Nandamuri Fans Will Now Wait For Tarak’s Turn
Needless to say, Nandamuri heroes are not entertaining their fans the way they used to be. They are not even standing in the race to give the tough competition to other films at the box office. And back to back, two big heroes from the family have failed to click.
Back in December, we have Nandamuri Balakrishna coming up with “Ruler” movie. The film hasn’t excited any and Balayya’s multiple wigs are another disappointment we must say. Despite Sonal Chauhan flashing her bikini glamour and Vedhika showcasing her beautiful side, along with Balayya’s punch dialogues, the film failed to click.
And now, Kalyan Ram has come up with Entha Manchivadavura, a remake of Gujarati movie Oxygen. This film is also too slow and too sweet to bear, and director Satish Vegesna failed to create a family-entertainer yet again after he tumbled with Srinivasa Kalyanam post Satamanam Bhavati.
With two heroes giving back to back bouncers, now the onus lies on Jr NTR who is coming up with #RRR along with Rajamouli and Ram Charan very soon. One knows how that film is going to be, so he is the only hero who will be giving respite to Nandamuri fans in the coming days.
I Will Not Do Bad Films Again – Ravi Teja
Mass Maharaj, Ravi Teja, is all set for his next – Disco Raja which is releasing on Jan 24th. He has teamed up with critically acclaimed director VI Anand who made films like Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada. The very collaboration has raised several eye brows. In a Tete a Tete, Ravi Teja clarifies all our doubts and answers patiently. Below are the excerpts.
On Nela Ticket’s Failure
Frankly, I was supposed to do other story with producer Ram Talluri. But that didn’t happen. Instead of that, unfortunately, we had done Nela Ticket. Even while we were shooting for the film midway, I predicted its going wrong and I had informed producer that the movie isn’t working. We were aware of it, but we can’t help it as already we shot most of the film. One gets to know film’s fate during its making. I believe in this.
About Disco Raja
Disco Raja is very different film. I have never done such character before. I’m very excited about the film. Director VI Anand is very sensible maker and he has good clarity over his story. It was a great working with him. Especially, I’ve got equally opposite artiste Bobby Simha. That’s why Disco Raja become more interesting. People will enjoy the scenes between Bobby Simha and me. And no, it’s not a remake or copy of any other movie. You’ll get to see what the movie is on Jan 24th (release day).
On VI Anand’s Caliber
I know him since he was directing Tiger. I have been hearing about him through Chota K Naidu and others. One day, he had messaged me that he has story for me. I was shocked and asked me how does we both connect? Since I’m known for mass and he’s for class and both are totally poles apart. He has messaged me back about film’s brief and told me the title ‘Disco Raja’. The title and brief has got my attention. That’s how we met. And the film materialized. VI Anand is very good maker. Disco Raja has interesting elements. I enjoyed while he was narrating it and equally enjoyed while I was shooting and I’m confident that you too enjoy watching them on screen. Thaman’s music is good. Songs came out well. He has given a terrific background score as well. Heroines Nabha Natesh is a jovial character who values relationship most. We have good scenes. Payal Rajput is playing different character which you’ll see on screen. Tanya Hope plays a scientist. Each and every character in the movie has got good importance.

Why Friction With Media?
Actually, there is no friction with media. Usually, I’m not very talkative. So, I’m not very media-friendly. I’ll only interact with media during the release of my films. But here afterwards, I’ll try to interact more with media. Hopefully, we’ll catch up after film’s success.
Upcoming Films
Currently, I’m working with director Gopichand Malineni for Krack. It’s yet another interesting film. Couple of other films are in discussion stages. I’d not confirm them, until and unless I’m very confident about the script. In the past, I had done some films though I was not fully convinced. But here afterwards, I’ve taken a conscious decision on not to do so. I will not do bad films again.
With Rajamouli?
I’d love to work with Rajamouli garu again. But he is so busy and occupied. I wish we would team up again in near future.
Why Not Bollywood?
Seriously, a lot of people have asked me this. In fact, I have got good offers. But somehow, right director and right production house didn’t materialize. So, I had to let them go. If I get right launch pad, certainly, I’m open to do a full-fledged Hindi movie.
Multi-starrer?
I’ve done different films in my long career. I’ve acted with several stars in the past. I’m always open to do multi-starrers. If I get good script, certainly, I’m ready to do multi-starrer.

Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo taking theatres from all others
While every film released during the Sankranthi eve has done well, what really matters is who is going to stay strong after the holidays. Because that’s what decided if the distributors are going to get hefty profits or minor bruises. And it looks like Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is having a huge edge in this context.
Films like Sarileru Neekevvaru, Entha Manchivaadavuraa and Darbar are currently running in Telugu theatres in many places along with Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. But due to huge arrival of families to this Trivikram directorial, exhibitors and distributors are said to be requesting the makers to add more screens and increase the number of theatres.
Going by that demand, now Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is snatching theatres from others as 6 extra morning shows are added in towns like Eluru, 10 shows added in Kakinada and 8 shows in Rajahmundry whose tickets are being sold like hot cakes now. All the regular screens that are screening 5-7 shows of the film daily are running housefulls.
Well, going by the early trends, we could say that Allu Arjun is actually going to register his first ever 90-100 crores share movie.
Insta Glamour Getting Niharika Konidela Those Offers
Though late to the party, it looks like mega daughter Niharika Konidela has cracked the code to become a sizzling celebrity in the tinsel town. Rather following a conservative approach to stardom, these days she is oozing loads of glamour through her photoshoots. It looks like, all those pictures shared on her Instagram page are helping her big time.
Along with Nidhi Aggarwal and Hebah Patel, other day Niharika attended the special festival ‘lucky draw’ event of a noted electronics store in Hyderabad. Only popular starlets known for their glamorous thing will get such invites including ribbon cutting and showroom opening offers. Not to disappoint any, even Niharika also turned up in glamorous costumes for the event.
Dressed in a shoulderless strapped blouse and a simple saree, Niharika rendered the event spicier with her dazzling looks alongside Nidhi and Hebah, who are known for their ravishing assets. Pooja Hegde Avoids Talking About Namrata’s Offer
Heroine Pooja Hegde is running high again as her latest movie has once again worked in Tollywood though she scored a big flop in Bollywood with Housefull 4. And the dusky siren is on cloud nine for the super success of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo as that will bring her more big Telugu offers into her kitty.
During the post-release promotions of this Allu Arjun starrer directed by Trivikram, actually Pooja is seen giving various interviews. During one such interview, when media folks quizzed her about the offer she got from Namrata Shirodkar, the actress refused to talk about it. She asked media folks to stick to Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo for the now.
For the uninitiated, actually Namrata’s first ever production venture “Major” featuring Adivi Sesh in the lead, needs a heroine. Though the former Miss India approached Pooja Hegde for the role, the latter is said to have quoted a huge sum due to which Namrata started finding another option.
As Pooja got close to Mahesh and Namrata during Maharshi times, many felt that she will take up Major, but our remuneration oriented girl didn’t find the offer exciting. That’s the story.
Rajnikanth Does 50% Job, What About Balance?
In what could give a strong blow to the prospects of Superstar Rajnikanth’s movies in the immediate future, the matinee idol’s latest movie has yet again failed to reach expectations in Telugu states. Also the clash with biggies like Sarileru Neekevvaru and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo has proved expensive for the producers.
Apparently Telugu theatrical rights of Rajnikanth’s latest movie Darbar, directed by the talented AR Murugadoss are acquired for 14.5 crores. Despite the fact that the film will not be able to get so many theatres in Telugu states it went to release a day ahead of Mahesh’s movie. After Allu Arjun’s arrival, Darbar has lost many theatres and lost many audiences due to the bad talk around it.
With this being the Sankranthi holiday season, the film managed to get 7.5 crores share from Telugu box office touching the halfway mark. Now that the job is only 50% done, can Rajni sustain the rest of weeks to make sure that Telugu producers won’t post a loss? We have to see that in the long run now.
Anyway, Rajni’s market is not intact in Tollywood and with Telugu biggies around it is not a cakewalk for him to come out with flying colours. If anyone still have doubts, Darbar will clarify them.
Samantha Building A Permanent Residence In Goa?
Whenever time permits, both Naga Chaitanya and Samantha are flying to Goa these days. Even before marriage, they used to spend time together in Goa only by riding scooters and spending on the beach at the favourite five-star hotel. And then they got married at the same destination also. Guess what, other day the duo have flown to Goa again though they haven’t shared any pictures of it.
Reports are coming that Samantha is actually frequenting Goa these days for a reason. In the likes of a Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai, even Samantha is said to have purchased a piece of sea-facing land in Goa. Both Chay and Sam are right now supervising the construction of a villa there which they will be used as a weekend getaway whenever they find the time. Also after retirement, she might move there permanently as well.
We hear that on the road to Candolim from Reis Magos fort, actually, #ChaySam have found a place with lots of coconut trees and a scope to build a nice sea faced village which will not be hurt even during a cyclonic storm. We have to see if Samantha makes this news public.
#RRR In Action Mode From 20th Jan
One of the most awaited films of 2020 is none other than magnum opus #RRR that has none other than SS Rajamouli at the helm. And this film’s shooting is going on at a brisk pace such that the film will be meeting its release day deadline of July 30, 2020.
Reports are coming that the next schedule of #RRR will begin in Vikarabad forests from January 20th. Apparently director Rajamouli will be canning a stunning action episode on his two leading men, Ram Charan and Jr NTR. Wrapping their Sankranthi holidays, both the stars will join filming of this thrilling action sequence together.
Though there is no clarity over how many times Charan and Tarak will appear together in this movie, they say that this fight sequence that will be shot for 15 days times is going to be a major one. Already Rajamouli has shot many action sequences for the film that is set in Independence era backdrop, but only a couple of them have both the heroes participating in.
On the other hand, Rajamouli’s heroes are currently basking in Sankranthi celebrations, and eagerly waiting for the shooting date.
