Telangana: BJP – Congress Secret Pact
Telangana municipal elections have garnered curiosity with opposition getting united to take on ruling TRS. The arch rivals BJP and Congress have hidden pact in a lot of districts to corner ruling TRS candidates. Where BJP has a strong candidate, Congress leaders are unofficially supporting and vice versa.
It is also said that there is a secret understanding between both the party’s state leaders to have even post-poll alliances to wipe out TRS from the chairman posts. This is a unique situation in Telangana state as else where both Congress and BJP are crossing swords. In districts like Nalgonda, openly both Congress and BJP are helping each other.
Meanwhile, TRS’ full support to MIM is not going down well with both BJP and Congress. While Asaduddin Owaisi is getting permission to campaign freely, BJP leaders like Raja Singh are obstructed. These have angered BJP leaders which made them befriend with Congress locally in order to counter TRS. Even Congress leaders who are waiting to teach lesson to TRS are supporting BJP candidates where BJP has winning chances.
None other than minister KTR openly alleged that both the national parties have colluded to take on TRS in the municipal polls. “In most of the places, the BJP and Congress are in an understanding and supporting each other. It is shameful on their part,” KTR said.
The elections to 130 urban local bodies (ULBs) are being held on January 22. And the counting of votes and declaration of results will be done on January 25. The Lotus Party is hoping to spring surprise everyone with the result in these polls. In 2019 general elections for Lok Sabha, BJP had shocked everyone by bagging 4 MP seats. It is hoping to recreate similar magic and position itself as a serious contender in Telangana alongside TRS and Congress. Let’s wait for Jan 25th to know the people’s verdict.
PRP To Janasena, Money Plays The Key Role!
The obvious allegations on ‘package’ deserve the top slot ever since the Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan somehow found his party’s ideologies coincide with that of BJP. Janasena was not what he says is today, because when it was launched his speeches about revolution, development, society, and caste no longer make sense when he feels that BJP, along with him are the saviors of state Andhra Pradesh.
Well, we need not really discuss on ‘package’ or ‘power’ greed here, as the money allegations remain the same for their permanently not-proved status and about ministries, the alliance should register a win to talk about it. Here we are talking about the Janasena founder’s money from his pocket that he has to spend for the party and its future, but not the package he allegedly takes.
Pawan Kalyan founded Janasena in 2014 and faced two elections from which he managed to gain trust, at least not much trust that can win a seat for himself. He has to spend his own money to maintain the party, meetings and other stuff. There is no big shot with loads of money to support his party and neither has a rich funding firm on his side. Unlike his movies where he is paid huge even when the whole crew of film works harder than him, Pawan has to look after many issues on his own money with Janasena.
Building the trust for the party from booth level cadre and first-level party workers needs stability and money, both, unfortunately, were not sufficient enough. So drawing comparison to how Chiranjeevi merged his party in Congress, Chiru too needed large chunks of money to spend for the party and his dream of becoming CM appeared to remain the same. So he decided to choose films over politics when he found nothing much is happening in politics and he had to do it before one of the younger heroes claim the throne in Telugu cinema.
A similar scenario seems to be repeating here as Pawan Kalyan is slowly moving towards the films, where he gets the money and the BJP will call him when he has to give an emotional speech also by taking care of Janasena, which no longer is a serious political party. From the man who promised to stay here for people for decades to the man who ignored the public, real Janasainiks to strike an alliance with a political party, surprisingly with the same ideology, is Pawan Kalyan for us. The money he needed to maintain the party appears to be the culprit or cause of this alliance.
While many political analysts suspect a merger if this alliance makes its presence felt in the next elections, the admirers of Janasena are worried if the party completely vanishes if it does not make the needed in 2024. For now, he is Kamala Janasenani.

The two cute little munchkins of Tollywood, Sitara and Aadhya are leaving no stone unturned with their mischievous actions and naughty expressions. Boyapati Srinu’s mother passes away
Sensational filmmaker Boyapati Srinu’s Mother, Boyapati Sitaravamma passed away on Jan 17 at 7.20 pm. Sitaravamma was an 80-year-old active lady and she died due to age-related problems. It is reported that the director’s mother was taking treatment from the past few days. Unfortunately, she breathed her last in Peddakakani village, Guntur, her hometown.
The last rites of Boyapati Sitaravamma will be held today and biggies like Nandamuri family, Jagapathi Babu, Venkatesh, Mega family and a few others, besides politicians are expected to participate in the final rites of Boyapati Srinu’s Mother. May her soul rest in peace!
On the work front, Boyapati Srinu who made Vinaya Vidheya Rama last is now busy with pre-production work with Balayya, his third with the actor. NBK106 will have Rakul Preet and Catherine Tresa in the female lead roles.
Aswathama song promo: Shaurya exhibits his dance skills
Hero Naga Shaurya who has been confined to soft roles so far, is doing an action entertainer titled ‘Aswathama.’
The film is gearing up for month end release and the musical promotions have already kick-started. The promo of the song ‘Maahi’ is unveiled and it has Naga Shaurya exhibiting his dance skills.
The song sounds like a wedding festive vibe one with a melody touch. Form Shaurya’s class act to the cinematography, the song is filled with all ingredients. Sri Charan Pakala is composing music for this film.
Being directed by Ramana Teja, Mehreen is pairing with Naga Shaurya in this flick.
Old age no hurdle to become PCC chief?
Veteran Congress leader and former Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao has found fault with the Congress high command for not considering seniority and caste equations in the appointment of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief.
VH has not hidden his disappointment over the reports that the high command is considering the names of relatively young leaders like A Revanth Reddy, D Sridhar Babu and G Chinna Reddy for the post of Telangana PCC chief.
“Why is the party ignoring seniors like me? It is unfortunate that they are taking into consideration the age factor for the PCC chief post. The high command should not take decisions sitting in Delhi, but it should take the views of the party cadre in districts before taking decisions,” VH said.
Claiming himself a trusted soldier of the Congress party and a loyalist of Rajiv Gandhi, the veteran leader said only a BC leader like him should be appointed as the PCC chief, instead of looking at only Reddy community.
“When Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is constructing buildings for the BC communities, the Congress high command is ignoring BCs,” he regretted.
“At least for the sake of appeasing the BC communities, I should be made the PCC chief. And the upper caste leaders should support my candidature,” he said.
He attacked AICC general secretary K C Venugopal for influencing the decision of the high command.
“Venugopal came to Hyderabad only on the day of election of CLP leader. He was not seen here again. He cannot take decisions based on lobbying by a few,” VH said.
Can Sarileru Neekevvaru Achieve Breakeven Status?
None of Mahesh Babu’s films post Srimanthudu achieved the breakeven status in USA.Bharat Ane Nenu grossed close to $3.5 Million, but it didn’t breakeven because of ridiculously high selling price.
Maharshi did okay in the domestic circuit, but didn’t even collect $2 Million gross in the United States.Sarileru Neekevvaru opened on a strong note, but was heavily hit by Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo that has dominated the North American box office since its release.
SLNE will go past the $2 Million mark by this weekend, but the breakeven status looks highly unlikely given the dip in its collection.Its overseas rights were sold for Rs. 3.5 Cr higher than Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and the Allu Arjun starrer has dominated everywhere.
While AVPL has high chances to gross anywhere between $2.7 Million to $3 Million, SLNE may go down as a disappointment for Mahesh at the overseas box office.Thanks to the mediocre masala movies that he has been doing, the so-called King of the overseas market is not living up to his name lately.
Frustrated Kammas want separate coastal AP!
The ongoing controversy over shifting of administrative capital from Amaravati to north-coastal city of Visakhapatnam by the YSR Congress party government led by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy seems to have frustrated a section of Kamma community leaders a lot.
The frustration of this section has gone to such an extent that some of them are now demanding a separate state for coastal Andhra.
Though Visakhapatnam is also a coastal city, probably these people are raising the demand for a separate state for Kamma belt of Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam districts.
A recent post by an NRI Satish Chaganti in the social media read like this: “Forget Chandrababu Naidu and forget TDP. Having faced so much injustice, we have no option but to demand for separate coastal Andhra state. If BJP gives it, let us say “Jai” for it; if Pawan Kalyan takes it up, let us support him. If we don’t set aside our castes and fight unitedly, we will be left with a begging bowl. Income comes from us, but enjoyment is theirs. We cannot tolerate it anymore.”
Apparently, this gentleman was frustrated with the collapse of Amaravati capital city because if capital is not there, his project of Kosta Marina, a riverfront aimed at promoting water- based tourism, besides becoming a venue for national and international water sports events at Venkatapalem in Amaravati, will be wound up.
The project was floated by AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) which called for tenders and finalised Kosta Marina and Chaganti is one of the directors of the company.
The project also proposed to develop a recreational drive-in with an open-air theatre and an outdoor games arena in about two to three acres of land. TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu laid foundation stone for the project in early 2019.
The project was part of transforming the River Krishna waterfront area into a recreation/leisure spot, where the residents of the capital region could drive in and spend some quality time. The project was supposed to be taken up under Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Now, with Amaravati all set to go into the history, all such fancy projects will go in the dust bin. That is why investors like Chaganti are frustrated!

Hero Allari Naresh who was last seen in an important role in Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi seems to be willing to make his mark in solo hero films.
He took his time to sign his next as he was waiting for a winning script for all these days.
Apparently, Naresh is impressed with a story narrated by first timer Vijay Kanakamedala who worked as co-director with Harish Shankar.
Allari Naresh in the film’s announcement poster is seen giving an intense look with blood and scars on his face.
It seems, he is playing an action-packed role in the film touted to be an action thriller.
Satish Vegesna will produce this yet to be titled film.
News Scan: Capital fight reaching climax!
The controversy over the shifting of administrative capital of Andhra Pradesh from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam is reaching climax.
The agitation of Amaravati farmers, spearheaded by the Telugu Desam Party and supported by other opposition parties, is getting intensified with every passing day to stall the capital shift.
After staging dharnas and conducting rallies, the protestors are now gearing up for Chalo Assembly rally, apart from knocking the doors of the high court.
On the other hand, the YSR Congress party government led by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is swiftly making preparations to move the capital to Visakhapatnam.
The high-power committee of the ministers submitted its report to Jagan on Friday afternoon and the state cabinet will approve the same on Monday, an hour before the commencement of the state assembly session to take a final call on the capital move.
Just like the moves and counter-moves of the Amaravati farmers and the Jagan government, the media houses, too, have been divided into pro-Amaravati and anti-Amaravati groups.
For the last one month, Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy have taken up cudgels on behalf of Amaravati and have been accusing the Jagan government of destroying the dreams of thousands of farmers by systematically running a negative campaign against Amaravati.
Similarly, Sakshi has been dishing out stories after stories to show Amaravati is unfit to be developed into the capital city and allege that it was nothing but a real estate venture floated by TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu during his regime.
On Saturday, too, Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy dedicated huge space to highlight the farmers’ agitation apart from running stories on the potential of Amaravati to emerge as the world class capital city.
Of course, both the dailies have also carried reports on the proposed cabinet meeting and the high court’s reprimand to the police for their excesses against the agitating Amaravati farmers.
Interestingly, these two dailies also carried stories on Jagan’s plans as their banner stories.
Eenadu’s story is on Jagan’s assurances to the farmers of Amaravati that no injustice would be done to them, while Andhra Jyothy’s story quoted Jagan categorically declaring that Visakhapatnam is going to be the real capital and that he would come to the rescue of real farmers of Amaravati. Sakshi also carried the same report as a second lead story.
Sakshi, which has been carrying a series of stories on the negative aspects of Amaravati as the capital all these days, has once again come up with a banner story indicating the actual reason for the Jagan government to take the decision on capital shift: alleged purchase of lands on a large scale by Naidu, his “benamis” and the TDP leaders in and around Amaravati between June and December of 2014 through insider trading.
In fact, there is nothing new in the allegations, as the ministerial committee headed by Buggana Rajendranath has already given a report on the same.
Now, Sakshi’s latest story is on the report of the CID investigation into the insider trading. It also indicated that the names of the beneficiaries of this insider trading would be exposed on Sunday.
The ongoing hearing on the CBI and ED chargesheets against Jagan in the Nampally court, which rejected his various petitions on Friday, has naturally hit the headlines in Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy. The story is expectedly missing in Sakshi.
Rashmika to be Grilled by IT Officials?
Rashmika Mandanna, the leading female star of Tollywood’s biggies such as ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’, is deeply disappointed that Income-Tax officials had wrongly targeted her.
According to media reports from Karnataka, the officials seized her house documents from her parents and a cash of Rs 25 lakhs during their IT raids yesterday.
Income Tax officials on Thursday had conducted a search-and-seizure operation at her residence in Virajpet, Kodagu district in Karnataka.
She said all her financial transactions are being done in Hyderabad and she would submit the IT returns accordingly.
IT officials found documents that prove that she either is filing less income or has assets that prove she is earning more. She may have to meet the officials personally now.
She is currently working in Nithin’s “Bheeshma” and Allu Arjun – Sukumar’s film.

Allu Arjun has been celebrating the success of ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramloo’ with his family members and dear friends.
