Poonam Kaur Revealed The Reason For That Attack?

Share

Indirectly hinting that she’s talking about the wizard of words, heroine Poonam Kaur is lately tweeting a lot about him from her ‘unverified’ twitter account. And then, when someone interprets more about the fiasco even without writing her name, she’s busy giving a clarification.

Apparently, a website mentioned that ‘this heroine actually tried to get close to a star hero and the director has prevented that from happening. And in no time, the actress came back on the article and blasted the website, the director for his Agnyaathavasam and for giving chance to an NRI heroine.

Poonam tweeted, “Hey http://Xxxxa@#$%a.com …. hello … I know ur paid by the director media head to write everything he wants to express…. I never went asking for anything to this evil man …. u guys need to shut up n stop putting women down to glorify such evil asshol** … guru my foot” (sic).

She further added: “I will not let him write him script of my life … let him lick some ministers n actors foot …. he has written very great article about me spread it in a community before hearing my interview … I held on to my dignity … stop encouraging Harvey Weinsteins n their whoever … U fans need to know he the main reason for some ones agnyathavaasam …. don’t even try this with me mr.director …. suck onto your NRIs who give u great jobs n have zero talent..” (sic).

By the above tweets, one could read that, maybe the role played by that NRI heroine was supposedly Poonam’s, but later she might have got replaced. It looks like she’s expressing her anguish for the same through this twitter attack. Of course, these days doing some veiled attacks became a new talent for Telugu celebs starting with Sri Reddy and gang. Let’s see what more Poonam will say!

‘Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi’ Review

Share

‘Pelli Choopulu’ brought laurels to director Tharun Bhascker. The young director’s movie also won Best Regional Telugu film award at National Awards.

Tharun has unique style and his second film has generated huge buzz with its title and fun teasers.

Let’s find out whether he lives up to all the expectations this time.

Story:
Vivek (Vishwaksen), Karthik (Sushanth Reddy), Upendra (Venkatesh Kakamanu) and Kaushik (Abhinav Gomatam) are four childhood buddies. The story begins with one accident while four of them travelling and goes back to their stories.

Vivek, a short filmmaker, is nursing heartbreak (his beautiful girlfriend broke up with him due to his easily irascible attitude). Karthik on the other hand is all set to get engaged to a USA girl. Upendra is settled as wedding photographer.

Kaushik is trying his luck in TV serials as actor. They all head to Goa for a short filmmaking contest. They booze, have fun and patch their relations.

Artistes’ Performances:
Except for Anisha Ambrose (who has done many films), the cast consists of newcomers. The lead actors Vishwaksen Naidu, Sushanth Reddy, Abhinav Gomatam and Venkatesh Kakumanu are fitted in their youthful, fun roles.

Abhinav Gomatam is actually the scene-stealer with his natural flair for comedy and ease in acting. Many scenes are saved by his comic acting.

Anisha Ambrose and Simran Chowdhary as the female lead are good.

Technical Excellence:
Music by Vivek Sagar is a mixed bag. It is no match to the previous “Pelli Choopulu” or his recent “Sammohanam” but has two catchy songs.

Cinematography is good, some shots are top class. The production design (art work) and production values are perfect. The movie’s pace is dead slow. Even at short runtime, it gives the feel of lengthy movie.

Highlights:
Some funny episodes
Natural dialogues
Abhinav Gomatam’s comedy act

Drawback:
Lacks emotion
Autobiographical sequences
Excessive indulgence
Superfluous booze scenes

Analysis:
The concept of buddy flicks is not entirely new to Telugu audiences, but this genre is not popular unlike in Bollywood or Hollywood.

“Ee Nagarikini Emaindhi” is a true buddy flick with all the regular features of the genre – gang of friends, a place for booze and enjoyment (Goa), friends trying to overcome small differences among them or recovering from heartbreak, funny dialogues and a comedian like buddy.

Films like “Dil Chahta Hai”, “Rock On” and Hollywood flick “Hangover” have popularized these features.

After making his debut movie “Pelli Choopulu” with universal story line, director Tharun Bhascker has chosen this buddy flick genre and mixed episodes from his life, his days of short film-making.

What Tharun has done here is replicating those buddy flicks, but has not entirely succeeded in bringing out the same emotions.

Added to this, the film looks more autobiographical (Tharun Bhascker’s) as it would not be easy to connect to everyone unless you share same lifestyle. That is why the fun and the dialogues evoke mixed reactions here. Some jokes are really hilarious, which can be enjoyed by anyone; some are like inside jokes that can only be enjoyed by their own gang.

After treading aimlessly most part, the director hangs the emotional anchor in the final act. Only at the end of the movie we realize that it is actually about two friends Vivek and Karthik, the buddies from 5th or 6th standard who have gone different directions when they have become adults.

Vivek fears losing his friends and Karthik wants to ‘grow in life’ at any cost. How they bond again much like Akash (Aamir Khan) and Siddharth (Akshaye Khanna) did in “Dil Chahta Hai” is shown in the final parts. But before this, it goes in all directions. Even the emotional factor has not worked well.

What has worked in this film: the initial portions, the dialogues, some comedy episodes (the highlight of this is when Abhinav Gomatam turns bakra in drunk scene in Goa sequence).

On the other hand, the protagonist here comes across as a guy with serious psychological problems than an angry youngman.

Don’t know why some directors feel it is fashionable to turn protagonists like Vivek into heroes when they behave like a misogynist with their girlfriends. One can empathize with an Arjun Reddy, but not with this guy(!?).

The film has many serious problems on thin plotline, but what it achieves is presenting a new-age buddy flick (sparsely though), again gives the glimpse of Tharun Bhascker’s natural dialogue writing strength, and gives us another comedian.

It is fun sure, but not entirely entertaining. All in all, “Ee Nagarikini Emaindi” with its slow pace and overindulgent scenes doesn’t appeal to all, it is primarily targeted at the urban youth. Those who have not seen better buddy movies like “Dil Chahta Hai” may find this fresh, but for others, it is tedious watch.

Bottom-line: Buddy flick!

Naidu Serious Over MP’s Non-Serious Talk!

Share

A video clipping of Telugu Desam Party MPs making fun of their colleague C M Ramesh’s indefinite fast for Kadapa steel plant during their tour to Delhi on Thursday turned out to be a big embarrassment to party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The video clip shows how the MPs were cracking jokes on Ramesh’s fast stating that it was a good way of reducing overweight.

Rajahmundry MP M Murali Mohan was seen saying he, too, wanted to fast for a week as he wanted to lose weight by five to six kgs. This has led to the impression that Ramesh’s fast was just a farcical exercise, lacking any seriousness in resolving the problem of achieving steel plant for Kadapa.

The media reports over the TDP MP’s non-serious comments infuriated Naidu. He took a serious class to the MPs during a teleconference on Friday, asking him why the hell they should have such a silly talk at a time when their colleague’s fast entered 10th day.“We are fighting for a serious cause. What message are you giving my cracking jokes on the indefinite fast?,” he asked.

When Murali Mohan tried to clarify that it was just a fun talk and was not aimed at making any comments on Ramesh’s fast, Naidu pulled him up.“Even if it is a fun talk, you should not indulge in making such comments,” Naidu said. The MP said the video clip was distorted and only some parts of their conversation was released after editing.

“Whoever has shot the video has done it deliberately to malign the TDP,” he said. The chief minister said he would get the entire episode enquired and take appropriate action if the edited video clip is released deliberately.

Lover Teaser: Nothing Special!

Dil Raju’s first film in 2018 is all set to hit the marquee on July 20. First look teaser of Lover from Sri Venkateswara Creations is just a collage of few colorful scenes together. The content in the teaser doesn’t promise anything new.It seems like a regular boy meets girl story and the teaser cut fails to generate any curiosity.

Raj Tarun’s look, performance and dialogue delivery also remains the same apart from sporting a small ponytail. Hopefully, the trailer offers something refreshing to make us excited about the film.Raj Tarun’s current form will need something very special to grab the attention of film buffs.

Brand Dil Raju wouldn’t be enough to pull audience without showing any promise with the promos.

Hero’s Gay Character! Here’s The Truth

Share

When a film starts, there will be rumours around it, owing to the story and the casting. And now, Naga Shourya’s latest movie “Narthanasala” is also embroiled in such rumours. Here comes one of them.

Actually, the buzz is that hero Naga Shourya is playing the role of a gay in this film directed by a newcomer. Many wondered how come he’s taking up such a role and too in his own production. But with two heroines, including Kashmira Pardesi and Yamini Bhaskar roped in, one wonders if this rumour is true.

And a snippet is coming out that popular character actor Ajay is playing the role of a gay in this film but not hero Naga Shourya. And that it is not a fully gay kind of role, but only he acts that way. As the title indicates, Nartanasala is about people changing their identity and living a new life for a while to escape some crisis. That’s what Pandavas did. So that explains the fact behind this gay character anyway.

Currently shooting for some songs, Narthanasala is aiming a September release and Naga Shourya is hoping that his home production will score yet another hit.

Samantha Fetches Better Price Than Many Heroes

These are the days where Hindi audiences are craving a lot for content from the South. Especially mass films of many Telugu heroes are getting dubbed into Hindi and making loads of money.Whether it is a television screening or release in some typical north states, dubbed versions of Telugu films are fetching a lot of attention. For that reason, even a flop film like Nela Ticket has fetched 12 crores for ‘dubbing rights’, which is more than its satellite rights and also box office collections in that case.

Right now the Telugu remake film of Kannada ‘U Turn’ is being widely discussed as the Hindi dubbing rights of this film fetched a bomb. Starring Samantha in the lead, the film got sold for 2.10 crores in the Hindi arena, a price that is not even given to the romantic comedies of some 20+ crore range heroes. And the credit goes to, Samantha, for sure.

With big hits like Rangasthalam, Mahanati and Abhimanyudu in the recent times, Samantha became the talking point of North India as well. As her craze is doubling, now Hindi producers want to pour huge on her movies. That’s how “U Turn” got such phenomenal selling price.

Cut to the film, it’s a supernatural thriller directed by Pawan Kumar who made the original version in Kannada with Shraddha Srinath. Queen bee Samantha plays the role of an investigative journalist inside this film.

Why Ramesh Fast Has Not Much Impact?

Share

The fast-unto-death by Telugu Desam Party’s Rajya Sabha member C M Ramesh demanding establishment of an integrated steel plant at Kadapa entered 10th day on Friday, but unfortunately for him, it hasn’t evoked the expected response from the common people.

Though the party leadership has been making a big hungama by mobilising party workers to the hunger strike camp at Kadapa and pro-TDP media channels have been extensively telecasting the same, the people have not been evincing much interest in it. In fact, they are not at all taking the fast so serious.

On the other hand, they responded tremendously, when the Opposition parties gave a call for Kadapa bandh on Friday. The schools were closed, shops were shot and offices witnessed thin attendance. The buses did not run and people took to streets in protest. But they are not going to see Ramesh’s hunger strike camp.

What could be the reason? First of all, Ramesh is not a man of masses. He is a Rajya Sabha MP who does not have direct connection with the common people.People see him as a contractor and a high profile TDP leader, as he never took part in public programmes and agitations. So, naturally, people have not responded so much when he took up the fast.Secondly, appearance-wise, people are not believing Ramesh has been on complete fasting, as he still looks healthy and sturdy, without any signs of weakness in his face and body.

He doesn’t look like a man who has been without food for 10 days. In fact, his rivals have been campaigned that Ramesh put on weight after commencing the fast.It is nothing but natural that people are comparing him with Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who undertook 11-day fast for Telangana in 2009.Though he was admitted to hospital within two days and was admitted intravenous fluids, he became skin-to-bone within a week and presented a real image of a fighter for masses.

The Centre feared that he might die in the fasting and had to announce commencement of Telangana statehood process in 2009!

Another Defection To TRS?

Share

Close on the heels of Danam Nagender, another Congress leader Mukesh Goud is all set to join the TRS bandwagon.Recently, Vikram Goud, son of Mukesh Goud had a meeting with Uttam Kumar Reddy and RC Kuntia. Vikram reportedly complained against the kind of treatment being meted out to his father who is an ex-Minister.

While Uttam and Kuntia managed to convince Vikram Goud for the moment, indications are that Mukesh Goud will switch loyalties to the TRS.Apparently, he has informed KCR about this and is waiting for a green signal from the ‘pink boss’.KCR, on the other hand, is treading cautiously. He wants to get the balance right as inducting the Congressmen should not upset the aspirations of the local TRS leaders.

Therefore, while there is a pretty long waiting list, priority is only being given to those with a cadre of their own and who can add value to the TRS instead of banking on the TRS’ strength.Exactly like what Raghuvaran says in the classic hit Shiva: Ee student leaders manaku balam avvali kaani mana balam meeda battakodadu (These student leaders should be a strength to us but not live on our strength).
