Aravinda Sametha Touched The Shores!
These are the days where big movies are ending up with minor losses due to overall cost failure and selling projects at mammoth prices. But some films often break the mould and shower profits on distributors even though they are sold at a high price.
After the likes of Rangasthalam, Mahanati and Bharat Anu Nenu, there comes another winner now, in the form of Jr NTR’s Aravinda Sametha. Already the film amassed nearly 85+ crores share and after this Sunday this might touch the much needed 91 crores mark as well. And that makes the film touching the safe shores with almost all the distributors recovering their investment. In the USA, Aravinda Sametha surpassed Nannaku Prematho full run collection to become NTR’s highest grosser. Aravinda Sametha collected $2,051,183 as per Friday night.
So whatever the film collects in the next few weeks until cinema lovers find another blockbuster movie is going to be the profit for distributors. Also, NTR’s consistent box office performance with the Janata Garage, Jai Lava Kusa and then with Aravinda Sametha is quite impressive we have to say.
Will Ask Ram Charan To Adopt A Titli-Affected Village: Pawan
For the last two days, Janasena president Pawan Kalyan has been camping in several villages in Srikakulam which are severely affected due to the Titli cyclone. Most of Pawan’s speeches during his cyclone tours have been against Chandrababu and TDP.
Today, addressing a large gathering of the cyclone affected victims, Pawan announced that he will ask his nephew Ram Charan to adopt at least one village and do his part in its rehabilitation. Pawan’s statement received a thunderous response from the villagers.
Not stopping there, Pawan as usual, targeted TDP leaders. “You people think film stars have a lot of money. But you don’t know that it’s people like Nara Lokesh and Ram Mohan Naidu who have a lot of money, but they don’t take out a single penny from their pockets,” Pawan said.
Irony is that Pawan himself is yet to announce his contribution to the cyclone victims. Although he has been touring the Titli affected villages, there has been a lot of criticism that he is exploiting a natural disaster for his political gains.
Sruthi accuses actor Arjun of sexual harassment
Actress Sruthi Hariharan on Saturday accused multilingual south Indian actor Arjun Sarja of sexually harassing her on the sets of a film in 2016. He has dismissed the claim.
“I was shooting for a bilingual film which starred Arjun Sarja, a man whose movies I have grown up watching. I was excited about the opportunity,” Sruthi said in a Facebook post.
During the film rehearsal, the 54-year-old actor who has appeared in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films, had to do a romantic scene with the actress, who played the role of his wife in the film, which she has not named in the post.
“During the rehearsal, we delivered our lines and Mr. Arjun hugs me. With no forewarning or permission, he runs his hands intimately up and down my back. He pulls me closer with my body taut against his and asks the director if we could use this idea of foreplay in the scene,” the 29-year-old actress recalled.
The incident which took place before at least 50 of the film’s crew left her “aghast”, Sruthi said.
“I am all for depicting realism in cinema, but this felt absolutely wrong. His (Arjun) intent seemed anything but professional. I hated that he did it and angry that I didn’t know what to say then,” she added.
The actress said the film’s director had “sensed her discomfort” and that she had shared the incident with her make-up team and informed the direction department that she was not interested to be part of rehearsals.
“During the course of production, every smutty innuendo he (Arjun) made created an unpalatable work environment for me. His salacious invitations to meet him after work appalled me,” added Sruthi, who featured in the critically acclaimed Kannada film “Lucia” (2013).
Though she didn’t want to go back to filming, she had to finish the project she had signed, Sruthi said.
“I choose to come out now because henceforth, I think Mr. Arjun Sarja needs to make sure he doesn’t cross the thin line between two actors and use his position of power to cause another person discomfort or hurt,” she added.
The actress said the #MeToo movement is to make sure “no man ever takes a woman’s personal space for granted, whoever she is to him.
“This (film) industry has helped me achieve my dreams, explore my capabilities and inspired me to be versatile. It breaks my heart to share that I have felt unsafe, disturbed and disappointed in far too many situations,” said Sruthi.
Arjun, popularly known as ‘Action King’, has acted in over 150 movies across Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages. He has dismissed the allegations as “false”.
“The allegations being levelled against me are entirely baseless. I am shocked to hear such false allegations,” Arjun told a news channel responding to the sexual harassment allegation.

If the buzz from film industry is to be believed, Stylish Star Allu Arjun is in plans to start his own production house soon.
He is one of the partners in Allu Aravind’s Geetha Arts. But Allu Arjun wants to launch his own production house to make movies to his liking.
Allu Arjun recently opened a new office and has moved there from previous Geetha Arts office.
He is reportedly having all the discussions about his upcoming films in his new office. Vakkantam Vamsi has been hired as the script coordinating head for Allu Arjun’s films.
The DJ actor is listening to numerous scripts from experinced and inexperienced directors. He is in talks with directors who usually make low budget films too.
According to the buzz, Bunny is planning make concept based films with other actors on his banner.
Many young actors like Nani, Vijay Deverakonda are floating their own banners.

Unhappy KCR Calls 105 Candidates!
In a meeting that could alter the fate of the party in the upcoming elections in Telangana, party Chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao will meet 105 candidates he has chosen to field from his party. The meeting will be held in Telangana Bhavan where KCR is said to present his survey results on the candidates.
According to sources within the party, nearly 40 candidates may lose in their constituency. . “He will give 20 days to the candidates and analyse their candidature after that. If there is no further improvement in the sentiment for the respective candidate, KCR will choose another person for that seat,” a source revealed.
While this seems to be the litmus test of candidates, it is also a test of KCR’s might in the state and reflects how TRS is losing people’s support. Political observers say that losing 40 candidates is almost equal to losing power.
Going by his own survey results, KCR will need to sharpen his knives and put his best foot forward by fielding the right candidates for the seats. This scenario also shows that the TRS needs to up the ante and needs to plan its victory well.
Not New Age Politics, they are self-goals, Pawan!
Pawan Kalyan’s Srikakulam visit to Cyclone affected regions came at a time when relief operations and repairs in the district were underway as an aftermath of Titli. However, it looks like Pawan’s only motive was to criticise the government’s relief operations.
In a series of Tweets, Pawan lambasted the government for neglecting those affected by the Cyclone. He said: “I will keep updating on my Twitter about Thithili cyclone damage’ with photos and videos while I travel. The world doesn’t know the extensive damage it caused.” If one analyses this tweet, it is clear that Pawan was busy with Kavathu while the media was abuzz with news about cyclone Titli and the havoc it caused in AP and Odisha.
In another tweet, he said: “In Srikakulam while Titli cyclone effected families outpouring their grief; AP Govt Launches an App urging people to upload the photos with GEO tagging for the damage caused to them..” Through this tweet, it is clear that Pawan neither understands how a Government uses technology during disasters nor does he make an effort to understand it. Geo-tagging is a way for the government to assess damage if it has missed out on any, while there is always a separate on-ground assessment team which estimates damages through physical verification.
In another tweet, Pawan said: The Irony is even after the sixth day as we visited,half the villages are still under darkness, Dear Respected Chief Minister,please show them the light in the hour of darkness’.” His lack of knowledge on ground is clearly reflected through this tweet. According to sources, 36,000 electricity poles have been grounded and restoration has been underway 24X7. But, looks like Pawan’s self-goal is to criticize but not help those who are in need of it.
It would be good if Pawan Kalyan does not politicize Cyclone for his self-goals but at least wait till the restoration works are completed. It is unfortunate that someone who preaches and demands “New age politics” is practising age-old politics of mudslinging at every opportunity he gets.
Alia Is The Reason Behind Mahesh’s Daughter ‘Biggest Smile’
Namrata Shirodkar has accompanied husband Mahesh Babu to New York, where the actor is currently shooting for his upcoming film Maharishi.The couple’s six-year-old daughter Sitara and 11-year-old son Gautham Ghattamaneni also accompanied them to the US.
The actress, who is continually sharing updates on her Instagram timeline from her vacation (of sorts) in New York, surprised Instafam with a photo of Alia Bhatt with her daughter Sitara. Namrata Shirodkar and family’s rendezvous with Alia, took place in New York.
Sitara had a fan moment on meeting Alia and the photo caption says it all.
“Sitara’s day out. Her most favourite girl of them all. Thanks Alia for bringing the biggest smile on her face,” the caption read.
Alia Bhatt took some time off her busy schedule and arrived in New York recently. She was spotted hanging out with rumoured boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in the photos which hit the Internet recently.

Will Dil Raju Listen to Samantha?
Samantha says Tamil movie “96” should not be remade in any language. One should leave the film as it is and should not be remade, she opined.This is indeed a shocking comment for producer Dil Raju, as he bought the movie’s Telugu rights.
“96” is the latest romantic Tamil movie that won great praise from critics. The film became an instant hit in the state. Trisha and Vijay Sethupathi are the lead pair of this nostalgic drama.There were reports that Dil Raju is planning to remake it with Nani and Samantha. But Samantha says it should not be made in Telugu.
Incidentally, Samantha watched the romantic drama and was quite impressed with its heart-warming feel.She praised the film, especially Trisha’s performance in it. She feels that the same feel would not be recreated in other languages. So, it is better not to make it again, says the producer-actor who made U-Turn in Telugu to mixed response.
When one of her fans asked whether she’d be reprising Trisha’s role in Telugu, Samantha replied saying that she would rather not want the film made in Telugu.

Actress Anu attends TPAD Bathukamma in Dallas
Telangana Peoples Association of Dallas, (TPAD), the organization well known around the world and synonymous with BiggestBathukamma in the world, has celebrated Bathukamma in grand and traditional way. This year’s celebration has not been a routine celebration. The incidents leading to the celebrations are of epical measure.
The nature challenged the will of the organizers. The weather put a test to the strength of character of the women organizers and the women of the Telugu community.
The celebrations attended by over 8,000 people tell who had to bow down. It is the resolve of the women organizers, which prevailed in the challenge. It is the unbuckling support of the entire leadership of the organization, which paved way for conducting the celebrations, unaltered.
Fierce storm with heavy winds and dark clouds, thrashed Dallas until mid-day. But, nothing was to sway the determination of the women organizers of TPAD. They huddled at the arena as planned, to finish the arrangements, that they started planning a year ago.
The committed volunteers of TPAD have erected the tallest Bathukamma in the middle of the huge stadium. The traditional decorations suiting the floral festival beautified the stage for the celebrations.
The TPAD leadership team headed by Raghuveer Bandaru (Chair of Foundation Committee), Sharada SingiReddy (Chair of Board of Trustees), Srini Gangadhara (President), Indu Pancherupula (Coordinator) have inaugurated the festive celebrations with Poorna kumbham and Deepa Prajwalana.
Women thronged the Allen Event Center, dressed in traditional wear, adored with Bathukamma in their hands as their children followed their mom and the customs.
About 2,000 women participated in playing Bathukamma. The rhythm and chorus of the songs of Bathukamma hit the skies.
Anu Emmanuel, a Dallas raised, Tollywood heroine, who was paired along with Allu Arjun, Pavan Kalyan, Naga Chaitanya, Vijay Devarakonda has joined the celebrations and played Bathukamma.
As the women finished playing Bathukamma, nimajjanam of Bathukammas was performed with all rituals.
A procession of Goddess Durga was conducted, in a beautifully decorated Pallaki. About 1000 people participated in the procession as they made rounds in the stadium, giving Darshan of goddess Durga to all the attendees sitting in the stands of the stadium.
One of the highlights of the evening is the Ashta Durga performance, performed during procession, featuring 25 students from local dance schools, with nava Durgas. The whole auditorium was enthralled by the performance. After the procession, Jammi pooja was performed by the local priest.
In a significant development, a galaxy of mainstream political leaders of US politics, Congressman Pete Session, Texas House Representative Matt Rinaldi and local politician Angela Paxton, a Texas senate contestant have attended the celebrations. They have applauded the services of the Indian diaspora in the fields of IT, science and technology and health care. They said, the strength of US is in its diversity and the Indians are bringing cultural richness to the country.
Foundation committee members Ajay Reddy, Foundation co-chair JanakiRam Mandadi and Rao Kalvala have introduced the leaders to the audience.

The celebrations continued with electrifying musical performances by Tollywood singers Anudeep, Manisha Erabathini and Parnika. It has been a custom for telugu movie singers to come and join the TPAD Bathukamma celebrations as a symbol of devotion to the goddess.
Sharada Singireddy BOT chair, introduced the guest of honor, Anu Emmanuel. Anu Emmanuel said, her participation in the celebrations has helped her educate herself about the Telugu culture. She appreciated the efforts of TPAD for investing time and effort to maintain the culture.
