Buzz: Trivikram Spends Beyond Bunny’s Market Range?
Director Trivikram is sure one of the most bankable directors in Telugu Cinema today. But he is also known for spending beyond the estimated budget for all of his films.He has spent over Rs. 40 crore to wrap up a medium budget film like A Aa.
According to industry insiders, the cost of production of Trivikram’s upcoming film has gone way beyond the estimates.The budget of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is more or less equal to that of Sarileru Neekevvaru despite Allu Arjun charging only half the amount that Mahesh Babu charges for a film.
Allu Arjun’s market is way below Mahesh Babu’s, but the expenditure of both the films is equal, according to sources.Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is not getting a release on par with Sarileru Neekevvaru for this Sankranthi. Which means the film has to generate blockbuster talk to maintain its hold beyond festive season.
The advance booking trends are very encouraging and the pre release buzz also is very positive and AVPL should become a success if the public verdict matches the current buzz.
AP govt permits additional shows for ‘Sarileru..’
The big ticket for this Sankranthi festival season is Superstar Mahesh Babu’s ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru.’
With massive expectations the film is releasing on January 11th. Being the festival season, the producers of the film have urged the AP government for extra shows.
After considering the request, the YSRCP government permitted additional shows from 1 AM to 10 AM. These extra shows are valid from the release day to January 17th.
This is a great news and the producers can really cash in opportunity.
‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ is going to be the biggest release in Mahesh Babu’s career.

Don’t contest on ‘Glass’: Pawan Kalyan To Cadre
Jana Sena Party and its chief Pawan Kalyan have taken a strange decision on the Telangana municipal elections. Under unusual circumstances, the party is not contesting the polls and also asked interested party leaders and supporters to contest as independents.
A press statement was released by Jana Sena which stated that there are some unspecific reasons for party which is why it is not contesting on ‘Glass’ symbol but the party chief has permitted interested people to contest as independent candidates.
This means apart from moral support, Telangana Jana Sena leaders will not get any sort of assistance from Jana Sena and Pawan Kalyan.
It is still unclear why Pawan Kalyan is not showing interest on Telangana politics. May be because of the capital row, Pawan wants to focus only on the affairs of Andhra.
Hurdles cleared for ‘Local’ & Panchayat polls in AP
The AP High Court on Wednesday has cleared all the hurdles for the local body and Panchayat elections in the state. Today, the state Election Commission’s secretary has filed its affidavit in the court and briefed the details of their plans to conduct polls.
The secretary informed the court that the poll panel will hold local body elections from January 17th to February 15th while the Panchayat polls from February 8th to March 3rd. Regarding the elections, EC would be holding a video conference with all district collectors and higher officials on January 10th and on the same, a meeting with Chief Secretary, DGP, secretaries of Finance and Panchayat ministries is scheduled. Three days later i.e, EC wants to meet all the political parties of the state and notify them about the elections.
After a detailed briefing of polls and schedules, the High Court expressed its satisfaction and asked the poll panel to go ahead.
Unlike in the mainstream elections, the ruling YSRCP will have to fight hard in this local polls as the capital row is going on. Capital region, Amaravati farmers and people are upset with YSRCP as the government is planning to shift the capital from here.
If YSRCP doesn’t live up to the expectations, political observers believe that this could be their downfall.
Trailer Talk: Scary ‘Psycho’
Hero Vishal’s ‘Detective’ was one of the finest edge of the seat thrillers. The man behind the film is Mysskin and this director is now coming up with ‘Psycho’ and we have the trailer.
At the first glance, we get an impress that this is seriously a ‘psycho’ sort of film. With no dialogues, the trailer showcases only the lead actors Udayanidhi Stalini, Aditi Rao Hydari and Nithya Menen. The visuals are gruesome with bloodshed and at one shot, we see a headless man adding more scariness.
Stalin is said to be playing the role of a blind guy while the roles of Aditi and Nithya are not revealed in the trailer. That’s Mysskin’s style and it is truly a captivating one.Music by Ilaiyaraaja is nothing except for a single tune that runs throughout the 97 seconds trailer.
Like ‘Detective’ we have to see if this film gets dubbed in Telugu. For sure, the trailer has raised bar on making thriller genre and kudos Mysskin!
Nepotism, Style, CAA and Bold Roles – Allu Arjun Answers All
Allu Arjun took his time to bring us the Ala Vaikuntapurram lo, he is not taking any gaps in promoting the film and that too at new places. Allu Arjun answered a few quick questions by a national media channel and both questions and answers are interesting.
Bringing in the words where Bunny praised Vijay Deverakonda for Arjun Reddy, the reporter asked if he would be accepting any such bold role soon, Bunny shook his head saying he thinks he would never do what Vijay did and he did not have the mindset to do what Vijay does.
When questioned about Nepostim and its existence, Bunny laughs of saying that are all the brand ambassadors of it, before putting the jokes apart and answering in his perspective. He gave examples like how we all including himself love and enjoy watching Ram Charan dance like his father Chiranjeevi, or Bruce Lee’s son throwing those punches like his dad or Son of Michael Jackson doing a ditto moonwalk, saying that it may be called nepotism but that is something we all really like to watch and admire the legends many more times.
Concluding the same, Allu Arjun said the usual answer that he just can’t deny that being a star kid can give him a platform to get a proper launch but evolve and survive to become a star in last 15 years cannot be called nepotism, saying he admires and likes the self-made stars at the same time.
When asked about how he would keep his stylish quotient up when actors like Vijay Deverakonda are coming up with own and style liked by many, Bunny always liked the style of Ranveer Singh and even that of Vijay Deverakonda and also many Bollywood stars whose style he accepts he could not pull off. Bunny also revealed that he has got a dress sent by Vijay Deverakonda, which he might be wearing on a special occasion soon.
CAA, the sensation and protests happening in the nation, is something about which Bunny refused to put his opinion out, as he was there to promote Ala Vaikuntapuram lo and he would like to speak on it on a proper platform and when the time is right.
Apart from these different questions mentioned above, Bunny said Ala Vaikuntapuram lo remains in a different genre from others releasing this Sankranti and he feels any film with proper content is that survives long when asked about the competition from Sarileru Neekevvaru, Chappaak and others. Talking about the very talented veterans, Bunny said he always learned from them in each film.
One can observe that there is a vast difference between what our local interviews ask and the questions asked by the national media channels. Our stars end up saying that they have enjoyed the shooting as picnic and the team was a family now with what our Telugu anchors ask, but Bunny’s answers about nepotism, CAA protest, being stylish and bold roles were so mature that we often want to hear them stars say it in Telugu interviews.
FL: Dirty Hari’s steamy Jasmine
Veteran filmmaker MS Raju is returning to the films with ‘Dirty Hari.’ It’s a bold new age film and very recently two posters of the lead actors of the film were revealed. The third poster of the film is unveiled and it has actress Simrat Kaur showing off in a steamy pose.
‘Dirty Hari’ marks the debut of Shravan Reddy as hero while ‘Chi La Sow’ fame Ruhani Sharma too is playing one of the female leads.
These days boldness is attracting the audience but not all bold films are working at the box office. But with MS Raju’s mark, the film is making some buzz and hope it lives up to the expectations.
Currently in shooting stages, ‘Dirty Hari’ is expected for next month release.

Anil Ravipudi knows the pulse of audience, so he is making only super hits. The films he did with stars like Kalyan Ram, Sai Dharam Tej, Ravi Teja, Venkatesh and Varun Tej were biggest hits for the respective heroes. Will Sarileru Neekevvaru also become biggest hit for Mahesh Babu?
Anil Ravipudi seems to be pretty confident of delivering another hit with the Mahesh Babu starrer. “Besides fun, the film also has elements like patriotism, emotions and values. It will be like a complete festival meal with all the ingredients. We didn’t cross the border for comedy scenes.”
Did Mahesh Babu propose any changes in the script?
“Mahesh Babu at once liked the script and developed belief in it. There’s magic in the script. He listened to the full script just 20 days before going to the shoot. He did not propose any changes to the script.
When a person with army backdrop comes to the social life, his behavior will be completely different. That’s what he liked. All the fights in the society appear very small for army men, as there will be war like situation in the border every day.”
Anil Ravipudi also made it clear that there’s no factionism in the film. “It’s actually a play between three characters- Prakash Raj, Vijayashanthi and Mahesh Babu. How Prakash Raj as a state minister and how Mahesh Babu as army major reacts to certain things forms crux of the story.
Anil Ravipudi informs that the film is not about hero killing enemy, but hero bringing change in the enemy.
Actually, Jagapathi Babu was the original choice. But, he walked out of the project. “Jagapathi Babu couldn’t adjust his call sheets. There’s no personal reason in replacing him.”
Anil Ravipudi who failed in his attempt to rope in Vijayashanthi for Raja The Great became successful this time with Sarileru Neekevvaru. “She liked the script, especially her character. You’ll know why she chose this as her comeback film after 13 years of gap after watching the film in theaters.”
Anil says veteran maker Jandhyala is his biggest inspiration. “Jandhyala’s films have healthy comedy. In fact, it was he who introduced mannerisms in films. I’m his Ekelavya Shishya.”
Sarileru Neekevvaru is all set for a grand release on January 11th. Let’s see whether Anil continues his success streak with this film!

With ‘KGF’ Kannada hero Yash garnered nation-wide popularity and there are massive expectations on the sequel. The other day when the first look of ‘KGF Chapter 2’ was launched, it took the social media by storm.
On Wednesday, hero Yash turned a year old and director Prashant Neel greeted his hero with a special poster. Yash is seen holding a hammer in his hand and looks stunningly macho in the poster. Yash’s attitude oozes out a mass appeal in it.
With the hashtag “Rocky Becomes A Brand,” director Prashant wrote, “All of you have a great and safe birthday celebrations with our Rocking Star Yash.”
Initially, the teaser of ‘KGF Chapter 2’ was supposed to be out on this day but director Prashant could not complete the teaser work on the deadline and so he apologized to the fans.
Rumour: Mahesh’s Heroine Shocks Namrata?
Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu heroine Kiara Advani is rumoured to have given shock to Mahesh’s wife Namrata who is heading his production. Gossip doing the rounds is that Namrata and team have approached Kiara to cast opposite Adivi Sesh in Mahesh Babu’s production venture Major, a film based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who saved several hostages from the deadly 26/11 attack.
Since the film is also planned for Hindi release, Namrata who has good rapport with Kiara approached her to be part of the film. However, it is heard Kiara said to have quoted around Rs 3 Crore as her remuneration. Since Kiara is in high demand in Bollywood with blockbuster success of Kabir Singh and several films in her kitty, she said to have quoted high. As the film is made in medium budget, Namrata has requested the actress to cut down her price.
What’s more shocking is that Kiara’s manager reportedly asked for more remuneration instead of cutting down her fee. Since the film will have release in multiple languages, Kiara’s manager asked the Major production team to hike her fee to Rs 5 Crore. This is the gossip doing the rounds in film circuits.
Shocked with this development, the production of Major has reportedly dropped Kiara’s name. Now, the team is hunting for another well-known face to star with Adivi Sesh.
