The ongoing internal wrangling in the Telangana Congress party over who would contest where and who the next chief ministerial candidate would be has come as a blessing in disguise for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.Though there has been a considerable anti-establishment feeling sweeping across the state as an undercurrent, the Congress has not been in a position to capitalise on it because of lack of understanding among the party leaders in various districts and key constituencies.
The recent fireworks in Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee meeting and in Nalgonda, besides serious differences among the party leaders in Mahbubnagar, Khammam and Medak have caused a lot of disgruntlement in the party cadre.
As a result, the TRS leaders are becoming jubilant.
“There is no need for anyone to defeat the Congress leaders. They will fight among themselves and defeat one another,” a TRS leader said.Senior TRS leader and MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy expressed hope that the TRS would not only retain power in the State but would win at least 100 Assembly seats and 16 out of 17 MP seats in the State in the next elections. He said the next elections would be last elections for the Congress party in the State.
He said Congress leaders were resorting to fist fight among themselves during the party meetings at Hyderabad and Nalgonda.“These fights have emerged out of frustration and fear of defeat that was evident from the faces of Congress leaders,” he said.Reddy predicted that while TRS MLAs would win with 50,000 majority in next elections, the Ministers would win with one lakh majority and the MPs would win with four lakh majority.
He said the TRS would win all 12 Assembly constituency seats in Nalgonda district recording a clean sweep. Further, he stated that the TRS would rule the State for next 20 years.
