Richa flaunts Kerala sari for Shakeela biopic
In the first look from the biopic on actress Shakeela, Richa Chadha flaunts a fresh avatar in a Kerala sari Kasavu Pattu. She says the movie will allow her to capture a range of looks as the story spans over a few years.Richa plays Shakeela in the film, directed by Indrajit Lankesh. The film will delve into the life of the glamorous actress, who has worked in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada language films since over two decades.
For the film, Richa has begun shooting in a small town in Karnataka called Tirthahalli.On her look, she said in a statement: “The challenge for the look of the film but also a good one is that the story traces the journey of Shakeela’s younger days to her becoming a popular figure.
“So, the looks span over years and years and with each passing time her look changed. To show that is challenging but also for me as an actor, it’s gratifying that I get to grow with the real character on celluloid. Shakeela is still a legend and we wish to do complete justice to her when the film is ready.”
TRS Leaders Confused Over SCS To AP!
Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders seem to be in a state of utter confusion over the demand for special category status to Andhra Pradesh.Different leaders of the party are singing different tunes on the demand on different occasions.During the budget session of the Lok Sabha, TRS MP and party president K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha went on record in the House extending support to the demand by Andhra MPs for granting special category status to AP.
She demanded that the Centre should fulfil all the promises made to AP as well as Telangana in the bifurcation act.Earlier, KCR also made a similar statement and said his party had no objection if AP was given special status.But during the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament, the TRS took a different stand.Its MP B Vinod Kumar strongly objected to the special status to AP, as it would result in flight of industries from Telangana to AP.
But on Tuesday, TRS Rajya Sabha member K Kesava Rao said the Centre should fulfil the AP’s demand.KCR’s nephew and state irrigation minister T Harish Rao changed his stand twice in a span of two days – first opposing special status to AP and then changing his tune saying AP can be given special status without affecting the interests of Telangana.
Nalgonda MP Gutha Sukender Reddy on Wednesday felt that Telangana State’s interest would be severely impacted if special category status was accorded to only Andhra Pradesh without providing the same to Telangana.He said he had already written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi stating that interest of Telangana State would be affected if special status was given only to Andhra Pradesh.
Stating that industrialists would prefer investing in AP than Telangana State if special status was accorded to the neighbouring State, Reddy gave the example of an industrialist who had shown interest to setup bricks manufacturing unit at Kodad decided to shift the unit to AP expecting that the State would be given special status.
He reiterated his demand for special status to be given to Telangana State also If there was any move to accord special status to neighbouring State.

There is a joke in Tollywood that Rajamouli makes movies based on fairy tales he heard as a kid. Rajamouli in many interviews said that the stories of Magadheera and Eega were narrated to him by his father as bed-time stories when he was a kid.Fact is that the scenes and sequences of many of his blockbuster are either inspired by old Telugu movies or Hollywood movies like ‘Troy’, ‘300’ and ‘Gladiator’, etc, but he keeps telling the above line.
This is why Tollywood folks during formal chats joke that Rajamouli came to the industry with his bedtime stories.
Similarly, Adivi Sesh is weaving the same line. The talented actor who co-wrote ‘Kshanam’, which won great critical acclaim, is now coming up with ‘Goodachari’, a spy thriller.The handsome hunk is also playing the lead role in the movie. He says that he wrote the story of this movie when he was in his teens.
However, he says that his ‘childhood’ story didn’t fit well for the current times. Hence director Sasikiran and he changed it to suit the current trend.’Goodachari’ is scheduled for August 3rd release. It marks the return of Supriya Yarlagadda, actor Nagarjuna’s niece, to silver screen.

Jaipur: Politician-actor Hema Malini has said she can become the chief minister anytime but would rather be free to pursue other interests.I am not too keen, the BJP MP from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh told reporters last evening in Rajasthan’s Banswara city.If I want to I can become that in a minute, but I don’t like to be tied up. My freedom of movement will end, she said when asked if she would become the CM if she got the chance.
The apparent reference was to the post in Uttar Pradesh, now held by her party’s Yogi Adityanath.She said she got to become an MP because of her film career.I am known mainly because of my name in Bollywood, call it dream girl’ or Hema Malini, she said referring to one unforgettable role.
She said she had done a lot of work for the Bharatiya Janata Party even before entering Parliament.She has done much work in her constituency as an MP during the last four years, Hema Malini added, referring in particular to the state of the roads.Calling her Mathura constituency as the `nagri’ of Krishna, she said she loved working for the ‘Brijwasi’ people.
She called the water crisis a global issue which should be the concern of every stakeholder. The MP praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he has worked for farmers, women and the poor, and the country had progressed under his leadership.It is difficult to find a prime minister like him. Leaders of other parties may say anything but we need to see who has done more work for the country, she said.
Hema Malini, who is a Padma Shri winner and Bharatanatyam dancer, was in Banswara to perform at a religious function.
