Mahesh ready to break his hit combination sentiment!
Mahesh Babu continued with Mani Sharma for most of his films since his debut and Khaleja broke that combination. In between, he worked with AR Rahman, Ramana Gogula, Harris Jayraj but everyone thought Mahesh and Mani are a musically set combination.
He preferred Thaman over Mani for Dookudu and then, he went for Mickey J Mayer with Seethamma Vakitlo Srimalle Chettu. When everyone thought he will go for Pokiri combination for Businesman, he encouraged Thaman.Devi Sri Prasad got his first chance to compose for Mahesh with Sukumar’s film, 1Nenokkadine. Even though film failed, as Aagadu with Thaman also failed, DSP got second chance with Srimanthudu.
Movie became a huge hit and Mahesh continued to work with DSP for Bharat Ane Nenu, Maharshi and Sarileru Neekevvaru. He tried Mickey J Mayer and Harris Jayraj again for Brahmostavam & Spyder, respectively.As they failed at box office and BAN, became a hit, for next two films, DSP continued. But his music for Maharshi, SLN did not become as massive success as other two albums.
It did affect the business of his film as AVPL scored huge over SLN due to record smashing audio. Seems like that made Vamshi Paidipally and Mahesh go for Thaman this time around.With the kind of form, Thaman is in, we believe he might give one of his bests for Mahesh too, as he is going to work with him after a long gap and the movie is highly commercial entertainer.

Mahesh fans fire on Thaman!
‘Ala Vaikunthapuramlo’ is running successfully at the box-office with packed theatres. The combination of Trivikram and Allu Arjun scored a hattrick with this film and Trivikram handed over the entire credit to music composer Thaman during the success celebrations. Afterwards, Thaman spoke on stage and his speech is becoming a hot topic on social media.
Thaman told on stage that they showed real collections and won which was appreciated by Trivikram and Allu Aravind who were seated. While few netizens are claiming that Thaman’s “real collections” comments were aimed at ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’, Mahesh fans are asking Thaman to remember who made him a star music director.
Mahesh fans are saying that it was ‘Dookudu’ which took Thaman to next level and are telling him to remember that fact on social media. A lot of trolls are pouring down on Thaman from Mahesh fans and in the meanwhile, he is expected to compose music for Mahesh’s next film.
Mahesh’s wait for ‘Blockbuster’ continues…
The festival season has come to an end and people are back to their routine. Films which made a fortune during the festive season are witnessing a drop in collections and ‘Saileru Neekevvaru’ is facing that effect at large.
The collections went a bit down before Monday but the situation became worse from then as per trade analysts. The occupancy in theatres has come down by half which is worrying the distributors. Despite getting an average talk, Mahesh’s stardom and festive season helped this film in getting tremendous collections. The film returned almost 80% of its investment and will eventually reach the breakeven mark in most of the areas. But the situation is war from what the producers are publicising. It is not a non-Baahubali film as marketed. The film failed to enter the Top 10 list in the overseas market which is stunned even Mahesh Babu’s fans.
As this is a mass entertainer, most of the people thought ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ will become a blockbuster but it didn’t happen. The mediocre content dampened the film’s chances and looks like Mahesh has to wait for some more time to get his blockbuster film with huge profits.
Allu Arjun is the only true Mega Power Star: RGV
Controversies’ very own son Ram Gopal Varma is back. He is at it again. This time he has targeted the burning topic in film industry – the clash between Allu Arjun and superstar this Sankranthi season. Heaping praises on Allu Arjun as one of the descendants of comedian Allu Ramalingaiah, RGV said he has beaten superstar and Megas.
Taking to Twitter, RGV wrote and later deleted, “The truly great phenomenon of @alluarjun is that he just as one descendants of comedian Ramalingiah has F’ed both the super star and also the Megas ..@alluarjun is the only true MegaPowerStar”
RGV’s tweet coincides with Allu Arjun’s phenomenal feat at the USA box office. Bunny has entered into USD 3 Million club. The film is now racing towards highest grosser in US (non-Baahubali record). RGV’s tweet comes as a shot in the arm for Allu Arjun’s fans on Twitter.

Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo Clocks USD 3 Million in 10 Days
Within just 10 days of its release, Allu Arjun and Trivikram Srinivas’ Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo has pulled off a rare feat at the USA Box Office. The film has clocked USD 3 Million Gross in 10 days. Thus, it becomes first movie of Allu Arjun to enter into USD 3 Million club in the US. And thus, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo becomes the true Sankranthi Box Office Winner at the USA box office.
Allu Arjun’s outstanding performance, Trivikram’s directorial brilliance, Thaman’s blockbuster music combined with unanimous positive reviews of critics and great word of mouth all together made it a blockbuster this festive season. US distributors, who have minted money, are on cloud nine and laughing all the way to the banks.
Now, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo has emerged as a threat to the records of Prabhas’ Saaho ( USD 3.23 Million), Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu ( USD 3.41 Million) and Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam ( USD 3.51 Million). It becomes more interesting as where Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s full run ends at. If it crosses Rangasthalam’s record, this will be a great feat as it will become third highest grosser in the US standing next only to Baahubali 2 ( USD 20 Million) and Baahubali 1 (USD 6.99 Million).
Keerthy Suresh Lost Bollywood Offer Due To Weight Loss?
As we know, Priyamani, who is getting popular in the North with series like Family man, has now been replaced cute and bubbly South beauty Keerthy Suresh in an upcoming Bollywood film called Maidaan, starring Ajay Devgn. Keerthy Suresh was elated to be a part of Maidaan and that too opposite a big actor like Ajay. She also earlier quoted that taking a plunge into B-town is a blessing.
However, this Amit Ravindernath Sharma’s direction will now have Priyamani. While the news of actresses replacement is the talk of the town now, the reason will leave you in surprise. Since Keerthy Suresh lost oodles of weight, the actress thought it would be a plus for her future roles and much in terms of aesthetically. But, in Maidaan, Keerthy Suresh is supposed to play a mom’s character. But the latest news suggests that Keerthy was asked to drop because she looks too young for the mother’s role as she lost weight.
The film team said that Keerthy has indeed shot for the film one day. However, the filmmakers and the actress both have mutually felt that she looked way too younger than the age required for the character. Keeping her dream of entering Bollywood aside, Keerthy had to withdraw her offer. Ajay Devgn will be seen as Syed Abdul Rahim, a coach and manager of Indian football team between 1950 to 1963.
The film is said to be generating high expectations as it is a biopic with inspiring content. Ajay is currently enjoying his latest release Tanhaji’s huge success and Priyamani is simultaneously busy shooting for Thailaivi, Jayalalithaa’s biopic, in Sasikala’s role.

Vijay Deverakonda’s name rings bell in Bollywood with the Hindi version of Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh, turned out to be a blockbuster. In fact, Vijay’s Dear Comrade Hindi remake rights were bagged by Karan Johar himself. As Vijay is all set for his most-awaited Bollywood debut with Puri Jagannadh’s Fighter, he has got good news.
The Hindi dubbed version of Dear Comrade which coincidentally released on YouTube got tremendous response. Within 24 hours, the Hindi dubbed version of Dear Comrade got over 11 million plus organic views on YouTube. This is despite that the original movie is on Amazon Prime and was viewed well by audience who missed it in theatres. This response to Hindi-dubbed version of DC is big boost to Vijay and Puri on the eve of their Pan Indian project Fighter.
Puri is all set to showcase Vijay in never-before angry young man in action drama Fighter. Apparently, Vijay will be seen as a boxer. Vijay has undergone rigorous training in Martial Arts in Thailand under special trainer. As Karan Johar (who released the likes of Baahubali) is presenting Vijay’s Fighter in Hindi, there is so much attention in Bollywood about the film. Three capitals: Equal justice to all!
YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has finally done what he wanted to do. He was firm on doing away with Amaravati as the seat of administration and shift it to Visakhapatnam.
And he has done it without any hassles, notwithstanding the protests from Amaravati and the Telugu Desam Party.
Interestingly, Jagan tried to appease the protestors saying Amaravati will continue to be the capital for assembly sessions, he declared that he was only adding two more capitals – Visakhapatnam as executive capital and Kurnool as judicial capital to ensure equal justice to all the regions.
What Jagan has done right or wrong will be proved in the coming years, but it only shows that he has taken a bold decision and also a calculated risk. If it works out well and the state really prospers, it will be a big achievement for Jagan.
The pro-Telugu Desam Party media, which has been running a series of stories against the Jagan government’s decision to shift the administrative capital to Visakhapatnam, defending Amaravati and highlighting the agitation by the farmers of Amaravati all these days, have nothing to say now.
On Tuesday, the two pro-TDP dailies – Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy, while giving big coverage to the passage of bills in the assembly – one doing away with Amaravati as the capital development region and second on creation of three capitals, also highlighted the highhanded behaviour of the police in crushing the Chalo Assembly rally of the farmers.
The lathicharge on farmers in the morning, the suspension of TDP legislators including N Chandrababu Naidu and the arrest of Guntur MP Galla Jayadev in the afternoon and Naidu in the evening were also the big news of the day for the pro-TDP papers.
Since there is nothing much for the farmers to hereafter, except knocking the doors of the judiciary, there will be nothing much even for the pro-TDP media, too, to write about Amaravati. Yet, they will do their best to campaign against the decision, even after the administration is shifted to Visakhapatnam.
Being the mouth-piece of the ruling YSR Congress party, Sakshi completely ignored the Amaravati farmers’ agitation and instead, sought to highlight the party-sponsored celebrations in other parts of the state, appreciating Jagan’s decision. The party organised milk baths and distribution of sweets at different places, particularly in north-coastal Andhra.
However, all the three major dailies gave equal importance to Jagan’s speech in the assembly, where he assured do equal justice to all regions and all sections of people while running the administration from Visakhapatnam.
Interestingly, Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy sought to generate sympathy for Naidu by giving prominent coverage to his appeal to Jagan Mohan Reddy with folded hands, “though the chief minister being very younger to him.”
Sakshi also carried prominently the directions given by Speaker Tammineni Sitaram to the government to order a comprehensive probe into the alleged insider trading in Amaravati. This was conveniently ignored by the other two major dailies.
The unanimous election of J P Nadda as the Bharatiya Janata Party national president was the only other major news that figured on the front pages of the major Telugu dailies.
Ala Vaikunthapurramloo Crosses $3M Milestone
Joining the ranks of “Rangasthalam”, “Bharat Ane Nenu” and “Saaho”, Allu Arjun and Trivikram’s musical drama “Ala Vaikunthapurramloo” has added another feat to its account.
The film has crossed the $3 million at the USA box-office. Barring “Baahubali” movies, only three other movies had earned such huge money in the USA.
The entertainer has added nearly 125k dollars at 9 PM EST in its second Monday as well taking its total past $3 million mark.
It grossed 21 crores from the USA alone. Another Rs 4 crore came from the Gulf, Australia, UK, and Canada regions.
The film has now become one of the most profitable projects ever for overseas distributors. It was sold for modest Rs 8 crore for the entire overseas market.
“Ala Vaikunthapurramloo” will continue its dream run for another week or two.
TRS minister in trouble over audio-tape leak!
Former Telangana Rashtra Samithi MP and presently labour minister in the Telangana cabinet Ch Malla Reddy has landed in deep trouble over the leakage of an audio tape in which he was heard demanding money for issuing party tickets for the candidates in municipal elections.
The audio clips, which went viral in the social media, revealed that Malla Reddy and his son-in-law Marri Rajasekhar Reddy were demanding lakhs of rupees to give TRS party tickets.
He said the audio clip was of a telephonic conversation between Malla Reddy and his son-in-law with ticket aspirants.
The audio clips are learnt to have gone to the notice of TRS working president K T Rama Rao, who reportedly pulled up the minister for selling party tickets. The party has found itself in the most embarrassing situation.
Taking advantage of these audio conversations, the Congress leaders lodged a complaint with the police demanding that a case of corruption be registered against the minister.
All India Congress Committee (AICC) Spokesperson Dr Dasoju Sravan sought to know whether seeking money to give party ticket was not corruption.
He appealed to the Anti-Corruption Bureau to register a suo motu case against the minister and his relatives.
He said some aspirants have also spoken to media accusing the minister of demanding huge amounts.
He said when ACB could arrests employees for demanding money, why was it silent when a similar crime was allegedly being committed by a minister, he asked.
The Congress leader also demanded that Election Commission take against Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao who intimidated the voters by saying that he would come to know whom they have voted for in the municipal elections.
A Big Task Ahead For Disco Raja After Sankranthi Storm
Telugu people have more than Rs. 300 Cr on the Sankranthi movies. They really did have a blast at the Cinemas this festival. There would be a lull after such a huge storm and it would be pretty difficult for the films that follow.
Raviteja’s Disco Raja is in line to release next. It is all set to come on this Friday. This film looks promising from the outset with a director like Vi Anand at its helm.
However, Disco Raja should really get superb word of mouth for people to get back in mood for another cinema.
Raviteja’s recent track record has been very poor and he really needs a good hit to get back in the game.
Around Rs. 22 Cr is at stake on this film and it is not going to be easy for Disco Raja to earn so much especially after a busy Sankranthi at the box office.
It doesn’t have a public holiday in its first week as the Republic Day is on Sunday this year.
