U.S. visa process needs social media profiles now
The new requirement for all U.S visa seekers will be that they have to submit their social media usernames, previous e-mail addresses and contact numbers as a part of the visa application process. Yesterday, the U.S. State Department has announced the same stating that now, social media details are mandatory. This new rule is a part of a broad expansion of screening under Trump administration and it could affect nearly fifteen million might go travellers to the U.S. Earlier, in 2018, the department only updated the application forms to request the additional information.
The department stated that the National security is now their top priority when adjudicating visa applications, and every prospective traveller and immigrant to the United States undergo extensive security screening. It also said that they are constantly working to find mechanisms to improve their screening processes to protect U.S. citizens, while supporting legitimate travel to the United States.
Now the rule of social media personal details have been made mandatory for everyone but earlier, such a requirement was required for applicants who had been identified for extra scrutiny or people who had travelled to areas with a high degree of terrorist activity. Today, apart from social media platforms, they will also need any account names that have been five-year-old. Even phone numbers and email addresses have to be used over the past five years.
The social media services have been used in recent years can be observed as a tool to fuel “terrorist sentiment and activity.” As per the officials, these new requirements can be a valuable tool “to screen out terrorists, public safety threats, and other dangerous individuals from gaining immigration benefits and setting foot on U.S. soil.”

‘They wanted Aish to go for Miss Universe instead of me’
Sushmita Sen, who once defeated Aishwarya Rai at the Miss India beauty pageant 1994, has now opened up about a shocking incident happened then. Sushmita won Miss India and Aishwarya came as first runner-up, however, both went on to become winners at Miss Universe and Miss World pageants that year. In a recent interview, Sushmita revealed that she had lost her passport just when she was about to leave for the Philippines to participate in the Miss Universe pageant.
She said that her passport was with Anupama Verma, who was a very famous model back then, and she was also a coordinator for events. “She had my passport for a show in Bangladesh and she needed it for some ID proofing. So I told the organizers not to worry and that my passport is very safe with Anupama Verma”. However, Anupama couldn’t find it. This made Sushmita nervous and told her father the same. But, he was helpless as he did not have connections with eminent people. Also, the organisers were not entirely helpful either. “Apparently, they wanted to let Aishwarya compete in the Miss Universe pageant instead, while she went for Miss World. This made me angry,” she said.
“Because when you win something, rightfully so, you’re not requesting it. So we now have to come together and ensure that this gets done. It’s easy to say Yea, well now we can’t find it. The passport is lost. Miss World is in November. You go later, we’ll figure out your passport till then.” said Sushmita. The whole situation made her cry in front of her father. “Baba, I’m not going for anything else. I rightfully deserve to go for this. If I can’t go, nobody else will go for it,'” she said.
Finally, Sushmita’s father could get help from the late Union Minister Rajesh Pilot. Later, she also confirmed that she and Aish maintain a good relationship and rubbished all the rumours on having cold vibes between them.
Bobbili MLA As Pro-tem Speaker
Ahead of the first assembly sessions of YSRCP MLA Sambangi Venkata Appala Naidu has been named as Protem speaker. Sambangi represents Bobbili assembly constituency and upon his appointment, he thanked CM Jagan.
From June 12th, the second Andhra Pradesh assembly sessions are scheduled. In the presence of Pro-tem speaker, the newly elected MLAs will take oath and followed speaker election. However, Jagan is yet to take a call on the speaker. Like the secrecy he is maintaining for the cabinet, Jagan is carrying the silence. Although there are reports that a senior MLA will be mostly preferred, the name is yet to be decided.
Before the assembly sessions, the cabinet will be formed on June 8th and the first cabinet meeting is expected to take place on June 10th. Overall the next one week is going to be hectic for the new YSR Congress government.
Sushmita Sen Recovers From Life Threatening Health Condition
Usually, athletes take steroids for the improved performance and these days that is a crime. However, there is this beautiful heroine who suffered from a life-threatening disease and survived only because of steroids.
After doing her last Bollywood film ‘No Problem’ in 2011, former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen took a break from films and kept enjoying her social media presence. But in 2014, suddenly she was absent from all the glare and used to look quite plumpy and also dull at public events.
Other day the actress revealed that in 2014 she suffered from the adrenal crisis, a condition where her adrenal glands are not secreting anything. For every eight hours, she needs to be administered with steroids for the same and that went on for two years. Due to steroids, she developed high BP, hair fall and other illnesses as well. But miraculously in 2016, her body started producing cortisol again, thanks to gymnastics and yoga, she has recovered from the health condition completely.
Currently dating her Instagram follower Rohman Shawl, Sushmita is now looking forward to come back to acting, through a Netflix web series this time.
The only dream of Daggubati Ramanaidu
June 6th is legendary producer Daggubati Ramanaidu’s 83rd birth anniversary. On this occasion, the makers of ‘Venky Mama’ have unveiled a poster with an emotional message.
Producer Suresh Babu said it was always Ramanaidu’s dream to see his son and grandson sharing the screen together and it turned reality with ‘Venky Mama.’ Unfortunately Ramanaidu isn’t among us to witness this.
Further Suresh Babu added that the whole of Suresh Productions family misses him the most at this moment. Hero Rana Daggubati shared the poster in his Twitter handle and he too said he misses his grandfather more than ever.
‘Venky Mama’ has ‘Victory’ Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya in the lead roles.

‘I named my son Arjun Reddy,’
After tasting a huge triumph with Arjun Reddnirupay, director Sandeep Vanga is all set to take a plunge into Bollywood with its remake, Kabir Singh. In one of the latest interactions with the filmmaker, he said that he has named his son Arjun Reddy because he was born while they were in the midst of the shooting of the movie.
He also said that it took a bit longer than expected for him to write the character, Kabir Singh. “It was not easy to create a Mumbai born Punjabi boy who goes to study medicine at Delhi,” he said. He went on to compare the similarities between both Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh, saying that both the Punjabi Singhs and Telangana Reddys are somewhat similar in food and drink habits and also in being loud at emotional moments.
Sandeep revealed that he always had Shahid Kapoor in the mind for the titular role. “I felt no one else could relive it better”. Talking about his next projects, Sandeep said that he has already narrated a story to Mahesh Babu and also working on a crime drama, which will be a pan-Indian film.
Arjun Reddy, which went on to become a massive success, is now leaving the audience eager to see what Kabir Singh ha got to offer. However, the trailer looks promising and Shahid has nailed all the aggressive scenes which have been revealed in the trailer so far.
Telangana Cong says it’s down, but not out!
Despite receiving huge drubbing in the local body elections, the Congress party in Telangana does not feel it has been rejected by the people.
The Congress could win just 75 Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency seats out of 538 and 1,377 mandal parishad territorial constituency seats out of 5,817 seats.
On the other hand, the TRS registered victory in 445 of 538 ZPTC seats and 3,556 of 5,817 MPTC seats.
The Congress lost power in all the 32 zilla parishads. In as many 12 districts, it could not secure even a single ZPTC seat and got only one in six other districts.
Yet, the Congress feels it might be down, but not out.
“The election results showed we have enough strength,” says PCC treasurer G Narayan Reddy.
He said the results could not be considered as a sweep in favour of ruling TRS as Congress party has given a tough fight on all seats.
“Congress has won significant number of seats and lost many other seats with small margins despite the fact that TRS has openly misused the official machinery, money power and liquor,” he said.
He alleged that the Election Commission has completely ignored our complaints and TRS leaders were allowed to violate the Model Code of Conduct.
“The ruling party has used intimidation as a tool to get the support of voters in rural areas,” he alleged.
“The results of Lok Sahba elections have clearly shown that the Congress party was on its way to back to power. It has won three seats and lost three others with a small margin. Therefore, Congress has regained control over half of the State and it would revive itself in remaining half in the next few months,” Narayana Reddy said.

Jagan’s ‘over goodness’ may prove costly in the long run!
Becoming Chief Minister of a state at a young age of 46 years, that too by setting up own party and fighting against manipulative politicians like Chandrababu Naidu, is something which is possible not even for a handful of people on the earth.
But YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy achieved this rare feat.
However, even after becoming CM, the body language and posture of Jagan continues to remain the same.
The ‘commanding nature’ in his body language or his words which are expected from a person of the stature of CM is not seen in Jagan even a week after assuming office as CM.
Jagan continues to remain ‘friendly and lively’ with officials in AP government, like he behaved with common people during his padayatras, odarpu yatras etc.
Jagan continues to be jovial with officials, looking not-so confident while receiving or addressing senior officials, sitting with folded hands during official review meetings etc.
The week-long functioning as CM and his body language led to a general feeling among public, officials and politicians that Jagan is displaying ‘over goodness’, which may be exploited by officials.
Normally bureaucrats are known to be shrewd. If bosses are jovial and lenient, they tend to exploit the situation to their advantage, indulge in irregularities and bring disrepute to the government. This has been the history of bureaucracy for long.
There are fears that Jagan’s ‘over goodness’ towards officials may prove costly for his government in the long run.
Jagan addressing IAS officers or other senior officials in the government during his review meetings as ‘anna’ and saying “cheppandanna” is something which is not apt for a person of a stature like CM during official meetings.
This has been giving impression to officials that Jagan has ‘easy going nature’ who cannot dictate or control them or behave in a strict and stringent manner.
Some veteran officials are treating Jagan like their son and cracking jokes in meetings as Jagan’s body language and posture is not commanding which is normally expected from a CM.
It’s better Jagan changes his body language and posture as early as possible and look commanding and strict like a CM, else his ‘over goodness’ may be exploited by manipulative and shrewd officials for their personal gains bringing disrepute to government.
Jagan’s sitting posture at Raj Bhavan during Iftar party in Hyderabad while he was holding discussions with Telangana CM KCR and Governor Narasimhan was also not liked by many.
Jagan did not even occupy his seat fully or comfortably, sat in the first half portion of the seat with folded hands, bowing and bending his head. He was sitting as if he was a small-time employee in the government before KCR and Governor.
He did not look like a CM of a state nor looked confident and composed while talking to them.
