Samantha Gets Flops in Tamil
Samantha had released two films on the same day in Tamil but both bombed at the box-office. While her bilingual ‘U Turn’ that won great critical acclaim and also saw good collections in Telugu, the Tamil version flopped miserably.
On the same day, her commercial entertainer ‘Seema Raja’ starring Siva Karthikeyan also released to lukewarm response. As per the latest reports, this movie is also heading towards flop.Samantha who has given three hits in a row this year – ‘Rangasthalam’, ‘Mahanati’ and ‘ Irumbu Thirai’ (Abhimanyudu in Telugu) has now got two flops and both these failures are in Kollywood.
However, Samantha is content with the response of “U Turn” in Telugu. It has been her dream to deliver a hit with a heroine-oriented movie/thriller like Anushka or Nayanthara have been consistently doing.She is yet to deliver such a massive hit like they did but she got pass marks with ‘U Turn’ in Telugu in her maiden attempt.

KCR Assigns Big Task To Kavitha
Ahead of the Telangana assembly elections, CM KCR entrusted a big task to his daughter, Nizamabad MP Kavitha. The Telangana Jagruthi leader has been appointed head of the social media campaign wing to the TRS.From now onwards, Kavitha will monitor closely the social media campaign of the party from village to the state level. Special social media campaigner teams in every assembly constituency were already formed.
KCR considered social media as a big campaign tool for the party in view of the number of social media users is growing phenomenal in the recent times.The Lok Sabha MP already asked MLAs and TRS leaders of each assembly segment to upload the data pertaining to the beneficiaries of every welfare scheme launched by KCR government. All the information will be displayed on social media sites.
Kavitha will also visit all assembly constituencies along with social media team and ascertain the development taking place in every segment and post the information in social media sites.
‘One with Jr NTR and two with Vijay Deverakonda’
Ace producer Ashwini Dutt said he is planning to make a film with Jr NTR and two with Vijay Deverakonda in 2019.Ashwini Dutt spoke to the media on Tuesday ahead of his upcoming movie ‘DevaDas’ audio launch which is scheduled on September 20th.
“On the occasion of late Akkineni Nageswara Rao garu’s birthday, we are releasing the audio of ‘DevaDas.’ This is Nagarjuna’s fifth film in our banner and after ‘Azad’ I haven’t worked with him and he has changed a lot. His knowledge about films and his involvement is superb,” said Dutt.
He added that his daughters Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt along with son-in-law Nag Ashwin are showing interest in making films in other languages. Accordingly they have tied up with Viacom18 for ‘DevaDas.’“I introduced Mani Sharma and after a gap we both are doing together. He will show his ‘vishwaroopam’ with music and background score,” added Ashwini Dutt.
YS Jagan : 5th Highest-Earning MLA in Country
Jagan Mohan Reddy has emerged as the most-earning MLA of Andhra Pradesh and fifth-highest earning MLA in the country.
According to the latest report of the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and the National Election Watch, YS Jagan from Andhra Pradesh is India’s fifth-most earning MLA. Jagan’s annual earnings is pegged at Rs 13.92 Crore. Including the earning of his wife YS Bharati and the income of other family members, his total income stood at Rs 18.13 Crore per year.
ADR has gone through the self-declared affidavits of sitting MLAs across the country. It went by the self-declared affidavits of 3,145 out of 4,086 sitting MLAs across the country. As 941 MLAs have not declared their income, they have not been included in this report, which primarily focuses on the annual self-income of the sitting MLAs only.
Karnataka’s Hoskote MLA MTB Nagraj from Congress is the highest-earning MLA in the entire country. He stood No.1 in the country with Rs 157 Crore annual income. Next to him is Maharashtra’s Malabar Hill MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha, the real-estate baron and vice-president of Maharashtra BJP, stood second in the country. Third place went to Karnataka again. KR Pura MLA Basavaraj is at 3rd in the country with an earning of Rs 27.77 Crore per annum. 4th place went to Tamil Nadu. Nanguneri Congress MLA H Vasantha Kumar is fourth-most earning MLA with an annual income of Rs 22.65 Crore. Andhra Pradesh’s YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is the fifth-most earning MLA in the country.
The TDP MLA featrued in the Top 20-most earning MLAs in the country is Kavali MLA Ramireddy Prathap Kumar Reddy. He is at top 14 in the country. His personal annual income is declared at Rs 6.48 Crore. Including his family income, his annual income is at Rs 7.96 Crore.
Interestingly, the lowest-income in the entire country is from Andhra Pradesh. TDP MLA from Singanamala assembly constituency in Anantapur district Yamini Bala is the lowest-earning MLA in the country with an annual income of Rs 1301/-. YSRCP’s Nuzvid MLA Meka Venkata Pratap too was among the lower-incoming MLAs. His annual income is declared at Rs 60,000.
Here Is Kukatpally TDP MLA Candidate
Political parties are busy finalizing the candidates in Poll-bound Telangana. As general elections for Assembly are expected to take place in November, TDP too busy finalizing the candidates in the constituencies where it holds strong base. As Kukatpally in Hyderabad is one such constituency, TDP has decided to field the former minister, senior leader and the present TTD board member E Peddireddy.
Peddireddy is likely to be contesting as the candidate of the Grand Alliance in Kuktpally with the backing of Congress, CPI, CPM, TJS and others. Given that Andha population is high in the constituency, TDP is expecting to win the constituency.
On the other hand, TRS has announced sitting MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao from Kukatpally. Madhavaram Krishna Rao, who had won as MLA in 2014 on TDP ticket, had switched loyalties to TRS. He is now contesting on TRS ticket in 2019. This makes the fight more interesting. However, local TRS leaders are strongly opposing Madhavaram and openly announced to defeat him by all means.
Since Kukatpally Assembly is part of Malkajgiri Parliament constituency, this assembly segment holds significance.

Member of Parliament, Kalvakuntla Kavitha who graced the success meet of ‘U Turn’ said actress Samantha is an epitome of modern woman.Kavitha said, “Honestly I haven’t watched the film ‘U Turn’ yet but my two kids have watched it. They gave me very good reviews. I heard this is a wonderful film and it is not easy to convey a social message in a spooky way. This film has succeeded in doing so.”
The Nizamabad MP is in all praise of Samantha and added that she (Samantha) is not scared of doing different films and showing variations.“I have watched Rangasthalam and when one compares that film with ‘U Turn’ there is no match at all.”
Welcoming director Pawan Kumar to the Telugu industry, Kavitha said he has a long way to go and she would also try to convey a message in a spooky way instead of soft and sensitive approach.
Upset Over Special Category Status, 14-Yr-Old Commits Suicide
In a disturbing incident, a 14-year-old young student has claimed his valuable life. Upset over the denial of the Special Category Status that was promised by former Prime Minister to the new state of Andhra Pradesh on the floor of Parliament, student Mahendra from Kurnool’s Done took the drastic step. Mahendra was said to be deeply upset that his elder brother didn’t get a job due to the denial of the Special Category Status.
In his suicide note, the young boy had opined that his brother would have got a job had the Centre granted the Special Category Status to AP. He has also demanded for the SCS for the new state that is troubled with deficit-budget.
Cops have found the suicide note and seized it. Several political leaders have paid tributes to Mahendra and consoled the bereaved family. Congress leader Raghuveera Reddy visited the family members and handed over Rs 3 Lakh to the family.
He demanded the state government to announce an ex gratia of Rs 20 Lakh to the family along with a government job to his brother. Raghuveera, who spoke to media later, stated that AP would get Special Category Status as soon as Rahul Gandhi becomes the Prime Minister. He also said that Rahul would waive off the agricultural loans after he comes to power.
Sailaja Reddy Alludu : Crashes On First Monday
After a decent extended first weekend, all eyes were on Shailaja Reddy Alludu’s box office performance on the crucial first Monday. However, the film crashed heavily on Monday. It has collected only 15% of its first Sunday collections, which is catastrophic since only 50% of the investments have been recovered so far.
Sailaja Reddy Alludu has almost closed its business in the overseas markets and the returns are coming only from the domestic markets. The film’s 4th day share in the Telugu states is less than 50 lakhs.

Going by the first Monday numbers, Sailaja Reddy Alludu will now need a miracle for the buyers to get into the safe zone. All the buyers are looking at at least 30% losses, as they have acquired the film for nearly Rs 20 crores.
Needless to say that both Chay and his fans will be disappointed with the way things are turning out for Sailaja Reddy Alludu, which had shown a huge promise of becoming a solid hit in its first weekend. On the other hand, even Maruthi, who has been trying hard for that one solid hit which will give him the chance to direct a star hero, may have to wait a bit longer.
