YSRC to file defamation case against Farooq Abdullah

Share

Amaravati: The YSR Congress Wednesday said it would file a defamation case against National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah for alleging that Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy offered Rs 1,500 crore to the Congress if it made him Chief Minister of the then united Andhra Pradesh.

Abdullah levelled this allegation while addressing an election campaign meeting in support of the ruling Telugu Desam Party at Kadapa on Tuesday.

The National Conference leader alleged Jagan Mohan Reddy made the offer soon after the death of his father (former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy).

“Jagan once came to my house when AP was united. I want to remind him that he told me he was ready to give Rs 1,500 crore if Congress made him the Chief Minister,” Abdullah had claimed.

Reacting to this, YSRC general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy alleged that Abdullah levelled the charge as per the direction of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

“What is Abdullahs connection with AP? He doesnt even belong to our neighbouring state. What does he know about AP issues.. Naidu brought Abdullah to Kadapa in a bid to garner Muslim votes. We are sending him a defamation notice for making baseless allegations against our leader Jagan,” the YSRC general secretary said.

Addressing an election meeting in Visakhapatnam district, Jagan Mohan Reddy said a leader was “imported” from Delhi to speak a few lines written for him by the “TDP school of manipulation and management.”

“That leader utters those words and flies off,” the YSR Congress chief said, without taking names. (PTI)

Cornered Pawan Kalyan Changes Tune

Share

Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan lost his cool when his fans disturbing his speech during his campaign meeting. Fans are still treating him as matinee idol, not as a serious politician. They are seeking his attention by making catcalls like they do at film events.

The other day, Pawan Kalyan got disturbed by some fans at the meeting and he warned them to be silent and get charged up against the TRS leaders.

Telangana Chief Minister KCR said he’d see it that Chandrababu Naidu gets ‘return gift’ from him in the ensuing polls. What he meant was he’d put all efforts for TDP losing in the elections.

It is a challenge between TDP supremo and KCR. It is nothing to do with Andhra people and Telangana people. But Pawan Kalyan has been attacking KCR and TRS leaders for their ‘return gift’ comments.

Actors and writers like Chinni Krishna, Posani and Kona Venkat had raised a question why is that Pawan Kalyan getting offended with KCR’s return gift which is intended for Chandrababu Naidu. What is the deal between you and CBN, they cornered Pawan Kalyan.

Realizing that he got exposed, now he has changed the tune in the same meeting the other day.

“If KCR returns the gift to Chandrababu Naidu, I don’t have any issue but he should enter into AP democratically. He should not back YS Jagan,” he said.

Everyone has now learned that Pawan Kalyan is singing the tune of Naidu.

Superstar fans are eagerly waiting for tomorrow and hoping for an instant hit.

Boyapati Srinu Leaves Chandra Babu With Mixed Feelings!

Share

Boyapati Srinu was recovering a humiliating failure with Vinaya Vidheya Rama when the TDP Government has assigned him the job of doing promotional ads for TDP for the upcoming AP Assembly and Parliament polls.

Boyapati, an ardent admirer of Nandamuri family and a staunch follower of TDP took it as a challenge and directed nearly ten Pro-TDP ads that are being aired across all the channels now.

Few ads are getting thumping response, while a few are getting trolled on social media. It is always either a hit or miss with Boyapati and the TDP ad campaign is no different.

He has given nice elevations to Chandra Babu’s Governance and his schemes in certain ads and has gone overboard in praising CBN in some ads.

Boyapati’s ads are trending on social media platforms irrespective of their merits. TDP followers are trending good ads and the anti-TDP people are trolling the bad ads.

Boyapati’s ads are getting the job done either way by getting maximum attention.

EC could book criminal case against Naidu!

Share

The Election Commission has all the evidences to prove the large scale electoral malpractices being committed by the Telugu Desam Party government headed by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

According to reports, EC had taken the decision to transfer state intelligence chief A B Venkateshwar Rao and SPs of Srikakulam and Kadapa, only after ascertaining all the facts following a complaint by the YSRC leaders.

“It was a decision taken by the full bench of the EC in the wake of complaints received from multiple sources. EC has its own ways and means to investigate, ascertain facts, come to the conclusions,” a source in the EC said.

He said with regard to allegations of telephone tapping, the EC has all the communications (letters) to this effect, which clearly establishes culpability.

“It is only a sample. Actually a criminal case should have been registered against the Concerned for illegally tapping,” the EC source said.

He pointed out that the action taken by the ECI was only a simple transfer of certain officials, who have come to its adverse notice. “There is no punitive action yet. There were complaints against their actions and conduct which does not arouse confidence in all sections towards free and fair elections,” he said.

All officials and official machinery are under the EC with the sole objective to conduct free and fair elections. Therefore it’s not only well within the ambit of responsibility of the EC, but an obligation on it to change them even if there is a slightest of suspicion, the EC source said.

On the concerns expressed over the security of the chief minister, the EC source said it was taken care of mainly by the NSG, Black Cat commandos and there is a separate wing of AP Security Wing which takes care of the CMs Security.

“An IPS officer of SP rank exclusively takes care of CM Security and coordinates on a day to day basis. Two SP rank officers are PSOs to the CM and a DIG rank heads the separate and exclusive AP Security Wing. Therefore the chief of intelligence does not matter in the scheme of things on a daily basis,” he said.

Dirty Secrets: Chinni Krishna Vs Akula Siva

Share

Akula Siva, the writer of blockbusters “Tulasi”, “Nayak” and “Krishna”, made startling revelation that he wrote the most of the script of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s “Indra”.

In a video message sent to the media, Akula Siva lambasted writer Chinni Krishna who criticised Pawan Kalyan for his electoral speeches.

Chinni Krishna who wrote hits like ‘Indra’ and ‘Narasimha Naidu’ slammed Pawan Kalyan for making cheap comments that Andhra people living in Hyderabad are being beaten up by fellow Telangana residents.

Reacting to Chinni Krishna’s comments, Akula Siva who also belongs to Chiranjeevi’s community like Chinni Krishna does said he wrote the scenes of “Indra”.

“When I wrote scenes of Governor Bungalow to Meedi Tenali Maadi Tenali in “Indra”, Chiranjeevi garu asked me to take credit as writer but it was Chinni Krishna who begged me not to spoil his career,” Akula Siva revealed.

He also termed Chinni Krishna as “drunkard”. However, it is not verified whether Akul Siva is telling the truth. Why he has not revealed this information before?

2019: TRS seems to have clear edge in Telangana

Share

Hyderabad: Buoyed by its landslide victory in the recent Telangana Assembly elections and with opposition parties looking demoralised, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) appears to have clear edge as it aims to make a clean sweep in the next month’s elections to 17 Lok Sabha seats in India’s youngest state.

The ruling party is working with ‘Mission 16’ while its friendly party Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) sitting pretty to continue its stranglehold on Hyderabad.

Reeling under desertions by its MLAs, the Congress is struggling to put up a strong fight against TRS while the BJP’s prospects too look remote.

The TRS is appealing to the people to give all seats so that it, along with other regional parties, can play a key role in forming anon-BJP, non-Congress government at the Centre. Chief Minister and TRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao, who is eying an important role in the national politics, is leading the party campaign along with his son and TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao.

“We got 47 per cent votes in the recent Assembly elections and won 75 per cent of the seats. We have initiated process to implement the promises we made. People are disillusioned with Congress and BJP. I believe Telangana will rock solidly stand with KCRji,” Rama Rao told IANS.

In the Assembly elections held in December, the TRS had sought a mandate on the basis of its performance, especially the welfare schemes implemented during the last four-and-half years.

Despite the Congress cobbling up a four-party front, including the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the TRS got the massive mandate, winning 88 seats in 119-member Assembly. The ruling party’s tally swelled to 100 with nine Congress MLAs joining its ranks this month. One MLA from TDP also crossed over to TRS while two independents had already switched loyalties.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, the TRS had bagged 11 seats while the Congress won two and the TDP, the YSR Congress, the BJP and the MIM got one each. Three MPs each of the TDP, the YSR Congress and the Congress later defected to TRS. On the eve of Assembly elections, TRS also lost one MP, with Konda Vishweshwar Reddy joining the Congress. He is again contesting from Chevella, this time on the Congress ticket.

The TRS, which dropped four outgoing MPs, is especially focusing on four constituencies, including Secunderabad and Khammam which it has never won. In the 2014 Assembly polls, the TDP-BJP combine had bagged 14 of the 24 Assembly seats and Secunderabad and Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituencies. This was mainly because ‘settlers’, as the people from Andhra Pradesh living here are referred to, threw their weight behind the alliance. The TDP also did well in Khammam district, another place where the TRS could not establish itself.

Since then, the TRS has made major inroads in Greater Hyderabad, the capturing Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) with a landslide majority in 2016. In the recent Assembly elections, it won 14 out of 24 seats while MIM retained seven seats.

In a political masterstroke, KCR roped in TDP leader and former MP from Khammam, Nama Nageswara Rao and within hours declared him the TRS candidate from Khammam.

Smarting under desertions of its leaders, the TDP opted out of the race for Lok Sabha elections, helping TRS to achieve its goal of finishing off TDP, which it considers an Andhra party.

Losing nine MLAs to the ruling camp after crushing defeat in Assembly elections and with the lack of any charismatic leader, the Congress is in total disarray. It had to fall back on the leaders who were defeated in Assembly elections to contest the Lok Sabha polls.

The Congress hopes to give a good fight to TRS in constituencies like Khammam, Nalgonda, Bhuvangiri, Malkajgiri and Chevella.

Senior Congress leader and former union minister Renuka Chowdary carries the party’s hopes in Khammam, while state unit president Uttam Kumar Reddy faces a tough battle in Nalgonda.

The CPI and CPI-M, which fought Assembly elections as a part of different alliances, have joined hands to field candidates in their former strongholds of Nalgonda and Khammam.

A triangular fight is expected in constituencies like Secunderabad, Nizamabad, Mahabubnagar and Karimnagar, where the BJP is considered to have sizeable presence.

In Nizamabad, KCR’s daughter K. Kavitha, who is seeking re-election for a second consecutive term, is locked in a keen battle against Madhu Yashki Goud of the Congress and D. Aravind of the BJP. About 200 farmers have also entered the fray in this constituency to highlight their hardships.

The BJP replaced its lone outgoing MP and senior leader Bandaru Dattatreya with G. Kishan Reddy in Secunderabad, a seat which was held by either Congress or BJP in the past. While Congress has fielded its former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, state minister T. Srinivas Yadav’s son Sai Kiran Yadav is the TRS candidate.

Lakshmi’s NTR Still Hangs in the Balance

Share

The release of Ram Gopal Varma’s “Lakshmi’s NTR” is still hanging in the balance in the court.

Although Censor Board has given clearance to the movie and Telangana High Court dismissed the petitions seeking the movie’s release, Telugu Desam party leaders are still trying to stop it.

Andhra Pradesh High Court today took up the lunch motion petition filed by TDP leaders. But court has postponed the case to Thursday for hearing. The film’s release in Andhra Pradesh hangs on this court’s judgement.

It is said that RGV for this reason has cancelled today’s pre-release event. He is awaiting to see all the hurdles clear off.

Naidu ignores EC, retains intelligence chief!

Share

Within less than 24 hours of the Election Commission of India ordering transferring of Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (Intelligence) A B Venkateshwar Rao along with two SPs, Telugu Desam Party government headed by N Chandrababu Naidu retained the top cop violating the EC orders.

Naidu government initially issued orders attaching Venkateshwara Rao, besides Srikalulam SP Venkata Ratnam and Kadapa SP Rahul Dev Sharma to the police headquarters and directed them to hand over the charge to other senior-most officers, as per the EC directions.

But within hours, the transfer orders were withdrawn and a fresh GO was issued, confining the EC orders to only two SPs and Venkateshwar Rao’s name was removed, indicating that he would continue to be the state intelligence chief.

The government also issued a separate order listing out all the police officials – right from Director General of Police to the constable in a local police station, who would be directly working under the purview of the Election Commission, till the election process was completed.

Interestingly, the order does not have the name of DG (Intelligence) A B Venkateshwar Rao, indicating that he does not fall under the purview of the EC, just like Chief Secretary.

It clearly shows that Naidu has decided to bypass EC orders and retain the intelligence chief.
