Shah Rukh is ‘real hero’ for Salman

Share

Mumbai: Superstar Salman Khan is all praises for his friend Shah Rukh Khan as the latter reportedly rescued Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s manager Archana Sadanand from a fire incident during the Bachchan Diwali bash.

Salman on Wednesday took to Instagram and complimented SRK for his heroic act. He even posted a short clip from SRK’s film “Happy New Year” in which Shah Rukh’s shirt goes up in flames in dream sequence of Deepika Padukone’s.

Adding a voice over to the video, Salman said: “Hero woh hota hai jo aag mein kood ke, bujha ke, bachaata hai.”

This gesture has left the Salman-SRK’s swooning.

According to a report in Mid-Day, Archana’s dress caught fire from a diya. Shah Rukh, who was present saved Archana and even used his coat to douse the flames.

Archana was admitted to the Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai and is being kept in isolation in the ICU to prevent infection. She has suffered 15 per cent burns on her right leg and hands. Even SRK too sustained some minor burns.

Khaidi Now Gets Upperhand Over Whistle

Share

Vijay’s dubbed movie “Whistle” had raked in huge money in the first three days in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, while Karthi starrer “Khaidi” had a slow start.

Proving that content is the king, Karthi’s riveting thriller is now drawing more collection than Vijay’s movie.

In the past two days, it is Karthi’s movie is having an upper hand at the box-office.

“Khaidi” will continue its upward trend as there is not much competition this weekend except Vijay Deverakonda’s maiden production “Meeku Maathrame Cheptha”.

The film had collected Rs 50 lakhs share yesterday while ‘Whistle’ got 35 lakhs. This shows how the trend is going to be.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraju, “Khaidi” gained the momentum purely on the strength of movie reviews and word-of-mouth.

Vamsi to have conditional entry into YSRC!

Share

It is more or less certain that Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan, who resigned from the primary membership of Telugu Desam Party and also his assembly membership, is going to join the YSR Congress party.

Though TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrabau Naidu had deputed senior TDP leaders – Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani and former MP Konakalla Narayana Rao to convince Vamsi to stay back in the party, the latter explained all his difficulties inside and outside the party.

He clearly told them that he had already taken a decision to quit the TDP and he would stand by the decision. Many of his followers also resigned from the party.

But the entry of Vamsi into the YSRC and gain a position in the party is not so easy. First of all, his arch rival in Gannavaram Yarlagadda Venkat Rao is strongly resisting Vamsi’s entry into the YSRC.

However, YSRC president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy told Venkat Rao that Vamsi would not come in his way.

Jagan assured to take care of Vamsi’s interests, though he might not give him the party ticket to contest again from Gannavaram in the by-elections.

At the same time, the YSRC chief put a strange condition to Vamsi if he wanted a good position in the party and also a possible MLC seat.

“After your resignation, the party ticket will be given to Venkat Rao in the coming by-election to Gannavaram seat. And you should work for the victory of Venkat Rao. If under any circumstances, you stay away from the campaign or Venkat Rao loses the elections, you will not get any post or position in the party,” Jagan told Vamsi.

Now, Vamsi is said to be in a dilemma because Venkat Rao is his arch rival. If Venkat Rao loses the elections in any situation, it will be big trouble for Vamsi. He will be neither here nor there.

Interestingly, similar condition was imposed for senior TDP leader and Visakhapatnam North MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao who is also sending feelers to Jagan for joining the YSRC.

The chief minister reportedly told him that if he wanted a post in the YSRC, he should ensure the victory of YSRC candidate in the by-elections in Visakhapatnam (north), sources said.

Naidu drained all resources before he stepped down

Share

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu did everything to drain the exchequer during the last five years and he did it with an intention before the general election.

He withdrew funds from every department just before the elections to fund the schemes like Pasupu Kumkuma for women and Annadata Sukheebhava for farmers.

He also pooled up funds to run the Anna Canteens opened just before the elections to woo the voters.

He borrowed huge amounts from various financial institutions. Hudco is one such institution where Naidu had borrowed Rs 189.38 crore.

He borrowed Rs 134.32 crore in the name of AP Township Infrastructure Development Corporation and Rs 40.34 crore for Nellore Municipal Corporation. Not a single paise was spent for Nellore Municipal Corporation.

With excess external borrowing, Naidu government left no source for the successive government to pay the interest, leave alone repayment or new borrowings.

The Hudco had written a letter to the State government to repay the Rs 189 crore.

Naidu, who claims of 40 years in politics and an able administration did not realise that excess borrowing will leave no scope for the successive government to run the show.

GO. No. 938: Terror To Media People

Share

As per CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s directions, the cabinet has passed GO. No. 938 on Wednesday. The Government Order gives powers to the secretaries of respective departments to act and take action against media. This is applicable to print media, TV media, web media and even posts by individuals on social media. AP government claims the move is to stop “false” and “malafide” news and content against the government.

The GO. No. 938 empowers secretaries of the concerned department to initiate legal action against the publishers and Editors if “false news” was telecast or published. The state cabinet opines that such news could “hamper the progress of the state.” With the GO, the government could initiate legal action and move defamation suit against the media.

Such GO is not new. Earlier, former CM late YS Rajasekhar Reddy had brought similar GO in undivided state of Andhra Pradesh to curb media’s freedom. On February 20, 2007 , then CM and the Chairman of the Media Watch YS Rajasekhara Reddy had first issued GO. No.938. However, it had invited a huge wrath from media fraternity. Following protests, Rajasekhara Reddy had withdrawn the GO.

Now, YSR’s son YS Jagan has brought the same GO. It needs to be seen how media would react and face the Jagan administration given that ‘Freedom Of Speech’ is at stake.

US military releases first footage and photos of Baghdadi raid

Share

The head of US General Command, General Frank McKenzie, who supervised and participated in the activity of the US raid of the Islamic State of Iraq and the ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has provided the detailed account of the operation and said the US was on alert for possible “retribution attacks”. The General said the remains of Aby Bakr al-Baghdadi was buried at sea in an underground tunnel(where he led special operations) within 24 hours of his demise.

“US forces discovered Baghdadi hiding in a tunnel when capture at the hands of US forces was imminent,” McKenzie said. Not to mention, Baghdadi was identified by comparing his DNA to 2004’s sample collected when he was captured by US forces in Iraq. Following that, the US released the first photos and videos from Saturday’s raid.

The photos show black and white images of US soldiers approaching the high-walled Idlib compound in NW Syria, a place where Baghdadi was tunnelled up. The General referred to it as a parking lot with large potholes. Before and after pictures of the isolated compound were also released. Also, the released videos showed airstrikes on a bunch of anonymous fighters and even they have fired the helicopters of US forces.

McKenzie further said that Baghdadi detonated a bomb which he wore to kill himself and two young children that were with him, who were under the age of 12. Al Jazeera’s Alan Fisher in Washington, DC said the US had released “very short snippets” of video. “We see the troops moving towards the edge of the compound. We don’t see them going inside. What we are told is that the army then issued orders in Arabic for people to give themselves up, and a number of what they described as non-combatants left the building.”

Post the mission, the defence team headed to a veiled location in Syria for nearly one-hour in a helicopter ride to the compound, and 11 children were escorted from the site unharmed, while four women and two men who were wearing suicide vests and refused to surrender were killed.

In conclusion, the General said that we should never think that ISIS has been defeated as the organization will come up with the new leader sooner or later. Moreover, he also said that US security agencies reminded that Baghdadi’s death has inspired his followers to launch another big attack and we should be prepared for it.

Viral Pic: KTR Capturing Balayya’s Picture

Share

Here is a very rare picture that has been going viral since yesterday and it is worth it. It has the dynamic TRS leader KTR trying to capture TDP leader-film actor Balakrishna, when they both shared the stage in 2009.

The leaders from arch rival political parties now, were allies in 2009 as Mahakutami and this picture was when Balayya campaigned for KTR in siricilla while the latter was contesting elections for the first time. KTR won the election then.

Things were different back then and it would be a cynosure for fans of these both stars, to see them back on same stage together.

Share

In a heart-breaking news, four members of a family have succumbed to dengue. This horrendous and spine-chilling incident was reported in Mancherial district of Telangana state. And all this happened in just 15 days. Now the grief-stricken bereaved family is in utter shock.

Going into details, 30-year-old youth Gudimalla Rajagattu belonged to Sri Sri Nagar of Mancherial. Rajagattu used to work as a private teacher in a local private school. First he got dengue and was treated at a local hospital in Mancherial. When his condition turned serious, his family members had moved him to Karimnagar. He was died on October 16, 2019 while treating in a hospital in Karimnagar. Later, Rajagattu’s grandfather Lingaiah (70) died on October 20, 2019 due to dengue during the five-day rituals of Rajagattu who had died on 16th October.

Rajagattu’s 6-year-old daughter Sri Varshini was diagnosed with dengue four days ago. However, she breathed her last on Diwali day i.e October 27. Rajagattu’s wife and Sri Varshini’s mother Soni was pregnant. She was carrying child when her husband, doting daughter were died of Dengue. And Soni too had diagnosed with Dengue and she was being treated at Secunderabad’s Yashoda hospital.. Soni had delivered a baby boy on Tuesday (October 29, 2019). As dengue was critical, Soni succumbed to dengue on Wednesday (Oct 30, 2019). Within a gap of 15 days, four members of a family were died of dengue.

Even as the High Court and media is making hue and cry over dengue fevers and lack of preventive measures by Telangana state government and not controlling the disease and not providing necessary medical facilities to patients, this shocking and gruesome incident of dengue claiming four lives of a family stresses how badly it is affecting the people. It is high time, bureaucrats and ministers should take cognizance of dengue issues and ensure that such thing won’t be repeated.

The Dilemma Surrounding Venky Mama Continues!

Share

There have been numerous reports regarding Venky Mama release date in all sections of media. However, producer Suresh Babu is yet to fix the release date for this multi-starrer featuring Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya as the leads.

Although there has been a lot of speculation about Venky Mama releasing for Sankranthi, the fact is Suresh Babu isn’t so keen on going for a multi-way clash.

Venky Mama release has been getting delayed due to the visual effects work. If the work gets completed in next couple of weeks, then Venky Mama will be scheduled for release on December 5. If not it will be pushed to Sankranthi.

As of now, the team is doing their best to ensure December release so that there wouldn’t be any competition.

Venky Mama sure does look like a festival film, but Mahesh’s Sarileru Neekevvaru and Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikuntapuramulo are riding on high expectations and they are capable enough to crush the competition if they generate positive word of mouth.

I-T holds searches at actress Raasi’s home

Suspecting tax evasion, Income-tax authorities conducted countrywide searches on Hyderabad-based Kolors Health Care India Private Limited.

So far, searches have been conducted at 40 locations, including in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. It is learnt that incriminating documents and receipts have been seized, and they are currently under scrutiny.

The company, which is into beauty, fitness, and weight loss among other things, is owned by Vijay Krishna Devula and his partner G. Nagachandra Venkata Rayudu. Vijay Krishna is said to be a relative of Tollywood actress Raasi and searches were reportedly conducted at her house as well.

Sources said Raasi is related to Devula and has been endorsing products and advertising for the company.

“The company has suppressed the number of payments received at the point of sale in the branches,” an official said.

“We have seized machines and computers and other documents to analyse the scale of evasion.”

The company claims to have 10 lakh customers, 49 branches and 1,500 dieticians and therapists on its website.

Consumer courts in Vijayawada and Vishakapatnam had earlier given judgements against Kolors after receiving complaints.

Vijayawada consumer forum had in February 2019 ordered the ‘misleading advertisements’ of Raasi and other actress, Rambha, be stopped after receiving complaints from consumers.

BJP Turns Down Pawan’s Invitation

Share

In a swift move, the BJP had declined to be part of the long march that Jana Sena is planning in Visakhapatnam on November 3 against the state government’s failure on sand supply.

On Wednesday, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan telephoned to BJP state unit president Kanna Lakshminarayana and invited him to join the long march.

However, BJP state vice-president S Vishnuvardhan Reddy, replied to Jana Sena turning down the offer.

Vishnuvardhan Reddy said that the BJP had been fighting on the issue from the beginning and there was no need for the party to support Jana Sena’s agitation on the issue.

Moreover, the BJP is planning for a big protest in Vijayawada on November 4 and made an appeal to the rank and file of the party to join the protest.

“There is no need for BJP or its president Kanna Lakshminarayana to support Pawan Kalyan’s agitation. We have our own protest programmes and we have our own line,” Vishnuvardhan Reddy said in a statement.

“It was the BJP which wrote an open letter to the chief minister on the issue. It was the BJP that met the Governor and submitted a representation on the issue and begged on the streets of Guntur in support of the building workers,” Vishnuvardhan Reddy said.

“We support the cause and we have our own concern. But, there is no need for us to play a second fiddle to any party,” the BJP leader said.

While the BJP had rejected the Jana Sena invitation, it is to be seen what other parties, including the TDP, do!

Krish Waiting for Clarity on Shooting Date

Share

It is no longer a secret that director Krish has got the final nod for his script from Pawan Kalyan. Many contradictory reports were going on in media about Pawan Kalyan’s comeback movie.

The reality is that Pawan Kalyan will commence his new innings under the direction of Krish as he believes that only this film would give him required gravitas.

The film will be produced by AM Ratnam who has been waiting to launch a movie with Pawan Kalyan for a long time.

The untitled film will be launched shortly but no muhurtham has been fixed yet. Krish is hoping to do pooja next month. However, Pawan Kalyan has not confirmed dates for the launch ceremony.

Sources have informed GreatAndhra.com that Krish has now begun finalizing the casting process and pre-production work.

As soon as Pawan Kalyan confirms the dates for this movie’s launch, more details would spill out.

In all probability, the film’s regular shoot will start only after January 2020 even if the ‘pooja’ ceremony is held before in November.
