Hema was the first contestant who got eliminated from the third season of “Bigg Boss” that is being hosted by actor Nagarjuna.Hema never hid her liking for Nagarjuna. Tollywood Stylish Star Allu Arjun was last seen in Vakkantham Vamsi’s directorial, ‘Naa Peru Surya Naa Illu India’. It has been more than a year since the release of that patriotic drama.

It is known that Bunny took a lot of time before finalising his next project with director Trivikram Srinivas. The movie is currently on sets and is aiming for Sankranthi release next year. Meanwhile, Bunny has also a good lineup of projects. He has already okayed scripts with ‘MCA’ director Venu Sriram and Sukumar. The shooting of both the films will go on sets from October on November this year.

Jagan To Hold Mega Conference To Attract Investments

In a first major initiative by the new government of Andhra Pradesh to attract foreign investments to the state, CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to hold a major International Investment Summit in the state eyeing to create more employment opportunities to locals. This is a welcome move by Jagan following the passing of crucial bill of 75 percent reservation to locals in jobs in all formats of industries, private firms, companies that are coming up in the new state.

AP International Investment Summit is being held in association with the Ministry of External Affairs and it is going to be held on August 9 in Amaravati. It is learnt that representatives from more than 30 countries are expected to participate in the summit.

The international investment summit is going to be held in two phases. In the first phase, CM Jagan will meet the ambassadors and consulate generals from different countries. And in the second phase, he would hold individual meetings with the representatives of different countries and likely to discuss on the proposed investments. At the conference, CM Jagan is expected to explain how his government’s vision will benefit the industrial sector and likely to make some key policy decisions of the state in favour of investors.

Meanwhile, it can be noted that a day before the international meet, CM Jaganmohan Reddy will be unveiling the Kia Motors first car in India at the company’s manufacturing unit at Penukonda in Anantapur. South Korea-based Kia Motors had signed a memorandum of understanding with then TDP-led AP government in April 2017 for setting up the car manufacturing plant with an investment of USD 1.1 billion on a 536-acre site at Penukonda in Anantapur to produce three lakh cars a year. And it started its manufacturing from Jan 2019. A day before the international meet, CM Jagan will take part in this milestone event.

On the other hand, the representatives of Kia Motors have already met officials from the state government. In June, Kia Motor President and CEO Han-woo-Park wrote to new CM YS Jagan recalling his association with his father and former CM late YS Rajashekar Reddy.

Anna canteens to stay, but with colour change!

YSR Congress party government on Tuesday clarified that there was no proposal to close down Anna canteens opened by the previous Telugu Desam Party government to provide breakfast and lunch to the poor at subsidised rates.

There were reports earlier that the government was planning to shut down the ongoing Anna canteens due to severe financial crunch.

Moreover, there is no point in continuing any schemes that would remind the people of the TDP regime, chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy felt.

However, there were strong protests from people over the reported closure of the canteens. Already, in some places, there were reports of canteens being shut down and in others, the scheme was restricted to an average of 500 people per day.

When the TDP members raised the issue in assembly on Tuesday, it led to heated arguments between them and the treasury benches.

Minister for Urban Development Botsa Satyanarayana said that the government had no intention to close down the Anna canteens.

“There would only be change of colour of the canteens. In the past, the TDP government painted it yellow to depict their party colour. We will undo it,” he said/

Stating that only 183 canteens were being operated across the state at present, Botsa said alleged that the previous TDP government had opened Anna canteens indiscriminately just before the elections without any proper procedure and structure.

Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy said the TDP government had wasted a lot of money in the name of Anna canteens.

“While it cost only Rs 1.5 lakh per day for the Telangana government to run the subsidised lunch scheme, the TDP government spent Rs 20 lakh per day on Anna canteens,” he criticised.

CM Jagan Invited To Japan

Kojiro Uchiyama, the consul-general of Japan in Chennai, has met AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday. Jagan has widely discussed with Uchiyama on setting up industries in Andhra Pradesh and creating employment opportunities to the local youth. At the same time, bi-lateral issues are also said to have been discussed in the high-profile meeting.

Impressed with CM Jagan’s thoughts and plans, Kokiro Uchiyama, has invited Jagan Mohan Reddy to Japan and offered him to meet the top executives of several Japanese companies who are interested in setting up their units in India. The official twitter handle of Andhra Pradesh CM has corroborated the news. Jagan’s Japan visit may be planned once he returns from his Bethlehem visit and US visit.

Meanwhile, Azim Premji’s representatives had recently met AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy and offered to invest around Rs 100 Crore on investment-free agriculture in AP in the coming five years.

First Step Towards Madyapana Nishedam

In Tamil Nadu, state government owned company controls the wholesale and retail vending of alcoholic beverages. AP CM YS Jagan wants to implement the same policy here, so that his election promise of completely banning alcohol can be executed phase wise.

On Monday Jagan held a review meeting with Excise officials and asked to shut down 876 wine shops with immediate effect and from its new policy which is likely to come into effective from October 1st, the AP government wants to close down another 20 percent of private wines. However, instead of private dealers, the governments wants to run their own wine shops. Through these about 15000 people are expected to get employment.

As of now the YSRCP government is following the old excise policy which expired in June. The government has extended this policy till September end and in this meantime, directed the excise officials to come up with new policy. The officials are busy drafting as per the instructions of CM Jagan. We hear that the new policy will register the sales online and if there is any different between the stock and sales, the government would serious action on the concerned officials.

Nimmagadda Prasad Arrested in Siberia?

Noted industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad is heard to have got detained by the local police in Siberia. Based on a complaint by Ras Al Khaima in connection with the fraud in the VANPIC Project, Nimmagadda was arrested by the Siberian police.

Nimmagadda along with Ras Al Khaima took up Vodarevu-Nizampatnam port and Industrial Corridor (VANPIC) project during YSR regime. As part of this quid pro quo deal, Nimmagadda allegedly invested Rs 850 crore in Jagan’s companies. Later, this project was called off resulting in huge losses for Ras Al Khaima. Then the UAE company lodged a complaint against Nimmagadda in Interpol.

Getting to know about this, the YSR Congress MPs have met Union External Affairs Minister Jaishankar and are lobbying for immediate release of Nimmagadda. The MPs have requested the minister to safely bring back Nimmagadda to the country.
