I-T raids on Kalki trusts reveals Rs 500 cr black money
In a massive search operation covering 40 premises of religious trusts and other entities that preach about “oneness philosophy” and run wellness centres, the Income Tax Department has found Rs 500 crore of undisclosed income and links to investments in tax havens.
The tax authorities have seized cash amounting to Rs 43.9 crore during the search operations. Foreign currencies worth $2.5 million (Rs 18 crore) and about 88 kg of gold have also been discovered and seized.
“Total value of seizure so far is approximately Rs 93 crore. The undisclosed income of the group detected so far is estimated at more than Rs 500 crore,” the Tax Department said in a release.
The search proceedings are still in progress. “The search action which is still in progress has covered about 40 premises located in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Varadaiahpalem,” the tax department said.
The group of trusts and companies run by a spiritual guru has been found to be investing in a number of companies in India and abroad including in tax havens.
As per the income tax (I-T), some of these companies based in China, the US, Singapore, the UAE, etc have been receiving payments from foreign clients who attend the various residential “wellness” courses offered in India.
The department is investigating into diversion of income taxable in India to offshore entities by the group in this process.
Further, it has been revealed that one of the group trusts may be providing accommodation entries for other parties by receiving donations from them and then returning the money back under the garb of expenses and receiving a small percentage as fee.
“Instances have also been found where the group was not accounting for money received from foreign clients in cash in foreign currency and then exchanging the same in the grey market. All these leads are being pursued and investigation is in progress,” the Tax Department said.
The group which was founded by a spiritual guru in the 1980s with “oneness” philosophy has also diversified into several sectors including real estate, construction, sports, etc in India and abroad.
It is presently managed and controlled by the spiritual leader who laid the foundation of the group and his son.
The courses attract residential customers from abroad and the group earns substantial receipts in foreign exchange. There was intelligence that the group had been suppressing its receipts which were ploughed into investment in huge tracts of landed property in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
Vijay Not in Hurry over World Famous Lover
All major Telugu movies have booked their dates for the Christmas holidays and Sankranti festival. There is intense competition among the big movies for these dates.
But there is no mention of the release date of Vijay Deverakonda’s latest movie “World Famous Lover.”
The reason is simple: he doesn’t want to compete with any movie. After the failure of “Dear Comrade,” Vijay Devarakonda has mellowed down a bit and is taking wise decisions. Slow and steady is his new mantra.
“World Famous Lover” is in the final leg of its shoot. The film is being directed by Kranthi Madhav.
Produced by KS Rama Rao, the romantic entertainer presents Raashi Khanna, Catherine Tresa, and Aishwarya Rajesh in lead roles.
Apparently, Vijay wants to pitch this film for Valentine’s day if he doesn’t get a better date later this year or early 2020.

Raju gari Gadhi 3 – Movie Review
Ohmkar’s Raju Gari Gadhi 2 ended up as an average fare despite having big names like Nagarjuna and Samantha in the star cast. In the third installment of RGG, director and producer Ohmkar didn’t spend money on stars. He bought the remake rights of Dhilluku Duddu 2 and tried to repeat the formula that clicked for Raju Gari Gadhi.
What is it about?
A mysterious power is guarding Maya (Aivka Gor), a physiotherapist. The mysterious power doesn’t allow any man to come near her. But an auto driver Ashwin (Ashwin Babu) tries to impress her against all odds. How does he overcome the ghosts to marry her is what the rest of the film is about.
Performances:
Ashwin Babu tries to woo masses in a film that doesn’t give much scope for any heroics. He hasn’t shown much improvement in terms of acting but has gained confidence in front of the camera. Avika Gor has little to do except to look cute and appear worried at times. Ali got a full length role as Ashwin’s sidekick and he is okay. Urvashi and Ajay Ghosh bring few laughs here and there. Dhanraj’s character is repeated from the first part. Brahmaji gets a couple of spooky moments to tickle.
Technicalities:
Ohmkar is refusing to put down this horror comedy franchise aside and work on other scripts. He has made this one a decent budget compared to the first edition. It is technically slick compared RGG, but the quality of content and humor is lowbrow this time.
Songs are absolutely not needed, but there are one too many just to showcase Ashwin’s dancing skills. Background score is loud and predictable. Cinematography by Chota is the highlight. Special effects are okay in some scenes. Dialogues by Sai Madhav Burra are pretty standard. Production values are decent.
Thumbs Up:
Ghost comedy scenes
Camera work
Thumbs Down:
Weak script
Cheap jokes
Silly setup
Analysis:
Horror comedies have become too routine now that audience are not thronging to the theaters like they used to. However, Kanchana franchise is still minting money at the box office. This is Ohmkar’s attempt at milking out of his own mediocre horror franchise Raju Gari Gadhi. Basic plot of the film is taken from Tamil hit Dhilluku Duddu 2 and entire first half is dedicated to showcase Ashwin as a mass hero. Besides sporting a thick beard, driving an auto rickshaw and wearing lungis, Ashwin fails to make any impression in this mass avatar. A lot of time is wasted on his buildup shots and songs that could have been spent on comedy sequences which could have served its purpose.
Second half of the film is where the real fun starts. But it all gets too predictable and unfunny as the scenes get repetitive with ghosts screaming in the face and people thrown in to the air. A couple of moments do click in this so called horror comedy mess, but that cannot make this one a recommendable film. The director and writers have gone out of ideas to create humor that they resort to showing cheap scenes that are of low quality even for Raju gari Gadhi standards. Entire second half is a single marathon sequence where the main characters tread through a haunted bungalow in the dark with ghosts lurking in every corner.
Climax is hurried and lacks the punch. Only saving grace is its runtime, which is just over two hours. Ohmkar made Rajugari Gadhi on a shoestring budget, but he roped in big names for this one behind the screen. Chota behind the camera does a nice job to give it a visual appeal. Seasoned comedians like Ali, Brahmaji and Urvashi make some mediocre scenes work. Raju Gari Gadhi 3 is a comedy that is targeted at the audience that liked the original. Even they would agree that the humor is of low standard in this one. On a whole, this third room of Raju Garu is not worth visiting unless you could laugh at cheap jokes.
Verdict: Cheap and Cheerless!
Here is some clarity on Release Dates so far
As Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Mahesh’s Sarileru Neekevvaru locked their date on January 12th, many films that are actually eyeing Sankranthi release are now busy taking a final call. As two biggies are already there, others don’t want to overcrowd the festival days and lose revenues.
Firstly we have Balayya’s Ruler movie, which is actually eyeing a Sankranthi release from time. But the latest we hear is that the movie is going to release in December itself, whether on 20th or 25th. And now, there is Sai Dharam Tej’s Prathiroju Pandage, which is coming on December 20th. And Kalyan Ram’s Entha Manchivadavu Ra might release after Sankranthi festival.
Other films like Raviteja’s Disco Raja, Nithin’s Bheeshma, who are in the fag end of completion, might set the target on late-January or a February release. Akhil’s next and Sekhar Kammula Chay film are also eyeing Valentine’s Day release treat.
The only film that needs to give clarity about the release date is “Venky Mama” as Suresh Babu missed out Dasara season and eyeing for Sankranthi now, thereby giving tense moments for the other two biggies.
Working Title Of #Chiru152: Govinda Acharya?
At a time when the flag of magnum opus Sye Raa is about to get dropped from Telugu theatres, the launch of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s new film under the direction of Koratala Siva is giving fresh energy to fans. And here comes a snippet about #Chiru152.
Already we have come to know that that central plot of #Chiru152 revolves around temples and endowments department. In connection with this, now a working title of the film is being heard. Some say that “Govinda Acharya” is the working title of this movie which will go to floors from next month.
Well, sometimes working titles emerge as main titles and it looks like the title has a connection to the subject of the movie rather the hero’s star power. FIlms like Srimanhtudu and Bharat Ane Nenu have titles that summarised the character of the hero and at the same time highlighted heroism. So we have to see if Koratala really picked Govinda Acharya or not.
On the other hand, fan-made posters of this title are everywhere on the internet, making other mega-fans merry.
