40 years’ experienced Chandrababu Naidu is not only a former chief minister, but claims to be one of the seasoned politicians of this country. Every word that comes from Naidu holds weight as he has been widely followed by several national leaders. His tweets, posts on other social media platforms on various citizen issues and political issues have high significance for his rivals as well as other national leaders.

However, one tweet of Naidu has become major embarrassment to himself as well as the TDP as the tweet was based on some fake viral news. In a goof-up, Naidu had tweeted a picture of Asha workers carrying the effigy of “Jagan” and posted saying that people would do right “honour” to leaders whoever goes back on their promises. Naidu urged the government to come to the rescue of Asha workers at least now. But the blunder here is that the picture of Asha workers protesting was two years ago that too in Telangana state. Mistakenly, it is being used by some pro-TDP netizens, party workers as the protest against Naidu. Without noticing the real fact behind it, none other than Chandrababu himself had tweeted. With socially active netizens and YCP activists strongly countered to Naidu’s tweets by posting the original pictures of Asha workers protesting in Telangana, TDP and Naidu realized their blunder.

Immediately, the tweet of Naidu was deleted. But by then, the damage has already caused. This evoked funny reactions from netizens as well as YCP activists. Naidu became subject of jokes. This is a blunder from TDP’s social media wing and Naidu’s PR team. This incident clearly indicates the fall of TDP’s media wing and its hold on issues, matters. Usually, TDP has its own huge library, librarian and a team who gives facts and proper proofs and information to TDP chief on constant basis. Based on the team’s reports, TDP chief and other senior leaders of TDP act and speak in public forums.

But this tweet of Naidu clearly exposed the lenience, flaws in Naidu’s PR team and TDP’s media wing. At a time, an ex CM and a senior politician of the country is speaking in public forum, it has to be fool-proof. And TDP can’t defend itself on this issue for sure. Let’s hope it correct its mistakes and hires more young team in media in order to avoid such blunders and public embarrassments.
