The buzz of the movie, Maharshi changed with the theatrical trailer and the confidence in Mahesh Babu’s face. As the Avengers EndGame buzz came down, the movie could get good amount of eyes on it with the pre-release event. The censor reports have suggested that the movie theme is too good and Mahesh Babu’s performance is top notch.

Now, some of the few producers and close members of team who saw the film are saying few exciting things about the film.We can say that these are the highlights of the film. The first one is that Mahesh’s performance in the first half of the film as a ruthless business man is fresh and never seen before kind of an experienced it seems. Also, in college scenes he looked different from before, it seems.

Second highlight is said to be the scene with Sai Kumar and third one, the scene with farmers in government office.Fourth is the pre-climax warning scene to villains and fifth is the farmers walking with Mahesh Babu from all the villages near by.

The variations that Mahesh brought in the second half and press meet scene are other highlights, it seems. On the whole, movie is a commercial film with Mahesh in top form, it seems.Vamshi Paidipally handled everything well and producers are hence doubly confident about the film.

Your father’s died as ‘Corrupt No.1’: Modi to Rahul Gandhi

Share

With continuous taunts on Narendra Modi from the Congres president Rahul Gandhi from the past few days, Prime Minister has finally taken a jibe and reacted in the same manner as Rahul. At a rally in Uttar Pradesh, Modi spoke on former PM Rajiv Gandhi, the father of Rahul Gandhi.

Modi said that Rajiv Gandhi’s life ended as “corrupt number 1”. He also pointed out Rahul’s earlier remarks made on him about alleged corruption in the Rafale jet deal. He said Mr.Gandhi’s only aim was to tarnish his image.

While indirectly referring to the Bofors case during Rajiv Gandhi’s tenure, Modi said “Your father was labelled as ‘Mr Clean’ by his courtiers, but his life ended as ”Bhrashtachari No 1”. He also said Congress’ people’s only job is to ruin his reputed image. “By spoiling my image and by making me look small, Congress wants to form an unstable and a weak government in the country,” he said.

He took a dig further saying that Rahul Gandhi should remember that Modi was not born with a golden spoon, nor was he born in any royal family. On the other hand, Congress leaders lashed out at Modi saying he has crossed all limits of decency by belittling a man who died in 1991.

‘Ramayana & Mahabharata preaches violence’

Share

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury made a controversial statement on Hindus recently. He said religious epics Ramayana and Mahabharata show how Hindus can also be violent. Earlier, Sadhvi Pragya Singh claimed that Hindus don’t believe in violence.

In counter to that, Yechury said kings in mythologies fought battles and Ramayana, Mahabharata are mostly filled with violence and wars. In a public meeting, he said: “Being a pracharak, you narrate the epics but still claim Hindus cannot be violent?”.

He said that it a false idea that Hindu don’t believe in violence as our historic and epic stories don’t verify this claim. “What is the logic behind saying there is a religion which engages in violence and we Hindus don’t,” he added. Many people extended their support to his statement saying both Raavan and Kamsa, being Hindus, are violent than anyone in history.

Finally, Yechury went on to attack the BJP and urged the public to vote for Digvijaya Singh and defeat Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur from Bhopal.

Modi Talk About AP & Telangana In Bihar

Share

Speaking at a poll campaign in Bihar’s Ram Nagar, Narendra Modi has dragged the issue of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He has made sensational comments on both the states that how they’re fighting against each other even after splitting. Modi blamed Congress for the manner in which AP was bifurcated. He has said the people of both states are not able to see each other’s faces although both speak the same language – Telugu. Modi said even after 5 years after the bifurcation, he alleged that there is no bond between the Telugu states.

This is not all. Modi went onto allege that those who want to split the nation has bifurcated AP. Modi said Congress has totally failed in handling the bifurcation of AP. Modi recalled how Atal Bihari Vajpayee had handled the carving out of three states. Modi reminsced that Jharkhand was carved out from Bihar, Uttarakhand was carved out from Uttar Pradesh and Chattisgarh was carved out from Madhya Pradesh in an amicable, friendly way. He said the people of the existing state and the new states have been maintaining friendly relation.

The fresh comments of Modi on both AP and Telangana have become hot topic in the political circles. While BJP had backed the bifurcation of AP back in 2014, Modi’s fresh comments are expected to trigger sharp political reactions from TRS and Congress in Telangana.

Beach Pictures Not Working Out

Share

To catch the attention of film folks and audiences, these days the best tool is social media. Whether it is the effervescent comments of directors or the hot pictures of struggling heroines, social media presence is helping some of them.

However, trends are changing and somehow the beach pictures are ending up as duds for these hotties. These pictures are becoming a ‘pulihora’ if we have to say in common terms. There a bunch of struggling heroines like Pragya Jaiswal, Ruhani Sharma, Poonam Bajwa and others who wanted to crack the opportunities door using these pictures.

While it is Pragya’s beach stroll pictures or Ruhani’s over the top skin show on a beach, whether it is Poonam Bajwa’s swimsuit pics from beach and pool or Laxmi Rai’s bold treat from Bangkok beaches, they are just getting some ‘likes’ on the respective social media but actually not bringing opportunities.

We hear that heroines who thought that beach bikini pics can alter their fate are now pushed into thinking about alternative routes to impress filmmakers. Maybe they should attend more auditions and look into scripts rather just looking at remuneration and combination.

Whom To Blame For Maharshi’s Over-Budget?

Share

Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi is one of the most anticipated films in this season and the film is riding with high expectations. But what is worrying the trade and industry circuits is its high budget.

While a few rumour mongers and some media folks are unnecessarily blaming superstar Mahesh Babu for no reason, but the fact is that director Vamshi Paidipally was the man behind Maharshi. As Mahesh is always prompt to the shootings and is a disciplined actor, he was never the cause for the additional costs of his films. Many in the industry know Mahesh as director’s actor and producer’s actor.

On the other hand, it is director Vamshi Paidipally who has complete control on Maharshi. Right from erecting big sets to choosing different locations to extending number of working days. The onus lies on director Vamshi. In addition to the making costs, Vamshi took a lot of time on script during the pre-production stage. No doubt, it’s good to work on script properly, but those costs also shot up adding to the overall budget of Maharshi.

Even Vamshi’s previous film Oopiri which got rave reviews couldn’t do well compared to its high budget. While the Telugu version did well, the Tamil version has failed to rake in moolah. Vamshi always wants to make his films look grand and lavish. There is nothing wrong in going for rich visuals. But at the same time, he also has to bring down the making costs of the film without affecting the quality. Since Vamshi is a good director, he has to understand producer’s concerns and make them earn more profits to both producers, distributors.

When it comes to Maharshi, the final judgment lies with the audiences who are gonna give verdict on May 9th.

Deserted Beaches: Lanka Tourism Hit After Bombings

Share

LANKA/COLOMBO: Sri Lanka’s $4.4 billion tourism industry is reeling from cancellations as travellers shun the sun and sand Indian Ocean island after multiple suicide bombings that killed over 250 people two weeks ago.

Suspected suicide bombers from little-known Islamic groups in Sri Lanka attacked churches and luxury hotels in the country on Easter Sunday, killing worshippers, tourists and their families.

Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attacks. Tourism, which accounts for 5 percent of the country’s gross domestic product, has suffered as tourists from around the world cancelled hotel and flight bookings fearing more attacks.

“It’s a big blow to the economy, as well as the tourism industry,” Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena said in an interview on Saturday.

“For the economy to develop, it’s important tourism return to where it was before the attacks. “Net hotel bookings dropped a staggering 186 percent on average over the week following the attacks compared to the same period last year, data from travel consultancy ForwardKeys showed.

A decline of more than one hundred percent indicates more cancellations than bookings. Cancellation rates at hotels across the country averaged 70 percent as of Saturday, with the capital Colombo taking a bigger hit, Sri Lanka’s Tourism Bureau Chairman Kishu Gomes told Reuters.

“Some airlines have also discontinued frequency of flights. Load factor is much lower than it used to be,” Gomes said

“It is a worrying factor for sure.” Tourism took off in Sri Lanka, which boasts of a 1,600-km (1,000-mile) long coastline, following the end of the decades-long civil war with Tamil separatists in 2009.

It was Sri Lanka’s third largest and fastest growing source of foreign currency last year.

Decisive policy and security measures will be important to revive the industry and support economic growth, the International Monetary Fund has said. For now, businesses from luxury hotels to beach shacks are facing mounting losses.

In Bentota, one of a string of beach resorts south of Colombo, occupancy rates have plummeted, according to interviews with hotel managers.

Samanmali Collone, 54, runs the seven-room Warahena Beach Hotel in Bentota, where rooms cost 10,000 Sri Lankan rupees ($56) per night.

Her hotel had previously been fully booked for the day when Reuters visited on Thursday, but when news of the bombings on Easter Sunday emerged, all of her guests cancelled.

“There are no bookings: this week, next month, even in October, they have all cancelled,” she said, speaking in her deserted beachside restaurant where waiters polished glasses and re-arranged tables, but without any sign of any guests arriving.Collone said if bookings do not pick up soon, she will have to let go some of her sixteen staff.

“We have had issues before but this is completely different,” she said.
