Dear Telugu Directors, Give Him Better Roles
There are many underrated actors and only a few of them regularly get opportunities. One such actor is none other than talented Rajeev Kanakala who is in the film industry since his childhood. And other day, he just flashed his brilliant acting prowess yet again.
In Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi, Rajeev appeared in a brief role that barely gives him two proper scenes. He excels in that small role with negative touch quite easily and proved that he’s someone who could be mould into any sort of character. While the audiences wanted more of him, the character got shrouded in the storyline.
Those who have seen Rajeev’s portrayal are seen asking directors and filmmakers to give more roles to such a talented person. In fact, he deserves some strong villain roles opposite star Telugu heroes as he could seriously give a run for the money when given such challenges.
Like Rajeev, we have other talented actors like Brahmaji and Naresh who should be given some more serious and better roles.
After #SyeRaa, Anushka Might Join #RRR
After the super success of Bhaghamathie movie, curvaceous siren Anushka hasn’t signed any other big film owing to the fact that she wants to slim down heavily. And now, she’s part of many films including that of Indo-American film Silence.
Recently we have reported that Anushka is likely to sizzle in #SyeRaa, as she is likely to do a special item number in this film featuring Megastar Chiranjeevi as Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. Though there is confirmation over this, some sources revealed that Anushka will shoot for the song very soon.
And then, there is a buzz that the Baahubali actress will also join Rajamouli’s next film. Reportedly she will be doing a small role in the period film #RRR which deals with the life and times of Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem. A source revealed that she plays a three minutes crucial role in the movie, which comes right before the interval.
Looks like Baahubali’s Devasena is enjoying her presence in historical and period films if the news about her acts in Sye Raa and RRR is true.
TIME Magazine Cover calls Modi ‘Divider-in-Chief’
In what could create an annoying few days for the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Time Magazine’s cover has described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as India’s “Divider in Chief.” The May 20th issue of the Time’s is apparently on all editions of the Magazine except the US. The cover story written by Aatish Taseer questions “Can the world’s largest democracy endure another five years of a Modi government?.”
Interestingly, Aatish Taseer is the son of popular Delhi-based journalist Tavleen Singh who has been a pro-BJP journalist for a long time. Another article in the magazine looks at how Modi’s reign in India has had a positive effect on the country and why the country needs a strong face like him to push economic reforms.
Many view this as a change of stance from the Time Magazine which had Modi on its 2015 issue cover where it said “Why Modi Matters” and also carried an in-depth interview of the Prime Minister. In this issue’s cover story written by Taseer, the article explores how Modi’s ascension to power was followed by a series of incidents that promote hate-mongering among different religious communities. The article also looks into how nationalism has been used as a clever strategy by the BJP in the election campaigns but has had debilitating effects on the country.
Day 2: Maharshi Holds Well in Nizam
Mahesh Babu’s “Maharshi” took mixed reactions from all. The reviews were also not so entirely positive. But the film is cashing in on the craze and summer holidays.
After setting non-Baahubali record on the first day, the movie has performed on strong note on second day too.
“Maharshi” has raked in Rs 3.28 Cr share in its second day which is very good hold. Its total share is Rs 9.66 Cr.
If it continues to perform in similar manner on Saturday and Sunday, then it will head for big haul in the first week.
On the other hand, the film is continuing to underperform in USA. On Friday, it has received just above $200k (early estimates). It will only reach to $1 million mark on Saturday.
“Maharshi” is Mahesh Babu’s 25th film. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju, the film has Pooja Hegde and Allari Naresh in key roles.
‘iSmart Shankar’ rights are yet to be done: Charmme
The producers of ‘iSmart Shankar’ has rubbished the reports of ‘iSmart Shankar.’ Some unconfirmed reports claimed that the film’s business is done.
But denying, Charmme said, “We haven’t talked about it till date as we have concentrated on the shoot all these days. Very soon we are planning to launch the teaser as well.”
Further Charmme said, Friday happens to be the last of talkie part shooting and songs are remaining to be done. With the confidence on the content n combination of Puri n Ram ‘iSmart Shankar’ has been shot on a very grand scale.
Acknowledging that they received offers from various areas, Charmme added, yes that’s true that many distributors have approached me for the rights but I refused to take a call at such early stages .. As the main focus is to make our film superbly and then we will discuss about the rights and business of the film.
‘iSmart Shankar’ is a Puri Jagannadh directorial and has Ram Pothineni, Nidhhi Agerwal and Nabha Natesh in the lead roles.
Namrata Slams Troll Who Wrote ‘Use Make-Up, Are You Depressed’
Namrata Shirodkar is celebrating the release and early success of her actor husband Mahesh Babu’s recent film Maharshi with her family and close friends.
Pictures from their cosy get-together are all over the internet and on one of the photos and in the comments section of one of the pictures, an Instagram user wrote: “Namarta, why don’t you put some make-up. Are you suffering with… depression.”
The former Miss World shut the troll with her empowering reply, which read: “You might love women with make-up… maybe you should follow someone who is always made up and suits your criteria! You are not going to find it on this page!! So maybe you should get off it… sincere request.”
Namrata Shirodkar was crowned Miss India in 1993 and she went on to represent India in the Miss Universe pageant, where she stood sixth.Five years after winning Miss India pageant, Namrata Shirodkar started her Bollywood journey with a small appearance in Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai.
Namrata Shirodkar and Mahesh Babu are parents to son Gautham and daughter Sitara.
Andhra Aavada Star Absconding!
Actor Sivaji created a stir in political circles with his theory of Operation Garuda last year. His laughable statements earned him a nickname – “Perugu Vada” star.
Some also labelled him ‘Andhra Aavada’ star as ‘Aavada’ means Dahi Vada/Perugu Vada.
Telangana police are searching for him in the forgery case related to TV9. According to YSRC party leader Vijay Sai Reddy, Sivaji is in absconding.
He tweeted, “Why is that Sivaji who gave lectures about Whistle Blowers act and Indian Penal Code is hiding for the past four days? Has he realized his own fate? He thought that Ravi Prakash would save him but the guy himself is in mess. Learned that Sivaji has switched off his mobile.”
As per Sivaji’s silly theory BJP government at center is conspiring against whole South India.
Though he was acting on behalf of Telugu Desam party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu and for his “caste” interests, he used to give color that he was doing it for his ‘Janmabhumi’ (Andhra Pradesh) and boasted himself as a guy who is non-partisan.
He first got full coverage for his utterly laughable political statements and outbursts in TV9.
Rumor has it that it was Ravi Prakash who gave all this stuff of information to make him a political star.
Soon after other pro-TDP channels have started giving him full coverage as they saw that he can be used for anti-Modi and anti-BJP outbursts.
Sivaji later filed a case in National Company Law Tribunal against Ravi Prakash claiming that he bought some shares of TV9 from him but the shares were not yet allotted to him.
Alanda Media, the new management of TV9, filed cases against Sivaji and Ravi Prakash.
While Ravi Prakash has been sacked as CEO from the group, the case against Sivaji will be tighented.
Tollywood Celebrating Ravi Prakash’s Unceremonious Exit
Ravi Prakash, a brand in his own in journalism, had tarnished the images of many Tollywood celebrities when he was ruling the roost.
He had crossed all limits in covering certain personal episodes of celebrities and hounded them. It is said that he used to tell his journalists to target film celebrities more for TRPs.
Ratings was the main concern for him than the standards of journalism, the insiders say.
Just a year ago, it was Pawan Kalyan who exposed Ravi Prakash’s double standards.
Pawan Kalyn even posted pictures of Ravi Prakash’s personal life on social media and made a point to stress that it would hurt a celebrity if family members are dragged in.
Ravi Prakash later put a blanket ban on Pawan Kalyan and his Jana Sena party in TV9 channel. No news (good or bad) were covered during the polls about Jana Sena. Who had last laugh now?
Ravi Prakash made a critic into celebrity by giving full coverage to him as he had been tarnishing the image of Pawan Kalyan and his fans day in day out. Later he also “accommodated” the said critic in his other news channel as a thanksgiving gesture.
When Trisha’s bathroom clip was leaked, it was TV9 that did telecast for hours.
Hero Nagarjuna also made hue and cry when his image was destroyed by the channel in Annapurna Studios expansion drive.
When Megastar Chiranjeevi’s younger daughter Srija ran away with her boyfriend to get married, TV9 carried the news for two days continuously and made it a national issue.
During the Telangana government’s drive against drugs, Ravi Praskash’s team hounded several celebrities like Charmy, Puri and Ravi Teja, as if they were going to be arrested in the case.
No celebrity was proven guilty in the cast but Ravi Prakash made them as such with his news coverage.
No celebrity worries about regular gossips such as love affairs as they are part and parcel of celebrities lives but they get offended when wrongfully tarnish their image. That is what Ravi Prakash did on many occasions.

Summer Talk: One Fun Movie Please!
In every holidays season like Sankranthi, Summer and Dasara, usually, family audiences look forward to watching some full-on fun entertainers no matter what other films they are supplied with. That’s the reason some routine masala movies usually make it very big at the box office.
Cut to the present Summer season, successful film Majili is a romantic drama, while Jersey is an emotional melodrama and other day release Maharshi is a message oriented socio-political film. What about some pure fun like F2? Will audiences get to see a film that will give them comic relief?
In the coming days we have movies like ABCD, Sita, Arjun Suravaram, NGK and Abhinetri hitting the cinemas. Looks like every one of them has a unique concept, but not completely comedy. But if any of them hits the bullseye with their fun, then surely it is going to be a surprise winner this summer.
On the other hand, Majili might end up as a movie with huge profits, while Maharshi will be getting to the border and Jersey doing good at the box office.

Hyderabad man stabbed to death in London
Hyderabad: A 29-year-old man from Hyderabad was stabbed to death in London by an unidentified man, according to information reaching his family here on Friday.
Mohammed Nadeemuddin was found murdered in the cellar of a supermarket where he was employed.
A co-worker is suspected to have killed Nadeemuddin over a dispute. Police was questioning the suspect, said to be an Asian.
A resident of Noor Khan Bazar in the old city of Hyderabad, Nadeemuddin had gone to London six years ago and was working at a Tesco supermarket.
Nadeemuddin’s wife is a doctor and recently joined him in London.
The victim’s family members have appealed to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to help them in reaching London.
The crime came to light when Nadeemuddin did not answer phone calls of his family members, who then alerted the management of the supermarket. The management informed the police who found his body with stab injuries in the cellar.
Who is fearing defeat? Modi or Naidu?
In order to cover up his own tension, Naidu has been trying to divert the people’s attention to the national politics.
The ongoing general elections to Lok Sabha have become as crucial to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the assembly elections to Naidu. Both the leaders are facing a rough weather in the battle field.
But Naidu told the party leaders on Friday that Modi was scared of facing a defeat in the elections. He said Modi had been indulging in low-grade politics only because of fear of defeat in these general elections.
Naidu said all the highly spoken initiatives of Modi including digital India, make in India, Gujarat model of development and others had been proven failed concepts.
Instead of explaining about what the BJP government did in the last five years to the nation, Modi had been criticising Rajiv Gandhi, who died twenty five years back.
He said that he started fight against Modi not for selfish reasons but for benefit of five crore population of Andhra Pradesh.
Well, people have taken a decision on Naidu in AP and also on Modi in India. Let us watch out who will win the battle.
KCR waits, Stalin isn’t bothered
Telangana CM KCR who embarked his south states tour for Federal Front has received unexpected twists. As part of it, the TRS supremo first met Kerala counterpart Piranayi Vijayan with a prior appointment and discussed about national politics for nearly ninety minutes. With partial positive things, KCR landed in Tamil Nadu but his plans are not going like how he intended them to be. DMK chief Stalin is yet to confirm his appointment and with no other option, KCR is waiting silently.
With the slogan of non-BJP and non-Congress front, KCR had met Odisha CM Naveen Patniak, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and others before the announcement of elections. He also discussed his ideas. He went on record to say that he will be once again touring states after the polls to gather the support for Federal Front. As part of it, he is visiting states which are done with the voting process and that’s how he started with south states. TRS party sources have indicated that KCR will meet Stalin on May 13th.
With Stalin busy with election campaign, he did not give an appointment and is also not sure whether he will allot time or not. On one hand KCR is waiting for Stalin appointment and in this gap, he is filling it with visiting the famous temples. On the first day of his TN visit, KCR paid homage to former President Abdul Kalam and had a look of the Kalam museum. On the second day, the TRS chief went to Rameshwaram, Dhanushkodi, Rama Sethu and Panchamukhi Hanuman temples. KCR was accompanied by his wife, son KTR, MP Santosh, grandson Himanshu and others.
But why is KCR so desperate to meet Stalin in spite of the DMK chief being super busy. This has become a topic of discussion in the political circles. Political experts are even surprised by KCR’s patience to get Stalin’s appointment.

TV9 Gets New CEO And COO
Leading news channel TV9 is going through some serious changes. Though Ravi Prakash has claimed that he is still the CEO and none can replace him, we hear that Associated Broadcasting Company Limited (ABCL) has appointed new CEO and COO.
The new directors of ABCL have met earlier in the day and finalised two names for the above mentioned positions. Mahendra Mishra is appointed as the CEO while Singa Rao is the new Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Businessman Srini Raju used to hold the maximum stake in TV9 but he sold it to Alandha Media Group some time back. This group has appointed new directors and they have collectively made a decision on CEO and COO.
