‘English Medium’ Can’t Be Forced: HC

Share

In a surprise the AP High Court expressed its seriousness on the Jagan led AP government’s initiative to introduce English medium in all the government schools from the next academic year. “The students should be given enough liberty to select the medium they want to pursue and it can’t be forced,” said the Court.

Based on a petition filed by an activist name Srinivas, the High court made these comments. The court also cited Supreme Court’s previous orders of enforced English medium education. The court also warned that if the government officials ignore the court orders, there would be severe consequences.

Also the High Court has summoned principal secretary of the education department to filed a detailed affidavit in the next hearing.

This is unexpected from the High Court and we have to see how AP government reacts on the court’s fresh ruling.

Watch: Salman Khan ‘misbehaves’ with fan

Panaji: Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Tuesday created a stir after a video of him snatching a mobile phone from the hands of a Goa airport staffer who tried to click a selfie with the actor went viral.

The students’ wing of Congress, National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), has urged Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to ban Khan from entering Goa if he does not apologise publicly.

Goa BJP General Secretary and former MP Narendra Sawaikar has also slammed Khan for his “deplorable” behaviour and has demanded an unconditional apology.

The incident occurred when Khan, who is in Goa to shoot for an upcoming film, landed at the Goa International Airport in Dabolim on Tuesday morning.

In the video, an Airport Authority of India (AAI) official could be seen walking ahead of Khan near the departure gate and taking photos with the actor walking in the backdrop. After a few seconds, the irritated actor could be seen snatching his phone and walking towards an awaiting car.

The NSUI has demanded an apology from the actor.

“I request your kind authority to look into this matter with utter seriousness and demand an apology from the actor on public platform since it was a disgrace to the fan publicly, failing which such violent actors with a bad track record should not be allowed to visit Goa in the future,” Goa NSUI President Ahraz Mulla said in a letter to Chief Minister Sawant.

The Goa BJP has also condemned the incident.

“Being a celebrity, people and your fans will take selfies in public places. Your attitude and behaviour is most deplorable. You have to tender an unconditional public apology @BeingSalmanKhan,” Sawaikar tweeted.

A senior official at the Goa airport also confirmed the incident and said that airport staffers had been cautioned against taking selfies with VIP guests.

MAA Naresh, And Never Ending Controversy

Share

The controversy surrounding Movie Artists Association (MAA) seems to be never ending. Earlier this month, Rajasekhar created a ruckus at the diary launch event and then he resigned to the vice-president position. Since then pro-President Naresh group and Rajasekhar group are on a war of words.

In a fresh row, Executive Council members are seriously upset with Naresh and added that he is indulging in many irregularities. They have lodged a nine-page written complaint against Naresh to the disciplinary committee.

In this letter, the EC members reportedly alleged that President Naresh is taking unilateral decision with consulting the members and is bringing a bad name to MAA. The disciplinary committee is scheduled to meet later today and is likely to a decision on the complaint written by the Executive council.

However, pro-Rajasekhar group are giving leaks to the media that Naresh will be thrown out of MAA shortly and the association will once again go for elections.

Ex-TRS minister Fires on current TRS minister

Share

Former Telangana Home minister Naini Narasimha Reddy has lost his importance in the TRS party yet he is sticking to the party as he shares good association with KCR since the beginning of the Telangana agitation.

However, in the recent times, Naini was in headlines for wrong reasons. First he was upset with KCR for denying ticket to him and his nephew. And later he made some notable comments against TRS leadership off the record. Once again Naini made it to the headlines for his controversial remarks on TRS minister Malla Reddy.

At a diary launch event, Naini said, “It is our bad fate to have Malla Reddy as labour minister. Instead of being on the side of workers and employees, he is with managements and troubling the workers. I pity to see such a workless minister in the Telangana cabinet.”

Adding, “Government employees and workers have no freedom. They can’t go for strike considering the present scenario which is completely a helpless situation.”

Seems like Naini is making his presence felt in the TRS party whenever he is getting an opportunity.

KCR’s Friend: Jagan’s Decision Non Sense!

Share

The fast paced political developments in AP have garnered national attention. Naturally, neighbouring Telangana state is closely observing the moves of AP. While CM KCR has denied to comment on AP’s political conditions, TRS MP from Rajya Sabha and senior-most leader K Keshava Rao has found fault with AP CM Jagan’s decision of abolishing the Council. He said Jagan’s comment over Council that it is an expenditure is “wrong” and “non sense”. He stressed the need to have the Council and its importance. He said the Upper House holds high be it in State or the Centre.

Keshava Rao said the Centre would usually implement the resolutions passed by the state governments. And it could take some time for their implementation.

Meanwhile, Keshava Rao has met the State Election Commissioner (SEC) Nagi Reddy over Congress party’s complaint on him to the SEC for utilizing the Ex Officio member vote in Nereducharla. Soon after meeting the SEC, Keshava Rao has spoken to media. Defending his vote, Keshava Rao said it is not correct to find fault with his vote. Keshava Rao said, ” KVP and I had exchanged the representing states and handed over our letters. Then Union Minister Prakash Javadekar had also passed the orders on the same. I had explained my concerns to the SEC.”

Keshava Rao raised his objection over KVP Ramchandra Rao’s vote power in Nereducharla. He said Congress’ KVP doesn’t even have a regular vote in Telangana state and how he was allowed to vote in Nereducharla. On the other hand, Congress leaders object Keshava Rao utilizing his vote as Ex Officio member. Keshava Rao is the MP of Rajyasabha representing Andhra Pradesh state. Despite being from Telangana he was assigned to Andhra Pradesh because of the lot method used to assign Rajya Sabha members for the newly created Telangana and residual Andhra Pradesh. And this led to the controversy between TRS and Congress in Nereducharla.

Upper House Abolition: Revanth Blames KCR-Jagan Friendship

Share

Once a TDP firebrand and present Congress working president Revanth spoke about the latest happenings in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Revanth Reddy condemned Jagan’s government’s act of abolishing the legislative council and called it a move against the constitutional spirit and irrational.

AP assembly adopting a resolution to abolish the Legislative council for not passing a bill, is not a just process, according to Revanth Reddy. Also saying that it is state government’s wish to decide on as many capitals as they want, he felt getting down to abolish the legislative council in that process is not right.

Bringing his arch-rival KCR into Upper-house abolition, Revanth alleges that Jagan is getting these ideas of destructing the system, from his friendship with KCR. Giving more predictions, Revanth said that KCR wanted the neighbor state to be chaos so he could be happy.

‘If Jagan continues his friendship with KCR, the future of both AP and Jagan will be dark’ said Revanth in Delhi during a brief chat with media.

I’m A Big Fan Of Chiranjeevi: Shiva

Producer Raj Kandukuri’s son Shiva Kandukuri is testing his luck as hero with a rom com Choosi Choodangaane releasing this week on 31st.Shiva avows that he always wanted to become an actor.

“When I was studying in USA, we had an option to pick any elective. I chose theaters, as to test my acting skills. I needed to perform in front of my classmates. When I started getting applause from the crowd, I decided to try acting.”

About his biggest inspiration for becoming an actor, Shiva says, “I’m a big fan of Megastar Chiranjeevi garu. Though he is a big star, he encourages small time films.”

The young chap informs that, all the lead cast attended the workshop for about 30 days, before the start of the shoot.

“It’s a genuine story. All the characters will have relatability. My character has 8 years of span. While I play a wedding photographer, Varsha will be seen as a drummer.”

Shiva Kandukuri has already lined up couple of interesting films and he says he has special interest for crime thrillers.

“I want to experiment with different genre films. I love crime and thriller films.”

Varsha Bollamma and Malavika Satheesan played heroines in the film directed by Sesha Sindhu Rao.

Now, Ganta takes U-turn on capital!

Share

It looks like taking U-turns have become a natural habit for the Telugu Desam Party leaders in Andhra Pradesh, starting from party president N Chandrababu Naidu to his party legislators.

Take the fresh case of TDP legislator from Visakhapatnam (north) Ganta Srinivasa Rao.

He was the first party leader who came out in support of the shifting of administrative capital from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam by the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government, openly defying his party stand.

He even held a meeting of TDP leaders from Visakhapatnam to express solidarity with the Jagan government’s decision. This led to the talk that Ganta would be joining the YSR Congress party sooner or later.

But now, Ganta took a sudden U-turn. He told reporters on Tuesday that it was not so easy for the Jagan government to shift the administrative capital to Visakhapatnam. The courts also will not keep quiet for the hasty decision of shifting capital, he warned.

“As a local MLA, I welcome if the capital comes to Vizag. But I will stand by whatever decision the party will take,” he said.

The former minister also found fault with the Jagan government on its decision to abolish the legislative council just because the TDP got the capital bills referred to the select committee.

“Abolition of legislative council is unreasonable and a hasty decision. YSRC would have got majority if it could wait for a year. The TDP has nothing to lose. Our party has not brought any pressure on the legislative council chairman,” he said.

The TDP legislator, who has been keeping away from party activities, has decided to become active again in the wake of elections to Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation.

Ganta held a meeting with party workers in his office to chalk out the future course of action.

Jagan acts fast on council, sends resolution to centre!

Share

YSR Congress party government in Andhra Pradesh led by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy seems to be acting in a breakneck speed to get the state legislative council abolished at the earliest.

Within hours of the state assembly adopting a resolution abolishing the legislative council with a mandate of 133-0, the Jagan government sent the resolution to the Union home ministry with a request to introduce a bill in Parliament in this regard.

Soon after the assembly was adjourned sine die after adopting the resolution, the assembly secretariat sent the resolution copy to state chief secretary.

By Tuesday morning, the chief secretary forwarded the resolution copy to the Centre along with all the details of the assembly discussions.

The chief secretary requested that the Centre take a quick decision on the assembly resolution and see that it got the approval from the President of India.

Now, the issue has gone form the purview of the state government and the ball is thrown into the court of the Centre.

Interestingly, the assembly resolution was also sent directly to the Union law department and also the Election Commission of India, so that there would be no further notifications on the vacancies in the legislative council.

Apparently, Jagan is learnt to have decided to entrust the responsibility to his party general secretary and state government’s official representative in New Delhi V Vijay Sai Reddy, of pursuing the matter with the Centre and see that the bill is introduced in the coming budget session of Parliament.

Mahesh & Bunny Should Learn From These Superstars

The issue of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Sarileru Neekevvaru announcing same-day releases, moving them to a two day gap, then contemplating for same day release again, and then sticking to the changed dates- is a known thing. And now, the films are also waging war by claiming ‘industry hit’ status. For the two star heroes of these two films, and for the makers of them, here is a lesson they should ‘seriously’ lesson.

Superstar Aamir Khan’s upcoming film “Lal Singh Chaddha” was set for December 25, 2020 release. Though the release is still almost a year away, in Bollywood they strictly follow the release dates and stick to huge promotions regarding the same. But surprisingly, another Superstar Akshay Kumar’s “Bachhan Pandey” was also set for the same date. Understanding the need for a solo release, Aamir Khan has called up Akshay Kumar to talk about the same after which Akshay pushed his film’s release to January 2021.

“Sometimes all it takes is one conversation. Thank you to my friends Akshay Kumar & Sajid Nadiadwala for their warm gesture of moving the release date of their film Bachchan Pandey at my request. I wish them the very best for their film. Looking forward to it”, tweeted Aamir today, to which Akshay replied a ‘Thank you’.

Even Tollywood has expected similar stuff from Allu Arjun and Mahesh Babu when both the films clashed on the date. Never the two spoke about it, and Mahesh Babu didn’t even wish Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo any luck, while Allu Arjun got to mention about it during his speech. Shouldn’t the two star heroes and their producers learn from Aamir and Akshay about the need for resolution through dialogue?

Deep Cleavage Show Attracts Heavy Trolls

Priyanka Chopra walked the very famous Grammy Awards’ red carpet with Nick Jonas, in a deep neck cleavage revealing white dress. While her plunging neckline dress attracted the fashion world, huge criticism from many kept her at receiving end.

Being fashionable is not wrong and it is one’s own wish to wear whatever they like, but the netizens are feeling that she should have worn a better dress when she is representing India.

Priyanka Chopra might be comfortable in her attire, but the onlookers complain about her over-the-board skin show compared to other actresses at that event. Priyanka going extremely hot to be the center stage is being trolled a lot and is attracting severe criticism.

While this is on one side, Nick Jonas has garnered an equal number of trolls about spinach spots on his teeth, on Grammy awards stage. Well, pushing it on a lighter side, Nick said that the spinach shows that he eats his greens.

Dil Raju Silent on Sarileru Numbers!

Share

Sarileru Neekevvaru’s posters claiming to have beaten Baahubali 1 have taken many by surprise. It has triggered a huge debate in trade and media as well.

However, Nizam distributor and one of the partners of Sarileru Neekevvaru, Dil Raju, is totally silent on the BO collections of the film and its records. Dil Raju, who usually boasts big numbers and records, has been maintaining diplomacy over Sarileru Neekevvaru’s collection. Neither he nor his production house Sri Venkateswara Creations isn’t putting out the Sarileru collections and posters.

On the flip side, Mahesh’s fans are upset with Dil Raju’s silence on Sarileru ‘record’ and not putting out the posters. Apparently, Dil Raju is said to be caught off guard with this strange situation. Raju is smartly avoiding talking about the collections.

Prabhas Deserves All The Name, Says Allu Arjun

Share

There are many celebrities who have not openly praised magnum opus ‘Baahubali’ but they have always heaped the praises on the film in front of SS Rajamouli and Prabhas. Many have called them in person to appreciate it. But then, years later, they appreciate it in the open, in front of the media.

Recently we have seen how Megastar Chiranjeevi has heaped praises on SS Rajamouli at Sye Raa pre-release event saying that Baahubali has taken Indian film industry to next level. He has given a whole lot of pages to praise the mega maker and even stated that the success of Baahubali has inspired him to do Sye Raa. And now Allu Arjun joins this list.

Running high with the success of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Allu Arjun stated that he is happy that his film is standing next to his best friend Prabhas’ movie when it comes to records. When media quizzed about his friend Prabhas, then Bunny said, “I’m super happy for Baahubali because Prabhas deserves every ounce of that craze. Who sits for 5 years on a film and losing crores of remuneration? In those five years, he has to spend only 1.5 years on work, but rest 3.5 years he has to sit idle. That’s a tough thing to do, which only Prabhas has done it”.

Boyapati-Catherine Episode Is Not Done Yet

Share

Recently it has come out that dusky NRI Malayalam beauty Catherine Tresa has walked out of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s next film that has Boyapati Sreenu in the director’s seat. It was said that she didn’t like the remuneration part and hence chose to exit from the project. But that episode is not done yet, says sources.

Apparently Catherine is not worried about remuneration as she knows the fact that director Boyapati Sreenu could get her big number easily like how he did it for Sarrainodu and Jaya Janaki Nayaka. But the actress is worried about doing another off-the-mill kind of role alongside Balayya at a time when she has done a solidly designed character in film like ‘World Famous Lover’ which is due for release.

For that reason, director Boyapati Sreenu was supposed to give a final narration to Catherine about her role, after which the spicy lady will take a call. But that narration didn’t happen as the director lost his mother recently and yet to come out of the grief. Couple of weeks later, after the director narrates the story and character, Catherine will take a final call about Balayya’s film it seems.

But if her role in World Famous Lover goes for a toss, then Catherine might accept the role in Balayya’s movie without second thoughts, feel cine folks.

Zero Investment But Allu’s Hit A Gold Mine!

Share

Allu Arvind and Allu Arjun are laughing all the way to the bank as Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo has become the biggest Non-Baahubali hit ever.Allu Arjun was paid Rs. 24 Cr as remuneration and he also made sure that his father has a forty percent stake in the film.

Allu Aravind hasn’t spent a penny on the film as all the finances were taken care of by S. Radha Krishna.Although Haarika Hassine Creations is capable of producing the film on their own, they agreed to join hands with Geetha Arts on the insistence of Allu Arjun.

Nearly Rs. 120 Cr is spent on the making of AVPL, but the producers will still make lot of profits as the film has become a monstrous hit at the box office. For example, Nizam and UA distribution rights of the film were sold for Rs. 28 Cr and it is set to collect Rs. 55 Cr to Rs. 60 Cr share in these two territories. Dil Raju will get 20% commission on profits and the rest will go to producers.

Same is the case with all other areas in AP where the film is still minting handsome shares.

Will HC order CBI probe into Viveka murder?

Share

The sensational case of YSR Congress party leader and former MP Y S Vivekananda Reddy’s murder at his own residence in Pulivendula in Kadapa district on March 15 last year has still remained a mystery.

Though it has been eight months since YSRC led by Viveka’s nephew Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power in Andhra Pradesh, the case has made no headway and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has not been able to identify the killers.

As a result, there has been a growing demand for entrusting the case to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). A series of petitions have been filed in the state high court demanding that the case be handed over to the CBI.

On Tuesday, Viveka’s daughter Y S Sunitha also filed another petition in the high court demanding the CBI probe into his murder. Earlier, her mother and Viveka’s wife Soubhagyamma also filed the same petition.

Besides, Telugu Desam Party MLC B Tech Ravi and former minister, present Bharatiya Janata Party leader C Adinarayana Reddy also filed separate petitions in the high court demanding that the case be handed over to the CBI.

Apparently, the high court made it clear that it would hear all the petitions together and go into the merits of the demand.

The Jagan government, however, argued that there was no need for the CBI inquiry since the SIT was doing an effective job in the investigation.

However, the high court will take a call after hearing the arguments in the petitions shortly before ordering the CBI probe into the murder.
