KCR to appeal AP voter to defeat TDP

Share

It’s official now. TRS president and Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao will not tour AP to campaign against TDP in upcoming AP Assembly polls.KCR will only make an ‘appeal’ to AP voters before the crucial polling to defeat TDP and give ‘long leave’ to Chandrababu Naidu in the ‘interests of AP’.

KCR will address AP voters through electronic and print media before polling explaining the need why Naidu should be thrown out of power for the speedy development of Andhra Pradesh and for the speedy construction of new capital city.

KCR will urge AP voters to take a ‘wise decision’ before casting their vote and that ‘wise decision’ will be defeating TDP.KCR will not appeal voters to vote for any particular party but will only request them to defeat TDP and teach a fitting lesson to AP CM Chandrababu Naidu, who failed on all fronts in his five-year rule.

Though Naidu and other TDP leaders have intensified attack on KCR as elections near accusing nexus between “KCR-Jagan” and “TRS-YSRCP” to defeat TDP, KCR has been maintaining complete silence.

KCR chose not to respond on Naidu’s criticism saying that AP people have lost faith on Naidu and already took a firm decision to throw him out of AP and there was no need for him to react on Naidu’s charges against him at this stage.

Will Majili Affected by Election Hungama?

Share

The good part of election schedule is that no single Telugu film’s release date will not be disturbed by it.

For Telugu states, the election process will be completed by April 11 and till May 23rd; there would not be any poll activity in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Except “Majili”, all movies like “Chitralahari”, “Jersey”, “Maharshi” and “Dear Comrade” are releasing after the elections in Telugu states.

However, there is a fear that Naga Chaitanya and Samanth’s “Majili” might get affected due to high-pitch campaign.

“Majili” is releasing on April 5th. The campaigning of all parties will be at the peak stage during this period and also the attention of general public will be more on the election hungama than on the movies. So, trade fears that “Majili” may not get big numbers in the opening week.

Now both Chaitanya and Samantha will have to do double publicity and promotion at the release of their movie “Majili” to get the focus shifted on their movie.

Jana Sena Announces first list of candidates

Share

Jana Sena is the first political party in Andhra Pradesh to announce the list of candidates for assembly and parliament seats for the elections 2019.

Pawan Kalyan finalized and announced candidates for four Lok Sabha constituencies and 32 assembly constituencies.

By making this announcement, Pawan Kalyan gave hints that he is not looking for alliance either with TDP or YSRC.

On the other hand, Telugu Desam Party and YSRC party are yet to announce a single seat officially though both have finalized candidates for many seats.

Ex-CBI JD not to join TDP now?

Share

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is said to be in second thoughts in admitting former joint director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and retired IPS officer V V Lakshminarayna into the party.

If everything was to go according to planning, Lakshminarayana would have joined the party by now. He had already held talks with minister for higher education Ganta Srinivasa Rao and talked to Naidu.

There were reports that Naidu is likely to field Lakshminarayana from Bhimili assembly constituency and shift his son Nara Lokesh to Visakhapatnam (north). Ganta, who is representing Bhimili at present, will be fielded from Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency.

However, within hours of the reports leaking to media, YSR Congress party started taking advantage of the development to gain mileage in the elections.

The party leaders alleged that Lakshminarayana’s entry into the TDP lent credence to their suspicion that he was hand in glove with the TDP in foisting cases against YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in 2012 and sending him to jail.

In the meantime, a letter leaked by the TDP leaders about former Enforcement Director Karnal Singh to former CBI director Alok Varma in May 2017 exposing a quid pro quo deal involving Jagan has also added to the negative talk.

The YSRC leaders suspect that the letter was leaked deliberately by Lakshminarayana to help the TDP sling mud at Jagan during the elections.

In a bid to avoid this negative propaganda, Naidu is learnt to have kept in abeyance the entry of Lakshminaryana into the TDP.

It remains to be seen he will really stick to his decision or take the ex-CBI JD into the party at the eleventh hour.

Why are leaders reluctant to contest LS polls?

Share

A strange situation is prevailing in Andhra Pradesh politics in the ongoing general elections. There has been huge competition for the party tickets to contest assembly elections in all the major parties, particularly the two major contenders – Telugu Desam Party and YSR Congress party, but the leaders are evincing little interest in contesting the Lok Sabha elections.

In the TDP, party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is literally struggling to convince senior leaders to contest the Lok Sabha seats. None of them is evincing interest in contesting the Lok Sabha polls.

For example, Naidu requested assembly speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao to contest Narsaraopet LS seat, but he is keen contesting only assembly elections – either from Sattenapalli or Narsaraopet. Even sitting MP Rayapati is not very much interested, but he has no other option.

For Kadapa Lok Sabha seat, the TDP chief virtually forced minister C Adinarayana Reddy to contest.

For Rajahmundry, sitting MP Magunta Muralimohan is not interested in contesting, forcing Naidu to look for an alternative candidate. For Visakhapatnam LS seat, too, minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao bluntly refused to contest.

For Hindupur, also, sitting MP Nimmala Kishtappa wanted to contest the assembly polls, but Naidu had to struggle a lot to convince him to contest again.

From Ongole, the TDP chief brought tremendous pressure on minister Siddha Raghava Rao to contest as an MP, as Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy defected to the YSR Congress party.

Same is the situation in YSR Congress party in many constituencies. Leaders are evincing interest in contesting the assembly seats, rather than Lok Sabha.

Seniors like Botsa Satyanarayana, Killi Kruparani, Dharmana Prasada Rao and K Parthasarathy are said to have expressed reluctance to contest the Lok Sabha polls.

As a result, YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is forced to depend on defectors from the TDP and Congress to contest the Lok Sabha elections.

Big Fight: Kodali Nani Vs Devineni Avinash!

Share

TDP Leadership decided to field Devineni Nehru’s Son Avinash against Kodali Nani in Gudiwada Assembly Constituency. This is going to be one of the interesting battles in AP Politics during the 2019 Elections.

Kodali Nani is a Local Leader and also 3-time MLA. He was elected as MLA Twice on TDP Ticket and Once on YCP Ticket. All the attempts made by TDP to defeat him in 2014 hasn’t yielded results due to his strong followers base, image and YCP supporters. The only thing which might work against him is the money factor as he isn’t financially sound.

On the other hand, Devineni Avinash is financially sound and his family background comes in handy. Facts that he is non-local and doesn’t have his own cadre/image is a big minus. He is solely relying on the TDP Factor here. Gudiwada Voters preferred Kodali Nani for the past three terms. New face of Avinash could work in favour of the youngster to some extent if the voters want a change.

Political Analysts say, Chandrababu Naidu is risking the political career of Devineni Avinash by fielding him against a strong opponent. This wouldn’t have happened if Devineni Nehru was alive.
