In a rarity, our film industry is winning the unique distinction of dad and son romancing the same girl on the silver screen. While Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Nagarjuna have done it with Sridevi, we have Nag doing the same with Naga Chaitanya’s heroines too.
Already there are heroines like Rakul Preet Singh (Rarandoi Veduka Chooddam with Chay and Manmadhudu 2 with Nag) and Lavanya Tripathi (Soggade Chinni Nayana with Nag and Yuddham Saranam with Chay) who have acted with both the Akkineni stars. And now, it looks like this dusky heroine is to join this list.
She is none other than Pooja Hegde, who has earlier got paired with Naga Chaitanya in Oka Laila Kosam, before she turned into a glamorous damsel. And now, Nagarjuna is said to be thinking about bringing Pooja aboard for his Bangarraju, where Naga Chaitanya is likely to romance Keerthi Suresh.
That’s interesting to see even young heroes agreeing to romance 32-year-old Chay and his 59-year-old father Nagarjuna as well.
The shooting of Rajamouli’s #RRR is very much going on in Hyderabad and the creative director that India is waiting for is said to be delivering only the best. After wrapping the current work in hand, the team is now preparing to shoot a song on the film’s leads, Ram Charan and Jr NTR.
Reports are coming that Rajamouli is going for a huge set that will be erected at Ramoji Film City to shoot the introduction song of the movie’s principal characters. The song will be explaining what the characters of NTR and Charan are all about, and how they are going to take part in the freedom struggle. It’s heard that the whole song will be costing more than 3 crores for the production of this song.
However, one wonders if Rajamouli will also finalise the heroine for NTR or not by the time this song gets made. Also, we might wonder if the director will showcase his heroes dancing to some floor moves or not, as this happens to be a patriotic film that needs such crazy dance steps.
Promoter of popular Telugu television channel NTV Narendra Chowdary might join Bharatiya Janata party sooner or later, in order to prevent forcible acquisition of channel by industrialists close to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
Sources said Chowdary, who is presently in the United States of America to take part in the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) conferences, held preliminary rounds of talks with BJP general secretary Ram Madhav who attended the conference as a guest.
Sources said NTV has quite a few small time investors in the channel. Apparently, the TRS leadership is trying to acquire all those shares one after the other through industrialists close to it, so that they would ultimately take over the channel.
In order to pre-empt these attempts, NTV Chowdary is trying to bring pressure through the BJP on these investors to sell their stakes to BJP leaders.
Apparently, a national channel network owned by BJP MP will acquire these shares, while Chowdary will continue to retain his stake.
Once Chowdary gets the BJP backing, he can take on the TRS strongly. For that, the BJP leadership is understood to have offered a good position to Chowdary.
Though there were reports that Chowdary might sell his entire stake to the BJP MP, sources said there was no truth in the reports.
While he continues to have the majority stake, he will take the pro-BJP stand that would benefit him in the long run, sources said.
If Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy feels that ‘friendship’ with Telangana Chief Minister KCR is important for him and he does not want any confrontation with KCR, Andhra Pradesh will lose nearly Rs 1.20 lakh crore.
This is the summary of the second day meeting between TS and AP officials at Pragathi Bhavan on Saturday, which was held as a follow-up to the meeting between KCR and Jagan at Pragathi Bhavan on Friday.
The meeting was held to discuss on sharing of assets and liabilities of common institutions listed under Schedule IX and X of the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.
The chief secretaries of AP and TS besides senior officials from various departments from both the states participated in the meeting.
In the meeting, the Telangana officials made it clear that the assets of common institutions should completely belong to a state in which the particular institution is located.
This would mean that all the institutions automatically belong to Telangana as they were set up in Hyderabad because it was the capital of Undivided AP.
All these institutions together own assets worth Rs 2 lakh crore in the form of valuable lands and buildings in Hyderabad.
Jagan simply handed over AP Secretariat, Assembly, HoD buildings in Hyderabad to Telangana to maintain ‘cordial relations’ with KCR and Telangana government within a week of becoming CM of AP.
If Jagan adopts same policy, then he has to leave all the institutions in Hyderabad to Telangana.
Normally, all the assets are being shared in the ratio of 52:48 between AP and TS in proportionate to their population. AP is entitled for 52 per cent share while TS 42 per cent share.
However, KCR has been rejecting this saying that they will only share the funds deposited in various banks of these institutions with AP but will not share lands, buildings and other assets as they belonged to Telangana as per geographical location.
If Jagan does not want confrontation with KCR, he has to agree for KCR’s proposal.
This will result in AP losing assets worth Rs 1.20 lakh crore in Telangana.
It remains to be seen whether Jagan prefers friendship with KCR over the interests of AP or fight with KCR to claim rightful share for AP in the assets held by common institutions in Hyderabad.
When Vijay Niramala passed away, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy came down all the way from Vijayawada to pay his last respects and consoled the grieving Superstar Krishna and his family members.
Mahesh Babu was conspicuous by his absence during YS Jagan’s visit. He didn’t come to meet the Andhra CM.
Where as Mahesh Babu dutifully was present to receive former Nara Chandrababu Naidu, former Chief Minister when Naidu consoled Krishna at his residence.
He was careful to be present at his father’s house when Naidu was visiting.
This has not gone well with YS Jagan’s fans. They are criticizing Mahesh Babu’s attitude. YSRC party men and fans say Mahesh Babu is another thankless celebrity and Jagan should not spare these guys who benefitted heavily during YSR’s regime.
Late YS Rajasekhar Reddy had done lot of favors to Superstar Krishna and even bailed him out in a row pertaining to Padmalaya Studios’ lands.
When Mahesh Babu slapped a video parlour owner in Warangal after the release of “Sainikudu”, it was YSR who made sure that Mahesh didn’t face further charges.
Mahesh Babu too used to be good friend of YS Jagan back then. However, entire family members of Krishna have turned back on YSRC party later.
Even Krishna’s brother Adiseshagiri Rao left YSRC party and joined TDP just before the assembly polls.
Hence, YS Jagan’s fans are now asking the CM through social media to avoid Mahesh Babu totally and teach him a lesson when the time comes.
The shoot of “Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy”, a film based on the life of great freedom warrior Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, has been completed and the movie is gearing up for release on 2nd October.
The pre-release business is also being done on record scale.
While producer Ram Charan is trying to mint profits from this mammoth project, the descendants of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy who are residing in Uyyalawada village in Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh are waging a fight against Ram Charan.
They staged a protest at Ram Charan’s office in Hyderabad when he didn’t compensate them for the loss of their crop when the movie was shot in their farm lands.
Charan also has not paid the amount for parting rights to film the story of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy as agreed earlier.
After waiting for months, the family members have now decided to take legal course to get money from Ram Charan.
Producer Charan should compromise with the family or he would face problems during the release of the movie.
1) Kalki: Rajasekhar’s latest outing Kalki was expected to be another impressive film like Garuda Vega. But director Prashanth Varma messed it up by trying to present an intriguing concept in a commercial way.
Kalki’s first weekend numbers are paltry compared to the amounts it was sold for. It is heading for a flop unless there is a miraculous turnaround.
2) Brochevarevarura: This crime comedy has opened on a low note but picked up because of the positive word of mouth and reviews.
The makers should have promoted it well so that it would have registered better numbers in its first weekend.
3) Kabir Singh: There’s no stopping Kabir Singh juggernaut at the box office. The film has registered best second weekend numbers for a Bollywood film this year so far.
It is set to become the highest grossing film of the year by beating Uri: The Surgical Strike.
4) Article 15: Ayushman Khurana continues to pick right scripts and improve his credibility both as an actor and crowd puller with each film.
Article 15 has seen a considerable rise in collections on Saturday and Sunday.
5) Agent Sai Srinivasa Atreya: This small film turned out to be a surprise winner at box office proving content is the king.
It has surpassed $250K mark in US, which is a phenomenal feat for a film of this scale.
