Filmakers and heroes making overboard statements about the prospects of their upcoming movies during promotional events, is not new to Tollywood. If hero Vijay Devarakonda is the one who made the bold statement before release of cult movie Arjun Reddy, some recent flock of directors too followed the rythm. Devarakonda had said that he would give away all his bank balance if the movie turned out to be a flop.

Now, Naga Shourya who is quite upbeat about his new flick ‘Narthanasala’, too made an interesting comment. As part of the promotion meet of the movie, Naga Shourya asked his fans not to watch if the movie failed to entertain them. He further asked fans to put a word to others about the movie and encourage them to watch only if the movie is good.

It is quite common for directors or producers to make praise their movies during promotion meetings. Recently, ‘RX100’ movie director too made such comments.Producer Dil Raju too had admitted that ‘Srinivasa Kalyanam’ would be his blockbuster movie after ‘Bommarillu’. However, the Nithin-starrer movie has failed to engage the audience.

One will agree with the statement that the number of multi-starrers made in Tollywood is less compared to Bollywood. With 2019 just four months away, Tollywood didn’t witness any big multi starrers. But here comes King Nagarjuna who is doing justice on his part by not hesitating to pair alongside young actors to prove that he is the new multi-starrer star.

After pairing up Karthi (Oopiri) and Natural Star Nani (Devdas), Nag opened gates to multi-starrers. The latest buzz has that Nag is to join hands with another young hero, Sharwanand. This project is likely to be helmed by a young director and will be bankrolled by a big production house says close sources. Also, the senior hero is paired alongside Mohan Lal for a Malayalam movie. Also nearly after 15 years, he is giving a re-entry in Bollywood with a multi-starrer film named “Brahmastra” will also star Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan.

Looks like Nag is also following the footsteps of Venkatesh. Earlier Venkatesh earned that name for multi starrers after pairing up for Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (SVSC) with Mahesh Babu, Gopala Gopala with Pawan Kalyan, Masala with Ram and at present he’s doing Fun & Frustration (F2) movie with Varun Tej.

Nothing is stopping Nagarjuna from signing multi-starrers and is committed to carrying the multi-starrer crown of his father and renowned actor, Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Back in time, ANR acted in as many numbers of multi-starrer films as possible without hesitating a bit. Meanwhile, Nag and Nani starrer is gearing up for release in September 2018.

Although he was going through a terrible phase as a director, Puri dared to launch his son Akash Puri as hero in his own. He had sold off a sprawling flat and invested all his savings on his son’s debut film ‘Mehbooba’. However, the film turned out to be a debacle at the boxoffice.

Undeterred, Puri announced that he will also be directing his son’s second film and even started working on the script. But then came the big change. We have exclusively learnt that Puri will not be directing Akash Puri’s next film, but he will only be providing the story and screenplay for the movie.

Puri has roped in a debutante to direct his son’s next film. And the reason behind Puri’s sudden change of plans is said to be a star hero. Apparently, Puri a noted hero has given his nod to act in Puri’s film and the project will go on the floors soon. It’ll be interesting to see how Puri’s plans for his son’s next will pay-off eventually.

Senior hero Rajasekhar got a fresh lease of life with Garuda Vega last year. He waited for a long time to zero in on his next film and finally signed talented young director Prasanth Varma for his next project. The project was officially announced recently.

Now, we have exclusively learnt that Rajashekar will be romancing Telugu beauty Anjali in the movie. This is quite an interesting pairing. Anjali’s role in the movie is yet a suspense. In Telugu, Anjali was last seen in her 2017 film ‘Chitrangada’. She has been doing a lot of Tamil movies of late. But unlike in Telugu where she is mostly paired with senior heroes, Anjali acts alongside young heroes in Tamil.

The Rajashekar-Prasanth Varma film is titled Kalki. The film is an investigative thriller and Rajasekhar will be playing a cop’s role in it. Kalki has a period backdrop and it is set in 1983.
