea of making a 40 crores budgeted film with a big star for which he even wants 6 crores remuneration. But with Danayya insisting that he can’t pull off a big budgeted film now due to #RRR pressure, Maruthi is said to have left the option of remuneration on his table to direct the producer’s son.
We have to see what is the truth about this rumour being heard and which film Maruthi is going to take up now.
Danush Kisses Sara Ali Khan To Announce New Film
Reigning Tamil star Danush is not getting things right in Bollywood though he has a good track record in the Tamil arena. He has scored a hit like Asuran here and now wants to go to Bollywood again with the director who introduced him earlier though Raanjhanna in 2013.
It is now official that director L Anand Rai whose last film ‘Zero’ was a debacle, now getting ready to do another cute love story as he did earlier. He is now bringing Sara Ali Khan as his leading lady, while Danush will be the hero. And none other than Akshay Kumar is playing the special guest role in the movie. To announce the same, a picture featuring Danush and Akshay kissing Sara is released a while ago.
Surely Sara Ali Khan felt quite lucky for bagging such a set of projects even though her career is in initial stages. While her Love Aaj Kal directed by Imtiyaz Ali is up for release, a film with Anand Rai will surely take her acting prowess to next level.
Titled ‘Atrangi Re’, this film featuring Sara, Danush and Akshay will hit floors in March and will hit cinemas on February 14th, 2021.
