Adani To Go Ahead With Vizag Data Centre!

Share

Ever since YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power in Andhra Pradesh, his detractors have been spreading fake news extensively in the social media that there is a flight of capital from Andhra.

After coming to power, Jagan took a few serious decisions like review of all ongoing projects approved by the previous Telugu Desam Party government headed by N Chandrababu Naidu that smacked of massive corruption, stalling of works on Polavaram and Amaravati, review of power purchase agreements with solar and wind power companies that were causing huge loss to the state exchequer and introduction of 75 per cent reservation for locals in private sector.

Though there were not many complaints from industrial sector over Jagan’s decisions, his political rivals have started a campaign against him stating that industries are scared of coming to AP and investors are hesitating in putting their money in various projects; and that those who had signed agreements in the past are also withdrawing their plans.

Take for instance, the proposed plan of Gujarat-based Adani group to invest Rs 70,000 cr in a span of 20 years to set up the biggest solar-powered data centre of 5 GW capacity in Visakhapatnam.

The project was signed in January 2019 between Adani group and then Andhra Pradesh government headed by N Chandrababu Naidu.

This was projected to be AP’s single-largest investment aimed at giving a boost to India’s technology infrastructure and the concept of green data centres.

However, nothing much was heard about the project later because of elections and the formation of the new government.

Though there was no official statement from Adani group, the anti-Jagan forces started a campaign that Adani had changed his mind and is planning to shift the data centre to Hyderabad, as there was no word of encouragement from the Jagan government.

Enquiries revealed that there are just rumours being spread by vested interests working against the Jagan government.

Sources said the Adani group will go ahead with its biggest data centre project in Visakhapatnam, while setting up a smaller project in Hyderabad of 100-200 MW capacity.

“In fact, they are planning another one at Chennai as well, apart from Hyderabad. But the Vizag project, which is the biggest in Asia, will continue. It will propel several internet bandwidth-related start-ups in the region. The government has recently handed over the land to Adanis for the project,” the source said.

Decks Cleared For Polavaram Project!

Share

At last, decks have been cleared for the commencement of works on Polavaram irrigation and hydel power projects, with Andhra Pradesh high court vacating the stay on the project works.

The court also dismissed the petition filed by the earlier contractor Navayuga Engineering Company Limited (NECL) stating that there is no merit in the petition.

It agreed with the contention of advocate general Sriram Subrahmanyam that the company had already gone in for arbitration and so, the writ petition in the high court had no value once the arbitration process has commenced.

The high court also set aside the injunction granted by the lower court preventing the state government from encashing the bank guarantees given by Navayuga for not commencing the project on time. It found fault with the hasty judgement of the lower court.

However, the high court directed the lower court to hear the arguments of both the parties and review its judgement.

The high court judgement clears the way for the YSRC government to start the works of Polavaram project, the contract for which was granted to Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) through reverse tendering process.

The works are expected to commence anytime in the first week of November, sources said.

RC’s Blockbuster Rangasthalam In Lawrence’s Hands!

Share

Rangasthalam is not only one of the biggest hits in Telugu Cinema history but also one of the modern day classics.

A rural period romance laced with all the commercial elements, Rangasthalam had set the cash registers ringing and went on to set new Non-Baahubali records at the box office. Now this film is going to be remade in Tamil.

Mythri Movie Makers have sold the remake rights of Rangasthalam for Rs. 1.5 Crore and guess what, Lawrence has bagged the Tamil remake rights.

Is he going to play the lead role in Tamil version? Looks like it is Lawrence’s idea behind bagging the rights. Lingusaamy is the frontrunner to direct Rangasthalam in Tamil.

This is a surprising combination given the track record of Lawrence and Lingusaamy. Both are known for mass masala stuff targeted at frontbenchers.

Can they do justice to it and make the remake as memorable as the original?

Pawan Kalyan Will Take A Decision In The New Year

Share

A section of media is going berserk with the reports of Pawan Kalyan’s re-entry into film industry.

They have been cooking stories on a daily basis and also going to the extent of fixing the muhurath dates for Pawan’s undecided projects.

Mythri Movie Makers who had given advance to Pawan Kalyan many years ago should be honored first, if Powerstar is planning to make a comeback.

After seeing media reports, Mythri Movie Makers Naveen has reportedly met Pawan Kalyan along with director Harish Shankar to know if there is any truth to the media claims.

Pawan has brushed off all the rumors and said that he has no clue about who is leaking such reports to the media.

Pawan is definitely considering to do a couple of films in his free time, but he will take the decision in the New Year.

Meanwhile, leaks from Krish’s camp are increasing day by day as the director is desperate to make it work.

But there is no chance for Krish’s period film to hit the floors anytime soon. Pawan can only spare a few days for any movie at this juncture.

Therefore, there is a chance for him to consider Pink remake that requires very less time compared to other proposed projects.

CM Jagan Shocks Singapore, Cancels Deal

Share

Singapore Government, which has been waiting for AP CM YS Jagan’s decision on Amaravati Start-Up Area Project, has finally got a rude shock with Jagan administration decided to cancel the pact with the Singapore Consortium. AP CM Jagan Reddy has decided to terminate the pact and AP state cabinet on Wednesday decided in favour of CM Jagan’s decision. Information and Public Relations Minister Perni Venkata Ramaiah alias Nani announced the development. With this, the decision has become official.

Previous government headed by then CM Chandrababu Naidu had entered into a pact with Singapore Consortium on Amaravati Start-Up Area Development Project. Amaravati Start-Up Area Development Project was aimed at developing start-up area to provide necessary infrastructure in a 6.84 sq km area (1,691 acres) in three phases over 15 years. And the project was undertaken under the Public-Private Partnership mode by previous AP state government which was first. Then government had chosen the Singapore consortium of Ascendas-Singbridge and Sembcorp Development through the controversial Swiss Challenge method as the Master Developer of the project.

Previously TDP government had entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Singapore Consortium on May 15, 2017, for executing the project. According to the MoU, Amarvati Development Corporation (ADC) and Singapore Amaravati Investment Holdings Limited, which together constitute the Amaravati Development Partners (ADP), signed the Concession Agreement and development Agreement (CADA) and the Shareholders Agreement. The Singapore Consortium will have 52 percent and ADC will have 48 percent stake in ADP, which will take up development projects in 656 acres in the first phase in the five years. However, the project did not take off. A part of the allotted land for the start-up purpose was stuck in an ecological-legal tangle as 170 out of 1,691 acres were right on the river bed.

Now that Amaravati’s future hangs in balance in Jagan administration and an Experts Committee has been formed to decide the future course of action on AP Capital, the deal with Singapore Consortium is cancelled.

Lady IAS Amrapali Behind Babu’s Horror Flick

Share

Warangal district collector, dynamic lady IAS officer Amrapali Kata is known for her ways of governance and also the way she turns up as a millennial when it comes to her looks rather conservative bureaucrats. Can you imagine, this dynamic lady is behind Ravibabu’s Aaviri movie?

Apparently Vizag girl Amrapali used to stay in vintage semi-palace like residence in Warangal in the status of a collector. While talking about her own bungalow, she commented that there is a rumour that ghosts live in the first floor of the house that was built by a Nizam era foreign officer. And this became news last year as every media house aired a story citing ‘Amrapali intlo deyyam’.

Basing on the same news article, director Ravi Babu is said to have created a story and that’s how ‘Aaviri’ happened. Whether the director is invoking collector Amrapali’s name for the sake of publicity, or he did really wrote a story basing on a bureaucrat revealing about the ghost is not known, but this caught the ears of cinema lovers.

Set for November 1st release, Aaviri is being released by Dil Raju unlike Suresh Babu who always backs Ravibabu’s films.

Horror And Adult Content Threatening Devarakonda

Share

After taking a long break post Sye Raa, tomorrow some films are trying to prove their mettle at the box office. Of them, we have Ravibabu’s Aaviri and Vijay Devarakonda’s maiden production venture Meeku Maatrama Cheptha creating some noise in the film industry. What is the talk outside though?

In B & C centres like Eluru and other happening Coastal towns, we hear that a different trend actually picked up for tomorrow (November 1st). In those centres, posters of films like Aaviri, Edu Chepala Katha, Srimathi 21 F and a couple of other adult content oriented films are literally pasted all over the place. These types of films don’t need publicity, but only posters are enough to grab audiences to theatres.

Surely these films will get more openings than Devarakonda’s film in some areas, and the key to outshine all the competitors in the race is to get good reviews and positive word of mouth. If MMC scores a point in those areas, then the film will show an advantage over the horror and adult content in B & C centres. Else, the film will face a threat from adult and horror content, while it will have its advantage in multiplexes.

Wow! Pooja Hegde Goes To Saudi Arabia

Share

Recently, conservating Islamic country Saudi Arabia has open doors to foreign tourists and also remained ban on foreign women needing to wear a burkha everwhere. Also, unmarried boys and girls from other countries are now allowed to stay in hotels too. That way, the Kingdom is looking beyond religious tourism, we must say.

While they have invited YouTube vloggers from other countries, regarding India, the Saudi officials are said to have thought that bringing heroines to the country is the best thing to do. Already many heroines are said to have signed the deal and dusky siren Pooja Hegde is the first one to reach there and pose from Saudi’s centuries old historic locations.

Other day she has posed from Mada’in Saleh in Saudi Arabia, which many failed to recognise. The area happens to be the capital of the Nabatean Arab kingdom way back in the 1st century. It’s not like any other normal desert as the archaeological site rarely had foreign visitors earlier. Now that Pooja Hegde has gone there, we have to see if others also will do.

However, tourists are still fearing about the way Saudi Arabia might treat them as the kingdom is known for a strict conservative approach and Islamic sharia laws.

Agneepath Music Directors Confirmed for Chiru’s Film

Share

#Chiru152 is all set to begin sometime later in November and director Siva Koratala is finalizing the cast and crew of the movie.

If the buzz is to be believed, Bollywood music composers have officially signed the movie.

The music director duo of brothers Ajay and Atul Gogavale, popularly known as Ajy-Atul will be giving songs to this social drama.

Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Agneepath’ is their popular film. They have popular numbers like ‘Chikni Chameli’ to their credit.

Although Ram Charan proposed to repeat ‘Sye Raa’ music director Amit Trivedi, Koratala opted Ajay-Atul.

After working with Devi Sri Prasad four films in a row, Koratala Siva disassociating with him has stunned the industry people. Koratala is said to have a fallout with DSP due to creative differences.

Chiru152 was officially launched recently. Ram Charan and Niranjan Reddy are producing the film that is expected to hit the screens in late summer 2020.

Will There Be Any Takers?

Share

Pawan Kalyan has taken the first serious decision since the formation of the new government and i.e. a protest march to be held in Visakhapatnam on November 3 against the non-availability of sand in the State.

He has also reportedly invited the other political Parties to join hands with him on that day.

The ‘sand problem’ is definitely turning out to be a big stumbling block and its about time that the YSRCP gets its act together on the issue.

But as far as the protest march is concerned, the biggest hurdle for the Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan is credibility.

In the TDP rule, he had made similar fiery comments against forcible acquisition of land for Amaravati.

He visited the villages of the region and uttered some ‘punch dialogues’ giving the hapless farmers, a ray of hope. Alas! It was all in vain as the ‘power star’ never did anything against his paymasters, the TDP.

Similarly, regarding the bifurcation, SCS and other issues, he constituted a fact-finding committee comprising of stalwarts like Dr Jayaprakash Narayan and Undavalli Arun Kumar who had belonged to different parties.

What was the outcome of that endeavor? A big zero! The soft-spoken Jayaprakash Narayan never belittles anyone dissociated himself with Pawan Kalyan soon.

Therefore, the Jana Sena chief might find it difficult to convince people about the sincerity of his motives or his ability to last the distance.

And one more thing, if Nara Lokesh is attending the protest march, then it should be explained in clear terms to him as to what it is all about.

Else, the darling boy of Chandrababu might go directly to Ramakrishna Beach and make comments about the sand there.
