Kamasutra heroine died of cardiac arrest

Actress Saira Khan, who was seen as a lead actress in the 2013 erotic drama Kamasutra 3D, died of cardiac arrest yesterday. Saira had been replaced by popular adult heroine Sherlyn Chopra in Kamasutra 3D and the movie marks as her Bollywood debut.

The director of the film Rupesh Paul expressed his grief and condolences over Saira’s untimely death. He said, “I found out about the news and was shocked.” He was also upset over the news not being reported anywhere. “She deserved to be recognised for her performance and to remain unknown even after the brilliance she had is even more hurtful. It’s a mourning time for us and I hope she rests in peace,” added the filmmaker.

He recalled how it was a tough job for him to convince Saira to sign the film as she hailed from a very conservative Muslim family. She also had to face many challenges post her performance in a bold film like Kamasutra. However, he believes that waiting for her nod was worth and the actress did absolute justice to the movie. Saira was also seen in a few regional films before her Bollywood debut Kamasutra 3D.

At a time when most surveys point to the fact that Narendra Modi will retain his Prime Ministership as BJP will form the government again, voters in four states of India have a different opinion. A survey by C-Voter and IANS has revealed that voters in Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu have a soft corner for Congress President Rahul Gandhi.

While the national survey response clearly indicated that Narendra Modi would be the preferred choice for PM post, according to the survey. Almost 65% of voters in Kerala said they would choose Rahul Gandhi over Narendra Modi. In Andhra Pradesh too, more than 55% of voters said they would choose Rahul Gandhi, given the negativity against the BJP government for doing injustice to the state.

Similarly, in Tamil Nadu, nearly 61% of respondents indicated their choice as Rahul Gandhi while 37% preferred the Congress President in Punjab against 36% for Narendra Modi. Interestingly, all the four state are non-BJP ruled states which have made their voice against the NDA government evident at various platforms.

One more Varasudu is making his acting debut in T-town. Son of noted actor and former MAA president Sivaji Raja, Vijay Raja is all set to test his luck as an actor. The teaser of his debut film ‘Edaina Jaragocchu’ has been unveiled by director VV Vinayak. The teaser is racy, edgy laced with thrill. Touted to be a crime thriller, the film sticks to its title and is a gripping edit. Background score is complimenting.

After launching the teser, Vinayak said, “I know Sivaji Raja since my days as an associate director. He evolved as a character artist and now his son is making his debut. I wish him good luck and hope he becomes a huge star. The antagonist in this film is a big star in Tamil industry.” Sivaji Raja thanked Vinayak for gracing the teaser launch event.

Coming to ‘Edaina Jaragodcchu,’ Pooja Solanki and Sasha Singh are playing the female lead roles. Noted cinematographer Sameer Reddy has cranked the camera for it while Srikanth Pendyala is composing music. ‘Edaina Jaragodcchu’ is being bankrolled by Wet Brain Entertainment and Sudharm Productions banners.

‘I’m unfit in politics, so I quit’

His name was a sensation in the Telangana assembly elections. He joined Congress and in no time got appointed as official spokesperson. Then he exuded over confidence that Congress will come into power in Telangana and KCR will face a humiliating defeat. If this doesn’t happened he also dared to cut his throat. By now you might have guessed it properly and yes he is Bandla Ganesh.

All of a sudden, he announced that he is quitting politics and is now not related to any political party. That was Bandla Ganesh short and sensational six months of political innings. But why Ganesh took such a drastic decision to leave politics? Well, we have to hear it from him because it sounds appropriate.

“I’m unfit in politics and so quit. In politics, you can’t live in reality whereas I do in real life,” said Ganesh. Nevertheless, Ganesh said his wish is to see Rahul Gandhi in Prime Minister position and his boss Pawan Kalyan as Andhra Pradesh chief minister.

When asked about Andhra Pradesh politics and which party could possibly form the next government, Ganesh replied, “I live in Telangana and wasn’t unable to guess what’s happening here properly. How I can comment on Andhra Pradesh politics.” This is quite diplomatic and Ganesh played safe here, which we usually don’t hear it from the comedian turned producer.

While the recent interaction with the press, the actress revealed that she had literally begged Rajamouli for the role in any of his films. “I had bumped into Rajamouli sir at an airport and I begged him that whatever part he has and I said I will do it. That time he had not cast for the girl yet. He said he was anyway talking about my timelines. So I told him whatever be the timelines, I will make it happen. We made it happen.” Alia said.

In fact, Alia also started learning the Telugu language solely for RRR. Alia will be seen playing the female lead opposite Ram Charan in the film. With her exceptional acting prowess, the Telugu audiences are eagerly looking forward to the actress on the big screens.

Renuka Chowdary Wins Over TRS Candidate

Congress firebrand leader Renuka Chowdary’s victory in the HMT staff elections has stunned the ruling TRS party. Renuka defeated Quthubullapur TRS MLA Vivekananda and is going to be the new chairman of HMT staff union.

There were a total of 151 votes and 141 members have cast their vote. Renuka Chowdary got 79 votes while Vivek received 65 votes. With a difference of 14 votes, Renuka emerged victorious and she will be occupying the chairman position for which TRS B Vinod is representing currently. The results of HMT staff elections were declared on Saturday.

This is for the second time, Renuka will head the HMT staff union. Earlier Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao has worked as HMT union president.

MLC elections was a big setback for TRS and now the HMT staff results. Is it the indication of downfall? Let’s wait for the Lok Sabha results.

Radhika has narrow escape in Colombo

Chennai: Noted Indian Tamil actor Radikaa Sarathkumar on Sunday had a providential escape as the bomb in the Cinnamon Grand hotel in Colombo exploded just after she had checked out.

In a tweet, Radikaa said: “OMG bomb blasts in SL, God be with all. I just left Cinnamon Grand hotel and it has been bombed. Can’t believe this. Shocking.”

“The dastardly act of terror unleashed in Colombo is condemnable, our heart goes out to innocent lives lost in the attack,” her husband and actor-politician R. Sarathkumar tweeted.

At least 207 people were killed and 469 injured when eight suicide bombings struck luxury hotels and churches across Sri Lanka, mainly in Colombo, on Easter Sunday in the island’s bloodiest day since the civil war ended a decade ago.

HYDERABAD: Telugu TV actor Prashanthi and five others were booked for creating nuisance and obstructing a person from watching IPL match at Uppal stadium here on Sunday, said police.

According to the complainant, Prashanthi and five others didn’t allow him to watch the match between Sun Risers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders. They also abused and threatened him.

“We have registered a case under section 341, 188 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and further investigation in the matter is underway,” the police said.

2) Kanchana 3: You may like it or not, but you cannot deny the fact that Kanchana 3 is a success in terms of attracting the masses. The film had a tremendous first weekend especially across single screens and mass pockets.

The film has been turned down by the critics, but that hasn’t dented its performance a bit. It registered housefuls all through the weekend.

3) Chitralahari: Sai Dharam Tej’s Chitralahari has slowed down because of two big new releases. However, it has fetched the much needed hit for the mega hero who suffered a string of flops.

4) Majili: Majili has become the biggest solo earner for Naga Chaitanya. It came at the right time for Chay who had seen a lull in his career post Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam.

We have to see whether he can consolidate his market and be consistent in achieving Rs. 30 crore share.

5) Kalank: The high budget mega Bollywood film Kalank turned out to be a dud in spite of heavy pre release buzz.

It has been one of the rare failures among Bollywood biggies this year.

Rajasekhar’s Kalki Sold Like A Hot Cake!

Dr. Rajasekhar has finally decoded the box office puzzle with Garuda Vega. He realized that his films need to be innovative and different from the rest to get noticed.

He patiently waited for another good script post Garuda Vega and has taken up Kalki with director Prashanth Varma who made an impressive debut with Awe.

Kalki has been attracting eyeballs right from its first poster and the recently released teaser has set high expectations on it.

The film looks to have the potential to be a box office winner which is why it is receiving multiple offers from various corners.

Tamil actor Dhanush has reportedly shown interest to get the all India theatrical rights of Kalki, but the makers have sold the theatrical rights to producer Radha Mohan.

He offered Rs. 12 crore for worldwide theatrical rights of Kalki, which is a huge amount considering Rajasekhar’s market.

Producers C. Kalyan and Rajasekhar are happy with the amount offered by Radha Mohan and sealed the deal.

Although the budget of Kalki is way more than Rs. 12 crore, the makers are sure to fetch handsome offers from non theatrical avenues.
