Is That Anirudh’s Satire On Trivikram?

Share

Actually, Tamil composer Anirudh has done very less work in Telugu films, but some of his Tamil songs are a super hit in the two Telugu states too. And then, he’s here earlier to compose for Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavasi but director Trivikram has put the blame squarely on the youngster saying that he didn’t understand Telugu music.

Though the songs and background score of Agnyaathavasi are good, Trivikram’s blatant story and spineless execution made that film a flop. However, that affected the chances of the young composer here. Finally, he got Nani’s Jersey and the songs sounded average before the release. But after the release, the story is different.

Apparently, Anirudh’s BGM is completely stunning and took the film’s result to the next level. As that talk is out, the composer tweeted a dialogue straight of Petta movie, where Rajnikanth says, “Na Pani Ayipoindi Anukuntunnara?”. Does that sound like anything less than a satire to director Trivikram?

By roping in big composers, films won’t run or score a blockbuster, but when you provide them with the right content, then the teamwork will see a victory.

Jersey’s Jolt To Chitralahari, Majili

Share

Despite bagging mixed reviews, Chitralahari has managed to do decent at the Box Office. On the other hand, thanks to Samantha and decent reviews, Majili earned profits thus bailing out Chaitu.

But the run of Chitralahari and Majili are going to end with Nani’s Jersey which has received unanimous reviews all over. With extremely positive reviews for Jersey, the film is expected to dent into the collections of Chitralahari and Majili and thus put an end to their run.

In order to continue Chitralahari’s run, the film’s makers are holding a success bash today to create buzz and thus pull crowds in this weekend as well. Now, many in industry opine that it won’t be useful as already Jersey got blockbuster talk. Interestingly, Nani was supposed to do Chitralahari, but he escaped from the script and he landed up choosing Gang Leader with Vikram K Kumar, Mythri.

Twitter War : JD Vs Vijay Sai Reddy

Share

The twitter war between YCP’s Vijay Sai Reddy and Janasena’s JD Lakshminarayana has turned interesting. It all began when Vijay Sai Reddy questioned JD’s claim that Janasena would win 88 seats. Making pun on JD’s tall claim, Vijay Sai Reddy asked how Janasena could win 88 Assembly seats when it contested only in 65 seats. This is not all. Vijay Sai Reddy went a step ahead and made a mockery on JD’s investigation in YS Jagan’s DA cases. Vijay Sai Reddy asked JD that whether he did similar “errors” in the investigation of Jagan’s cases and included what was originally not there. Vijay Sai dragged Chandrababu into the whole issue and alleged whether the investigation was also “Chandrababu Naidu’s Briefing”.

Sharply responding to Vijay Sai’s remarks, JD shot back saying, “You’ve read CA and yet your math is still wrong. I wonder how this is possible. Please get your math right since we rely on Truth and Justice. Your numbers have already troubled many. At least now, start good practice.”

Explaining how Janasena would win and form government, JD said, “Janasena had contested on its own in 140 seats. Our allies BSP contested in another 21 seats, CPI, CPM and left parties have contested in another 14 seats and thus, the total tally of Janasena goes upto 175 seats. Our math is always perfect unlike yours.”

Now this befitting reply of JD to Vijay Sai has left YCP in off-guard.

Jagan sends wishes to Chandrababu

Andhra Pradesh CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu has turned a year old on Saturday. With nearly twenty thousands people have tweeted with the hashtag #HappyBirthdayCBN. But The TDP chief received special wishes from none other than the opposition leader, YS Jagan.

Jagan took to his official Twitter handle and tweeted “Warm birthday greetings to @ncbn garu.” This is totally unexpected from the YSRCP chief considering the war of words they had during the election campaign.

‘I choose Nani over Yash’

Share

Shraddha Srinath, after giving an award-winning performance in U-turn (Kannada), has now managed to grab eyeballs with Nani’s Jersey. The Telugu audiences are highly impressed with this new face and she absolutely made a mark with her debut film in Tollywood.

The offers are a pretty handful for Shraddha now and she also made a debut in Bollywood with Milan Talkies. Currently, the actress is now promoting her film Jersey which has hit the screens yesterday. Her attitude and confidence are receiving huge applause from cinephiles.

Recently, the actress surprised everyone in one of her promotional events for the film Jersey. When asked her to choose between KGF fame Yash and Nani, she said “I have already worked with Nani. But I have met Yash only once and I don’t know him well as a person. So I would choose Nani over Yash”.

She also added, “But Yash is a hard-worker. He had put a lot of efforts to achieve the stardom. Before entering films, Yash also struggled as a TV actor. He proudly showed the potential of Kannada films global wide”. She was also asked to choose between Tollywood and Sandalwood film industries to which Shraddha cleverly replied “I’m a professional person and I treat all industries equally. I wouldn’t choose one industry over another and lose my fans anywhere”.

Kanchana 3 Review: Two Ghosts This Time

Share

Raghava Lawrence’s “Kanchana 3” is awaited with much interest as all its prequels were blockbusters.

Let’s find out how this film has fared up.

Story:
Raghava (Raghava Lawrence) who is scared of ghosts lands to his ancestral village and the house is possessed by a ghost named Kaali. Who is Kaali? What is his story? What is this ghost’s connection with Raghava forms the rest of the story.

Artistes’ Performances:
Raghava Lawrence has done it in his usual style. Kaali, the second role that he has played is exactly like his real life image –a guy who does charity.

Kovai Sarala provides some comedy. Sreeman and Divyadarshini are okay. Vedhika, Oviya and Niki have competed with each other in showing off their skin.

Technical Excellence:
The film has rich production values and rich camera work. Music is not up to the mark. Rest of the technical values are decent.

Highlights:
Some jokes
Bearable first half

Drawback:
Clichéd moments
Boring second half
No logic
No sensibilities
Loud comedy

Analysis
Raghava Lawrence has successfully created super fan following to “Kanchana” or “Muni” franchise. This is the fourth film in this series. If you watch any one of the movie in this franchise, you can easily guess what happens in the other movies. Such a template he has created for this horror-comedy series.

The template goes like this: to take vengeance a ghost comes into the body of the hero and this situation leads to some comedy sequences, and a flashback gets opened to reveal the story of ghost. “Kanchana 2” has followed the same template. The only difference is this time two ghosts appear instead of one.

The film opens in predictable way and provides some laughs here and there and some glamour show by heroines.

Despite formulaic narration and clichéd sequences, the first half is not that bad. It is the later portions that tests the patience. Lawrence in his usual style of loud acting and garish direction makes it too hard to digest.

His movies are aimed for mass audiences. You don’t find any sensible moments. It is too bland.

Those who don’t mind cheap thrills, want to watch glamour show from three heroines may find this an okay horror comedy. But for others, it doesn’t entertain. The comedy is not at all on par with ‘Kanchana’, the earlier movie in this series.

Bottom-line: Sequel Horror

Naidu a caretaker CM or full-time CM?

Share

What are the powers of a chief minister of a state after the conduct of assembly elections but till the announcement of election results?

This has now become a topic of big debate in the political circles, in the wake of Election Commission’s notice to the Andhra Pradesh government calling for an explanation on the conduct of review meetings with government officials on various developmental works.

Telugu Desam Party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu held two meetings with officials on Thursday: one on the progress of works on Polavaram irrigation project and other on the works going on the capital region of Amaravati.

He was also planning to hold a review meeting with top police officials on the law and order situation in the state, but cancelled the same following the EC notice.

This has generated a lot of debate in the political circles. TDP, which has been adopting a confrontationist attitude towards Election Commission, questioned the propriety of the Commission in preventing the chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the conduct of review meetings.

TDP MLC and party’s official spokesman Y Babu Rajendra Prasad said what was wrong in Naidu holding review meetings.

“He is not a caretaker CM, but a full-fledged CM. He took oath as the chief minister on June 8, 2014 and till June 7, he can be the chief minister. He is responsible for all the developmental works in the state till then. If not the chief minister, who else will review the progress of works in Polavaram project to ensure water supply to farmers by coming season?” he asked.

Another TDP leader and minister Nakka Ananda Bab also pointed out that Naidu would be the chief minister till the new government forms. So, as the chief minister, he has the powers to hold official meetings.

“Moreover, the polling for assembly elections was over on April 11 itself and so, there is no way, the TDP can gain political advantage from the official meetings,” he said.

YSR Congress party MLA Buggana Rajendra Prasad, however, said the code will be in force till the declaration of results.

As such, the chief minister had no powers to conduct any reviews when model code of conduct was in force.

“He is just a caretaker CM. He can do review meetings only under emergency situations,” he clarified.

Another YSRC leader Botsa Satyanarayana said Naidu would, no doubt, continue as the chief minister till the new government is formed, but he had no authority to hold official review meetings during the poll code.

“He has no faith in the systems and democracy,” Botsa alleged.

Why is KCR not backing federal front allies?

Share

During the campaigning for recent Lok Sabha elections in the state, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had extensively propagated that he would play a big role in the national politics by forming a federal front government at the Centre, if his party was given 16 MP seats.

He already held talks with Janata Dal (S) leaders Deve Gowda and H D Kumara Swamy in Karnataka, DMK president M K Stalin in Tamil Nadu, Biju Janata Dal president Naveen Patnaik in Odisha, Trinamul Congress chief Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal, Jharkhand Mukthi Morcha leader Hemant Soren in Jharkhand, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav in UP etc.

Whenever he talked of federal front, KCR used to take all these names and asserted that he would rope in more regional parties to form a federal front and fight against both the BJP and the Congress.

Till recently, KCR was busy campaigning for the TRS in Telangana. Now that elections are over in the state, the TRS president has got the excellent opportunity to improve the winning chances of his federal front partners so that they would get good numbers to form the next government.

Now that he is free, KCR could as well participate in campaign in support of his federal front partners extensively. But he has not done so, for reasons known only to him.

“Before elections, he claimed that he would bring all the regional parties together under one umbrella against the BJP and the Congress. After talking to so many parties, one wonders why he is silent now. He could as well go to Tamil Nadu to campaign for DMK, Odisha for BJD, West Bengal for TMC and UP for SP-BSP. When he wants all of them to be part of the federal front, doesn’t KCR have the responsibility to campaign for them and help them win more seats?” Congress star campaigner Vijayashanti asked.

She reminded that KCR had claimed full support from JD (S) in Karnataka and went to the extent of saying JD (S) had come to power only because it copied the Telangana schemes.

“Why hasn’t KCR gone to Karnataka to campaign for his friendly party?” she asked.

Vijayashanti gave the answer to her own queries.

“The answer is very clear. KCR’s federal front concept is a humbug. It is only a drama enacted on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party to prevent the Congress party from coming to power at the Centre. It shows KCR is indirectly helping the BJP by dividing the anti-establishment vote,” she asserted.

Demonestisation is ‘Tughluq plan’ of Modi: Chandrababu

Share

In a joint address of the anti-BJP parties which have come together to form the Mahaghatbandhan, AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu along with Congress President Rahul Gandhi appealed to voters in Raichur in Karnataka to ‘remove Modi as Prime Minister.’ Stating that Bengaluru is always on the map of most developed cities of India, he said that Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh have grown rapidly duo to the absence of the BJP. Interestingly, Chandrababu was welcomed with a thunderous applause by the crowd in Raichur.

‘Today, there is democratic compulsion to bring in a non-BJP government in India at the national level. I appeal to everyone to vote out Narendra Modi. He has lied to people, made false promises, did publicity stunts but never fulfilled any of the promises he made. He had promise to develop our nation and people trusted him with their mandate. But, he has betrayed the people with demonetisation. It was badly implemented and so was GST,’ he said, adding that development came to a standstill because of such ‘tughluq plans’.

Adding that BJP government hasn’t delivered on its promise of establishing IIT-Raichur, he appealed to people to bring Congress-JD(S) government at the national level too, apart from that in Karnataka. His speech clearly indicated his support to Congress-JD(S) partnership at the Centre, with the support of other regional parties. However, he did not mention about his choice of Prime Ministerial candidate – whether it would be Rahul Gandhi or Deve Gowda.

Chandrababu also picked on the local issues which the BJP has not addressed in Raichur. ‘I have given a call to people to vote out Modi and hence, many Telugus in Karnataka have voted for Congress-JD(S) partnership. I’m happy that the current government is run by this partnership. We thank the Congress for promising Special Status for AP in its manifesto and also mentioning that they will sign the first file on AP special status,’ he added.

Meanwhile, Congress President Rahul Gandhi said: ‘People have decided in 2019 that in Karnataka, Congress and JD(S), in Andhra Pradesh Naidu (Chandrababu Naidu) and across the country those who are fighting against BJP, they will win. Narendra Modi will be removed from Delhi.’ He added that ‘People of Gujarat are saying, leave alone the country, Narendra Modi has not done anything for Gujarat…Lakhs of acres of our land were given to big business people.’
