KCR Begins Showering Of Pre-Poll Sops
As if confirming the speculations that he would go in for early elections to the state assembly, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced a series of welfare measures for various sections, besides making appointments to a few corporations and effecting transfers of IAS officers. One of the populist schemes is construction of “Atma Gourava Bhavanams” (Buildings of self-respect) in Hyderabad for all backward communities. at a cost of Rs 2 crore in two acres of land each.
Lands have been identified at Kokapeta, Ghatkesar, Medpally, Medchal, Abdullapurmet, Injapur etc. Similar buildings would be constructed for 36 nomad castes. The beneficiary castes include Budaga Jangala, Yerukala, Munnuru Kapus, Dudekula, Gangaputras, Viswa Karmas, Nayi Brahmins, Arey Kshatriyas, Vadderas, Kummari, Yerukala, Uppara, Mera, Budiga Jangala, Medhara, Perika, Chathada, Srivysnava and Katika castes.Another decision taken by KCR was to supply domestic power free of cost to SCs and STs up to consumption of 101 units every month.
He also announced enhancement of monthly remuneration to Imams and Mouzams of mosques from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 per month. At the same time, he declared that all Archakas in various temples will get government salaries on par with government employees directly from treasuries on first of every month. The retirement age of these Archakas has also been enhanced from 58 to 65.Further, KCR announced enhancement of salaries to teaching and non-teaching employees of 29 mini gurukulams by almost five times.
Politically, the TRS chief appointed Devara Mallappa as Chairman Telangana State Trade Promotion Corporation, Ghattu Thimmappa as Chairman Telangana State Co-operative Consumers Federation and Badmi Shiv Kumar as Chairman Sangeeta Nataka Academy. At the same time, he set in motion the reshuffle of his administration by transferring a few IAS officers in crucial positions.
All these decisions give clear indications that KCR is in a hurry to conduct the elections.
Neevevaro : Movie Review
Neevevaro is a mystery thriller with interesting lead characters. It is remake of a Tamil film Adhe Kangal starring Aadhi Pinishetty, Taapsee and Rithika in lead roles. Despite having an interesting plot, the film fails to hold interest of its audience because of predictable screenplay.
Story :
Kalyan (Aadhi) is a blind chef who falls in love with Vennela (Taapsee). His childhood friend Anu (Rithika) wants to marry him, but Kalyan is impressed with Vennela, a salesgirl who is in big financial trouble. Kalyan wants to bail her out but meets with an accident. There is no sign of Vennela after Kalyan recovers. As he goes in search of her, Kalyan finds startling facts.
Performances:
Aadhi is particularly impressive with his portrayal of blind character. He is a very fine actor who can easily slip into the shoes of any character. Taapsee looks odd in the initial portions but is good towards the climax. She has been picking interesting characters of late and this film too offers the variety that she is looking for. Rithika is just okay in a very ordinary character. Vennela Kishore’s comedy fails to click because of poor writing. Tulasi and Sivaji Raja are too melodramatic. Saptagiri’s comedy also offers nothing fresh.
Technicalities:
It is a loyal remake that doesn’t make much change to the original script. Direction is alright in the penultimate portions, but goes haywire in the middle. Dialogues lacked freshness. Vennela song is good to hear and so is the Rakshasi song. Background score is impressive in parts. Cinematography is good. Portions shot in night backdrop are done well. Editing is poor in the second half. Production values are fine.
Thumbs Up:
Aadhi’s performance as blind man
Final portions
Predictable twist
Dull pace
Unexciting narration
Analysis:
Neevevaro has a good plot that can make a fine thriller. However, it has been dealt in a lethargic fashion that it hardly excites in spite of the mystery element. The suspense part is easily guessable which turned out to be the movie’s weak link. The screenplay needs to be very gripping and keep the viewers guessing for this plot to work.
The lack of emotional connect with the lead character’s pain is another weakness. The love story is dealt very badly that it is hard to sympathize with the lead character after he loses his lover. The investigation part is done in a silly way. There isn’t any seriousness in dealing with the protagonist’s search for his missing lover.
Whole film is based on the twist that comes before the pre climax and that can be easily guessed by an average viewer. Despite predictability the portions that comes post the reveal are okay to some extent. This is the best part of the film compared to the tedious first half and silly take off for the second half. However, it is not strong enough to save the film from being a damp squib.
Neevevaro would have been a movie that fits the current trend of novel movies if done well. Poor screenplay and silly attempts to fit in comedy into a serious plot marred its chances of impressing the target audience.
Verdict: A Thriller Plot Wasted!
TDP Defends Yanamala’s Costly Treatment!
With the ‘costly’ treatment for a simple dental problem of Andhra Pradesh finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu turning out be a controversial issue, the Telugu Desam Party on Friday came out with an explanation defending the whole episode.TDP official spokesman Lanka Dinakar told media that Yanamala had to undergo treatment at Singapore because he had a sudden and unexpected illness when he was there on an official visit. He said Yanamala had undergone dental treatment at AP Dental Hospital, Road No 10, Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad in the hands of Dr Kadiyala Rajendra before his official trip to Singapore in April.
“The treatment was incomplete due to time constraint as he had to rush to Singapore on an official trip. During his stay in Singapore, Yanamala had unfortunately faced unbearable pain and hence, he had to be admitted immediately in a local dental hospital,” Dinakar said.He said that the finance minister had undergone flap surgery and bone grafting in Singapore.“This can be verified from Dr Kadiyala Rajendra for facts. As far as costing is concerned, it is on a higher side in Singapore, as the doctors there charged around 4000 to 5000 Singapore dollars for this treatment,” he explained. In addition to that, Yanamala required 4 caps to be installed to his tooth, but he did not get them implanted in Singapore, but got it done in Hyderabad, Dinakar informed.
Sources said the media reports of this costly treatment to Yanamala reached even chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who enquired with the authorities about how it all happened.
He is learnt to have commented that such controversies should have been avoided.

Coming Up! Nandamuri Film Studio
Many biggies from Tollywood have set up their own film studios. “Padmalaya studios” was set up by Super Star Krishna and Ace producer Ramanaidu has “Ramanaidu Studios”. But it was Akkineni Nageswara Rao who first established a studio in Hyderabad, “Annapurna Studios” and eventually film industry got shifted from Madras after this happening.
Now a senior hero who hails from Nandamuri family is also very keen on setting up a film studio. He’s none other than Nandamuri Bala Krishna. Recently AP Government is seen offering acres of land and many other incentives for Telugu Film Industry to set up film studios in and around Vizag. So keeping all these in mind, now he is planning to set up a film studio in the other Telugu state.
Sources say that he has already got the go-ahead approvals from AP Government and currently chalking out plans to create a cutting-edge facility that will facilitate filmmakers quite well to realise their dreams. Earlier Nandamuri family has a film studio named “Ramakrishna Cine Studios”, which was started by legendary NTR but later it got shut down for reasons best known to them. Looks like Balakrishna is not just bringing back the spirit of NTR through #NTR biopic, but also likely to continue his film studio dream as well.
Currently, Bala Krishna is busy with the regular shooting of NTR biopic, for which he also turned as one of the producers. Being directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, the film is scheduled to release in Jan 2019.
NTR Helped Me Win in Election : Naidu
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu has recalled his association with TDP founder NTR. Venkaiah has shared an interesting anecdote that took place in 1983 when he himself had contested for direct election for Assembly constituency Udayagiri in Nellore district.
Venkaiah said NTR was supposed to come to his constituency for the campaign, but he hadn’t – only because NTR wanted him to win the election. Venkaiah recalled that NTR had sent his man Daggubati Chenchu Ramaiah to him and personally conveyed him that NTR wouldn’t campaign in his constituency. Chenchu Ramaiah apparently told Naidu that NTR didn’t come for the campaign only because he was fighting against Congress. He said he had won the election as NTR wanted. Venkaiah reminsced this instance with his close aides in Vijayawada.
As Chandrababu Naidu is inching close to Congress, Venkaiah Naidu’s comments have gained significance. Since Venkaiah is in the constitutional post and didn’t want to elaborate on politics, he seems to have smartly conveyed his message to Chandrababu.
On the eve of completing one year in the post of Vice President of India, Venkaiah said how he had feared when he was given the huge task of Vice President. Venkaiah said when he had been asked to become Vice President, he had thought of when and how these 5 years would over since he couldn’t go alone without protocol or he couldn’t talk of his choice, freedom. Now, Venkaiah expressed his shock that 1 year is already over and time just flew.
However, Venkaiah said the biggest challenge and worry for him is the running of Rajya Sabha for which he is the Chairman. He said his wish is to elevate the stature of the Upper House, but he said he is so worried over the way the House is being functioned. He openly said he is going through an internal conflict over the functioning of Rajya Sabha. He asked all political parties to focus on the functioning of Legislative Houses in proper order, discipline.
Jana Jagruthi, New Political Party Born In AP
One more political party in addition to the existing parties have come up in Andhra Pradesh before 2019 elections. Araku Parliamentary Constituency Kothapalli Geeta announced the launch of her own political outfit naming it as “Jana Jagruthi” party.
Geeta was elected MP from YSR Congress Party in 2014 elections. She tried to shift loyalties to TDP. However, she did not join the ruling party as she felt TDP is not fit to her to pursue a political career.
She has been inactive in Andhra politics for the last one year. With an objective to empower SC and ST communities, Geeta floated Jana Jagruthi. She also announced Umbrella as her party symbol indicating to bring all SC and ST communities under a single roof.
