Sai Reddy Comments Don’t Reflect His Stature!

Share

YSR Congress party general secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy generally appears to be very soft-spoken and intellectual material.

But when it comes to attacking the political rivals, Sai Reddy does not look dignified and decent.

Especially when it is Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh, the YSRC leader uses choicest epithets to run them down.

Many neutral observers feel that the words he uses against the rivals and more particularly his tweets, do not augur well for a person of Sai Reddy’s stature. He heckles Naidu and Lokesh using cheap words.

“There is nothing wrong in attacking the political rivals, but a person of Sai Reddy’s position should look dignified in the attack and with proper evidences,” a political analyst observed.

In his eagerness to attack Naidu, sometimes Sai Reddy appears to be conveniently and deliberately giving misleading information.

A day after the polling, Naidu said 30 per cent of the Electronic Voting Machines developed technical snags in the first few hours and at many places, the polling did not start even till afternoon. He suspected the role of technical experts who changed the defunct EVMs.

But Sai Reddy sought to ridicule Naidu by misinterpreting the latter’s statement as 30 per cent of voters could not exercise their franchise and said yet, the TDP is expected to win 130 seats.

Similarly, for the last couple of days, he sought to run down former CBI joint director and Jana Sena Party leader V V Lakshminarayana with his silly tweets. He wondered how the Jana Sena would win 88 assembly seats, when it contested only 65 seats.

When JD tried to clarify that his party had contested in 145 seats, Sai Reddy shot back how the Jana Sena would consider the seats secretly left for the TDP as part of understanding.

Lakshminarayana gave a dignified reply to Sai Reddy’s tweets, but when the latter started turning out to be discourteous, the Jana Sena leader stopped responding saying he did not want to join issue with people like Sai Reddy.

It is better Sai Reddy confines himself to the role of an advisor to Jagan, rather than behaving like a cheap politician.

Protest over Telangana intermediate board fiasco

Share

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TBIE) here for a second consecutive day on Tuesday as students continued their protest over the goof-ups in intermediate examination results.

Dozens of students belonging to various groups were arrested as they tried to stage sit-in in front of TBIE office in Nampally in the heart of the city, demanding justice to students who appeared in 11th and 12th standard examinations.

Professor K. Nageshwar Rao, a former legislator who reached the TBIE office to express solidarity with the protesting students, was also arrested. He demanded immediate action against those responsible for lapses in the results.

Large number of policemen were deployed at the office, which remained out of bounds for students seeking redressal of their grievances. They remained clueless on applying for re-valuation of the answer sheets as they were not allowed to enter the board office. Students complained that they could not even apply online as the board’s website was not functioning.

Opposition parties and student groups have alleged that the bungling by the board led to suicide of 16 students.

Balala Hakkula Sangham, a NGO working for children’s rights, approached Telangana High Court on Tuesday, seeking direction to the government to order re-valuation of all answer sheets. It also sought a thorough probe into the lapses and compensation to the families of the students who ended their lives.

A total of 9 lakh students had appeared in the intermediate exams held in February-March. The results, announced last Thursday, led to utter chaos. Many bright students who did well in the first year failed in the second year. Most of them were shocked as they were awarded zero, one or two marks.

TBIE Secretary A. Ashok on Monday admitted that there were some lapses in declaring the results. He, however, assured students that the discrepancies would be rectified.

The state government on Monday ordered an inquiry into the alleged lapses in the system deployed by Globarena Technologies, whose services were hired by TBIE to conduct the exams.

A three-member committee, headed by G. T. Venkateswar Rao, Managing Director, Telangana State Technological Service, will find out whether there were any errors in publication of results on account of any systemic errors of the agency. The committee, which also has Professor A. Vassan of BITS Hyderabad and Professor Nishanth Dongari of IIT Hyderabad as its members, has been asked to submit report in three days.

Sai Tej Going with Maruthi’s Plan

Share

Sai Dharam Tej has changed his name for the sake of good luck. Indeed, he got minor blessing.Sai Dharam Tej has shortened his name to Sai Tej for numerical reasons on the advice of Maruthi.

Now that his “Chitralahari” became average grosser, he is feeling content and has immediately given his nod to director Maruthi.

Before the release of “Chitralahari”, Sai Tej was unsure about Maruthi’s story but he has now convinced.

The film will have class moments as well as massy elements but it will not have unnecessary fights. “Chitralahari” had zero action element, yet it was received well. Sai Tej will be going this plan.

But his aim should now be increasing his market. With films like “Supreme”, he had created more than Rs 25 Cr theatrical market for him. But it came crashing down later and is now hovering around Rs 10 to Rs 12 Cr.

Package Deal for Mahesh 26 Movie

Share

Rs 50 Cr is the package deal that is given to Anil Ravipudi by producer Anil Sunkara for Mahesh Babu’s new movie.

Under Rs 50 Cr, Anil Sunkara has to complete entire production cost. Remunerations of cast and crew would be covered in this production cost since Mahesh Babu is taking home nearly Rs 40 Cr for this movie in a separate deal.

As per the agreement, the producer has parted the bouquet rights of satellite, Hindi dubbing rights and digital rights to Mahesh Babu as part of his remuneration.

Producer Anil Sunkara will not take a single paisa from this and it would be Mahesh Babu’s wife Namrata headache to sell all these rights on her own.

Given her talent in dealing with corporate companies, it is expected that she would definitely squeeze in more than Rs 40 Cr from this bouquet of rights.

So, producer will not get any additional revenue from Mahesh 26 other than the theatrical business.

As the producer has already agreed to pay Rs 10 Cr to Anil Ravipudi, they have put a condition to him to complete the movie’s production cost within Rs 50 Cr bracket. So that they would have profits on theatrical pre-business which is expected to be in the range of Rs 80 Cr.

Anil Ravipudi has to complete the movie in six months. These are the conditions that were laid down.

The film is expected to start rolling from June. Vijayshanti has been roped in essay a key role. Rashmika might be pairing up with Mahesh Babu. Devi Sri Prasad will be retained as the music director.

While discussing about the shooting, Nikhil shared that the director was supposed to shoot a close-up shot of him getting slapped.

“One shot of mine took 36 takes. A police officer was supposed to beat me, so that I should fall on the ground with that force. I was beaten up 36 times. I had to do it,” added Nikhil.

But Nikhil was lucky enough to get away with a single taken when it was the turn of Lavanya to slap him as she did it in just one go!

The shooting was one hell of a task both added.

“Every day we plan from 9 to 6 but it never ended at the exact time. The shooting would prolong to 10 PM and sometimes even 1 AM,” added Nikhil and Lavanya. In fact both did the action episodes without dope which was quite risky.

Bigg Boss 3 Host: Two More Names Pop Up

Share

For some reason, Telugu celebrities are feeling shocked by Bigg Boss, because they don’t want all the negativity on earth to engulf them in such a short time. Looking at the way Nani got attacked by netizens who got divided themselves into fans of Kaushal, Geetha Madhuri, and Tanish, no big hero is now willing to host the latest edition of this show.

After Nani opted out of the show post the Season 2, the show producers have thought of bringing back Jr NTR, but the star hero has rejected the idea citing that he’s busy with #RRR. And then, they have fallen back on their longtime supporter Akkineni Nagarjuna who has earlier hosted Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu for them.

Reports are coming that even Nagarjuna has cited his inability to host the show for reasons unknown and currently discussions are going on. Apart from Nag, now the team has got in touch with Daggubati Venkatesh and his nephew Rana Daggubati as well, to host this show. If not the Daggubati senior, most likely Rana might host this show, says a source.

For the now, Bigg Boss team hasn’t finalized any host, as far as the reports are concerned.

YSRC to win 105 MLA seats, but lose six MP seats?

Share

Ever since the polling for elections to the assembly and Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh was completed on April 11, almost all the surveys predicted that the YSR Congress party will wrest power from the Telugu Desam Party after May 23, when the results are announced.

According to highly placed sources, the Central intelligence department has also conducted its own exit poll studies and reported to the Centre that the YSRC is going to win 105 MLA seats, as against 120-130 MLA seats predicted by various other agencies.

Apparently, the central intelligence indicated that the TDP had given tough fight in several assembly constituencies and it might get 65-70 MLA seats. The Jana Sena Party will either draw a blank or get a maximum of two to three seats.

However, the intelligence reports also suggested that the TDP will fare much better than what was predicted in the Lok Sabha elections.

According to these reports, the YSRC might win 16-19 MP seats, while the TDP will win five to six seats.

The YSRC is expected to lose in Narsaraopet, Visakhapatnam, Kurnool, Machilipatnam, Narasapur and Kakinada. In Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and Vijayawada, too, the YSRC is likely to have a close call.

In any case, there will be some clarity when the actual exit polls results are out on May 19 evening and the final verdict will be any way out on May 23.

TS Inter Results Scam: A Blot on KCR’s Govt!

Share

Everyone knows how important is 10+2 stage in the life of any student. It is that stage which makes or mars the future of any student.

But for Telangana government led by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, 10+2 does not appear to hold any significance.

The recent scam which surfaced in the Telangana Intermediate exam results is a classic example to show how ‘insensitive’ and how ‘inefficient’ the TRS government is.

Nearly 3,000 Intermediate toppers, who secured more than 90 per cent marks in exams, that is who scored more than 900 marks out of total 1,000 marks in Inter exams this year, were declared as ‘failed’ by the Inter Board.

This is only the tip of the iceberg. There are several thousands of other meritorious students who were either declared by the Board as ‘failed’ or scored just about ‘pass marks’.

Shocked at this, several students already committed suicides. Over 18 suicides have already been reported from various districts of Telangana since the announcement of results four days ago.

When media dug deep into the issue, it was found that it was the mistake of the Board and not the students. It handed over the job of processing results to a private company, which is ill-experienced.

The result is, the above company declared results making passed students ‘failed’ and failed students ‘passed’.

Thought the scam came to light four days ago hardly anyone from the government, starting from CM KCR to his son KTR or education minister G Jagadish Reddy responded while shocked students and parents are running around Inter Board in Nampally every day to seek clarifications and sitting on agitations to protest the gross negligence of Inter Board.

The Inter Board headed by IAS officer and secretary Ashok initially tried to cover up the issue saying that “it’s common for students to fail in exams. Why media is blowing this out of proportion?”

But when media brought to light specific cases of meritorious students who were declared as failed, the Inter board admitted ‘guilt’ and started rectification measures.

In one instance, a girl from Mancherial district, who scored 96 marks in Telugu paper in Inter first year was awarded zero marks in the same paper in second year. When media highlighted this, Inter board issued revised marks list awarding 99 marks out of 100 to her.

One wonders, how come zero marks became 99 marks all of a sudden in a day.

Then it came to light that there are several such victims of Inter board negilgence.

Despite all this, KCR and his government have kept mum showing utter disregard or lack of concern towards students and their parents.

For KCR’s government, this is not new. When EAMCET scam surfaced three years ago, where question papers were leaked and sold like hot cakes in the market, KCR made tall claims of initiating tough action against the culprits. He ordered CID inquiry into the issue.

After three years, no one knows about the fate of this case. Either anyone punished or any cases booked against the guilty.

This is how KCR’s government functions in Telangana, who boasts of bringing ‘qualitative change’ in national politics by entering national politics after Lok Sabha results in May.

Students and parents lash out at KCR saying let alone bring qualitative change in India, he should try to bring a qualitative change at least in Telangana, who blindly voted for him and elected as CM for two terms.

Students and parents are now cursing themselves for electing such a negligent and irresponsible government, which cares a damn towards the future and interests of students or any other sections.

JC speaks truth, embarrasses Naidu!

Share

Known for his controversial remarks, senior Telugu Desam Party leader and sitting MP from Anantapur J C Diwakar Reddy does not mince words when he wants to put forth his view point, even if it causes a lot of embarrassment to the party.

On Monday, JC triggered a fresh controversy by declaring that he had to spend more than Rs 50 crore on the elections in his constituency.

Stating that elections to the assembly and parliament have become a very costly affair, he said on an average, each candidate had spent not less than Rs 25 crore in the parliament elections in Andhra Pradesh.

“This is not confined to just the Telugu Desam Party. Candidates of all the political parties had spent money like water. According to my assessment, the total expenditure of the elections this time for all the political parties has crossed Rs 10,000 crore,” he said, adding that he was afraid how much it would cost for the parties in the next elections.

JC, however, found fault with the voters for selling their votes for money.

“They are not accepting anything less than Rs 2,000 per each vote. Even beggars and daily wage workers are demanding Rs 5,000 per vote. This system has to change. We need to have strong political reforms to curtail this expenditure,” he said.

The TDP MP expressed hope that Naidu would emerge victorious in the elections as he had introduced more than 120 welfare schemes for the poor, besides other development programmes.

“But only two schemes – Pasupu Kumkuma and old age pensions – will bail him out and fetch him victory,” he said.
