CCL showrunner Vishnu Induri, who is one of the producers of the #NTR biopic, is actually teaming with a Tamil production house to come up with a biopic on former CM and actress Jayalalitha too.

While the film is a challenge for sure with Jaya’s life and times having a strong impact on Tamils, the producer is said to have finalised a leading lady. While script work is going on in Chennai, from a time they are searching for a suitable face to don the character of Jaya on the silver screen. And here is the update.

From Keerthi Suresh to Nitya Menon, there are many names that are considered to portray Jaya. However, most of the actresses backed out of the project owing to the fact that they might face a backlash from Tamilnadu public if anything goes wrong with the film. And some confirmed that they are not game for biopics.

Finally, we hear that Vidya Balan is approached to play the role of Jayalalitha and she readily agreed to it. She’s also part of the #NTR biopic as she is playing the role of the legendary actor’s wife Basavatarakam role. During those talks, producer Vishnu is said to have told Mrs Balan about Jaya’s film.

Though more details on Jayalalitha’s films are yet to be out, a source close to producers confirmed that Vidya is ready to allot dates for the project.

Recent addition to Chiranjeevi’s family, his younger son-in-law, Kalyaan Dhev is all set to make debut as actor in July. Kalyan’s first film Vijetha has a familiar setup that has proved successful time and again.

It is about a responsible middle class father (Murali Sharma) and an irresponsible son (Kalyan Dhev).

The premise is similar to films like Thammudu, Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule, Raghuvaran B.Tech. etc.

Makers have given clear idea about the plot of Vijetha in a one minute teaser that shows the relation between the father and son.

Kalyan Dhev looks comfortable playing the lead while Murali Sharma walks away with the laurels in the teaser. His character and emotions seem to be the driving factor of the film.

There is a glimpse of romance between Kalyan and Malavika Nair too. Director Rakesh Sashii takes a familiar plot, but the teaser doesn’t give away the twists and turns of it.

Vaarahi Chalanachitram has made some memorable films in the past. With Sai Korrapati bankrolling the project, we can expect Vijetha to have crowd pleasing elements and solid content.

Rajinikanth’s ‘Kaala’ has turned out to be a disaster. The film has witnessed further slide in collections on its first Monday. In Telugu states, the trade has already declared it as a huge flop.

The distributors were hoping that it would hold on, but seeing Monday collections, they have come to the conclusion that it is a bigger flop than Rajinikanth’s previous movie ‘Linga’.

The film has raked in a mere Rs 7 Cr (share) so far in Telugu states. It needs to collect Rs 25 Cr to reach the break-even stage, but it now seems impossible to get even half the mark.

The Hindi version too has failed miserably. Its four days gross is just Rs 6 Cr all over India. So, both Telugu and Hindi versions have bombed.

Reports say the Tamil version is faring slightly better.

Ever since the opening episode of Big Boss 2 is out, there is only one talk that is doing rounds, how did Nani perform compared to Jr NTR as a host. Did he outshine him? Did he fall flat before Tarak’s work? What is it like? But frankly speaking, this comparison is useless and annoying. Here’s why.

When NTR hosted the debut episode of Big Boss Telugu last year, some went on saying that NTR has tried to say dialogues in an uneasy manner. Later those mouths hailed him for his natural flow of dialogues. By the end of Season 1, many of these critics started praising NTR for his oratory skills, ability to churn out emotions and connect with people at heart-to-heart level.

Coming to Nani, other day he has done a fantabulous job hosting the First Episode of Season 2, as he tried to keep the act as naturally possible. He has stolen the show for being himself and for not trying to outshine NTR or Salman Khan for that matter. Nani’s style comes to the fore only in the coming days after the show slips into controversies due to its contestants and their behaviour inside the house. As the story shapes up with time, Nani might deliver the best of him for sure.

And then there is no point in comparing NTR and Nani because each of them is different in their own league and hosted the first episodes in their self-styled hosting act.

Ending his hide-and-seek with brother Kalyan Ram, finally NTR has attended the pre-release event of Kalyan Ram’s Naa Nuvve. Speaking at the do, NTR recalled his Nannaku Prematho made by director Sukumar three years ago which went onto become successful film in Tarak’s career and cemented his success streak after Temper.

NTR said Kalyan Ram is tensed just like how he was tensed during Nannaku Prematho three years ago. Tarak, however, is confident that Naa Nuvve would turn out to be successful just like his Nannaku Prematho and asked Kalyan to be tense-free and informed him that tension is common thing in an actor’s life.

NTR heaped praises on the film’s crew and other technicians and said a film made genuinely would always get thumbs up from audiences.

Apparently, the big reviews that are doing rounds around “Big Boss 2” for the now say, “Big Boss 2 Contestants Lack Appeal” and “No High Profile Contestants”. What does that mean anyway? Let’s have a reality check.

Big Boss is the kind of show that brings in people from different quarters of life and make them live together, and then test them with some challenges. Rather bringing big celebs into this show, the show itself made many common people a celebrity. Other day actress Hariteja, who has actually shot to fame with A..Aa, stated that it is her presence in Big Boss as a participant that indeed made her a busy star.

Even in Hindi arena, some not-so-popular and not-so-busy TV artists and singers are made part of the show, and they have shot to immense popularity later. Swetha Tiwari, Gauhar Khan and Shilpa Shinde are some TV serial actresses who have shot to immense fame post winning the show. Film stars like Shamitha Shetty, Sakthi Kapoor, Pooja Bedi, Minissha Lamba and Rimi Sen also took part in various seasons. That said, there is no question of the likes of Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, AR Rahman and Rajinikanth joining this show to make it a high profile participant list.

Cut to Telugu version, the same formula is being applied and it works too. No one knows much about some critic like Mahesh Kathi until Big Boss made him a star. Same is the case with other participants too. And now, what is that appeal these critics are referring too? Do they want Mahesh Babu and Rakul Preet as contestants?

“ONE MAN. MANY FACES. Feel truly honoured to launch the trailer of this great man Kamal Haasan sir’s labour of love” said Jr NTR, sharing the trailer of Universal Hero Kama Haasan’s latest movie, much delayed film, “Viswaroopam 2”.

Highlighting the point that kids should be sent to schools and colleges (but not religious schools), Kamal takes the banging straight with Viswaroopam 2. Continuing the story that was half-way halted in Viswaroopam, the sequel of the film written and directed by Kamal looks bigger and more intense too. Kamal says, “One can follow and support any religion, but betraying the nation is a crime” while unveiling what are we going to see.

Respected to Kamal’s age, though it’s unbelievable that he has done all the stunts, the visual effects of the film are spine-chilling as he takes us to Afghanistan, USA and various Indian cities yet again. Action sequences, car chases and gunfights looked real like in Hollywood movies.

However, how far Kamal made this film controversial free is what works for it in theatres. With BJP in power and Kamal touching terrorists and so, it needs to be seen if the film hits screens on August 10th for real.
