CM Jagan To Go NTR Way?
AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy is seems to be going the way of former CM and late NT Ramarao in the issue of Legislative Council. A day after a huge set back from the Council Chairman MA Sharif over the AP Decentralization and Inclusive Development of All Regions Bill, 2020 who referred it to the Select Committee thus delaying the Bill for three more months, AP CM Jagan is toying with the idea of tasting a drastic step – to scrap the Legislative Council.
CM Jagan himself has strongly condemned the act of Legislative Council and its chairman MA Sharif’s decision to send the bills to Select Committee using his special discretionary powers. Speaking in Assembly yesterday, Jagan said is it is murder of democracy. He said the act has raised some serious questions over Council & its functioning. Jagan said, “Is it necessary to have Council?” Jagan went onto state that around Rs 60 Crore is being spent to run the Council and claimed it as an ‘unwanted expenditure’ from public exchequer. CM Jagan said only 6 states in the whole country have Legislative Councils whereas other states doesn’t have. This is clear indication from CM Jagan that he is toying with the idea of abolishing Council.
It can be noted that former CM NT Ramarao had scrapped the Council in 1985 after he had become CM in 1983 and ‘suffering’ a lot from then Legislative Council that was dominated by then Opposition Congress. Looks like, CM Jagan is now set to emulate NTR. Interestingly and ironically, it was Jagan’s own father and late YS Rajasekhar Reddy who had revived Council in 2007.
Meanwhile, even if AP state government comes forward to scrap the Council, the ball goes into the Centre’s court. Home Minister Amit Shah has to take a final call and it is expected that it would take sometime. Until then, it’s going to be tough for CM Jagan as many controversial bills may be stalled in the Council.
It is learnt that CM Jagan and team have already initiated the groundwork in Delhi to get the Council abolished. But given that Janasena and BJP are having tie-up and both these parties are opposing CM Jagan’s proposed 3 capitals to the state, it is unlikely that Home Minister Amit Shah would give in to Jagan’s decision of scrapping Council. The politics in AP have turned interesting.
AP In Capital Chaos, KTR In Davos
The leaders of the AP government and opposition have been getting into personal fights over the ‘capital’ issue for the last few weeks. The chaos is getting so big that many of these AP leaders are too busy to look at how Telangana is leaping big in development.
While the AP state is still on ruckus about the capital, Telangana’s IT Minister KTR is busy shaking hands with biggies at World Economic Forum Summit and is promoting Hyderabad to attract the reputed organizations to invest in Telangana.
KTR is at Davos for #WEF20, discussing growth and innovation with the very famous Merc Benioff, the founder and chairman of Salesforce, Jayesh Ranjan, Parker Harris, Amy Weaver, Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey, YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, Korea’s Startups Minister Park Young-Sun, Largest company making human vaccines Sanofi Pasteur Vice president David Loew, Nestle CEO Asia Chris Johnson, and many other business personalities. KTR invited Google CEO Sundar Pichai to break the ground for World’s second-largest Google campus in Hyderabad.
The TDP leaders who have been observing how elegantly KTR is busy promoting the Hyderabad for further investments, feel that KCR wanted Chandrababu to lose in Andhra Pradesh for this very reason. They opine that Chandrababu would have been matching KTR’s ‘TelanganaAtDavos’ if he becomes CM and might have succeeded in bringing large investments to the state of AP.
For now, AP is in capital Chaos, while KTR is in Davos.
Nagarjuna Finds Faded Heroine For His Next
Though the Akkineni hero is not finding it difficult to find the right heroine for his movies, somehow things are not going well for him at the box office due to the lacklustre content he is selecting. After the failure of Manmadhudu 2, it looks like Nagarjuna is not in a mood to pick another star heroine like Rakul Preet for his films.
Coming up with action-thriller ‘Wild Dog’ that narrates the story of an encounter specialist NIA officer, Nagarjuna already started shooting for the film in Mumbai. Guess what, he has actually found a faded out heroine for the movie and that will be her debut in Telugu. None other than Hyderabad girl Dia Mirza, who has won Miss Asia Pacific crown in 2000, is now likely to play the role of Nagarjuna’s wife in the movie.
The 38-year-old actress acts in films now and then these days, while she did a dozen of films during her prime days. But then, she has never shot to huge fame though her social service work won huge appreciation. We are hearing that Dia is aboard already and started to shoot also, but Wild Dog team hasn’t confirmed it.
On the other hand, the success of this film being directed by debutant Solomon is very crucial for Nagarjuna’s career.
Heroine Banks On Hyd Auditor To Answer IT Folks
A heroine who is raising ranks in the recent times received a shock of her life when IT folks raided her parents’ residence in a remote town in a neighboring state. Buzz has that she amassed almost 200 crore properties in a short period of time and there is lots of unaccounted money at her home.
Whether there is truth in this revelation or not, the heroine’s acts are indicating that there is some sort of wrongdoing on her side when it comes to paying Income Tax properly. As IT Cell folks at Bangalore central office have called her for an explanation, she has other day taken her Hyderabad based auditor along with other team of accountants for the meeting.
After wrapping their meeting with IT folks, the CA and his associates along with the heroine are seen partying at a popular place in Bangalore. When all the IT related accounts are proper, generally celebs don’t take their CAs along. But for a heroine who is yet to make it big in films, an auditor flying all the way to resolve the issue is an indication that she did something wrong.
Rumours On Vijay Deverakonda & Puri Not True
Ever since Puri Jagannadh and Vijay Deverakonda joined forces for Fighter, it created a lot of attention inside and outside film industry. Since this collaboration is after Puri’s blockbuster success of iSmart Shankar, naturally, there are a lot of curiosity.
However, there are also several rumours which circulated the project. While a section of rumours have it that Vijay would play a Boxer in Puri’s Fighter, it is buzzed that the film would be on the lines of Puri and Ravi Teja’s yesteryear superhit Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi.
Meanwhile, Varun Tej is also doing a Boxer role and his film is said to be titled as Boxer. With this, rumours have it that the stories of both Varun’s Boxer and Puri’s Fighter have resemblance.
Now, it is reliably learnt that Puri’s Fighter is no match to either Varun Tej’s Boxer or Puri’s own previous film Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi. It is learnt that Vijay Deverakonda is not at all a boxer in Puri’s Fighter. Apparently, Vijay Deverakonda is playing as a Mixed Martial Arts experts and hence he was trained in Thailand. VD undergone an intense training in Martial Arts. Puri said to have written an interesting script which excited Vijay.
Since this marks Vijay’s Bollywood debut, VD is very conscious about the film. Meanwhile, Karan Johar who is presenting the film in Hindi is also quite impressed with Puri’s script. So, all the rumours that are in circulation on Puri and Vijay’s Fighter are not true.
Releasing Today: Can The Mass Maharaja Bounce Back?
We had seen quite a few comebacks from Telugu Cinema heroes in the recent past. It is Raviteja’s time to get back on track with Disco Raja that is releasing today.
Raviteja’s career graph has gone downhill with a series of disastrous films like Touch Chesi Chudu, Nela Ticket and Amar Akbar Antony.
Raviteja is hoping to make a strong comeback with Disco Raja that offers novelty unlike his recent outings.
Director Vi Anand is said to have experimented with the way he presented Raviteja on screen. It is the story about a musical gangster who belonged to the eighties.
Raviteja is so kicked about Disco Raja that he didn’t do any other films in parallel to it. He made sure to keep himself invested in the character all the time.
Disco Raja looks promising but it is not going to be easy for it to get full attention given how people had gone film frenzy during the festival week.
Keep watching this space for our take on Disco Raja in a few hours.
Guess Who’s Financing Rajamouli’s Magnum Opus #RRR?
Rajamouli’s #RRR budget is more or less equal to Baahubali movies as it is the biggest multi-starrer of this era.
DVV Danayya is the official producer for this film, but he doesn’t have any say regarding the production cost or the business deals.
All he gets is a share in the profits and his name will be credited as the producer of this magnum opus.
Rajamouli and his team is dealing with all the finances of #RRR. Even the finance for #RRR was given on Rajamouli’s name.
According to reports, Matrix Prasad is the sole financier for #RRR as top financier Satya Rangayya refused to give finance for a low Rs. 1.5 interest.
Matrix Prasad who had earlier financed Baahubali 2 agreed to pump in the money if Rajamouli takes full responsibility.
#RRR is red hot in the trade that it got an offer for around Rs. 100 Cr alone from Andhra region alone. Three to six distributors are vying for the distribution rights of #RRR from each are despite the staggering asking price.
Can you imagine what would be the total theatrical business of #RRR if the rights of Andhra alone goes for Rs. 100 Cr ratio.
