Tamanna’s Fingering In Script, Director Out?

Share

Despite scoring only flops, somehow the lack of talented fresh faces is making filmmakers opt for seniors like Tamanna and Kajal Agarwal. That’s the reason these hotties are having some more films in their kitty while none of their recent performance is not so impressive.

Despite losing her crown status to other newcomers, milky siren has films of Kalyan Ram, Sandeep Kishan and Queen remake in hand. Cut to this most awaited remake, Telugu version ‘Queen’ is being helmed by director Neelakanta along with the Malayalam version. We are hearing a disturbing report about this film.

For the sake of getting freshness to the scenes, we hear that Tamanna is actively involving in the script and asking the director to approach each scene in a different way. While Neelakanta himself is known for his new style of filmmaking, it seems like the heroine’s interference in his work didn’t go well.

Some unconfirmed reports are indicating that uncomfortable Neelakanta walked out of this project while he will be carving Malayalam version remake with Manjima Mohan. We have to see if there will be any official comment about this.

And Bunny will bring that versatility to a stylish song yet again.

My Mother Made Me Clean Bathroom: Kajol

Share

Kajol, one of the very few actresses who has had a long run in Bollywood, claims that her success is a result of her dedication and discipline. The DDLJ actress credits the discipline that she has inculcated to her mother, who made her even clean bathroom.

For the starters, Kajol is the daughter of yesteryear actress Tanuja, one of the top actresses of the 70s. Despite being born in an opulent family and having many servants at their home, Kajol, when she was a kid, was made to sweep the house and clean the bathroom by her mother.

‘My mother taught me to look after myself and the house if at some point, I don’t have servants in my house. Even, I’ve made my kids broom the house to teach them that nobody’s job is less,’ Kajol said.

The actress is quite excited about acting alongside her favorite co-star, Shah Rukh Khan in yet another film. She plays a special role in SRK’s upcoming film, ‘Zero’.

Trivikram Out Of That Safe Group??

Share

Who is called star hero and star director? Definitely, these kinds of celebs deliver minimum guarantee films for the box office. Whether their films release in a group or during the non-festival season, they will score well. Of late, many stars are however losing such tag.

We have very few star directors who are dependable in case if one needs a hit. The likes of Rajamouli, Vinayak, Sukumar, Trivikram, Sreenu Vaitla are in this ‘safe group’ that always delivers a viable product. But Vaitla moved out of this zone due to pick same routine stories. Though Vinayak delivered some flops, he’s still lauded for coming up with mass films that will work in B & C centres. Sukumar’s 1 Nenokkadine is the only big bouncer but otherwise, he’s okay. What about Trivikram?

Right from the beginning, Trivikram’s film stood out for their brilliant writing though they fell flat at box office sometimes. However, by delivering movies like Jalsa, Julayi, Attarintiki Daredi S/O Satyamurthy and A..Aa in a row, he proved that he’s that Mr Dependable. However, he’s looking like moving out of the safe group if we look at the result carefully.

Forget Agnyaathavaasi result, even before we have A..Aa that made huge money but still, the producers made only fewer profits. Though Attarintiki Daredi is an industry hit at that time, the profits gained by producers are not so high. All this is due to the high making costs involved in those movies. When fruits are not being enjoyed by the stakeholders, how will Trivikram stay as a safe director by investing so much into production?

For Facebook posts and memes he might be a god, but still, trade of his films is little worrying. Now Agnyaathavaasi woes will only add salt to those wounds.

Agnyaathavaasi: Venkatesh Scenes to be Added from Tomorrow

Share

Here comes the final card from the deck of Agnyaathavaasi makers. They have just announced that the withheld scenes featuring senior hero Venkatesh’s special appearance in the film will be added to the film from tomorrow.

They have released the making video of Venky and Pawan dubbing together for that particular scene in the presence of Trivikram. The video looks quite humorous, will the original be as humorous on the big screen too? Will it make any impact as the film has already been written off? Most importantly, who will bear the entire spineless film just for the sake of a few minutes cameo?

We hear that makers have decided to chop off a couple of scenes from the theatrical version besides adding scenes featuring Venkatesh. The new version will be played in all the theatres that screen the film from tomorrow. It needs to be seen if the final effort of Agnyaathavaasi makers can add any benefit to the already dead horse?

Nayini comment lands KCR in trouble!

Share

Telangana home minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy is one of the few straightforward leaders in Telangana. He doesn’t mince words when he wants to say something and calls spade a spade.

In the past, when media persons enquired with him about the alleged fake encounter in northern Telangana forests, he feigned ignorance saying the police officials would not tell him before resorting to encounters.

A ‘candid’ comment made by the home minister landed chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in an embarrassing position.

Speaking at the inauguration of a calendar of Telangana Fighters’ Association, Nayini said: “Several “mu… kodukulu” (ba…rds) who had opposed Telangana and abused Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao in filthy language, have become the MLAs and MPs of the TRS and even ministers in KCR cabinet.”

He went on to say that despite their abusing KCR, they were admitted into the TRS only because KCR wanted to wipe out the TDP which had opposed the Telangana formation.

Though Nayini did not take any names, it is known to everybody as to who these leaders are.

Foremost among them are ministers Tummala Nageshwar Rao, Talasani Srinivasa Yadav and Mahender Reddy, who used to criticise KCR strongly during the Telangana agitation. Talasani had even threatened to drive KCR out of Hyderabad for attacking Andhra settlers.

Similarly, MLAs like Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao, Gandhi, Vivekanada and others, who strongly opposed Telangana formation, are playing key role in the TRS now.

It is for the first time that a minister in KCR’s cabinet himself had found fault with the presence of anti-Telangana and anti-KCR leaders in the cabinet and the party.

Definitely, it is a big embarrassment to the TRS chief.

Wife of Andhra techie killed in Kansas for Trump’s annual address

Share

WASHINGTON: Sunayana Dumala, the wife of Indian techie Srinivas Kuchibhotla who was killed, has been invited to attend US President Donald Trump’s maiden State of the Union address, a media report has said.

Ms Dumala’s husband, Srinivas Kuchibhotla, was shot dead in a hate crime by an American navy veteran at a bar in Olathe city last year.

Ms Dumala, 32, fell out of status because her permission to reside in the US was tied to Kuchibhotla through marriage but she managed to regain her residency status.

She has been invited by Congressman Kevin Yoder to attend Trump’s State of the Union address, an annual message presented by the US president to a joint session of the Congress.

The State of the Union address will be held on January 30.

“She is a very powerful symbol of who the system is failing,” Mr Yoder was quoted as saying in the report.

“One of the reasons I have become so passionate about this immigration issue is that we need to send a message to the Indian community and other immigrant groups that we are a loving country that is welcome to all,” said Mr Yoder who is a member of the Congressional caucus on India and Indian Americans.

Ms Dumala said she now plans to travel to India to observe the first death anniversary of her husband.

She said she has been overwhelmed by the response from friends, families, neighbours and strangers.

“That answer was quick… it came like, ‘You do belong here’,” she said. (PTI)

Cockfights at Janmabhoomi meetings!

Share

The Janmabhoomi programme, which is supposed to be a platform to receive representations from the people on various issues of their concern and resolve them immediately, has turned out be a pastime activity for the Telugu Desam Party leaders.

At Pithapuram of East Godavari district, the TDP leaders resorted to cock-fights to entertain themselves at the conclusion of Janmabhoomi programme, much to the amusement of the villagers.

Notwithstanding the presence of revenue and police officials and the high court rulings, Kakinada MP Thota Narasimham and MLA NVSN Varma conducted cockfights on the pretext of Sankranti celebrations at the valedictory of the Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru programme.

A large number of people, mostly supporters of the MP and the MLA, from neighbouring mandals and villages gathered at the venue to enjoy the cockfights.

The MP and MLA took one cock each, brought by the party workers, and released them in the arena. The cocks fought as the people cheered on.

It may be recalled that the MLA went on record declaring at Uppada that it was impossible to stop cockfights which were part of the tradition.

But holding the cockfights as part of the state government’s prestigious Janmabhoomi programme is something unpardonable, say the locals.

Agnyaathavaasi Day 2 Collections: Huge Crash!

Share

After taking a non-Baahubali record opening on Day 1, Pawan Kalyan’s highly expected family entertainer, ‘Angyaathavaasi’ crashed on Day 2 itself, sending shivers across trade.

The Pawan Kalyan-starrer collected a paltry 4 Cr share with approx 7.5 Cr gross on Thursday, Day 2, and took its 2 days total share from the Telugu states to 30.24 Cr (about 45 Cr gross). The second day share is more than 80 percent lower than the first day’s, 26.25 Cr approx.

The film’s performance is no better outside the Telugu states either. After grossing a record 60 Cr on first day, Agnyaathavaasi added a mere 10 Cr to take its two days worldwide gross to about 70 Cr. Poor talk has visibly taken a bigger than expected toll on the overall collections.

Below is the area-wise break-up of share:

Nizam – 7,32,00,000
Ceded – 3,90,00,000
Nellore – 1,75,00,000
Guntur – 4,06,12,971
Krishna – 2,14,66,117
West – 3,82,61,965
East – 3,04,19,415
Uttharandhra – 4,20,00,000

Total 2 days AP & TS Share – 30.24 Cr (Gross – 45 Cr)
Total 2 days worldwide Share – 45 Cr (Gross – 70 Cr)

In US also, the Trivikram directorial crashed on second day, collecting just USD 40K. The current total stands USD 1.72 million.

Distributors will be incurring huge losses if the film doesn’t pick up during the festival holidays.

Brand Mahesh at Stake?

Share

With his latest film, SPYder all set to have its worldwide TV premiere on Jan 14, fans are worried that the embarrassment caused by ‘Brahmotsavam’ might repeat.

Mahesh’s penultimate release, “Brahmotsasvam” became such a huge disaster at box office that movie lovers didn’t show interest to watch the Srikanth Addala directorial on even TV. As a result, the family drama fetched an embarrassingly low TRP Rating – 7.52, which is too low for the standards of Mahesh. In comparison, “Srimanthudu” recorded almost three times better TRP Rating than Brahmotsavam’s – 21.8

As SPYder became a bigger disaster than Brahmotsavam, fans are worried about its reception on TV on the eve of its world premiere. If this film also repeats the utterly poor performance of Brahmotsavam, the satellite rights business of Mahesh’s upcoming films may also take a huge hit besides putting Brand Mahesh at stake.

SPYder will be premiered on TV on January 14, this Sunday. Ravi Teja’s “Raja The Great” and Sharwanand’s “Mahanubhavudu” will also be premiering on the same day. NTR’s “Jai Lava Kusa” will debut on TV one day ahead, on Jan 13. If SPYder fares poorer than these films, it would be much more embarrassing for Mahesh.
